I don't like Don't Let Me Go very much, and it goes to show again that I'm nostalgia incorporated. I possess the unique talent of being nostalgic for things that were 20 years ago and things that were 4 months ago and probably for things that will be. Great.
But that's beside the point here, because what I actually want to say is: I still relate to Kells. Because he keeps repeating himself. Because he's not over shit. Because we're all shaped by our past trauma forever, no matter if others find it ridiculous, and the carousel never stops as you age. THE FUCKING CAROUSEL NEVER FUCKING STOPS.
There's no road that you cross, no corner you turn at a certain age and end up Perfectly Fine (TM).
And that's what music has always been to me: finding people that seem to know the carousel. Those who have been holding on to the same fucking ride. Because I imagine those are the people that wouldn't judge me for not having it together even now. For not getting over things. For always being defined by what was. And it's an honor sharing this ride with them.
