HELLDIVERS 2 (2024, Arrowhead Game Studios)
I'm loving it so far. Fighting bugs reminds me a lot of EDF and Starship Troopers, while fighting the Automatons reminds me of the future war scenes in Terminator.
I've uploaded a Toggle HUD mod if anyone wants it:

but... id happily slip back into old habits if a sub wants to cockwarm me as i half-enjoy whatever game im playing
id probably start pretending that im still in the lobby, pressing random buttons, getting fakemad jus so they still think im playing lol
ill let them live the fantasy of cockwarming their loser incel gamer boyf cos im a giver like that <3

Wonderful Things That May or May Not Be Wonderful!!!
If you hear and are familiar with the term “video game shooter”, my assumption is that you’re probably not thinking of the Splatoon games. Makes sense, they are quite different from the pillars of the genre like Call of Duty and Doom. They’re bright, colorful, taking down the opposition is secondary to covering the entire stage in your team's color of ink, and you can turn into a squid and swim through the ink you spray. From the weapons to the stages to the gameplay to the style, there is a level of fun and creativity that is emblematic of Nintendo at their best. And while the game is primarily multiplayer, They all have great single player campaigns that carries these same traits with them. I've have a wonderful time any time I pop in for some matches and I hope that continues every time I return. Until then, stay fresh!
P.S. Splatoon 2 really should have been called Spla2n…and now that I write it out, I immediately regret everything.

Listen, gamers. I'm sorry. But I will never play The Witcher 3, Red Dead Redemption, Baldur's Gate, Skyrim, No Man's Sky, and a bunch of others I'm not gonna list here
Why? Because, as a notorious "I have to see and do every possible thing or I will explode" kind of person, AND a "I can't start with a new game until I've finished this other one" kind of person, they are my absolute nightmares.
They are no doubt masterpieces worth playing, but they are unfortunately too enormous for my lil brain to handle (= enjoy)

i miss when splatoon was fun. it feels like the whole game is just for super competitive battles all the time. which i mean, sure, i can deal with them pretty well. but it felt like splat1 and early days of 2 were more laid back, yknow? i didnt have to fight in such a hardcore way Every Single Battle. i could just have more relaxing matches and have some fun.
every time i play it anymore, i just get frustrated. it really sucks considering (consquidering) the joy it had brought to me previously.
also sometimes i dont want to have to git gud. sometimes i want to not do well and not feel frustrated abt it bc theres still fun to be had even if you arent the best. but it doesnt feel that way in this game.

Please Save The Unreal Series of FPS Games!
This is grave news, for on this day, December 14 (15 in some regions), 2022, Epic Games has made the completely shocking and inane announcement of delisting and ending online multiplayer support for the beloved multiplayer arena FPS duology Unreal Tournament 1999 and Unreal Tournament 2004 alongside their singleplayer-centered predecessor Unreal and its expansion pack Return to Na Pali on Steam and their Epic Games Store, with their GOG fates in an unclear state (as of this writing). In return, they will deem Unreal Tournament 3 X, which is a contested title in the series, as a free purchase onwards while promoting the arguably more popular yet extremely controversial Fortnite in the usual helpful manner, so to speak.
This may be a bit too demanding if not sounding pathetic, but to anyone reading this and are most likely affected by this shake-up however recently or not, *please save this veritable trilogy of quality singleplayer and multiplayer gaming from the hells of abandonware, loss of love and support from dedicated fans and makers, and, in the vein of fandoms, the feared overratedness of battle royales, unpolished AAA titles, and other such flawed gaming concepts!* It would truly mean a lot if they will be preserved from the meanness of time, age, and trending relevancy, for I and others can only do this since we don't have the capability for petitions, protests, and the like. Spread the word, people, for until then, we drift and hope...

advice for people playing new video games that are feeling dizzy or sick from them (this advice does not apply to VR games):
if it’s a console game, try sitting further from the screen, in a well-lit room. use a smaller TV if possible. if you’re worried about glare, just close the curtain/blinds/whatever and turn on a regular light.
if it’s a computer game, push the monitor farther away, pull your chair and keyboard further in the opposite direction, and consider playing in a windowed mode (the last one may not be possible on some new games). and again, turn on a light.
the goal is to reduce immersion, in other words, to keep you from feeling like you’re “inside” the image on the screen (this is partial cause of motion sickness, when what you’re seeing doesn’t match what your body is feeling). in a well lit room with a further screen, you’ll constantly have real objects in your peripheral, and it will hopefully anchor you and you won’t feel sick.
