a/n: YALL I FUVKING DID IT AND IM TERRIFIED OF THE REPERCUSSIONS

prompt: y/n and rodrick have been friends for a long time, so long boundaries seem to be blurred

you’ve actually known rodrick since elementary school

it all started when he asked you to join his band

“i can play drums, you can play the tambourine because that’s the only other instrument i have! it’ll be wicked!”

your band lasted a week and only had one gig, it was for rodrick’s parents

who LOVED you by the way

they somehow permitted you to sleepover almost every other day, you practically lived at their house

FOR YEARS you did this

terrorizing lil greg

“what’s he gonna do, pee his diaper?”

“rodrick!!!”

always trick or treating together, exchanging candy when you got back go his house (or occasionally yours)

you guys didnt like hanging at your house, your parents were kind of....a lot to handle

starting middle school together, wreaking havoc on all the teachers

rodrick did it to impress you, according to mr. and mrs. heffley

but he’d give you a stupid little smirk from across the classroom after he got scolded so you believed them

whenever anyone gave you shit at school, rodrick wouldn’t hesitate to step in and show them who’s boss

“rodrick, you’re gonna get detention again!”

“yeah, well, i’m not gonna let them be mean to you”

you went to his house after school most days, sometimes you’d get there first while he was in detention

mrs. heffley had after school snacks

“y/n, why don’t you play some video games with greg while you wait for rodrick to get home?”

playing wii sports with greg, who cried when you won

you also had time to do homework while you waited, rodrick usually copied afterwards

when rodrick came home, he’d drag you to the garage to show you his drum skills

he hit himself in the head with his drumstick

next step was high school, which was a weird step up

but you guys had each other

you still spent most nights at the heffley residence, but you had to sleep on the couch instead of on the floor in the attic (aka rodricks lair)

“you two are growing up, so we think it’s best that you don’t sleep in the same room together, right?”

rodrick emptied one of his drawers for you to put your clothes in

but you still end up stealing his clothes half the time

“i wish i could be mad, but you wear all of my clothes better than me”

subconsciously doing couple-y things without realizing it

like rodrick would pull you closer to him when you two were together, put his arm around you, give you his jacket, etc

watching his band practice and cheering him on no matter what

sometimes you’d have a pretty hard time at home and show up to his house at odd hours, but you were always welcome

you laid on top of him while he rubbed your back and told you that he was there for you

you completely cussed out the rest of his band before they went on bc they had the audacity to replace him

you and rodrick were moving around a bunch and ended up next to each other sitting against the wall of the van

you looked over at each other and hesitated before leaning in to kiss

and you guys kissed for a while

okay, so, you made out on the floor of his van with led zeppelin playing in the background

Ok so I've been stalking your blog for the past couple of hrs after seeing your TadaAi posts (I'm drowning in the period drama that is this ship) and I find you ship Tododeku and rinharu (god i can't stand bakudeku and makoharu) and seems like we share a lot of our views on fandom and ships probably because we're older (I'm 22). Followed and looking forward to your input in the future!

Also you might've given me the motivation to finish watching Free! XD

I knooow, I can’t believe we’ve got a gay “master who fell in love with his servant” ship in the anime, just what I needed for my idiotic collection lmao

But also these two have too much going on between them, so much wasted potential in my opinion, it’d be so interesting to explore (but sadly no xD), they were still the only interesting thing for me lolz. I love complicated morons, who became the victims of a huge unrequited requited love misunderstanding, bc they’re insecure morons lmao and they just have 2 of my fav ships vibes, so it’s probably mostly this haha.

Oh, I’m inputting *wink wink*, can’t wait to finish the vid, I’m having too much fun with it. I’ve just literally spent several minutes trying to get whether I’ve put Tadashi’s sexy mole in the right distance from his eye in the “him moaning on the table” manip lolz. What can I say... I picked the best hobby, with all the support I’m getting with my vids, I’m living a dream xD

You know, I think I’ve said it before, but when it comes to bakudeku, I at least understand what ppl hope to see there and why, but like.. it’s just not happenning. Also imagining Bakugou lovingly hugging Midoriya is just so OOC I start laughing all the time. And whatever ppl say, in any ship whether they’re enemies or rivals or anything, if you can’t imagine them being tender with each other, smth is not right in my opinion. Also once again, who needs idiotic bleating Midoriya, idk. I’m just tired of the endless “die, deku/out of my way” yelling, I like watching Bakugou going to parties and amusement parks and doing silly stuff, too. Like I’ve said before, pride won’t ever let him change the way he behaves with Midoriya, even when they’re doing “great”. If he was the one, it wouldn’t have mattered, no matter how tough you are, and it wouldn’t take that long. I also don’t think they’re that kind of relationship, like they move each other for sure, sometimes, yeah (not always in a good way tho), but be together in a relationships? Can’t imagine that. Like not all rivals have the rivals to lovers dynamic, no matter what ppl say. But I get the shipping, bc 1stly these two are playing too huge of a role in each other’s lives, 2ndly Midoriya is obsessed with him and Bakugou obsessed with him too (just in a bad way lmao) and 3rd ppl want that “enemies to lovers” dynamic, since many love it (me included, when it done right and progresses right), so they’re trying to write that “to lovers” bridge, that just doesn’t fit here in my opinion, simply bc Bakugou won’t be soft with Midoriya, like ever in a way, you’d want, and I don’t think it’s possible for them to go there.

Tododeku on the other hand, 1stly they also play too huge of a role in each other’s lives, 2ndly Midoriya is obsessed with him too and Todoroki is lovingly obsessed with him in return, 3rdly they are also rivals to lovers, and I have no problem imagining the second part, it won’t be OOC, 4thly Midoriya when he’s with Todoroki is my fav Midoriya, he’s happy, he is cocooned and he’s badass af (and like when he told Endeavor to fuck off or yelled at Todoroki “the fuck are u doing?” xD are still the best), 5thly Midoriya forgets about Bakugou, when he’s with Todoroki a lot and it’s just funny to me, 6thly they healed each other so nicely, I can’t not be into that, 7thly when they’re together I have like 0 worries, idk I’m like “he will catch him” anyways haha, Bakudeku just don’t give me this vibe. It’s like yeah, they won’t let each other die, but it’s always this chaos of “out of my way”, “I don’t want your help” and “let me punch you before I punch the villain” that I’m just “oh for god’s sake, pls bring in Kirishima and Todoroki so we could just go home, it could’ve been solved in 2 minutes” lmao. Etc, etc.

Tododeku just have too many winning points over bakudeku for me, same with kiribaku over bakudeku, even tho I 100% get bakudeku as a ship ofc. Also idk whether things would be different if Todoroki wouldn’t exist in the equation, but the moment I saw that s2 scene where Bakugou started yelling and Todoroki just ignored him and was like “was Midoriya always this good?”, there was no going back to me XD. Like they both obviously see that Midoriya is wonderful, but only one reacted to that in a way that I wanted. And I’m a sucker for the ships who don’t give a fuck and like “yeah, I find him amazing and everyone should know that”. Todoroki is also one of those guys, who if you give them the much needed love, they’ll return it tenfold with a forever devotion. And all of my fav ships are like that: Yullen, Rinharu, Mikayuu, Wangxian, Akakuro, etc. They’re like “well, I ain’t an idiot to let someone this precious go”, you know lol

On the other hand, when it comes to Kirishima, Bakugou can do all kind of ridiculous thing I wouldn’t imagine he would do to keep him or make him happy, you know. Kirishima is also the only one, who can put his arm around Bakugou without it being cut off, so I don’t make the rules here lol.

So it’s not like I can’t stand bakudeku, more of like can’t imagine this work, to me it’s easier to imagine todobaku in a relationships, but not bakudeku lolz.

But when it comes to makoharu, I just have a huge problem with it and I will never get it. Bc they don’t bring anything good in each other like AT ALL, I don’t even understand what kind of relationships this is from their shipper point of view; they give each other nothing, and one of them is totally in love with someone else and wants a future with him. And that someone also head over heals with him and also wants a future with him. And I hate how 99,9 % of mh fans don’t give a fuck about Haru or Rin whatsoever and just ignore their character’s everything. Bc Makoto. I’m also like if you love him so much, the fuck would you want him to be with Haru anyways, dude doesn’t reciprocate, like at all. I’m at confusion, like name good points of this ship and what good can they do for each other characteristically. There is none, it’s like a damn swamp. Like usually I can give my notp some points, but this is like... they’re both no good for each other... like... why would anyone even want this idk. Don’t tell me “for the childhood friends” one-sided dynamic, like why won’t you also ship Shion with Safu then, like even he seemed more invested in that, than Haru in makoharu lol.

Even if you think of them from the point of view of “the two who are always walking together” ships, that are everywhere nowdays (even tho since Haru moved to Tokyo, he was always with Asahi instead), but even if... those kind of ships are usually at least make each happy and are enough for each other. Haru on the other hand, when he doesn’t have Rin, he is walking with Makoto like a ghost, not even caring if he’s talking next to him AND he’s getting ennoyed by him. Like explain, how someone’s shipping them romantically. It’s been showed like 20 times, that with Rin, but without Makoto, he can be perfectly happy, without Rin tho, he never is.

Also someone explain, what exactly is the point of splitting up two characters, who are happy together, make each other the best versions of themselves and want to be together whole-heartedly? Like I know many start shipping smth, bc the relationships are better in the other pairing, for example, but this is like... definitely not the case here. Like what exactly is missing in rinharu, that makoharu has? Lack of progression and mutual inspiration?

So yes, if you’re into rinharu, totally finish Free! They’re like doing sooo incredible and holy shit they’re inspiring, I mean, look, they’re now the tokyo olympics ambassadors, like how many of yall gay ships reached that? you can’t miss out on them, and also they’re so hilariously romantic, they literally made a wish to swim with each other since they were 13 and did everything to get each other there, I’m.. you’re lying, if you didn’t cry watching them as chibies making wishes on a star and watching them now. One of the most wonderful development in my opinion. Like who would’ve thought back in s1, that we’ll get Haru yelling on top of Rin about how he made him want a future with him, def not me lmao and now all the olympics boyfriends fanfiction are true, I mean, idk what to say anymore. I miss them so much, I can’t wait for the movie :D

interests: i am jus a liddol punk boy.. thas all.. i cannot change this. but really i genuinely am super passionate about rock music and punk subculture! i’m also super into horror everything, whether it’s visual art, movies, music, etc. my main hobby is art, i usually do portraits filled with lots of symbolism and macabre elements. i’m going into education as a career bc i care a ton about students and want to improve the system…

Let me get this out of the way first, I know Caspar isn’t much of a hunk pre-time skip, but POST-time skip, now those are muscles my dude, but I digress. Caspar is a very easygoing guy, albeit hotheaded. No matter how awkward or strange a person may be, Caspar won’t hesitate to approach them. If there’s someone who wouldn’t be daunted by your intimidating mien, it’d be Caspar. Just like Caspar, you care a lot about people. While you express this through sentimentality, Caspar shows it through his sense of justice and love of fighting (the irony). By virtue of the importance he places on justice, it’s only natural that he’d want a partner with the same set of values, such as yourself. That being said, considering how reckless and headstrong he can be while “executing justice”, he also needs someone who won’t egg him on but instead calm him down or make him reconsider his actions before going through with them. So overall your shared feelings of sympathy for people, as well as his rashness and your rationale combines would make for a good balance between the two of you. In addition to what I’ve just mentioned, because of how eager Caspar is to step in and help people, whether that’d be by defending someone, or helping someone with their chores, as seen in various of his supports, I'd argue his love language is also acts of service. Caspar mainly focuses on defending the innocent and enjoying life, so he’d definitely encourage you to be carefree and funny, and would probably unintentionally be an enabler of sorts at times, his more laid-back lifestyle eventually rubbing off on you. It’s difficult to say whether Caspar seldom feels depressed or not, but what is apparent is that he encourages people to live their best life and stay true to themselves, in your case, to fight and free yourself from your depression. As we all know, Caspar is the second son in his family, so as he himself puts it he has to carve his own path, thus he’d probably be very very supportive of your desire to improve the education system, whether that’d be by granting better access to different opportunities, or equipping students with the skills needed to succeed in life.

Headcannons:

If you were to get flustered around Caspar because of his looks, well you’re in luck, he’ll probably never figure it out, he’s denser than a rock :D (yay?).

It’s probably for the best that you be as blunt as possible with Caspar, in regards to, like, everything, especially when you’re trying to flirt or something of the sort, if not, it’s gonna be a hella awkward and mortifying experience (I'm cringing just thinking about it).

Perfect height for you tbh, pre-time skip he’s kinda short, but taller than you, and post-time skip he is taller and much more muscular.

Also, be careful what you wish for. As much fun as it is to spend your days held against a big strong chest, he might get overly enthusiastic and crush you in a hug with his muscles, just mentioning this as a precaution.

In all seriousness, he might not initiate any type of physical affection on his own, but once you do, he’ll very gladly reciprocate it.

It’d probably be a bit jarring when Caspar first approaches you, like you’re used to people being a bit wary of you, but Caspar would probably immediately ask you if you want to spar with him and afterwards asking you if you want to have lunch with him or something like that.

Caspar may not be the most clever, but he is definitely one of the most heartfelt people out there. Once he knows how much you struggle with you’re mental health he’ll be the most supportive boyfriend you could ask for. You might need to clarify some stuff for him, but he’ll always try his best to help you. And when you start showing your funny and carefree side, Caspar will be the find your jokes the funniest and your joyfulness the brightest.

In another life, Caspar would also probably be a little punk boy (and a metal fan as well, he’s definitely the type to enjoy screamo lol)

A lot of people might be put off by horror stuff, but Caspar would probably just find it intriguing. He’d probably not understand the nuances behind it, but if it makes you happy, he’d support you to the best of his abilities.

He is ecstatic that you want to improve the education system, and he is always so proud to tell others about your career (maybe a bit too much lol).

Caspar likes animals as well, together you’d take on the responsibility of caring for all of the stray cats and dogs in the monastery. You are also notorious for adopting animals. Like who needs children when you’ve already got a big family of your own amirite?

You two are always willing to go the extra mile for each other in whatever situation, and you never miss the chance to help each other out. Whether you two declare your love for each other often or not, it’s when you are willing to do anything for one another that you realize how in love you guys are.

Online, I’m probably just really tired and don’t have the energy to be upbeat and/or talk to people. In real life, it’s nothing abnormal; I hate my voice so I don’t talk much and I like quiet. If I’m not using a bunch of emojis (you know how I normally do) when I’m talking, you know I’m either being super serious, or I’m pissed off, or both.

Kind of. I believe that no relationship is ever perfect, but if people gel well and COMMUNICATE OFTEN AND HONESTLY the relationship can be amazing. I guess it’s its own kind of perfect relationship. iron fist s1 review: beware, it wasn’t actually terrible

I FINISHED IRON FIST BROOOOOOOO

Ep 13 was cool, I liked that everyone finally came together (except Joy who tires me)

WARD PUT UP NEW PORTRAITS OF HIMSELF AND DANNY I have so many feelings about this, like how hilarious it is and how much it sucks for Wendell Rand like ok we’re just forgetting he’s dead and that we should honour him or whatever I guess MOVING ON

Davos you dumb hoe I was totally on your side and now I have to move you onto the same shit list Ward just barely got off on account of his lacklustre help during the final showdown. u come for danny. i come for u

Colleen Wing OWNED this series my dudes, I adored her in this, she had such a fantastic, full arc and I’m really looking forward to seeing more of her!

Claire Temple needs a two month holiday in the bahamas and to not be around super-people. I’m worried for her blood pressure

I had to stop and remind myself every now and then that all these people live in the same world as Bucky and T’Challa and Scott Lang and I was just.... ........ amazed

The fight scenes had me Shooketh, I tried a high kick in front of the mirror and tore something inside me

I was so looking forward to a lowkey Luke cameo or something but I guess I’ll just suffer then

Danny wore Luke’s shirt with bullet holes in it I’m never going to let this go you guys

Thoughts on the controversy bc it is relevant:

I went into this show knowing that it was based on a character that wasn’t exactly a sensitive creation, which appropriated east asian culture and which was largely outdated. I think the show did a good (not masterful, there were slip-ups) job with turning Danny’s story into something quite different to what people may have expected - it was very focused on his family and intimate conflicts rather than having him be the ‘saviour’, and when they did reference Danny as being the ‘chosen one’ they made a point many times to say how flawed he was at doing the job lmao. Also calling him an outsider, and how rough the journey was for him to achieve that position - it made it feel like an earned thing, rather than him getting the gift of the Iron Fist because he was ‘special’.

The awkward moments: Danny giving Colleen tips on how to run her dojo, or showing her how to improve certain moves in her martial arts training was a bad decision in my opinion, because of the dodgy nature of the premise already. For the narrative it made some kind of sense, but they could have gone another, more conscientious way with that. Also, I noticed throughout the show that Danny had a kind of arrogance, as well as being a bit condescending to Colleen and Bakuto numerous times, which did rub me the wrong way. I chalked it up to white privilege and added it to my personal lexicon on the character - Matt is stubborn to a fault, Jessica is aloof, Luke is relentless, Danny thinks he’s invincible, no matter how many times he’s proved wrong.

Inside the story: I feel like Danny trained and studied a culture, language and fighting style that was not his own and worked hard enough that he became proficient at utilising them. He does not in any way shape or form represent them, but he knows how to wield them and was deemed worthy enough that the K’un Lun monks picked him as their ultimate warrior. From what Danny and Davos said, picking Danny was seen as as unorthodox move by everyone at the monastery, since they had never chosen an outsider before. He was an exception; there have been many Iron Fists, picked from every generation, and it seems reasonable to assume that Danny is the first white Iron Fist. He just happens to be the character whose story we’re following because of his proximity to the other Defenders and the Hand in New York.

I know this seems like a feeble argument to many, and it makes sense that people are annoyed and/or offended by the show’s premise and Danny as a character. No-one can dispute that the ‘white saviour’ aspect comes into play here, although I still don’t know whether having an Asian Iron Fist would’ve looked weird on account of Danny Rand having no prior connection to K’un Lun. Again, hardly for me to say, that’s just my opinion.

TO FINISH:

Everyone should watch and make up their own minds. I remember how much flack Batman V Superman got last year, when it was one of my favourite movies. I know the situation is a little different here on account of the racial controversy, but I hope people will approach it with an open mind. Doctor Strange didn’t suffer nearly the same amount of criticism, despite having the same problems. Iron Fist was an enjoyable show to watch, with characters you’re going to love and hate. It wasn’t flawless, obviously, but I can say I liked it better than the back half of Daredevil season 2, so.

MY RANKING:

Daredevil s1 (5 stars)

Jessica Jones (4.5 stars)

Luke Cage and Iron Fist tie bc I’m a coward loool (3.5 stars)

Daredevil s2 (3 stars)
