Oichi (お市, 1547 – June 14, 1583) was a female historical figure in the late Sengoku period. She is known primarily as the mother of three daughters who became prominent figures in their own right – Yodo-dono, Ohatsu and Oeyo. Oichi was the younger sister of Oda Nobunaga; and she was the sister-in-law of Nōhime, the daughter of Saitō Dōsan. She was descended from the Taira and Fujiwara clans.

She was an influential figure in Japanese history in the Sengoku period. Although remembered mainly for her tragic life as sister of Oda Nobunaga, Japan's first unifier, Oichi is also famous for her honorable conduct, her beauty and determination. She was present at two historically significant battles, the siege of Odani and the siege of Kitanosho, sieges that led to the extermination of the powerful Azai and Shibata clan, respectively.

🌸 HISTORICAL NOTES - Akechi Mitsuhide(1528-1582)

As a disclaimer we do not know a lot about him and there is a lot of uncertainty when it comes to him,with that out of the way,i hope you enjoy my post.

He is said to have had been born in 1528(second the Akechi Gunki) and his parents are believed to be Akechi Mitsutsuna and a daughter of the Wakasa branch of the Takeda clan. His father died on the year 1538,leaving Mitsuhide under the guardianship of his uncle,Akechi Mitsuyasu.

In 1556; Saitō Yoshitatsu led a rebellion against his father and Mitsuhide's uncle,Saitō Dōsan. Mitsuhide supported Dōsan,however Dōsan lost and it led to Akechi Castle being attacked by Yoshitatsu. There are theories that say that Mitsuhide served Asakura Yoshikage for some time but i'm not so sure on how accurate those claims are.

Due to the Eiroku incident,that led to the murder of the shōgun Ashikaga Yoshiteru,his brother Ashikaga Yoshiaki fled to Wakasa province and got in contact with many powerful daimyō for support and particularly,Oda Nobunaga. Oda Nobunaga's invasion of Minō province caused Yoshiaki to lose his trust on him and for him to enter in contact with Asakura Yoshikage and led to him pleading with Yoshikage for him to march on the capital and get him proclaimed shōgun and this in turn led to Yoshiaki and Mitsuhide to get in contact. Mitsuhide was said to have persuaded Yoshiaki to not rely on Yoshikage and to instead search for Oda Nobunaga's support after Yoshiaki's pleas for Yoshikage to march upon Kyoto went ignored. Due to Sagiyama-Dono(Nōhime or Saitō Kichō/Kochō,Saitō Dōsan’s daughter and Mitsuhide’s cousin on her maternal side) being Oda Nobunaga’s legal wife,it was easy for him to get into contact with Nobunaga.

With the agreement between Yoshiaki and Nobunaga settled,Mitsuhide joined service under the Oda clan. He joined the march to Kyoto and in 1569,defended Yoshiaki from a attack. At a point,started to work with Hashiba Hideyoshi,Niwa Nagahide and Nagakawa Shigemasa to serve as magistrates on Kyoto.

He split from Yoshiaki on 1573,and continued to serve Oda Nobunaga throught his campaigns. Now I’m sorry but doing research on everything he did is kinda overwhelming but just keep in mind he was a great player among the Oda forces and served in many of Oda’s battles and campaigns.

In 1581,Mitsuhide became extremely depressed after the death of his younger sister,Tsumaki(who was said to have been one of Oda’s consorts). This was said to have had contributed to Mitsuhide’s betrayal of Oda the following year.

In 1582,after receiving orders from Oda to support Hashiba Hideyoshi during his campaign against the Mōri,he informed his senior retainers of his intention to betray Nobunaga.

The following month after this,Mitsuhide launched a attack on Honnō-ji Temple that caused Nobunaga’s death by Seppuku and Oda Nobutada,Nobunaga’s oldest son and heir,was surrounded at Nijō castle by the Akechi clan’s forces and died there. Hideyoshi,unlike Mitsuhide’s prediction,quickly signed a peace treaty with the Mōri and rushed to fill the power vacuum. Mitsuhide struggled to keep the support of his troops and his forces of 13,000 soldiers dwindled to 10,000.

Hideyoshi,who had joint forces with both Niwa Nagahide and Ikeda Tsuneoki,was quick to attack him at the battle of Yamazaki with his forces of 20,000 soldiers. It is unknown how Mitsuhide died,but he was said to have had died at the hands of a bandit who attacked him while he fled after his loss at the battle in July 2 of 1582.

Rpg Anon: You know how in P3, Koromaru never actually gets an Ultimate Persona? Cerberus stays Cerberus but just gets stronger. I know this might seem half-assed, but I feel like I might not wanna give Peko a god for her Ultimate Persona. I made her initial Persona Tomoe, cuz she's a badass deadly as fuck samurai lady who is sworn to her lord/husband and is his best soldier. That sounds exactly like Peko in a nutshell. I kinda don't wanna change that cuz it's so pinpoint already.

//Going by that logic, she'd eventually get Suzuka-Gongen.

//Nōhime could be a potential ascension outside that. The wife of Oda Nobunaga I mean.

AND SO WOULD SHE GRANT THIS ONE with nothing more but the coldest of smiles. Her elegant and fair countenance giving away so very little then, save for the slightest bit of amusement from this one's statement. Either impudent or wise enough to be wary of the likes of her, she suppose that she will find out soon enough of her intentions, wouldn't she?

And so, for now would she stay her hand. Simply surveying this creature of darkness before her instead.

"... Heh heh heh..."

And daintily would she conceal her rising grin and laugh with a raise of her wrist, a sheen of steel cutting itself across with a streak of moonlight. The sound eerie, like a flute of nothingness but played out into the cold night air itself.

"... Why, was there even any reason to be~?"

She but of course jests, having had too many underestimate her since the very beginning... An unassuming figure when among an ARMY OF DEMONS themselves. The sight, however, of a vibrant, graceful butterfly dancing across a bloody battlefield-- would be the last thing that person would be allowed to bear witness to.

SPECTRA MUSES

Takatora / Yūjirōdono, he/him

Born into a branch of Spectra's ruling family during the unification wars, Takatora was chosen at eight years old to become heir to the childless warlord Nōhime. He spent the following years under tutelage in his parent's home until he moved to the capital at twelve. He took to the new role of junior warlord well, proving himself a talented lad with ideas worthy of being heard.

Soon after joining Nōhime he accompanied her on a trip to Chrysalia and met Hiina, the daughter of Chrysalia's ruling warlord Ruolan. Unused to children acting like children his initial reaction upon meeting Hiina was "why is she like this Nōhime I want to go home". Despite first impressions Takatora and Hiina quickly developed a strong friendship based in their interests in the abilities and homes of the other.

As young adults the two entered into a romantic relationship and had a child. Takatora, though wanting to be a good parent, knew only how to interact with older children and spent most his time in Spectra while the child was raised by Hiina in Crysalia. Parenting drove a wedge between Hiina and Takatora, and things came to a head some years later when Takatora was wed to a Spectran noble and sired legitimate heirs.

Being around his new children from the start and with the help of caretakers Takatora was able to smooth out the rough patches in his parenting, though the damage had already been done to and with his eldest child. It was not until several years after his legitimate children were born that Takatora was able to mend his relationship with Hiina.

Nōhime passed away in the years between Hiina's child being born and Takatora's wedding. Upon becoming warlord Takatora's name was changed to Yūjirōdono. Even as a youth he possessed great power as a spirit medium and throughout his leadership Spectra's spirits were peaceful.

Sayo, she/her

The eldest of Yūjirōdono legitimate children. Haughty to those not in her immediately family. Lonely but doesn’t know how to interact with others without giving orders. Bright and inquisitive in all the ways her mother is not and has already outstripped her maternal parent in terms of channeling and dealing with ghosts.

Akito, he/him

The younger of Yūjirōdono’s twins. A more powerful medium than his sister with a better head for battle strategy and an aptitude for leadership when things grow hectic. While Sayo takes over after Yūjirõdono’s death, Akito is more co-warlord than junior. Less isolated than his sister, but callous. Figures if people don’t like him they’ll go to Sayo and give her the warmth she doesn’t know how to ask for.

Kaede, she/her Yūjirōdono’s wife from a minor Spectran noble house. While she has some talents as a medium and knowledge to match she is on the whole rather dull and not very imaginative. She was chosen as the bride of the warlord specifically for keeping the bloodline strong without causing the same problems Nōhime did. Pulled the wool over everyone’s eye (including mine) by being cunning enough to be boring. She gets to live in luxury and all she had to do was give birth once. We salute her. links: pumpkaboo

Bokuzen, he/him The child of Yoshi and Junkei, Bokuzen was raised to follow in his mother’s footsteps and serve Takatora when he came to lead Spectra. While he and Takatora remained friends Bokuzen took more after his father and became a manufacturer of guns. links: gengar (pl)

HYDREIGON nobunaga met zweilous in the mountains surrounding azuchi at thirteen. it evolved during the civil conflicts that occurred during nobunaga’s election. hydreigon is the most heavily-scarred of nobunaga’s partners, due to several altercations both during and after the unification wars. the worst of the scarring appears on the right side of the middle neck: several wide pink lines that stretch from base to skull and some that circle the underside of the jaw. minor scarring exists on the smaller necks and around the back where the throats connect to the body. while affectionate towards nobunaga and those he cares for, hydreigon is still something of a loose cannon. primed for fights and easy to unhinge, it undergoes a rigorous training program to ensure it remains obedient. its favorite order is “kisses”.

ZEKROM though hydreigon was unable to battle after sustaining wounds in the unification wars, nobunaga continued to fight on the front lines. during one such battle was when zekrom came to him. nobunaga was unable to handle the raw energy that entered him with the new link and lost the use of his right arm. despite the results of their meeting, zekrom was welcomed with love and awe in the northern army. after nobunaga’s loss at infinite tower, zekrom disappeared. it returned to nobunaga after he was declared shogun. that time, nobunaga was able to control the lightning.

RAYQUAZA it was rayquaza who sought nobunaga during the early years of his campaign, searching the globe until it found the warlord in ransei. rayquaza prefers to live in the skies above ransei rather than among its lands and peoples. the dragon has a link with nobunaga that does not fade over time and distance, and has an uncanny ability to appear when nobunaga needs it the most. come rayquaza black as night is its full name.

GABITE originally nagahide’s partner and perfect link. it survived nagahide’s death thanks to nobunaga’s stubbornness in keeping it alive. gabite was not used in battle, and never linked with nobunaga out of their mutual respect and affection for nagahide. the dragon shocked everyone when it garnered a link with nōhime. it remained in azuchi castle with nobunaga until he became shogun, when it went to spectra with nōhime.

NOIVERN tsuchida’s dragon left the grounds of azuchi shortly after her death and returned to the wilds. it makes bi-yearly visits to tsuchida’s children when its flock migrates between hunting grounds.

SAKURA a shiny dratini who was given to nobunaga by ranmaru and named by oichi. she lives in nobunaga’s sleeve and acts as nobunaga’s hand when he isn’t wearing his prosthetic. catching skills 10/10. writing skills 2/10 credit for trying.

LIEPARD a purrloin in owari with a mangled front leg met nobunaga when the child brought it home to be treated. while the leg couldn’t be saved the cat was, and the three-legged creature has always remained to greet nobunaga on his visits.

GYARADOS azuchi’s magikarp ponds house many of their namesakes. nobuanga never linked with any of them, but one in particular grew a bond with the boy. now evolved, gyarados will sometimes return to the rivers of azuchi for the pets and snacks nobunaga supplies.

RATTATA of the alolan variety. it sits on nobunaga’s shoulders all day and eat candy, plus they have matching mustaches. it is, in nobunagan’s own words, adorable.

PICHU au-based. Nobunaga’s first link in the verse, met down south while studying in greenleaf.

The director of the Kimutaku movie said that he wants to depict Nobu through a realistic lens as much as possible (by taking into account Sengoku era culture, traditions, etc). Not glorifying him through modern POV.

I agree with this approach, but seriously, what's driving me insane is the Nōhime portrayal in the movie. Like, I imagine what they wanted to do is to say that "samurai girls can do martial arts too, not just sit and look pretty", but the teasers are... not... looking great.

Maybe for Japanese people that's fine, but for someone like me who has seen way too many misguided StRoNG wOmAn characters in fiction, I'm just highly skeptical already.

For all I know those scenes are clickbait and in context it might actually be fine, but... fffs.
