Star Trek Femslash Week!

Welcome! This is a blog dedicated to the relationships between the women of Star Trek. This blog is run by two queer women who love femslash and everything Star Trek. Whether you ship Saffi, Jola, Cha’an, B7, Kiradax, Troisha, Borgnes, J7, or T’Lyndi and the many more amazing femslash couples out there, we invite you to follow us and consider participate in Star Trek Femslash Week!

On 1st May 2023 we will be releasing a participation survey to see how many people are interested in the event. This will be open for 2 weeks.

On 15th May 2023 we will open up prompt suggestions for 1 week so we can gather all your ideas.

On 22nd May 2023 voting will be open for the prompts for 1 week! The prompts with the most votes will make it through.

On 1st June 2023 the prompt list will be out! Start those plot bunnies up and begin typing and drawing!

3rd – 9th of September 2023 we will post daily and reblog all of the amazing works produced.

Please tag your work as startrekfemslashweek2023 and we also will be opening up a collection on AO3 if you would like to add your fics to it.

Femslash Fortnight 2022

An initiative to come together and create more fan content for our favourite ladies!

After the successful event last year, we are organizing another fortnight!

The two-week long event will take place from the 23rd of July to the 7th of August, 2022, and will feature daily prompts for visual and written content! You can also create written content for a visual prompt and vice versa; we just wanted to make sure there were options suitable for all types of media you may want to create!

Unlike last year, this fortnight will be open to all Star Trek femslash, although we are still primarily promoting it for Discovery. There will be an 'other treks' tag for all non-disco creations we reblog, so if you are only interested in Discovery you can block the tag and still follow. All works will be tagged by their respective shows as well, so bring on the R/7 or Keytegas or whatever else you can think of!

There is no minimum participation requirement, every submission counts, and the prompts are the same for both weeks: if you for example want to paint something for both Mondays, you can either make something to an aesthetic in one week and something emotional the other, or create several posts to the same prompt - you can even submit several posts a day!

Writing prompts - fanfic, meta, playlists, rec lists, etc.:

Tuesday - Reunions or Confessions

Wednesday - Intimacy or Getting Together

Thursday - Gifts or Food & Drink

Friday - Humor or Song as Inspiration

Q: What is the Star Trek Winter Gift Exchange?

A: This is an anonymous fanworks exchange for any fandom within the Star Trek universe, from The Original Series to Strange New Worlds!

Q: How does it work?

A: When you sign up, you’ll make three requests. Once sign ups close, the mod will send you the url of the person you’ll make a fanwork for and their requests. You’ll have the month of January to fill one of the requests. Make sure your ask box is open so I or your Secret Santa can contact you!

Q: Do I have to make fanart/fanfic for the exchange?

A: Nope! All types of fanworks are welcome :) Fics, art, edits, moodboards, podfics, among other things! As long as you’re creating it, it’s welcome.

i remember when disco came out and i saw a poll of michael x tilly fans voting on what they thought the ship name should be, and Milly won by a long shot, because having a ship name you can’t put in searches At All without getting random posts about/by people named Milly was obviously the smart move when Mylvia, totally unique, was Right There

i may not be a fan of portmanteau ship names, but mostly i just wish people would have the brains to work out that if the portmanteau is just a common name or word, they’re utterly useless as a label

There will be another Femslash Fortnight this year!

We plan for it to be around the end of July - beginning of August, so follow us @discoveryfemslashfortnight for more updates!

This year we thought we'd open the fortnight for all Star Trek, new and old! It's a bit of an experiment and we're keeping our url and all for now, but we'll promote and reblog content for all shows.

The prompts will largely be the same as last year with some new additions, and of course there will still be a Free Choice day so everyone can join in! We are also open for all kinds of fan content—written, visual, audio, and more.

I've never seen Discovery but I know exactly 2 weeks into being roommates with Tilly Michael goes on Space Yahoo at 1 am (because google does not exist in a utopian future) and takes a bunch of Am I Gay? quizzes and the first one tells her yeah probably and she goes "as a scientist I need multiple data points to draw a conclusion from" so she takes two more quizzes, very purposely choosing the straight options and goes to sleep completely sure of her heterosexuality
