Shadowpaw was trembling, his claws digging deep into the damp earth beneath him. His fur stood on end, wired and electric as he witnessed the visions before him.
The sun was ablaze in an ever changing mosaic display. It's beams sharpened like the tips of a claw or shards of glass in the sky.
It was pulsating and hot.
Lapping like flames.
Billowing as if smoke.
Waves of heat, distorting the world in its glow.
At any moment it felt like he was going to be burned alive. Scorched into the earth, nothing but the shadow he casted as evidence he was ever witness to such a spectacle. But it never came. What did was the world spinning and then everything turning black.
If he had been more resilient, more accepting of these gifts, perhaps he would have been able to make sense of it in time.
It was easier to think that way and take the blame than accept that sometimes you just don't know the answers. A mercy he would not allow himself as his paws gently grazed the ash blanketed cats lying amongst faintly crackling embers.

I only now realized how similar she looks to Frostcloud and I apologize for that. But anyways here she is, Junipertail
I dont have all her backstory figured out yet. So far I have that she was mentored by Pikefoot in the dark forest (yes he gets to go to hell bc I hate him <3), had a half-clan relationship with Russetclaw (I'm probably gonna change his name), and that her apprentice, Lilypaw, caught her with him and Junipertail killed her as a result and got away with it. And of course theres that in the CSS crossover, she mentors Blaze in the dark forest. I'll figure out more stuff eventually

Moonstar was just tired.
Not only was she dealing with countless deaths in the Clan the last few moons, but now one of them was her own daughter.
She’d been in shock when the patrol had returned, carrying the bodies of Voleshadow and Fogpaw, but when she’d seen Petalpaw’s fur being carried at the back, she’d screeched in horror and ran to her daughter’s side.
Ryebramble had pinned his ears back, stepping away to give Moonstar space.
“There… there was a monster. On the Thunderpath. It came out of nowhere.”, he said softly.
Moonstar had barely heard him. She’d had her face buried in her daughter’s fur, shaking.
It had been a moon now since that day, and it hadn’t gotten easier, but Moonstar was at least able to go back to her duties.
She’d seen Snapleaf’s sideways glances. He didn’t agree with her going back to her duties, having tried to convince her to stay in the medicine cat den, that Harepelt could handle the Clan.
But Moonstar needed to get moving again, to have something to occupy her days.
At the moment, that was border patrol with Prickleclaw. Her son was struggling just as much as she was, so she knew that getting out of camp would help him.
They’d spent most of the time discussing Clan business, who had become mates recently, how Prickleclaw’s apprentice Vinepaw was doing.
Moonstar could feel Prickleclaw’s demeanor change after a bit, his ears pulling back.
“It’s not fair.”, he said softly, stopping in his tracks.
Moonstar turned to him, tilting her head slightly. They’d just been speaking about how Vinepaw needed to work on her pouncing.
“She’ll never have a warrior name.”, he said softly. Moonstar’s ears now flattened, wincing slightly.
She didn’t say anything though, not sure what to say.
They spent the rest of their patrol in silence, and Prickleclaw went straight to the warrior’s den once they got back into the tunnels.

It was only six moons later when Prickleclaw fell ill. It was the middle of greenleaf, and the moors was blazing hot. While the tunnels offered some protection from the heat, leaving was an uncomfortable experience at best.
Snapleaf tried their best, Moonstar knew that. But it didn’t work. Prickleclaw’s body was too warm.
Moonstar woke one morning and went to check on her last remaining kit, and wailed when she felt how cold his pelt was. She’d first thought it was a good sign, that he’d recovered from his heatstroke, until she realized he was far too cold.
She sat in her den, tucked against the back wall now, staring straight ahead. She’d heard Jackdawwing come and go a few times, try to speak to her or bring her fresh-kill, but she wasn’t having it.
Moonstar just stayed silent and numb. After a few days she at least ate, but she was quiet and subdued.
No one in the Clan faulted her. She’d lost both of her kits within a few moons of each other, and she was too old to have another litter.
Whispers started across the Clan, wondering if Moonstar would be able to survive this grief.

The answer was no.
Two moons after Prickleclaw’s death, Jackdawwing went in to check on Moonstar, finding her still in her nest with a content look on her face.
As much as the discovery immediately sent a chill through his heart, that he was leader now, that he had all of that responsibility, it brought him peace.
Moonstar had been wasting away the last moons, and now she could finally rest, and finally be back with her kits, and she’d never have to worry about losing them again.
Just a quick little something about my MoorClan save. Poor Moonstar lost her kits so quickly (though I don’t remember if that’s the exact timeline), but she passed not long after so it made me a bit happy for her. That clan’s been plagued by rogue attacks and Thunderpath deaths (and it’s always either the pretty ones or the ones with pretty names).

Obligatory warrior cats au bc there isn't one to my knowledge and im going crazy. Im gonna look insane typing all this.
Tideclan was made by Juniperpaw (Jake), a Thicketclan cat, as a way to get away from Thicketclan and gain his own freedom. He meets Mintpaw (Fresh), a Breezeclan cat, who wants to see what lies beyond the clans. They eventually form Tideclan after finding Beatrice (Tricky), a kittypet, and Sootpaw (Yutani), a medicine cat apprentice for Moorclan.
Abyssclan (Infinity) was formed by rouges and loners, they don't live within the territories of the others but they do live in the city where Tideclan is. Known members are Rabbitwind, Ashwing, and Foxblaze. Mistdew is suspicious of Zoe but Ivyeyes refuses to believe so.
Juniperpaw is Spikestrike's, the deputy of Thicketclan, apprentice. Spikestrike is well aware that Juniperpaw sneaks out and allows him to leave as long as he returns before sunrise. He occasionally visits Tideclan himself and promises not to tell Bearstar, their leader.
Mintpaw suggested that they rename themselves to have warrior names for their new clan, thus the names Mintdew, Ivyeyes, Soottrail, and Junpierstar were born. Juniperpaw wanted to be Coolstar but the name was immediately shit down by everyone.
Beatrice is a kittypet who wanted to explore the city she lived in, stumbling across the newly formed Tideclan in the process, she was accepted in and excitedly went home to tell her neighborhood friend Zoe. She spends most of her time at Tideclan camp making it nicer for when the others return.
Sootpaw was adopted as a kit by Mudleg (Mully), the medicine cat of Moorclan, and he took her as his apprentice since she was considered to small to be a warrior. Her origins are unknown as Mudleg claims he just found he alone in the rain.
