Mother’s Day- May 12, 2024
Let’s remember the mothers in Palestine who have lost their children to heartless, unnecessary violence.
Remember the people in Palestine who haven’t been able to have children, because they’ve been too busy trying to stay alive.
The mothers in Palestine who watched their children starve to death, unable to do anything about it.
The mothers who gave birth- painful, excruciating birth, without anesthesia- only to watch their children die days later.
The mothers who are trying desperately to save their children from the same fate as so many others.
The mothers who have died for their children.
The mothers who have died for their children, only for their children to die anyway, because there is rarely an escape from the hell that is war.
Let’s remember the children in Palestine who have watched their own mothers die.
The children in Palestine who no longer have mothers because of the genocide.
The children who just want their moms back.
It’s important to honor and celebrate our own mothers, to remember the people in our own lives who are estranged from their mothers, who have lost their mothers, the people we know that yearn to be mothers. But don’t forget the mothers in Palestine. Don’t take your eyes off the atrocities.
