george strait's 'check yes or no' | liz understands, okay? the parallels with their actual existence are undeniable and obvious. as much as she loves her extra-terrestrial cowboy, though, she doesn't share his magnetism to country/western. as soon as there's a twang, she's out. they do go line-dancing ONCE, for their first wedding anniversary, mostly because she's still too wrapped in the bliss of having him back - in one piece, for good - to put up too much of a fight.

Oh no it's 100% that, 'tis what I meant by the monkey brain aspect of 'MUST BREED- oh wait the Consequences'. People don't generally take the joke to completion (heh) because a good chunk of individuals with breeding kinks don't have pregnancy kinks or an actual desire to have kids, which I find funny because it's essentially instincts dangling a carrot in front of our faces in order to trick us into spreading our genes despite us having the cognitive capacity to understand the financial consequences of reproduction

I am in the horrible state in which I want to write All The Stories so badly that I can write None Of The Stories.

This usually lasts 3-7 days and always stinks. Every single story idea shows up and presents itself as a vivid expansive piece that will be easy to write and should be written soon. It is a lie. My brain knows it is a lie and thus sits back and waits five minutes for me to get bored and move on to the next idea. Yet they all clamor around in the background taking up my attention span and making it impossible to focus on any one idea.

#adventures in writing #i could list the stories that have demanded brainspace but it would take too long #there are story ideas i abandoned years ago that are suddenly crawling out of the attic and demanding attention #a lot of political intrigue fairy tales #it is the time of year for violet ink and it arrived exactly on time #as if it has a yearly appt for me to brainstorm and then leaves before i can write a word #this year i've got a more grounded political intrigue angle that'd be cool if i knew any of the politics of the world #but there are so many worlds that all pretend to be more developed than they are to trick me into writing stories there #lost library came out of the woodwork and demanded some violet ink aesthetic and some fairy tales set there #this is all made worse by the fact that i just found out about roseanna m white's new imprint for publishing royal fiction #you know my very favorite cozy genre where most of my ideas live #and i have no intention of writing anything for it but it doesn't stop me from musing over my oldest and cheesiest ideas #a beautiful tomorrow would have been perfect for that imprint #and my brain keeps trying to tell me that i should write that crazy alternate history hallmark royal romance #about the princess of california (very catholic very spanish) entering into an arranged marriage with the prince of maine #it is so silly but i would take it so seriously #because fluffy royal romance deserves some more off-beat worldbuilding #but anyway yeah it's very weird in my imagination right now stop by sometime and i'll tell you about more weird story ideas

Man I love Sandman like the whole *idea* of it is super cool to me but boy oh boy can I not handle that level of grimdark. Shout out to everyone who is able to stomach it and enjoy the show, but wow like I really pushed myself to get halfway through the season despite wanting to bail after episode one because I *loved* Sandman Overture. I’m just gonna sit over here and enjoy the soundtrack (seriously the music is beautiful and ethereal). A bit sad to realize Sandman is probably just Not For Me but I’m glad others can enjoy it.

I know it’s been a few days since I posted about this but I’m still kind of mad about the inaccuracies about the new Emily Bronte movie (2022). I know it’s “an alternative take” but so many people won’t get that and think it’s true.

I have researched about the Brontë's, especially Anne Bronte for the grad level paper I’m writing. So I know most of they’re going to claim in the movie isn’t true. Basically, Anne is going to be overshadowed by one of her sisters again. But in such an offensive way because they take the love of Anne’s life away from her (there’s evidence for this!!) and gives him to Emily instead (why?). Emily can be an empowered and powerful woman without an obvious love interest- I don’t understand why they are trying to make her more conventional than she actually was.

So in light of all that, I started writing an Anne Bronte/Bronte siblings novel on top of all the other things I’m already working on because I don’t know how to limit myself when it comes to writing projects (this will be the fifth I pick up that I’m currently working on). That movie concept just pissed me off so much. And I did the research already so- why not?

#like if the movie was a fiction story clearly labeld AU or fan fiction I'd have zero problem with it #because it looks high quality and the costumes look good #but factually it's wrong #and some of the characters are going to be wrong too #I'm just a bitter lit student don't mind me #I'm focusing on brit lit in my master's program too #Wuthering Heights is good but it's offensive to suggest that Emily couldn't come up with it on her own #though her sisters had male muses #Charlotte had Heger (the professor M. Paul and Rochester arguably)#Anne had Weightman as her muse (he's Weston)#so it's possible there was someone but it wasn't Weightman like they're going to say #in fact I think it's rather cruel to have changed the story so that the often silenced sister has her would be husband stolen from her :/#I do like all of the brontes but recently through my research I think Anne actually has become my favorite #emily bronte #charlotte bronte #anne bronte #william weightman #I should be writing my paper actually but yeah #writing #writeblr #my chatter

extended thoughts on faces colliding [where, favorite type of liplock, yay or nay on PDA]... | these two definitely gravitate toward the comfort kiss ... when situations get heavy, there’s no better reset than the touch of lips to shoulder, wrist, or cheek. if they’re gifted a more substantial moment to breathe, then there’s usually a proper meeting of mouths featuring the same gentleness and care, but meant to linger and carry them through whatever they might face until they get their next chance.

when they’re focused on making sure the other is in one piece - or helping them put themselves back together - the location doesn’t matter in the slightest. decorum will never be neglected, however.

When it comes to Valentine's Day, Aventurine can be a bit excessive...

It's not like you don't appreciate the gifts that he gives you, but the prices always make your jaw drop. What do you mean he got you 20,000 credits worth of roses just for you? They don't even look that special to begin with!

And don't even get started on all the cheesy things he do for you. The amount of chocolate he gets you, or when he takes millions of pictures with you with his "professional photographer" and pick the worst photo of you to put in his wallet is just one of the million things he does that day.

"Aventurine!" You whine, trying to pry out the photo of yourself and him out of his gloved hand. "Your not seriously planning on using that photo!"

Aventurine cocks his head, feigning innocence as he asks sweetly, "What's wrong with it, babe? I think it looks cute!"

"CUTE? I look like I'm about to sneeze!" Your baffled expression makes Aventurine laugh, his hypnotic amethyst eyes twinkling with amusement.

"That's what makes it cute." Aventurine giggles as you make a face.

ft. VERITAS RATIO

Honestly, the first time you celebrate Valentines Day you tried, and damn did you try, to Veritas to enjoy the holiday

You had taken him to a carnival and had even won him a huge teddy bear, taken him to dinner, bought him roses, (tried) to feed him chocolate. But he was tougher to crack than an oyster

However, he was nice enough to give you a perfectly scripted thank-you note, giving his gratitude for the stuffed teddy that you got for him. (You saved that note in your drawer, cherishing it like a sacred tome)

"Soooo," You grin, eyes alight as you giggle. "has this movie effectively swoon you over with the power of love?" In your hand dangled the remote for the T.V, as you lounged on the couch next to Veritas.

"Get that silly grin off your face." Pink eyes glared at yours with annoyance. "Sometimes I even wonder why I'm dating an imbecile such as yourself."

"Oh c'mon! I thought I saw a glimmer of a teardrop in your eyes when we were reaching the end of the film." You fold your arms across your chest, a slight pout on your face as you lean into him.

Veritas rolled his eyes, but a fond smile played on his face as he saw you pout, squeezing your cheeks as he mused, "It was amateur, at best."

ft. ARGENTI

Bro goes above and beyond when it comes to Valentine's Day, like seriously! He picks you roses, makes you your favorite meals, composes sonnets, and even though his actions make you roll your eyes, it also makes your cheeks heat up.

He's sweet, always trying to make you feel loved, and thats why you want to make him loved too on Valentine's Day. He's always so self-sacrificing that sometimes he doesn't care much for himself.

"I-I got you a gift!" Your face is heating up, your hands warm and clammy as you produce a box of chocolates out of your bag and presenting it to the red-haired man.

"Y'know, I'm very glad that we're dating...because your the best thing that happened to me! And I just wanted you to know how appreciated you make me feel and-" You stop as you watch Argenti's pale face flush red, green eyes filled with fondness.

"I made it myself, so it might not be the best, so if tastes weird just throw it out!" You began again, but Argenti cuts you off.

"No, no, it's perfect." A warm smile graces his face, lips curling at the corners as he stares at the box. "The thought of you spending so much time on me makes my heart almost burst."
