Been helping my grandmother move into a retirement community recently. Most of her new neighbors are extremely friendly and welcoming. They even leave their front doors open a lot of the time -- it seems like her building might have the atmosphere of a party dorm, tbh, which should suit my extrovert grandmother very well.

I, however, can really relate to her neighbor across the hall:

Did/does anyone else take ballet or jazz and relate so much to Henry here? Like, I cannot do social dance. CANNOT. I tried some ballet and jazz steps at a school dance in junior high, once. It did not go well, for me.

Zlibrary- my saviour, my knight in shining armour.

Zlibrary thank you dear baby for existing. I discovered Zlibrary two years ago and since then I was never lonely. I had company, of hundreds and thousands at my fingertips. Uni is depressing as it is, but zlibrary brought the entire cosmos, the party and the gossips of the universe to me.

I am gonna miss you for making my life better. Thank you for making reading accessible to me and making me fall in love with it. As a broke uni student, you kept me and my hope alive by kindling my love for reading. Zlibrary you have no idea how you have helped me through the rough patch of pandemic.

I don't care what others say about piracy bullshit and copyrights blah blah, to me Zlibrary was my ultimate saviour, the light at the end of the dark tunnel. There are a plethora of misogynistic, porn, offensive websites and other illicit social media pages which still thrive and continue to function. It only makes the world's priorities clear. And to the tiktok influencers who yelled to the entire world about the gem, are you happy now? Was your mediocre book recommendation worth it? You are privileged enough to have access to physical copies, but no you had to go ruin it for the rest of us. No alternative will ever live up to it.

Zlibrary is close to my heart and when I heard the news I felt someone ripped my heart out and yanked the world from under my feet. It hurt worse than any heart break. Upon several attempts with vpn and everything- still zlibrary fails to work, I felt hollow inside.

I just can't now anymore-

But I will leave on a positive note. Thank you zlibrary for being the dawn after my dark nights. Thank you zlibrary for being my therapist. Thank you zlibrary for being my teacher. Thank you zlibrary for being my friend.

we are doing the Indian caste system, and i've decided im gonna be a fucking untouchable. you are basically broke, but no one goes near you, so woohoo.

I admit, sometimes it's really annoying for us introverts that we are not having a ready tongue and come up with the best answers long after the conversation has ended. But consider this: As a result of thinking about what we want to say, we less likely say something that we regret later.

Introverts vs Extroverts in the workplace.

I feel like we need more leadership diversity in the workplace. I read a study that said that 88% of leaders in C-Suite executive levels are extroverted. Does no one else see this as a problem, in terms of retaining quality employees who may not be as outgoing? I wonder how many industries struggle because they value "personality" over quality when selecting managers and supervisors?

Also, why are introverts - who are often more skilled and capable - told to conform to extroverts, and not the other way around? Introverts have much more to offer, in terms of productivity, quality, and innovation; yet, extroverts continue to hold a monopoly on C-level executive positions.

Bill Gates, Jeff Bezos, and Mark Zuckerberg are all introverts and have introduced some of the most innovative technology in the last century. But, their success came through creating their own business - not working up from the bottom, competing against extroverted personality types, to CEO level status.

As an introvert, I feel like I'm at an impasse in my career. It's either I fake being an extrovert, while dealing with the mental and emotional exhaustion, or, I create my own business that allows me to work in my own environment.

Sigh.

Introverts, we need to unite!

Sometimes I get the curious urge to go outside and meet more people...

Then I remember that our species evolved into something that needs to kill other creatures and wear their skin in order to survive, and I promptly sit back down on my couch
