Hey, I got a carefree movie review for ya! :D
Tumblr media
What kind of review? Oh, well, just from someone who loves fun entertainment, gud characters, and plots! Not really a strict critic but just someone who loves any gud movies that are able to energize my inner child
So if you're also into that, feel free to read my future posts! Or even recommend some movies to me
Anyway, this is my first posted review but I always looked forward to doing this ever since, and it has increased after watching Under The Boardwalk that has recently came out but is unfortunately not given much chances of being seen
BUT ANYWAY, I just watched a new movie, and it's Sahara!!!
It's not really new tho, at least I think so, I actually have seen this before on MovieHD buuut it's in a different language, so I couldn't fully watch it
But today, on Netflix, I'm now able to! And, uhm... I give it a 6/10
The animation is great, especially with how fluid the snakes move (especially especially when they dance! DANCE! They have DANCING SNAKES, people! Fun!), alrighty characters and their design, it's quite funny, and fun in it's own way(?), has quite a gud atmosphere too I guess
But, I didn't really understand the story lol especially the love department
The set up felt sorta Romeo and Juliet, which I like, I mean, Under The Boardwalk has that plotline and I heavily enjoyed it >W< but this one didn't really had... Uhh, proximity with our love interests?
It was gud at first, how the introduction was set up with our characters and their world, especially the part when Ajar and Eva disguised as each other's species which for some reason itched my brain right when they first met... But that was kinda it
They then sorta left their homes and then it went from Romeo and Juliet to Finding Nemo? Because Eva got captured and then Ajar is determined to rescue her, like bruh, you don't even know her???
I was honestly routing Ajar and Gary (Eva's brother) more, and Eva and the uhh white snake lady instead, to be honest with you XD
Because Ajar and Gary had the adventure that I thought was gonna happen between Ajar and Eva (oh and there was also Pitt, Ajar's scorpion friend that sorta... tagged along... same as Gary but he was basically kidnapped lol)
Ajar and Gary had to spend time together, same as for Eva and White Snake (sort of), and yet the main two snakes – that barely talked to each other for more than two minutes in the beginning and then meet again at the end being all swooned that one of 'em sacrificed their body and energy for someone they barely know – are the LOVE INTERESTS?!
But hey at least the ending's sorta funny
I also didn't mention the antagonist yet •>• it's just a human guy that hypnotizes snakes with a flute like blingin' Pide The Piper, he's the one that makes the snakes dance or dance fight, fun! :D
He's sorta creepily intimidating, but in the end his creepiness leveled up but in a weird way ;-; I mean, bruh, he was consistently managing to chase down Ajar to get his flute back DURING A BLINGIN' SAND STORM?! All while jumping on buildings and stuff yet managed to just pop up in front of Ajar out of nowhere?! HOW DOES THAT NOT TERRIFY AND/OR CONFUSE YOU?!
Overall tho, I was entertained, but didn't feel entirely fulfilled - so I watched Back To The Outback to make me feel better (I already seen it, but in case you're wondering, I give that movie an 8/10)
But if you want a Movie where you don't have to care too much about the characters and environment, and just watch amazingly animated snakes dance or go on an adventure, then Sahara is for you! :D

Top Gun: Maverick
10 of 10 🍿🍿🍿🍿🍿🍿🍿🍿🍿🍿
Tumblr media
WOW. Honestly, WOW! Not sure when it was the last time I held my breath during a movie that often. Not sure, I ever experienced an audience applauding after a movie. But today I did and I joined. Because that was an amazing movie.
Super nostalgic, but with a modern story. All those flight-fight scenes in these scenic landscapes. It's just hits different when there is not only CGI and greenscreen in a movie. The mission they are on is thrilling as hell and besides all that the relationship and drama between Maverick and Rooster is deep and emotional and I actually teared up in the end.
And I really hope there will be another sequel with Miles Teller as Rooster as the leading role, because he fucking rocked it and I would be happy to see more of this new generation of Top Gun.
They have a run with doing sequels to classics from decades ago. I celebrated Ghostbusters: Afterlife as well.
Check out what else I recently watched > here.
Cheers, A.

Watched the FNAF movie it was so fun! There were some moments I wasn’t expecting but there were a lot of things I enjoyed since I was a child. Seeing it being played out on screen was so fun I was geeking.
⚠️spoilers for the FNAF movie ahead!⚠️
Tumblr media
🛸The movie followed a lot of things from the storyline that was built up for the FNAF movies. It followed more so the first game with some added things from I believe the books and of course a bit from other games. The animatronics were super cool to see in action in this movie. The behind the scenes was cool to see as well. Seeing that there were puppeteers who controlled them, they truly brought the characters to life! There were cameos as well from some highly special people in the franchise. Coreykenshin and Matpat and there were a few more on the wall for “employee of the month” Aaaand of course the spring lock scene was weeeellll done my inner child was waiting for this moment since I first seen it! Waiting till the very end you also hear the music box go off as well as some words being spelt out like the mini games. Spelling “come find me”. I could go on and on about this but just know they had a lot of fun hidin or not hidin things for the FNAF fandom. Seeing it all being played out was amazing!
Tumblr media
⭐️Rate: 3/5
I am giving it a 3 out of 5 only because it was a bit off to me in some moments that played out. An example being the fort making scene. I felt scenes like this through the movement of the movie a bit off. There were also some small scenes between Mike and Vanessa I felt that could’ve been played out a bit differently. However these things I did understand why it was the way it went. I still highly enjoyed the film and would definitely watch it again and hope for more of the film adaptation of it. Also highly liked that the making of this movie everyone wanted it to be targeted for the people who grew up or big fans in general for FNAF, and that I think they did pretty well!

LOL (2012 - Lisa Azuelos)
rating : PG-13
if you like chick flicks, you may or may not like this movie. i personally love watching chick flicks but this movie gets a low rating for me. the movie starts out with a rebel teen named lola (everyone calls her “lol”) and she recovers from a relationship but also navigates a relationship with her divorced mom. she soon later falls in love with her close best friend kyle. throughout the movie i felt very bored by everything, i’m not even sure if this even deserves to be called a chick flick, all the movie basically talks about is sex and dating. plus i hated the student trying to be in a relationship with her teacher. nothing was really that good and it felt very bland. you can notice how this post is very short because i don't have much to say because of how boring this movie was lmao!
thank you for reading! <3

Movie Rating: Whump Edition
Movie: The Truman Show Rating: 7/10 Physical Whump: 6/10 Emotional/Pyschological Whump: 9/10 Main Whump Points: Gaslighting throughout the entire movie. A scene where a character is held at knifepoint due to fear. Creepy/Intimate Whumper with a god complex. Attempted drowning scene. Conditioning and created memories. The removal of people that try to interfere. The international viewing of a life.
Overall Review: I'm not a huge fan of Jim Carrey, but I think he did wonderfully in this role. He portrayed a man who came to realize that he was being manipulated by given a sense of false freedom, and how the effects of that can make one seem mad. It does have a bit of a strange pacing at first, but once you watch further it makes sense.

For Ellen (2012)
Tumblr media
For Ellen is a heartfelt familial drama, starring Paul Dano as a floundering musician and father named Joby Taylor. Against a backdrop of lonely snowy landscapes and a deluge of hard rock hits, the film tackles emotional weight and responsibility in a sympathetic look at a deadbeat father.
For Ellen revolves around the titular Ellen Taylor (Shaylena Mandigo) as divorced parents Claire (Margarita Levieva) and Joby (Paul Dano) bid for custody. It follows Joby in his desperate attempt at connecting with his daughter amidst the confusion, and the fracturing relationships with his lawyer Fred (Jon Heder) and girlfriend Susan (Jena Malone).
The Good
Paul Dano single-handedly carries For Ellen. It's evident that he cared about the role and its subject matter in such a delicate way: the humanity and depth he brings to the worn out deadbeat father trope is refreshing, and Joby's characterisation again shows the range of Dano's acting. He's soft and unapologetic and a little confused, and his rock'n'roll bad boy demeanour is so well thought out. At times, you forget Joby Taylor isn't a real person - Dano is sensitive and personal in that way.
The film is given a welcome addition with Jon Heder as Fred Butler, Joby's lawyer. Heder excels at looking slightly uncomfortable with Joby, but ultimately sympathetic. Shaylena Mandigo as Ellen Taylor never drags the story down with bad child acting: quite the opposite, with her sombre and timid attitude deepening the feeling that Joby is doomed.
Costume design was done by Logan Riese, and he brings Joby to life with painted nails, stacked necklaces, statement rings, and a beautifully designed brown leather jacket (I'm telling the truth, I couldn't stop looking at it). This visual characterisation is part of what brings For Ellen to life, as it fleshes Joby out until he's as real as any guy you'd find at a bar. The little touches of his chipped nail polish as the film progresses adds to the realism.
Reed Morano Walker directed the film's cinematography, featuring lingering shots of snowy landscapes at sunrise, in emptiness. The shot composition can be beautiful sometimes. There's a scene where we're watching Joby on the phone with Claire, through a small glass window on the front door. It feels intrusive, like we're listening in on something raw.
For Ellen emphasises the communication barrier between a father and his daughter, during emotionally-charged life events like divorce. Having experienced the same thing myself, I adore the film's portrayal of confusion and misunderstanding, and those endless days spent at shopping malls with a parent who can barely navigate life on their own. The vulnerability of Joby being nervous to talk to his own daughter is amazing. There is real complexity and strangeness to familial relationships - Joby even asks Ellen "what do you think about me?" and her lack of a proper response is exasperating. Of course, you cannot ask a child something like that. The audience shares in our pity on Joby and his frustration at having a daughter who does not see him as her father, no matter how hard he tries.
We never hear about the context of the divorce, nor anything from Claire's perspective. It's this that really cemented For Ellen as a beautiful film, in its dedication to examining and exhibiting Joby's mental state and the actions he takes out of desperation. We watch him spiral for an hour and forty minutes, reaching pathetic lows and powerful highs. Like I said, Dano carries this film, and its through his careful and dynamic portrayal that the intricacies of Joby Taylor come through.
The Bad
For Ellen starts off slow, in part due to the myriad of scenes that add nothing to the narrative. Scenes where a fly flies into Joby's ear, where Joby dances to Whitesnake at a bar while his child custody lawyer looks on, etcetera etcetera. I understand the artistic merits the director was likely going for, but the film drags at the start because of this, potentially pushing viewers away.
Something small that stood out to me was the line, "remember when I wanted Ellen and you didn't? And it was me who stopped you from aborting her?" Abortion first came to mind when hearing the first sentence. The additional dialogue felt stilted and over-explanatory. It's something little and unimpactful, but this film really excels at its expositional dialogue, and it was disappointing to see it slip so easily.
The Rating
I didn't think I would love For Ellen the way that I do. It could be the close subject matter, or the beauty of Paul Dano's acting, but it's the perfect type of character-driven exploration that I'd do anything to see more of Dano in. If you aren't prepared for a meandering and slow burning storyline, this isn't for you (and you should stop leaving it bad reviews!) But, if you want to see something heartfelt and dedicated, by all means enjoy this film as much as I did.
I give For Ellen (2012) an 8/10.

Y'know, there's this gripe I've had for years that really frustrates me, and it has to do with Love, Simon and people joking about it and calling it too-pg and designed-for-straight-people and all the like. (A similar thing has happened to Heartstopper, but that's another conversation.)
I saw Love, Simon in theaters when it came out my senior year in high school. I saw it three times, once with my friends/parents on opening night, once with my brother over spring break, and once with my grandparents.
On opening night, the air in the room was electric. It was palpable. Half the heads in there were dyed various colors. Queer kids were holding hands. We were all crying and laughing and cheering as a group. My friends grabbed my hands at the part where Simon was outed and didn't let go until his parents were saying that they accepted him. My friend came out to me as non-binary. Another person in our group admitted that she had feelings for girls. It was incredible. I left shaking. This was the first mainstream queer romance movie that had ever been produced by one of the main five studios, and I know that sounds like another "first queer character from Disney" bit but you have to understand that even in 2018 this was groundbreaking. Getting to have a sweet queer rom-com where the main character was told that he got "to breathe now" after coming out meant so much to me and my friends.
But also, from a designed-for-straight-people POV (which, to be frank, it was written by a bisexual author and directed by a gay man, this was not designed for straight audiences), why is it a bad thing that it appealed to the widest possible audience? That it could make my parents and grandparents see things in a new light? My stepdad wasn't at all interested in rom-coms but he saw it with me because it was something I cared about and he hugged me when we came out of the theater. My very Catholic grandparents watched it with me and though my grandpa said he still didn't quite understand the whole 'gay thing,' all he wanted was for me to be happy and to have a happy ending like Simon did. My Nana actually cried when Simon came out and squeeze my hand when his mother told him he could breathe.
And when Martin blackmailed Simon, my mom, badass ally that she is, literally hissed "Dropkick him. Dropkick him in the balls" leading to multiple queer kids in the audience to laugh or smile. Having my parents there- the only parents, by the way, out of my group of queer and questioning friends- made multiple people realize that supportive adults were out there. That parents like those in Love, Simon do exist in real life.
When people complain about Heartstopper not being realistic or Love, Simon being too cutesy, I remember seeing Love, Simon on opening night. I remember my friend coming out and my stepdad hugging me and my mom defending us through this character. I remember the cheers that went through the audience when Bram and Simon kissed and the chatter in the foyer after the movie was over and the way that this movie made me understand that happy endings do exist.
Queer kids need happy endings. Straight people need entry points to becoming allies. Both of these things can come together in beautiful ways. They can find out about more queer culture later, but for now, let them have this. Let them all have a glimpse at a better, happier world. Let them have queer joy.

Another casual Movie Review!
Tumblr media
From meee!!! :D
Hello again, we got one of my main sources to my love for animated movies/shows today, Disney!
And we got their new movie, Wish!
First off, !!🟥SPOILERS🟥!!
I watched this at home and it released in Cinema so I can't count reviewing the animation because I only got the low quality cinema vid for now. Still tho, animations are great, so ye, I'm sure it gud UvU
But we're talking more about the story, characters, and other perks!
In my first watch, I was pretty chill, entertained, and unbothered... in most cases. Honestly, I was only feeling unbothered sometimes because of the expectations of people's critics all over Wish
In my second watch tho, I was pretty bored, yet still enjoyed it somehow, but anyway–
I give the movie ALONE a 7/10
The characters are great, the songs are gud to listen to while watching (This Wish is on loop in my head tho, that one's catchy), the comedy is gud too, story is gud too!
Yeah, guys! The movie is actually not bad!
...It's just not jaw dropping that is, y'know?
The movie is a little generic but also not??? I dunno
It kept me entertained, it's a gud movie for funzies, and it's especially not that triggering at least to me, it's just not that rewatchable y'know? Also had some trouble remembering some of the characters' names even
Anyway ye, movie, okie
Easter eggs were fun to catch
(My dad even has his own theories like Asha being the fairy godmother like from Cinderella and Magnifico being the mirror like from Snow White)
...BUT—
I WANNA TALK 'BOUT SOMETHING ELSE
Huh? What? No it's not critism, I'm already done
NO, it's my favorite part of all
IMAGINING POTENTIALS!!!
Don't get me wrong, I'm not saying the movie had potential, I mean, it does in some cases but not generally
HOWEVER
If you consider their SCRAPPED CONCEPTS like these fav examples: Star is supposed to be a shape shifter and has a male human form (possible romance with Asha), and Magnifico and Amaya are supposed to be a villain COUPLE! LIKE BRO! This is the ONLY part I'm triggered by the movie honestly, because it's MISSED potential! This potential didn't come from the movie itself, no! It's from the dumps!
I'm honestly glad fanfics exist
Like imagine bruh, what more new set of formulas can you think of? Asha's father being Magnifico instead? Making her a PRINCESS?! WHOLE NEW TOP TIER LEVEL TO TACKLE– oh wait
SOMEONE'S ALREADY DOING THAT! YASSS
read it pls, it gud
Anyway, ye, that's honestly the only fun I have from the movie, imagining it's potential
But it's honestly a shame that the potential is missed rather than the potential is oozing... you confused? Okay, what I mean is, missed potential is like those scrapped concepts, oozing potential is like from the movie itself has potential for a few tweaks here and there and boom! Better movie! So ye, Gacha Every math for ya lol
Anyway, ye, it's a shame...
BUT DON'T LET IT STOP YA THERE!!!
DO SOMETHING ABOUT IT IF YA URGED TO🔥🔥🔥
YOU, ME, ANYONE, TACKLE THE INGREDIENTS! MAKE A MEAL!! AND WE'LL FEAST!!!
Artist, writer, daydreamer, WHATEVER! I JUST w i s h ;D PEOPLE SHOW THEIR REVISIONS OF THE MOVIE! Let the creativity and fun DRIVE!!!
I'M SURE I AM! WOOO!!!
Movie fine: 7/10 :)
Revision rush: 9/10 B)
Wish is gud, healed my inner child which is what my constructive criticism is orbit to, so if you're into that thing, stay tuned for more! ^w^

Hey everyone, I really wanted to reignite my love of horror and spooky movies.
Soooooo, I have decided that I'm going to challenge myself to watch 31 spooky movies in the month of October and do a rapid fire rating system for each one without getting too in depth.
The general structure will look like this:
Movie name and release year
Director's name
Disturbed level rated 1-5
Gore level rated 1-5
Suspense level rated 1-5
Overall enjoyment rated 1-5
Jumpscare count for the film
Along with a brief general thoughts about the film section! I'm hoping that posting here will keep me dedicated to this challenge!

I'm really not one for romantic movies or anything of the sort. So, my judgement on this one may be harsh. I love the actors who are in this movie, however this movie kinda fell flat for me.
This movie had a lot of potential. It just didn't go high enough to meet it.
IMDb rates this movie at 5.7/10, and Rotten Tomatoes puts it at 31%
So, I guess, everyone kinda agrees with me.
Tumblr media
The only reason this movie gets that high of a rating, is because the first half is actually good, but the second half felt really rushed.
Stay tuned for more reviews, because I watch a lot of movies.

Slower and not emotional enough for what I expected or hoped for. But it's a nice roadtrip with sweet and funny companionship with some ups and downs. You could describe it as an buddy-roadtrip movie with some emotional military background. It's ok, but nothing that stucks.
Check out what else I recently watched > here
