Are there any accommodations for people with disabilities? For example, accessible entrances for those who require mobility aids? I would assume there would be a lot of injuries from the war or at the very least from wandering monsters.
In terms of physical disabilities, there are a wide range of accommodations for helping the disabled! Accessible entrances to most shops, temples, and homes are just the beginning.
Hearing aids for the partially deaf are in the form of ear trumpets, a rather crude device into which one shouts to be heard. Enchanted pocket ear trumpets magnify the sound further, using soul gem magic to power a Dwemer-inspired... actually, I'm not even going to pretend I know how magic works.
For the fully deaf and mute, sign language is fairly commonplace around Tamriel, albeit with certain regional variations. Thieves and assassins in particular are great with sign language as it allows them to communicate silently and effectively, and the trend of learning sign language across Tamriel started with those who seek to mimic the cool demeanour of a criminal. As such, it's very practical for those hard of hearing when at least one or two people in their community know sign language!
Prosthetic limbs, generally fashioned from wood, have been in popular use for hundreds of years in Tamriel and beyond. Ranging from crude stumps to finely carved realistic or ornate limbs, it is not an uncommon sight on war veterans and victims of violence, or sick amputees. Prothestic limb wearers who are skilled in magic are also able to meld their minds with their wooden parts, making them function just as well, if not better than the real thing.
While glass eyes have always been common for the blind, but aside from realistic replicas, some Tamrielic citizens have begun wearing polished gemstones instead, a trend said to have started in the Summerset Isles. For those with poor eyesight, spectacles are the most common way to correct vision without magic. ~Talviel
PS: Here's an ESO NPC (Amalien in Solitude) who uses a wheelchair!! Which I think is very cool.

Reasons to Make a Library Card
(A list written by someone who has worked at a public library in the states for a year now)
Books/Traditional Materials: As you've likely heard many times before, libraries are a great place to get free books (normal and large print), DVDs, CDs, magazines, and audiobooks
E-Library: With your library card, you will also be to access Ebooks on websites like Hoopla and Libby. Library streaming services like Kanopy will also allow you to watch movies and tv shows for free! On top of these websites, libraries pay for subscriptions to databases like Creativebug that have tutorials for learning new crafts
Programming: Making new friends can be difficult, and finding fun things to do is expensive! Libraries offer fun programs for people to do activities (like crafts, yoga, dancing, and book clubs) and meet new friends! Most programs are free, and many libraries don't require you to have a library card to participate. Have a program you'd like to do but don't see on the website calendar? Many libraries are happy to take suggestions!
Free Wifi: In addition to free wifi and computers offered in the building, the library where I work also offers mobile hotspots patrons can check out for free wifi on the go. These devices are quite popular, so you may need to wait on a list, but they are a great resource for people who otherwise may not have access to the internet
Other Resources: Passes to local museums, video games (my library has a switch game collection), educational materials for all ages, and more!
You making a library card and using these resources helps libraries stay open and get the funding they need! Please use libraries, they're there for you!

You know the popularity of sound buttons for pets?
Ten, twenty, thirty, forty years ago, my husband's parents tried to find similar devices for their youngest son, born blind with spastic cerebral palsy, nonverbal. Father managed to find a gigantic red button to record his own voice saying things like "please take me to the bathroom" etc. And now, a couple of months ago, my husband was able to buy a small pack of four, recording his own voice so his brother hears him, so at his brother's group home it can be used for additional AAC and one on one time.
I casually mentioned it in a chat tonight, and the person was very startled, and I realized that most families don't think about shit like this.
Imagine if the other kids at my cerebral palsy therapy center in the 1980s had those convenient portable sound buttons. (Ma, we're in the future!)
Or tablets with AAC. I fucking love the AAC app on my mobile phone right now. I can barely use my palsy left hand anyway but I really just need the thumb.

Create Openbook Market ID - Raydium Market ID 0.23 SOL
What is an Openbook Market ID?
Raydium.io, one of the most popular DeFi platforms on the Solana network, requires you to create an "Openbook Market ID" to list and trade your token project on the platform. OpenBook is a decentralized and open-source tool of the Serum V3 program on Solana. Creating an Openbook Market ID is mandatory to list on DeFi platforms such as Raydium.io.
0.23 Creating a Market ID in exchange for SOL
The cost of creating a Market ID on Raydium.io is usually around "3 SOL". However, through Openbookgui.com, one of the platforms that supports Openbookv2, you can create a 100% compatible market ID for only 0.23 SOL. With this method, you can create a market ID that is fully compatible with Serum V3 liquidity. You can access the Openbookgui.com website via the following link https://www.openbookgui.com/
Note: On platforms like Dexlab, it is strongly discouraged to try to reduce the fee by changing the "Length" values. This is the wrong approach and can lead to errors in Serum V3 liquidity. As a result of these errors, users may encounter frequent errors in trading, which will seriously damage your project's reputation. I have made the video below for you to better understand all the steps and to see how easy the process is.
Steps to Create Openbook Market ID
First, go to https://www.openbookgui.com/ and connect your Phantom wallet (Openbook v2 is only supported by Phantom and requires a non-mobile device).
Base Mint: In this field you need to enter your token contract address.
Quote Mint: You do not need to change this field, but you can use USDC or USDT if you wish.
USDC Address: EPjFWdd5AufqSSqeM2qN1xzybapC8G4wEGGkZwyTDt1v
USDT Address: Es9vMFrzaCERmJfrF4H2FYD4KCoNkY11McCe8BenwNYB
Min. Order Size: This is set to "1" by default, but you can customize it if you want by referring to the table below.
Price Tick: This is set to "4" by default, but you can customize it.
You can use the examples below to customize your Tickers settings.
Review all your settings and make sure you have enough (0.23 SOL) in your account, then click the "Create" button to complete the process. Market ID creation takes approximately 15 seconds.
In my next article with more information about Raydium.io liquidity, I will try to explain the topic with simpler explanations and examples. Goodbye for now and good luck!

PLAYING "CLIQUES"
Tumblr media
Alison and her friends weren’t exactly popular at school, but that really didn’t matter because they had each other.  Every weekend the nerdy girls would meet up at Alison’s house to play role-playing games where they could escape from their average lives for a few hours and enjoy pretending to be someone else.
Recently they’d been experimenting with some different games and Alison had found a weird one in a charity shop called ‘Clique’.  It was a game all about role-playing as hot, popular girls and the winner was the character that managed to become head cheerleader and draw all the others into her clique.  Alison thought it would be ironically fun to play.
She’d followed the instructions and customised the game to fully reflect their own school.  The other girls laughed delightedly as she showed them the board with its accurate reflection of their schools room plan and they settled down to play.
As the Games-master, Alison wouldn’t be role-playing herself, but she would be supervising everything else.  She shuffled the deck of character cards, fully based on real girls from their school. She had picked the girls she hated the most - the ones that were her bullies and universally popular.  They were all total spoiled bitches, vain, beautiful and rich.  They were certainly perfect characters for this game. Turning to her best-friend Lauren she offered the cards and Lauren hesitantly picked one.
“Oh no, I got Ashley,” laughed Lauren as she examined the card, “she’s such a nasty bitch, I’m not sure I can play her.  She’s always picking on me because of my weight.”
Ashley was the nastiest of all the popular girls and their defacto leader - pretending to be her was going to be weird.  Lauren tried to adopt an exaggeration of Ashley's resting bitch face and the others all laughed.
“Then again... it would feel good to lose some weight and stop being a fat loser," she sneered.
Lauren gasped and clamped her hand over her mouth. "OMG - why did I say that?"
"Wow you sure got into character fast,” laughed Alison.
"Guys ahhhhhhh something is wrong," groaned Lauren, the smile dropping from Alison's face as her friend backed away from the table.
Lauren was tugging at her clothing and she seemed to be fighting with herself. Her face was twitching and her eyes rolling up in a mixture of pleasure and pain.
"Ohhhhh fuck, I can hear her voice in my head, her memories in my mind. What is this game? What is it doing to me?"
Lauren stretched and the others watched in horror as her skin began to ripple and move. Bones cracked as fat shifted and she moaned helplessly.
All the fat on Lauren's body began to move to her tits and her ass. Her small breasts began to swell up as her face became prettier and her hair whipped back in a tight bitchy pony-tail.
Ashley's familiar features replaced Lauren's as expensive makeup shimmered over her features and expensive manicured nails pushed out of her fingers.
Her loose fitting clothing tightened, a tight green halter neck wrap-top snapping tight around her massive new tits. They jiggled enticingly in their new slutty hammock.
Somewhere in town, the real Ashley was fading from existence as the games magic removed her from reality.
Meanwhile Lauren looked down at herself in shock as the changes slowed. She was now gorgeous and physically every inch the spoiled mean bitch that Ashley was.
"Oh my Gawd," she gasped in Ashley's insulting and superior voice. "I totally turned into that bitch."
Alison looked down at the game in shock. It was magic. It had actually turned Lauren into Ashley.
Lauren was touching herself with a mixture of fascination - but also desire. She clearly liked how her new body felt and she grinned as she checked out her reflection in a mirror. She pulled out a mobile phone - Ashley's device - and using her fingerprint to unlock it grinned as she saw she now had access to all of her former bullies accounts.
Sitting calmly at the table - Lauren grinned at her friends.
"This isn't so bad. I could get used to this," she chuckled. "In fact I think you should start calling me Ashley. I never liked that dorky name Lauren anyway."
"Lauren, we have to find a way to turn you back to normal," gasped Alison.
"Fuck that," grinned Lauren-Ashley nastily, "Look at me... I'm stacked and I'm beautiful. Oh and rich too. Why would I want to go back even if I could. This game is awesome."
Lauren could feel the words coming out of her mouth but it was like someone else was speaking them. Her massive new tits were hard and a deluge of wicked memories and knowledge was flowing through her mind like an expanding oil slick.
Ashley's memories were like a film, covering up her own and sinking deeper and deeper into her soul.
Why fight this? It feels so good. This loser Alison can't be allowed to stop me.
Grabbing the Clique board, Lauren-Ashley pulled it towards her and laughed. "I'm taking over as Games Mistress bitch."
Pulling the deck of cards out of Alison's hands she began to search through. "You know why they call this game Clique? Because you win once you convert the other players into your followers OR eliminate them from the game, you win and this becomes permanent."
Laughing she dealt three cards out in quick succession to the other girls.
She turned them over one at a time. "Sarah, you get to become my best-friend Chloe. Hannah it's your turn to be a bitch too, you're going to become Chelsea. You're going to enjoy being my spoiled rich wing-girls."
Alison watched in horror as her friends began to groan and transform. Bitchy brunette hair lengthened as the former nerds morphed into skinny, mean Alpha girls. Neither was as busty and dominant as Ashley - but they were just as evil. Dressed in matching black crop tops and blue jeans they groaned and giggled as they delightedly touched their new bodies and fell into flank their new Alpha.
"Lauren... no... what have you done?" whimpered Alison as her new bully laughed and reached out to flip over the card she'd chosen.
"I told you nerd, I'm Ashley now. Lauren is gone and I LOVE being a big titted bitch. Now let's see if you enjoy the card I picked for you?"
Alison's eyes widened as she saw that Lauren had picked Ashley's pathetic step-brother Dawson. He was a total loser and madly in love with Ashley. He followed her and her girl gang around and did whatever they told him. Rumour had it that Ashley even made him wear a chasitity cage.
As she felt her body begin to transform and a tiny cock push out from between her legs, Alison wept as the other girls laughed at her.
"Ohhh yes, that's soooo hawt," giggled the new Chlesea as she touched up her mascara. "Turn that loser into an even bigger loser and win the game."
The new Ashley grinned as the last of her old personality was erased and she accepted her new role as Alpha bully. "Looks like I win," she smiled delightedly.
"You always win babe," smiled Chloe. "That's why we're in your clique."
Looking down at his pitiful caged cock, Dawson felt his memories of being Alison fade away and watched as Ashley tossed the game into the trash and clicked her fingers.
"Come on then bitches. We have a school to run."
Like a whipped dog he followed his hot popular step-sister and felt his devotion swell.
He loved serving such a Goddess.
The new bullies would never tell anyone about the game. They didn't care that they had stolen these lives or erased their old ones.
All that mattered was being part of the Clique.
THE END

Its fucking 2 AM lets keep ranting about this! Genshin isn’t popular the way people think its popular. It is currently one of the most financially successful games ever:
Tumblr media
But it doesn’t make 20 quadspillion dollars by being the game with the highest player count - and certainly not by being the game with the highest player count in Japan. It has a ton of players, don’t get me wrong - looking like 60 million monthly users.
That isn’t that much though!
Tumblr media
All the big games clean its clock - and it looks even less pretty in Japan itself:
Tumblr media
Mobile games ranked by installs. Do you even know what that second game is, by the way?
Tumblr media
Uma Musume Pretty Derby: Horse Girl Racing & Breeding game, absolutely more popular than Genshin in Japan on mobile (which most people estimate is how Genshin is played in Japan & China, vs PC in the US). Which I am singling out specifically, because beyond just ‘numbers’ you have metrics like intensity of the fanbase, how much do the devotees talk about the game and such. That sets trends more than numbers do, right? And hey look Comiket in Japan just happened, what do you got for me - lets rank number of doujins sold at comiket in the gatcha-style games category:
Type-Moon: 848
Uma Musume: 728
Hololive: 620 (Vtuber)
Kancolle: 654
Touhou: 596
iDOLM@STER Starlight Stage: 474
Blue Archive: 446
iDOLM@STER Shiny Colors: 232
Genshin Impact: 230
Nijisanji: 194 (Vtuber)
Touken Ranbu: 192
Project Sekai: 172 (Includes Vocaloid)
Arknights: 123
Azurlane: 120
Girls und Panzer: 118
Fuck yeah Girls und Panzer. But anyway 9th place? Pretty good! Very respectable...and fucking wrecked by the HORSE GIRL BREEDING MOBILE GAME Uma Musume
How about some streaming data! Japan only ofc:
Tumblr media
So now here its pretty low, but I will grant that its the best ranking anime-style game. Genshin is popular, for sure. But all this taken in, Genshin just aint that big - its a very popular game, probably the most popular “fantasy fluffy anime game”, but its not like, insanely popular, running the show.
The reason you think its popular is two-fold; one is that its a gatcha game, so it is monitizing its player base way above other large games. Not crazily so btw, the average Genshin player has probably spent $70 dollars on the game, the normal price of a game - but still its competing with other “free” games which always have much bigger player bases, its hitting hard in relation. It is, absolutely, one of the most financially successful games ever. And the second reason is its cross-country popularity - its really rare for a game to be huge in China AND Japan AND America. The fact that its a top game in all three countries is a big feat, and it makes you hear about it, it gives it a playerbase scale from the sheer market size.
But if you are Japanese company Nintendo, making a game that is *not* a gatcha game, for a company that is famously pretty parochial about branding their games for the Japanese market uber alles, that is making a *console* game on a console that famously did not sell well in China...why would Genshin stand out to you? Its just one of the games, competing with a totally different model, on a totally different device, and in totally different markets. It is a trend, but it is not driving trends, it is not the trendsetter - certainly not for a Switch game. Engage would have no reason to try to copy it over other game styles.
TL:DR Fire Emblem Engage is taking inspiration from the horse fucker game and if you can’t prove that wrong I don’t want to hear it.

Free Apps/Assets that help me as an Indie Game Developer [Megapost]
Hi! I’m an indie gamedev who’s also in University, needless to say that I’m on a budget when it comes to my game creation. I’m making this post to organize my favourite free resources that helped me out.
Also, please note that I’m only commenting on the programs themselves, not the companies/individuals that run them.
For Pixel Art, I use/recommend Dotpict. It’s completely free, you can resize canvases and input custom sizes. It has the essential tools for pixel art creation, and is great to use on small screens with the default point-and-click system. It can also be used on larger touch screens with in “Pen mode”. It also supports animation! Alternatives include Pixquare and Resprite, which function similar to Aseprite for computer. (Resprite does have limited exports in the free version.)
I was recommended Notion by a fellow gamedev friend for organizing ideas/stories. It’s essentially a files-within-files organizer where you can make groups, add pages to the groups, and link other pages. I now use it for my concepts, and am really enjoying it so far.
My go-to for fonts is DaFont. The website allows you to sort and filter in order to only show 100% free fonts to use in your projects. I’ve been using this site for years, and from my experience each download was completely safe.
I’m an RPGMaker user, and rpgmakerweb is a great resource for finding free plugins. Yanfly is also one of the most popular picks for plugins as well. Galv and SRDude are amazing creators with some of the best plugins I've personally ever used.
Launchpad is a beat-mixer app with a literal labyrinth of samples. You can get a free trial to have access to all of them, and I’d recommend it for people looking to explore different genres for in—game music. It’s super fun to just mess around in. You can record and export as well.
FireAlpaca is my personal recommendation for a free digital art software for computer. I’ve used it in the past, and it’s truly a great free alternative to expensive art programs. Krita is also a great free option!
Cymatics is a great resource for free-to-use royalty-free samples/loops. I have a huge sound library thanks to them, and I haven’t paid a cent. Joining their email list also gets you more free packs & the occasional free giftcard.
YoutubeDL is a free and open-source program on Github that allows the safe (speaking on personal experience) download of Youtube videos, as well as audio format. I use this to download royalty-free samples/SFX that are posted on Youtube for anyone to use. You can also download a .exe from their website with the YTDL program directly in it (my personal choice).
Online-Convert is a free online file converter. I've personally relied on it to convert my music into OGG format, and I haven't had any problems with it so far. There are many other converters for lots of different needs and formats as well.
BFXR is a free downloadable program that is great for making digital sound effects for your games. I was actually recommend this program by my prof in first year. You can use all FX in any use for free!
Ibis Paint X is a free drawing app for Apple devices/other mobile devices that support pen pressure. You can upgrade to the full version, but the free version has a lot of options.
Fortelling is great for planning out stories and worldbuilding. It’s optimized for writers to keep track of their projects. You can make timelines, add characters with customizable traits & avatars, create locations, specify items/languages/species, and a lot more. There is a premium subscription version, but I’m perfectly content with the features that come with the default.
Design Cuts is a website for lots of artistic resources, including Procreate brushes, graphic design assets, and more. They give out weekly freebies, as well as an extended commercial license included with every purchase. There’s frequent sales too, and you get so support independent artists.
Feel free to reblog/add your own favourite free resources to share with other devs/artists! I’ll update this post as needed.

The last section tho:
This challenge in narrowing down search results to chat responses in an AI interface has just been highlighted by Leipzig University; its research specifically looked at the quality of search results for product reviews and recommendations.
The paper, titled “Is Google Getting Worse? A Longitudinal Investigation of SEO Spam in Search Engines,” asks whether SPAM and SEO gamesmanship has a disproportionate impact on the quality of results filtering through.
“Many users of web search engines complain about the supposedly decreasing quality of search results… Evidence for this has always been anecdotal, yet it’s not unreasonable to think that popular online marketing strategies such as affiliate marketing incentivize the mass production of such content to maximize clicks.”
In short, the answer appears to be yes.
“Our findings suggest that all search engines have significant problems with highly optimized (affiliate) content… more than is representative for the entire web.”
This is not specific to Google, of course, and the researchers also examined Bing and DuckDuckGo over the course of twelve months. Ironically, given Google’s focus on integrating generative AI and search, the researchers warn that this is a “situation that will surely worsen in the wake of generative AI.”
We have all become conditioned to judging the likely independence of search results as set out in our browsers, and we have learned to scan such results as today’s shop window equivalents. But in a world when you ask a chatbot “where’s the best place to buy a Samsung TV,” or “what’s the best pizza restaurant in Denver,” the format of your results will be very different. We all need to remember, it’s not really a chat.
The AI update coming to Google Messages is part of a trend, of course, and you can expect multiple such AI add-ons to come thick and fast, especially with Google driving much of the momentum. This should be good news for Android users.
We have just seen an official Chrome announcement on the introduction of three new helpful AI releases making their way into beta. Automated tab management and theme creation sound good, but it’s the Help me Write feature within Chrome that’s likely to be the most useful, especially on an Android mobile device.
We have also seen GMail’s own Help Me Write feature adapted to combine AI and voice, as spotted by TheSPAndroid, “Gmail's ‘Help Me Write’ can help you draft emails with ease and definitely can save you some time. Currently the functionality is available on both web and apps, but you have to write the email prompt yourself using the keyboard. On the Gmail app for Android, Google is working on a feature which will let you draft emails with voice [prompts].”
And there was the earlier news that Android Auto will use AI to intelligently filter information in and out of the system, while you keep your hands on the steering wheel and your eyes on the road.
Many positives, clearly, but that core risk in narrowing search results isn’t the only word of warning here. Google Messages chats with Bard are not secured by end-to-end encryption, and Google (being Google) will store your data and use it to improve its algorithms. Just as with other such models, be careful what you ask.
No news yet on timing, but in all likelihood it isn’t far away. According to Bard, “Google has not yet announced an official release date for Bard in Google Messages, but it is expected to be available sometime in 2024.”

[Post made on February 6, 2023] Google Search have been decline in quality, security, and convenience.
Google ads can be use by almost anyone that pay Google to advertise on Google Search.
Sponsor ads appear as top search result on google.
So, sometimes malware ads can appear as top result when search popular apps for download.
The ad results are malicious links to download malware, posing as the genuine version of app.
For example, malware ads appear when search: OBS screen recorder, VLC media player, CCleaner, Tor, and much more.
There attempts for reduce this, but it still a risk.
Suggestion:
People that still use Google Search, switch default search engine. Try out a few. For example: Qwant, DuckDuckGo, Searx, StartPage, SearchEncrypt, Brave Search. DuckDuckGo had own controversy with mobile version having trackers, though. The alternative search engines have own pros and cons. But most alternatives less risky than Google is now.
Change default search engine of devices other people use, if they less tech-savvy than you. But only change the default if able and allowed to. For example: people less tech-savvy might include family kids and grandparents.
Generally, should find alternate way of download that not rely solely on search engine result. A few ways this can be done are:
For download some popular apps, use Ninite (https://ninite.com/). Ninite is custom installer that can download multiple apps at same time.
If more tech literate and use Windows 10, use winget. Winget is package manager, way of install apps in windows terminal. More info: https://www.howtogeek.com/674470/how-to-use-windows-10s-package-manager-winget/
If use linux, there is option of package manager and decent app managers. More info: https://opensource.com/article/22/2/installing-applications-desktop-linux

Fun fact: in the real world, only dogs and ponies/miniature horses are allowed to be service animals! So, thoughts on Galarian Ponyta service animal? One of my OCs has a galarian ponyta as her service animal, and I think a psychic/fairy type would work really well for a service animal
i did NOT know mini horses could be registered service animals :0 I thought it was just dogs, that's super neat! Also that's such a fun idea for an OC wowie. Here's some hcs about galarian ponyta as a service pokemon, because you are SO right about this
I always was under the impression that fairy types make for excellent service pokemon. They're very in-tune with the emotions of people around them, and I think for any people who need emotional support, are nonverbal, or otherwise struggles with emotional regulation or communication, the innate talents of fairy types are a huge help. Same with psychic types tbh
I like to think they have the same strengths as service horses-- they're hip height, very strong, and very sturdy, which makes them ideal for people who have issues with mobility or balance. I think because of their size they can't be ridden by most adults, but can act as a support or catch their trainer. They can also be used as an aide when their trainer is transitioning into or out of a walker or wheelchair
Their dual psychic typing and eyes on the sides of their head enables them to see and sense *everything* which is excellent for detecting possible obstacles or predicting falls before they happen. In my mind, Galarian Ponyta shines as a mobility aid pokemon, helping people get around and clearing spaces easily. Their psychic powers also can enable them to move objects out of the way
Because they have no hands, I don't think they'd be suited to fine motor skill stuff unless they are explicitly trained for psychic-type detail work, but that they work overall as a permanent mobility aid solution for their combination of small size and considerable strength
Also, I think they're the preferred mini horse for mobility aids in many places because their Kantonian counterpart is actively on fire which is a bit of a hindrance indoors and in crowds, while Mudbray is individualistic and messy. I do think Blitzle is another excellent mini horse choice, and that they're more common for people in motorized wheelchairs or with other necessary electronic devices. Galarian ponyta makes a better emotional support animal because of their fairy typing, and I think would be the go-to mini horse support
Another reason they're so popular is that their horn has healing powers and can cure small wounds, so I think they can heal things like pressure sores, small scraps from falls, cuts, or bruises
The more I write about this the more I'm convinced that Galarian ponyta is like. The ultimate mobility aid pokemon of its size and body type. I'm gonna imagine them in lil vests and snowboots now

Rewatching Classic Doctor Who, some episodes I haven't seen in years, some of the animated reconstructions I haven't seen at all.
The Dalek Invasion of Earth AKA Daleks Threaten Earth AKA The Invaders AKA The Daleks (II) AKA The Return of the Daleks AKA The Daleks in Europe AKA Serial K
In February, 1964 Dalekmania hit Britain. The Daleks was immediately popular, spiking ratings and drawing big attention to this new show, Doctor Who. The donation of two of the original Dalek props to a children's charity drew attention and interest in the Daleks remained high. In March a sequel story was commissioned from Terry Nation for the second season, based on the strength of both The Daleks and The Keys of Marinus.
And what a sequel it was! It made use of extensive location shoots, the sight of Daleks chasing the TARDIS crew around London were instantly iconic. It also features the first quarry shoot for the show and probably one of the few times a quarry appears as an actual Earth quarry in Doctor Who history. The original 4 Dalek models were joined by 2 new ones, to flesh out the ranks of the invading army, which led to some impressively complex shoots in and around the Dalek saucer. During one of these complex shoots, William Hartnell was injured and had to sit out for an episode. The less said about the slyther, however, the better. And despite the best efforts of the crew to step up their games, some of the sets feature some obvious backdrops.
The story opens with an fantastic hook, a man with some kind of strange apparatus on his head, lurches about, tearing the mechanical apparatus off his head, and throws himself into the river. The TARDIS arrives and everyone is excited to have apparently returned to Earth. They very quickly realize, however, something is amiss. Susan injures herself and the TARDIS is blocked by rubble, the party separates once again displaying absolutely no degree of genre savvy. Barbara and Susan are discovered and "rescued" by some human resistance fighters. The Doctor and Ian come face-to-face with the unexpected... a Dalek, rising from the Thames. It's quite a cliffhanger!
It turns out that the Daleks have bombarded Earth with meteorites, infected them with a plague, and then invaded. Some of the survivors were enslaved, others were turned into Robomen: cyborg servants of the Daleks who eventually go mad and kill themselves. The Doctor immediately starts sassing the Daleks, who do not realize they have made a grave mistake in invading the Doctor's favorite planet. The Daleks don't recognize the Doctor (or Ian). The Doctor assumes that their previous adventure with the Daleks is "millions" of years in the future, which seems like the Doctor making stuff up again. The Daleks are running a mining operation for reasons unknown and the Doctor and Ian are taken aboard a Dalek saucer and come face to face with the Black Dalek, first seen in the Dalek comics. Of course, he's not entirely black yet, he needs another episode or two to finish his paint job.
The human resistance attacks. The Doctor escapes, Ian stays behind, Barbara is hurt and separated from Susan who escapes with David, a member of the resistance. Upon recovery Barbara goes off with Jenny, another member of the resistance, to find bomb making materials and killing a Dalek by running it over with a truck. Amongst Barbara's many talents, she apparently has her CDL (or whatever the UK equivalent is). One wheelchair bound member of the resistance shows some limited ability to move without his mobility device, which, to judge from recent critique, some people think is the most unbelievable thing to ever happen in Doctor Who. The Doctor meets up with Susan and David, third wheel on their extended date. Ian and another escapee make their way toward the Dalek's mining operation, meeting Mr. Rumbold from Are You Being Served? along the way (Nicholas Smith in his first speaking role).
Barbara and Jenny get sold out to the Daleks by two old women and are taken to the mine. After a series of adventures and romantic moments: The Doctor, Susan, and David also arrive at the mine. It turns out the Daleks are going to mine out the core of the Earth replace it with an engine so that they can pilot the planet as they choose, like some kind of Death Star. Which is either the dumbest thing I've ever heard or the most brilliant, I'm not sure. The Daleks are in the process of dropping a bomb down into the Earth's core when The Doctor and Barbara force the Robomen to turn on the Daleks through the power of impressions and everyone escapes, except the Daleks who are caught in the explosion. The Earth's core survives intact, but England gets a new active volcano.
The TARDIS is freed from debris and while Susan is busy debating leaving David, the Doctor makes her mind up for her, leaving her behind (with only one shoe?) to help rebuild the Earth, becoming the first companion to leave. Or be left anyway. Jenny was originally meant to become the new companion at this point but there were issues behind the scenes that prevented the character from being more than a one-shot. Personally I rather like Jenny, she would have made a much more interesting companion than Vicki.
It's a wonderful serial, using it's six episodes to the fullest and throwing almost everything into the mix to craft an impressive story, even alligators in the sewers. It feels more like Doctor Who than anything we've seen thus far. The Doctor taking a keen interest in upsetting the Daleks' plans and the crew firmly in the protagonist roles. William Hartnell gets at least three all-time classic lines including the famous speech at the end. It is a little convoluted, maybe, but almost everything is in service to the plot. There actually is a fair amount of effort put in to justifying David and Susan's relationship, more so than I remembered. They're actually kind of cute together? While it establishes the terrible "marrying off the companion to a guy she just met" standard exit, it is handled better here than in most other stories. Despite some cheap set backdrops (and the horrible slyther costume), there's some great camerawork and much more complex staging and scenes than we've seen previously. The Dalek Invasion of Earth spiked the Daleks' popularity even further leading to an avalanche of merchandising, comics, live appearances, and two feature films. And another sequel story, cementing the Daleks as the Doctor's only recurring nemesis in these early days. It also assured the popularity of the show, scoring high ratings.
Next up, The Rescue. The Doctor gets a new "granddaughter". For the first time, but not the last time.

Why Java Still Reigns Supreme: A Deep Dive into Its Benefits
In the ever-evolving world of software development, choosing the right programming language can be a critical decision. Java is one language that has over the years continuously demonstrated its value. With a rich history and a thriving ecosystem, Java remains a top choice for developers of all levels of expertise.
Tumblr media
In this blog post, we will delve into the reasons why you should consider using Java in your development projects, exploring its strengths, versatility, and the many advantages it offers.
1. Platform Independence: "Write Once, Run Anywhere"
One of Java's defining features is its remarkable platform independence. This characteristic is often encapsulated in the phrase "Write Once, Run Anywhere." What does this mean for developers? It means that Java applications can run on any platform that has a compatible Java Virtual Machine (JVM). Whether you're targeting Windows, macOS, Linux, or even mobile devices, Java provides consistent and reliable performance across different environments.
The beauty of this platform’s  independence lies in its ability to save developers time and effort. Instead of writing separate code for each operating system or device, you can write your code once and deploy it everywhere. This significantly streamlines the development process and reduces the complexity of managing multiple codebases.
2. Strong Community and Ecosystem
Java boasts one of the most extensive and active developer communities in the world. This vibrant ecosystem is a testament to Java's popularity and longevity. It provides developers with a wealth of resources, including documentation, libraries, and frameworks. Whether you're a beginner or an experienced professional, you'll find that Java's community is both welcoming and supportive.
If you encounter challenges or need guidance, you can turn to the Java community for help. Online forums, discussion groups, and social media platforms are teeming with developers eager to share their knowledge and assist others. The wealth of resources and the willingness of the community to help are invaluable assets when working with Java.
3. Security: Prioritizing Safety
Security is a paramount concern in today's digital landscape, and Java takes this concern seriously. The language and its runtime environment include built-in security features designed to protect applications from common vulnerabilities. These features, combined with Java's strict type system and memory management, contribute to creating robust and secure applications.
Additionally, Java regularly receives updates and patches to address emerging security threats. Staying up-to-date with these updates is crucial for keeping your Java applications secure. The commitment to security makes Java an excellent choice for projects that handle sensitive data or require a high level of protection against cyber threats.
4. Scalability: From Small-Scale to Enterprise
Java's scalability is another compelling reason why developers choose this language. It excels in both small-scale and large-scale applications. Whether you're building a lightweight web app or a complex enterprise-level system, Java can handle the job with finesse.
For enterprise-level applications that demand reliability and performance, Java's robustness is particularly advantageous. It can effortlessly handle high loads and traffic, making it a trusted choice for businesses with critical software needs. The ability to scale up or down as needed ensures that Java remains a versatile tool for a wide range of projects.
5. Versatility: More Than Just Coffee
Java's versatility sets it apart from many other programming languages. While some languages are specialized for specific types of applications, Java can do it all. It's equally suitable for web development, mobile app development, desktop applications, and backend services. This adaptability is invaluable in today's multi-platform development landscape, where projects often require a mix of technologies.
Whether you're building a responsive web application using Java's robust frameworks like Spring Boot or developing Android mobile apps with Android Studio, Java has you covered. The ability to work seamlessly across various domains makes Java a versatile tool in the hands of developers.
6. Performance: From Strength to Strength
Java's performance has seen significant improvements over the years, thanks to ongoing enhancements and optimizations. With its Just-In-Time (JIT) compilation and efficient memory management, Java applications can deliver impressive speed and responsiveness. Here are a few key factors contributing to Java's performance prowess:
JIT Compilation: Java's JIT compiler translates bytecode into native machine code just before execution. This process results in faster execution speeds compared to interpreted languages.
Garbage Collection: Java's automatic memory management system, including garbage collection, ensures efficient memory allocation and deallocation. This reduces the risk of memory leaks and contributes to overall performance.
Optimizations: The Java Virtual Machine (JVM) has evolved to incorporate various optimizations, such as inlining, loop unrolling, and escape analysis. These optimizations further enhance Java's runtime performance.
Multithreading: Java provides robust support for multithreading, allowing applications to take full advantage of modern, multi-core processors.
Tumblr media
The continual evolution of Java means that it remains a competitive choice in terms of performance, even in the face of new programming languages and technologies.
In conclusion, Java's enduring popularity is no accident. Its platform independence, strong community, security features, scalability, versatility, and performance make it a standout choice for a wide range of development projects. Whether you're a seasoned developer or just starting your programming journey, Java has much to offer.

Scrolly-telling
scrolly-telling is an interesting approach that keeps the users engaged though its interactive scrolls. The approach of scrolly-telling is to highlight different features in the website while the user scrolls through the page. Different engaging images and icons are used in the process of highlighting the features. TAD's UX courses online highly emphasize approaches of scrolly-telling and highlight the different aspects of implementing engaging scrolls in the digital asset.
Storytelling through data

Minimalism
Minimalism is a trend that keeps trending all the time. The black-and-gray look of Youtube is an example of minimalism and its growing trends. The light and dark themes (dark modes) are examples of a minimalist approach that makes a compelling user experience. Apart from Youtube, many other websites are adopting minimalism. These websites understand the importance of a minimal approach and the ways it can bring engagement with the important feature of the site popping out of a uniform color palette. TAD is an online platform for digital design and development. TAD's user experience training focuses on the usage of minimalism and the ways it can offer an excellent user experience.
Button-less user interface
Button-less user interfaces are very common. This can be considered to be the continuation of minimalism. It can be seen that many mobile devices use button-less patterns as a theme. It is seen that there is a scope for the UI to get redundant with the implementation of buttons. Lately, many designers have realized that the removal of the button is an alternative. However, this is partially true. Button-less interface is not just about removing the buttons. It is about making the interface so smart that the buttons are not needed at all. For example, if a card only has a single action point, then there is no need for a button. The buttons can be replaced by taps on the card that can prompt the action. TAD user experience design programs delve deep into the understanding of button less design because is one of the trends that would remain for years to come.

AR & VR has gained attention over time with the potential that the metaverse has to offer. Many user experience certificate programs are now including AR and VR as part of their module considering the current and future trends. Some of the popular digital designers across the world believe that AR and VR have potential that is yet to be discovered. However, it is stated by experienced designers that AR and VR have the potential to change the digital landscape.
Minimum Lovable Product (MLP)
Minimum Lovable product (MLP) is the approach of offering products that the customers love. What does this mean to the designers? This simply means that the designs should focus on accessibility rather than other factors. To build an MLP open source should be used which will offer tested and approved components rather than starting from scratch. This also means the usage of component-driven prototyping to solve accessibility and usability challenges.

eCommerce SEO Strategies: Boosting Visibility and Ranking in Search Engines
Inside the digital realm, the possession of a meticulously optimised electronic commerce website is of paramount importance in order to achieve triumph. In the highly competitive landscape of online commerce, the implementation of efficient Search Engine Optimisation (SEO) methods is imperative in order to enhance visibility and improve rankings within search engine results. Boost your online sales with Nivida Web Solutions - one of the most trusted eCommerce development companies in Vadodara!
Tumblr media
This blog post aims to examine a selection of potent eCommerce search engine optimisation (SEO) tactics that can effectively differentiate your online store, enhance organic traffic generation, and ultimately bolster sales figures.
1.  Conduct Comprehensive Keyword Research:
Performing thorough keyword research is essential for the success of any search engine optimisation (SEO) effort. Determine pertinent terms and phrases employed by prospective clients when conducting searches for products within your specific market segment. In order to identify keywords with high search volume and low competition, it is recommended to employ keyword research tools. Long-tail keywords possess significant value for eCommerce websites due to their tendency to signal a greater level of purchase intent.
2.  Optimize Product Pages:
In order to increase organic traffic to your online store, you need to optimise each individual product page for certain keywords. Titles, meta descriptions, and body copy should all be optimised using your target keywords. Create something that stands out from the crowd, educates the reader, and makes them want to buy the product.
3.  Focus on Site Speed and Mobile Responsiveness:
Pay Attention to Site Speed and Mobile Responsiveness: Both of these variables significantly affect search engine rankings. A website's bounce rate and search engine rankings might both suffer if it takes too long to load. Image compression, caching methods, and the use of content distribution networks will all help your website load faster. In order to deliver a consistent experience across all devices, you need also to make sure your website is fully responsive.
4.  Implement Rich Snippets and Schema Markup:
You may improve the visual appeal of your product listings in search engine results by using rich snippets and schema markup. They increase the likelihood of getting clicks from potential buyers by giving them more information, like product ratings, prices, and availability. Using structured data improves your content's discoverability by making it easier to crawl and index.
5.  Create High-Quality Content:
Add a blog to your online store and update it frequently with informative posts on your items, industry developments, and the problems faced by your customer base. Useful and interesting content does more than just get you more visitors; it also positions you as a go-to resource in your field. Promoting your blog entries on social media and getting others to link to them can help your SEO efforts tremendously.
6.  Optimize for Voice Search:
It is no longer optional to optimise for voice search, what with the popularity of speech-activated assistants like Siri and Alexa. Since voice searches are typically longer and more conversational, your content should emphasise the use of natural language and long-tail keywords. Increasing your visibility in voice search results can be accomplished by providing clear and helpful responses to frequently asked topics. Maximize your online potential and experience result-driven eCommerce solutions with Nivida Web Solutions - an excellent eCommerce development company in Vadodara.
7.  Leverage User-Generated Content:
User-generated content (UGC) like customer reviews and testimonials are great for your SEO and for gaining the trust of future customers. Search engines tend to favour sites that update their information frequently, and reviews give both new and original material. Inspire customers to contribute their opinions and experiences by allowing them to do so on the product pages you create.
8.  Improve Site Architecture and Navigation:
Users and search engines both place a high value on a site's structure and the ease with which they can navigate it. Make that the hierarchy of your website's categories, subcategories, and individual product pages makes sense. Users and search engine bots alike will appreciate your efforts to create internal links to relevant sections of your site. Better engagement metrics can have a favourable effect on your search engine rankings, so make sure your site is as user-friendly as possible.
9.  Optimize for Local SEO:
If your online store also has brick-and-mortar locations or serves a geographically limited customer base, local search engine optimisation is a must. Build landing pages for each of your physical locations, enhance your Google My Business profile, and solicit reviews from your neighbourhood's finest. By optimising local search, you can attract customers who are looking for products in your area.
10. Monitor and Analyze Performance:
Use Google Analytics and Search Console on a regular basis to track your website's success. Check your keyword rankings, bounce rates, and conversion rates, among other important indicators. If you have a firm grasp of these KPIs, you'll be in a better position to monitor progress and make adjustments to your eCommerce SEO strategy as needed.
Final Thoughts:
Improving your eCommerce website's exposure and rating in search engines relies heavily on your use of efficient SEO tactics. You can greatly increase your chances of success in the competitive eCommerce landscape by conducting extensive keyword research, optimising product pages, focusing on site speed and mobile responsiveness, leveraging rich snippets, creating valuable content, optimising for voice search, using user-generated content, improving site architecture, optimising for local SEO, and continuously monitoring performance. In order to stay ahead of the competition and draw a consistent stream of organic visitors to your online store, you need to be proactive and adapt to changing SEO trends.
