♫ Piano Man ♫
What would you say to a little Billy Joel this morning?  I’ve always liked this one and I haven’t played it for a while, so … In 1972-1973, Billy Joel worked at the Executive Room bar in Los Angeles as a piano player using the name “Bill Martin”.  He was in dispute with his then-recording company and took the job to pay the bills while waiting for his lawyers to straighten things out back in New…

Goats Head Soup, 1973
Image 1: (From left to right; Mick Jagger, Bill Wyman, Charlie Watts, Mick Taylor, Keith Richards)
Released August '73, each band member is depicted here wearing a veil over their faces. There were 3 different cover concepts - a goat's head in soup, the entire band depicted as centaurs (both deemed too uncomfortable or unsettling for some) and the one we all know today (Image 2), Mick Jagger covered with a chiffon veil.

25 songs that started as ballads and ended up disco: Which of these slow-to-fast dance tunes did it best?
25 songs that started as ballads and ended up disco: Which of these slow-to-fast dance tunes did it best?!? #disco #1970s #1980s #DonnaSummer #DianaRoss #GloriaGaynor #slowtofast #classics
(June 4, 2023).  In the heady days of disco, and in the years immediately after, it wasn’t uncommon for a great dance tune to begin as a slow ballad. It was a popular tactic for disco divas like Donna Summer and Gloria Gaynor and yes, even pop superstars like Diana Ross and Barbra Streisand, all of whom had hits that started with deceptively slow, simmering grooves that set a somber mood before…

- Whoever earns the most points by the end of the night will win an Amazon Gift Card!
So, c'mon! Let's do the Mash-- Mood Music Monday's Monster Mash, that is!
Final Thoughts...
- This game is for EVERYONE, whether you read, write or paint! Buuuuuut there is one stipulation... In order to win, you must be a follower of @moodmusicmonday .
- You can comment at ANY time; you're guaranteed at least one point if you comment correctly, so don't give up just because others have answered before you.
- We will stop accepting comments at midnight CST. I will post in the morning about our WINNER.
- Want more ways to earn points? Like and reblog each question! You'll get a point for each like and reblog.

Have you ever tripped Stephen up with playing a song he did not know?
Say what you want about the man, but he knows music. I haven’t ever played a song he didn’t know, but I have played one and he got it wrong.
*smug look*
He answered “Baba O’Riley” by The Who when actually it was “Best Song Ever” by One Direction.
@doctorstrangeaskblog, care to explain yourself?

The Bends and Ok Computer are very guitar-heavy albums, in terms of instrumentalization. Thom Yorke would later explain that he found the guitar difficult to work with in the run up to Kid A, and found greater creative expansion with electronic instruments.
Kid A contains no singles; nor are there any music videos to any of the songs.
It was the first Radiohead album to reach number 1 in the US charts.

You remember a track called "Ruby Tuesday?" Well, from a visual point of view, one of the funniest things I have ever seen was Bill and Keith playing a single double-bass! Bill couldn't manage it, he's very thin and he just couldn't hold the strings down and play as well, so he marked the notes on the neck of the bass in white pencil. He wasn't very sure, anyway, and he held the strings down with both hands while Keith plucked it. It was really beautiful!
Glyn Johns, from an interview in Hit Parader magazine, Dec. 1968

♫ Hit The Road Jack ♫ (Redux)
I spent nearly an hour tonight listening to songs, trying to find one  that you would all like, and finally I gave up and decided to play whatever I wanted … every now and then I just have to do that.  And here’s the first thing I could come up with … ol’ Ray Charles never lets me down! Let’s close our eyes for a minute … no, I didn’t say go to sleep … wake up, Joe!  Close your eyes and travel…
