DUDE James sunderland is just so incredibly human it makes me insane like personally he seems so kind despite what he did. He seems like the kind of person who you'd text late at night when you need someone to just talk to but he did what he did because he was in such a bad situation. The way we see him act throughout the entirety of Silent Hill 2 and the way he reacts when he sees what he did to Mary is such a genuinely awesome reveal like even he obviously doesnt want to believe he's capable of something so monstrous. Obviously none of this is a new take for the game but man. Man it's such good writing and he's such a good character. The way he can evoke sympathy and even pity despite what he did is such good storytelling and it makes the ending where he can move on so good. It's not a hot take by any means but James is such a well written character he's one of those thag sticks with me whether I'm in or out of Silent hill
