I've been thinking about Tong Ru and Han Muchun's connection ever since it was hinted that there's something between them. It felt really really melancholic thinking about their relationship based on the lines given to them expressing their world views, and how much they treasure having familial connections. And the last chapter dedicated to them really ruined me, LOL, I didn't see it coming. There's so much yearning between them which can't be expressed by mere words alone. Man, I love their dynamic.

i like to imagine han yuan’s residence in nanjiang is modelled after his old residence on fuyao mountain. muchun zhenren had given him the largest one (after yzm’s of course), but somehow he’d never really noticed its size. because back then, it was always bustling with life: shuikeng waddling over looking to play w her xiao-shixiong, or xiao qian being dragged over to play, or er-shixiong rushing in to show him his silly new invention. now though…the place really is too big for just one person.
