Sometimes I think about getting a cameo from one of the One Piece VAs cause it would mean.. so much to me hearing one of them talk to and encourage and tell me they care about and love me directly? But then I get so flustered at the thought dklnlkngs like The idea of having a cameo from Sanji??? Calling me Sun Ray????? I would die from embarrassment asking for that let alone asking for an "I love you" lsdnlksdglf

Luffy encouraging me to keep going and that he's got my back??? Robin telling me she's proud of me???? Nami giving me encouragement that I'm stronger than I think and that they all care about me?? Usopp telling me that I'll always have my nakama??? I would get so emotional it would be so touching.

Maybe one days I'll get a cameo from Sanji's va since I know he does them slndklslgn I don't think I could decide what exactly to ask for though I'd have to think about it.

So I finally watched Strong World!! I really enjoyed it for the most part! :D Feeling… ways about how frequently Nami is kidnapped in plots but I have a feeling that’s just cause I feel very passionate about Nami’s trauma and how those situations must make her feel ensjsjs

I loved it though! Absolutely spectacular visually and it was cool to see the pre-timeskip designs with more modern anime styling and sensibilities!

Sanji looked great in this movie as always wait who said that but I LOVED the designs in this movie! In particular Nami and Robin but the whole cast looked great during the “heist” ESPECIALLY Luffy! And Brook was probably the funniest part of this whole movie.

And while I obviously couldn’t put it here the animation in the finale scene where they’re fighting over the tone-dial was SO SMOOTH that bit alone showed me how nice this movie looked I might watch it again sometime just for the animation!

What if I was up thinking SO hard about my fictional pirate crew. God being autistic adhd is so strange like what do you mean this fictional pirate anime that i've known for less than a year feels like it genuinely resparked my passion and emotions. Like I look at the Strawhats and I genuinely get welled up with emotion. I have. Such fondness and love and respect and care in my heart for them all. They've in such a short amount of time become a second home for me and they all mean so so much to me. It's like they've always been there somehow and that finally getting into it was like being welcomed back by family. I look at Luffy and Robin and Nami and Usopp and Sanji especially and I just see... home. People who understand me and wouldn't judge me even a little bit. What I would give to be given a Luffy hug. Or to talk with Robin and find some understanding as two of the people who least expected to get into this situation but wouldn't change it for the world. To have Chopper dote on me that I should take better care of myself. To hang out on deck with Franky. To gossip and work on projects with Nami and Usopp. To listen to Brook play and sing. It's all just so... comforting. I've been sleeping to a One Piece sea sounds and character chatter ambiance video for a while now and god it just makes me ache for a place I've never been. I mean it when I say these guys are my absolute WORLD at the moment. I love them all so much and I find it hard to see that ever changing. Especially with how emotionally invested I've become in all of them. All I know is how much vibrant color and life it feels like they've reinvigorated in me. I want to hug them all so tightly.

Valentine's Week : Familial

Ohhhh familial f/os oh my familial f/os. These guys do genuinely mean so much to me you don't even know man. I'm gonna ramble about my fictional dads and siblings to my hearts content!

I'm gonna start with the Powerful Dad Quartet!

Buggy, Mihawk, and Shanks in particular really REALLY resonate with me like. THOSE ARE MY DADS! Shanks was probably the first that I connected with like family when I watched OPLA for the first time. Then I watched Film: Red and I was sold wahah. In my head he's who hypes me up and has my back the most and that's means.. alot. Next was Buggy who happened after I started my watch of the anime and got to know him better. He reminds me a lot of the irl father figures I've had in my life, which is a trend you'll see as we go on. He's explosive and impulsive and loud and kind of an ass but that's part of the fun I think. I have problems speaking up for myself and setting boundaries especially around men so the idea of him understanding and respecting me but still being his goofy and obnoxious self is.. kind of like practicing in my head, you know? MIHAWK MY DAD MIHAWK! Okay going to be honest my connection to him mostly builds off Goth Family headcanons and inserting myself into them wahah. That doesn't mean I don't have my reason's though. Mihawk is like the soft-spoken but earnest autistic dad I didn't know I needed. The kind to listen to my rambles and interests and be supportive even if he doesn't get it at all, you know? Don't tell anyone but he's my favorite lkndalkadflnk And the most recent is Crocodile! Which I don't have enough to give proper thoughts outside of I enjoy him a lot and him being in Cross Guild was the final push to just go ahead and add him. He gives me scary-dad "my daddy's got a gun" privilege's./hj NOW I CAN TALK ABOUT MY PIRATE SIBLINGS. :D

LUFFY AND UTA MY BROTHER AND SISTER LUFFY AND UTA!

When I tell you from the BEGINNING I got some little brother energy from Luffy wahah. I can't tell you the kinship I feel with Luffy and it's not just because he also gives me gender envy. I think getting a full body arm wrap hug from him would fix me and make me the happiest person on earth. AND UTA!! I need just one movie and snacks night with her and I think we'd connect instantly. Their isn't much outside of sibling energy with these two and the connections to Shanks with both of them. I realized if Shanks is my dad these two are my brother and sister and when I tell you I WAS SO HAPPY. Absolute goobers <3 Now onto the non One Piece people!!

Silver my amazing cyborg dad Silver <3 This was probably my first emotionally charged familial f/o. I learned about Treasure Planet during the emotional rollarcoaster that was 2020 and I got attached QUICKLY! He's another one of my many fatherly f/os that really really reminds me of the father figures I've had in my real life and that effects how I interact with him. Silver was one of the few characters at the time that really said what I needed to hear, you know? I saw myself a lot emotionally in Jim and watching the pep talks he was given by Silver felt like I was getting those too. Once again I think a full body beer belly hug would fix me waha.

GLAMROCK FREDDY!!! MY SUPERSTAR!! I am not immune to big robot dad influences. For all it's faults Security Breach didn't hold any punches with the characterization of their animatronics and their is no better an example than Glamrock Freddy! I was just as affected by the "way to go Superstar!" and got attached QUICKLY! He's just such a sweetie and is such a good dad he would make sure I was so so loved and supported.

AND I NEED TO MENTION THE WACHOSKI'S !!! This group genuinely gives me such soft and sunshiney feelings for a family that only exists in two movies (not to say I don't connect with Tails and Knuckles outside of the movies but them in this family format Hits Different) They are THE definition of a comfort family for me and I can't help at look and Maddie and Tom and see parents, you know? They bring me such a sense of childlike joy and carefreeness that's unparalleled. And Tails, Knuckles, and Sonic are so like. Sweet and realistic in the sense of being siblings, you know? I would gladly sign up to be the nerdy but cool older siblings in their group. I wear the badge of being the one to get us out of trouble like a BADGE!

And some honorable mentions to Astrid, Giovanni, and Wukong as well even though I don't have the time to talk about them too much! A lot of my familial f/os come from a place of projection and healing from my unhealthy home life growing up and these three mean a lot to me in that way. Giovanni and Astrid really really remind me of my own mother and the father figures in my life and through them I come to understand that more and help myself feel better about that situation I was put in. And Wukong reminds me a lot of an unperfect dad who's at least trying and learning and growing as a person as well as being a male role model I didn't get to have.

I am once again thinking about Ray during Whole Cake Island… I feel like they would go to and confide in Luffy and Usopp a whole lot. Breaking into sobs and falling into Usopp’s arms, laying lonely in the big bed in the cooks quarters that they had just gotten use to a second body being in, being one of the few people to see their captain almost in tears over the whole situation, etc.

Going to go on a ramble below the cut to keep a long post from clogging anyones dash wahaha but before I go into it have this hilarious, to me, screenshot of the draft I left myself in the middle of the night in my half-asleep state because I got this idea.

But as I was saying. Sure Robin, Nami, Chopper, and maybe even Zoro get why the situation is upsetting but no one as much as Usopp and Luffy. Those two, along with Ray, really understood Sanji. They saw him as a person and understood exactly where his head was at even if they didn’t completely comprehend the situation. Usopp of all people knows how much of a self-sacrificing bastard this cook is and Luffy knows how much Sanji personally has at stake and is willing to give up. His dream, his passions, his family (both the crew and those at the Baratie), all of it. And they aren’t buying this act that he doesn’t care about them for a damn second.

But Ray is a different story. Ray is distraught laying in bed for days and having to be coaxed to eat and drink anything by Chopper and Usopp. They had just gotten use to having Sanji back in the picture. They’d even started sleeping in the cook’s quarters along with him. And then he just up and leaves claiming he doesn’t need the Strawhats and that they don’t mean anything to him. And that hits Ray hard.

This leads to people like Luffy, Usopp, Chopper, and Franky or maybe even Brook trying to get them to come out for some fresh air. No one tries to get them to talk about it though, they know how hard this hurts for them. Everyone except Luffy. One night Ray gets up to go to the kitchen and Luffy’s sitting there. Without hesitation Luffy questions how Ray feels about Sanji leaving. Ray can’t answer, cause they can’t outside of knowing how much it upsets them. How they feel like everything Sanji said about missing them and being so happy to be with the crew again was just lies. Luffy echos the sentiment and makes some comment on how he’s ‘good at reading people’ and how he knows ‘in his gut’ that Sanji isn’t being truthful about wanting what his family is offering.

And then Luffy falters a bit. Something similar to the take OPLA had on Luffy feeling guilty about Zoro getting hurt. He feels like be should have been able to keep Sanji from getting in this situation in the first place. That his place as captain and one of Sanji’s closest friends means he of all people should have been able to keep him safe and get him to make the right decision. We have some visual symbolism with him holding the hat alluding to some doubt about Shanks picking the wrong person etc etc.

And this all leads up to the big moment where the only difference really is just that Ray is there and is a big element of the scene and their’s probably at least one scene where Ray sneaks off the Sunny and Romeo style throws rocks and Sanji’s window and the two have a scene where Ray’s pleading for him to come back to ship with them and they can get out of here and forget this mess ever happened. But that doesn’t work. At least not until the whole rescue team shows up to get their stupid wet puppy of a cook back wahaha.

Closed off 2023 by finishing watching the Skypia Saga by the way! I enjoyed it and especially Enel as an antagonist! Though admittedly I wasn’t that invested until the fight over the bell. Trust Monkey D. “i’ll do anything to make someones dreams a reality” Luffy to get me emotional over a bell ringing lmao. I’m also interested to see where the Gol D. Rodger thing goes cause I know it’s connected to Luffy maybe being related to him?

Also hey I rewatched Film: Gold and man yeah this movie is one of my favorites for a multitude of reasons snwnwnbwbw I particularly am fond of the "preparing for the mission" segment and like I'm sure it's because of the familial and homey vibes I get from it but also what can i say it's just so sweet <3 I also LOVE the outfit choices the whole movie some very nice fits for everyone but shoutout to Luffy, Usopp, and Robin in particular

Plus gotta point out Sanji what can I say <3 every post timeskip clip and movie I see just makes me that much mor excited for fight scenes with him cause it's always so visually interesting and I LOVE fire animation sm. Though I guess that kind of thing can be said about all the Strawhat's it's always fun seeing fight scenes with them especially with the new styles sensibilities.

Thinking so Hard about my therian inspired aus.... so I'm gonna talk about the newest one :} So I have an au for Ray, my One Piece self insert, where they end up ending a Zoan type Devil Fruit ! Specifically a Inu Inu No Mi : Shepard Model or a Mutt Mutt Fruit Model Shepherds Breed ! Basically a Zoan fruit that's a combination of a bunch of Shepherds dog breeds but taking visually from Australian Shepherds ! Basically everything is the same except when Ray left the Marines it was due to them eating a Devil Fruit and their super strict superior kicked them out and they found their way to the Baratie. They end up keeping being a Devil Fruit eater a secret until about Water 7 when Jabara calls them out for being "like him" and Ray freaks out, particularly because this happens in front of Sanji and Zoro two people who's opinion Ray holds very high, and that isn't really resolved until the Post Water 7 arc. Theirs a really sweet scene particularly between Luffy, Chopper, Robin, and Ray with the three of them welcoming Ray as another Devil Fruit eater in their group. They're very warm and inviting and especially Chopper is ecstatic to have someone who also ate a Zoan Devil Fruit type like he did and someone to bond over being part human part animal. The two are animal buddies! And after that Ray kind explains some more the Crew and apologizes to Zoro and Sanji in particular for that situation happening in the first place as it 'wouldn't have happened if I had just told you all'. But nothing went wrong and ultimately what's important is everyone came out of it safe.

After that point one of the new things is that Ray does is spend a bit of time in Human-Beast and Beast form. Often when the crew needs a quick scouting of an area and they don't want to draw any attention Ray is sent out in Beast form to look around. For a while the Marines think the Strawhats have gotten a pet dog with their pet "raccoon dog" kslknglksdn And the idea of like. Sanji, Luffy, and Usopp being super fascinated with Ray's Beast form makes me giggle a bit just like grabbing their tail and ears being like "Woahhhh". Eventually they get comfortable being in all three forms pretty casually even to the point of napping in Beast Form or going out in public in Human-Beast form. Can you tell this is a bit wish-fulfillment for me ksdlknndg It makes me sooo soft. I've also ben thinking about Yamato even though I'm no where CLOSE to Wano but wehheh I've kind of got a crush and the idea of a Big Celestial Dog and Little Dog puppylove romance makes me whehbkasbjsehehbefheh <3333 But that's for later me !

Assigning the Strawhats "Sleeping At Last" songs from the Atlas: 1 and Altas: 2 albums cause. I love me some songs to make me cry for the character that make me cry <3 Luffy - Light (Runnerup was absolutely 'Heirloom' though), Seven Zoro - Mercury, Joy Nami - Pluto (But also runnerup in Jupiter), Eight Usopp - The Projectionist, Son Sanji - Bad Blood (with Mars as a Runnerup lots of WCI vibes), Taste Chopper - Saturn, Sorrow Robin - Neptune, Daughter (This could have also gone to Nami but I felt Eight was more appropriate for her) Franky - I'll Keep You Safe, Five Brook - North, Smell (But also runnerup in Nine) Jimbe - Sun, Touch

Continuing my chip away at the One Piece movies with Film: Z! :} (I watched Film:Gold in the past as well but didn’t mention it here!)

I thoroughly enjoyed it!! It’s always interesting seeing a new antagonist and seeing Luffy deal with someone who he can get to listen to him eventually!

And Sanji looks GREAT in this movie! Its always great to get non-action shots of the characters that are super fluid animation-wise (hence me grabbing some gifs this time around!) I LOVED the outfits they put him in this movie as well!

Been slowly chipping through the Alabasta Saga! I think once I finish it I’m going to watch a couple of the movies :} the funniest thing about One Piece becoming a hyperfixation and splitting off into Sanji becoming a fixation is the two fueling each other lmao

I’m flip flopping between reading the manga and just watching the anime so have some Sanji panels that had me gushing nswnbssb

My current favorite gag is his battle talk being about. Cooking any enemy that isn’t human 😭 Fishmen? Filleted and cooked. Dinosaurs? Cut up and grilled. Giant yeti bunnies? Rabbit stew.

The only thing that’s close is Zoro having. Zero information at most times despite being In The Action.
