R6S Duolingo and language learning HCs

Stupid fluff/crack hcs for some of the r6s operators, inspired by a recent heated discussion in our research group about everyone’s Duolingo habits (lol).

Warnings/notes: none (unless you’re severely traumatized by the Duolingo owl, though if that’s the case, it’s probably already too late anyways) Slight romance and/or suggestiveness in some.

Sorted alphabetically under the cut—I wrote for everyone that popped into my mind at the time.

Ace: Will totally take the initial placement test for Norwegian, just for that cheap and easy XP-boost that will catapult him to the top of the leaderboard and allow him to flex his high score in front of the others. (Everyone knows what’s going on, but let’s let him have this.) Will be extra motivated should you decide to get the app as well and absolutely swoon over you should you decide to take up Norwegian (he still won’t take it well should you outcompete him on the leaderboard, though, so keep that in mind).

Bandit: Doesn’t really care for the app per se, but is more than happy to help expand your knowledge of German swear words and street slang should you decide to take it up, whether you want it or not. If you’re serious about learning the language, he will do his best to help you in earnest and make an effort to include you in the German banter between the GSG9 member (be careful, though, as he will absolutely take the opportunity to feed you wrong and/or offensive words every now and then so he can have a laugh when you cheerfully insult any of the other German operators, thinking you were merely throwing out some German slang). Will be more encouraged than ever to give you German pet names. He would also take the opportunity to introduce you to his favorite German bands and songs (just stay wary of the meaning of some of the lyrics you will inevitably pick up).

Blitz: This is his home turf—Elias doesn’t need to be convinced to download the app, he already has it (and every other language learning app out there) ready to go on his phone. He finds the questions and problems in Duolingo too easy to really challenge him, but he’ll use it to refresh his memory on grammar and vocabulary during breaks or look into the more exotic languages they offer just for fun. Gets very excited if you are interested in languages, too, and all the more so if the language you want to learn happens to be German! He will send you all kinds of materials and resources to help you study, from news articles to memes. When he sees you practicing using the app, he will come up to you and give you a kiss whenever you get an exercise right.

Doc: Gustave always encourages the people around him to try new things and stay flexible, physically and mentally, so he welcomes it when you introduce him to the app. Other operators might complain about the persistent reminders sent by the app, but Doc actually appreciates them—without them, he would quickly forget about the app again as he’s always caught up with work late into the night. Should you decide to learn French, he will gladly practice with you whenever you have a moment of time throughout the day, remaining patient and encouraging even as you torment him with the exhilarating questions about his name and profession that come with the early stages of learning a new language.

Dokkaebi: Will get super competitive and try to get as many of the other Rainbow members as possible into Duolingo as well. They don’t all have to learn the same language, but there will be an internal competition about who earns the most points every week. Will probably act casually about it, but then log into the app again at the last minute before the leaderboard closes, while her fellow operators are either already asleep or focused on something else and absolutely obliterate them and their scores. If you tell her that you want to learn Korean, she might be a bit surprised at first, but will quickly find it endearing when it becomes apparent that you’re serious about it. She loves it when you text her in Korean whenever you learned something new and will in turn send you Korean proverbs and other tidbits you might fight interesting.

Glaz: Not a huge fan of the app (maybe because he doesn’t think the interface is visually appealing?). Would maybe use it to gain a basic understanding of the language of a country he’s sent to on a mission + any themed lessons that catch his eye. If your native language isn’t English or Russian, he would use the app to check out the basics while he’s away from you, though he would much rather get the explanations directly from you. If you inform him that you’re trying to learn Russian, his heart will melt and he will shower you with sweet words of praise and encouragement to make you feel comfortable enough to speak to him in his native language. Will also buy you a premium subscription when you aren’t looking to make learning even more fun for you.

IQ: Monika is smart and a quick learner - you know it, I know it, it’s literally implied in her codename. Quickly uninstalls the app again because she finds the exercises too easy and doesn’t want to bother wasting time on having to unlock the few lessons she’d actually be interested in. If you or another operator were the ones getting her into the app, however, she’d keep it around just so she can keep doing the weekly challenges with you—she finds it cute when you get all competitive about it and it makes her happy that you want to participate in them with her. Her first reaction to you telling her that you want to learn German would be a blunt “Why?,” as she thinks you might get more use out of other languages. Tell her that you’re doing it for her and she becomes incredibly flustered (all the more so should you decide to call her by one or more German pet name(s)), yet happy at the same time.

Jäger: Marius quickly incorporated the app into his daily routine, usually getting his daily session in during breakfast or dinner. Will regularly remind his GSG9 colleagues to use the app by sharing his milestones to their group chat (*screenshot of perfect 2-week-streak* “Und bei euch so? 😏” (”what about you guys? 😏”) Will be very giddy should you decide to learn German—he’s very eager to practice with you and will constantly point out how certain things are called in German as well as give you additional info and expressions. He’ll probably get ahead of himself and it will be nearly impossible to remember everything he’s telling you, but he doesn’t expect you to and is glad to repeat it.

Kapkan: Hates it. Thinks the interface looks stupid, the sample conversations pointless, and was just about ready to ask Sledge to borrow his hammer to smash his phone and computer because he accidentally consented to receive all the reminders and push notifications and it’s driving him insane. If you’re using the app to learn a language and feel like its helping you, however, he is willing to put up with the eye sore that is the Duolingo owl and the noise pollution coming from the app, just for you (particularly if the language you are trying to learn is Russian—his adoration for your efforts outweighs any negative feelings he may have). If your native language is something different from Russian or English, he would make an effort to learn at least the basics in it when things start to get serious. While he’s a diligent student, he becomes surprisingly shy and easily flustered when attempting to speak to you in your native language, so stay patient and give him lots of encouragement.

Montagne: As his perceived lack of proficiency in foreign languages when compared to some of the other Rainbow operators is something that’s been bothering him on and off for some time, he was very happy and receptive when you introduced him to the app. He uses it to quietly practice by himself during moments of downtime as he goes about his day. I feel like he’d be the type of person to have a 500+ day streak that makes you go “damn! :0″ when you see it on their profile for the first time. Is over the moon when you reveal to him that you’ve been trying to learn some French for him and have nothing but praise for even your most awkward attempts at speaking to him in French. Naturally, he will want to repay the favor and take up your language in return, but it will take some verbal encouragement from you before he overcomes his shyness to actually talk to you in your native language.

Mute: would never resort to cheap exploits like raking in a massive number of points by acing the placement test in his native language (as others are rumored to have done), but would quickly figure out the little tricks, bonuses, and power-ups that allow him to continuously earn the highest score possible while learning. Finds the exercises too easy and doesn’t like how you have to unlock certain topics through progression, rather than being able to freely choose what you’re interested in learning right from the beginning. If your native language isn’t English, he will look for other better resources on it on his own. Even if English isn’t your first language, he doesn’t really see any concrete need for you to improve but will respect your desire to do so by providing you with recommendations for English books and movies, as well as the offer of discussing them with him once you’re done with them.

Smoke: While the gamification aspect does hold some appeal in his eyes, he doesn’t really feel the need to follow the path given by the app—he’s convinced that if you want to learn a new language, it should ideally come naturally to you by actively engaging with source materials in it (read: chemical safety data sheets, scientific papers, and online shitposts). Should his daughter discover her love for Duolingo-based language learning, however, you bet he would download and use the app, if only to keep her happy and connect with her (he would, however, be equally happy if you were to compete with her in the challenges in his stead—in fact, he would only adore you more for doing so). If your native language isn’t English, the first thing he would ask you to teach him are swearwords, if nothing else, so he can annoy his fellow operators even more effectively. If things get serious between the two of you, however, he will be more than eager to learn other things as well from you.

Tachanka: Would use the app to learn a few bits in your language as an icebreaker and to surprise you & show you how much he cares about you. Flirty and straightforward as he is, he would then quickly graduate to asking you for some one-on-one conversation training sessions, offering to teach you basic Russian (or flirting/swearwords, depending on how you roll). Should you decide to learn Russian, he will be all over you whenever you use your newly acquired, meager language skills on him — he will be incredibly happy and proud of you. In fact, he might get a little too excited and unintentionally embarrass you a little by boasting about your “skills” to his fellow Spetsnaz members, putting you on the spot when they subsequently demand a first-hand demonstration. He’s quick to pick up on the naughtiest, most suggestive expressions in your native language and will make good use of them behind closed doors with absolutely zero shame, causing your blood to flow to your face (as well as other places) whenever he does so.

Thatcher: Was most definitely pressured into getting the app by someone else on his team and only begrudgingly agreed to use it under the condition that that person would also set everything up for him. He will quickly get annoyed by it and delete it after Duo keeps counting typos he didn’t bother to correct as mistakes, subsequently providing you with ample opportunity to expand your vocabulary of British swearing. If English isn’t your native language, he would try to learn some phrases from your first language for you. He’s very serious about it and somehow selects rather lyrical source materials for this endeavor—on occasion he sounds like an old-timey gentleman plucked straight from a romance novel, causing a blush to appear on your cheeks every time he talks to you like that.

Thermite: Another one who would probably see Duolingo as a kind of dating app with extra steps. Would repeatedly come to you under the pretense of asking you how certain features of the app work, etc., just so he has an excuse to stay close to you. If you’re in an established relationship, he will ask you for a kiss for every exercise he gets right whenever he’s actually using it to practice. Will make an effort to remember the most random sample phrases to repeat them back to his fellow operators in their native language and think he’s hilarious for doing so. If you’re the type of person that gets discouraged whenever you accidentally miss a day, causing your streak to break (the type of person he is), he will briefly log into your account and do a quick and easy exercise just to keep your streak going when he sees you haven’t logged into the app after you’ve already gone to bed. Will also really work with the random, basic phrases he’s learned in your language so far to impress you or at least make you laugh.

☆ Gilles never really opposed the idea of you opening up your relationship, and he was a bit shocked to see his colleagues would be the ones entering his relationship

☆ You had worried he might have hated the idea, but if anything, he was okay with it

☆ He trusted you through and through, knowing that all 4 of you would communicate everything

☆ One of Gilles’ favorite things when it came to spending time with you, Gustave, and Julien was the cuddling

☆ He was the king of cuddles, and wouldn’t shy away from giving that same love to his colleagues when the time came around

☆ He’d give you a kiss on the forehead before turning and doing the same to one of his colleagues, making sure everyone felt loved and cared for

Doc

♡ Gustave, while in your relationship with Gilles and now Julien, was a bit skeptical as to why you did it in the first place

♡ Not because he didn’t trust you, but because he didn’t know who else you were going to bringing in when you told him

♡ But once you told him it would be just Julien and him, he ended up agreeing

♡ He and Gilles wouldn’t really have problems upon joining your relationship, but he and Julien did from time to time

♡ Gustave would sometimes argue with Julien over who was going to get what position in the cuddles, wanting to be closer to you

♡ It was a bit surprising for you to see him act this way over you, and now Gustave gets embarrassed whenever you point out he and Julien were arguing again

Rook

♪ Julien, when he joined your relationship, was very calm and gentle with everyone at first, and was rather happy he finally found himself dating someone he loved

♪ Sometimes he would cause mischief between him and his colleagues, often teasing and playfully arguing with them

♪ Gilles wouldn’t really react, he’d just laugh nervously before shooing Julien away

♪ Julien would simply continue on before leaving him alone and going to bug Gustave instead

♪ Gustave of course, would know he was playing, and would continue to egg him on

♪ The only time they ever argued was whenever Julien wanted to cuddle you and not Gustave, and he would get a bit defensive over keeping his position

Oh my gosh I accidentally deleted a whole post I finished up for the GIGN boys having feelings for a reader who’s just been cheated on ;( I’m pretty sure @vampsquerade had requested it! So I’m sorry for the delay, it’s only because I had to rewrite the whole thing :(( if I wasn’t correct about the prompt too feel free to request again <3

Doc

- Gustave has grown so used to your presence around him, even as he’s working, that it wasn’t a surprise when he was quick to notice your absence.

- When he finally does see you again. He can tell something is off. He honestly tries to avoid bringing it up for a while, but it eats him alive to not know.

- “Is something wrong, mon ami?”

- It took a few seconds until you finally whispered out that you had caught your partner in a lie. They were cheating on you.

- It stunned Gustave to say the least. “They cheated on you?” Hearing it come from another persons mouth made your heart break just a little more. You must be so stupid.

- Noticing your body becoming more and more tense, he would move towards you, offering his arms as a resting place for you.

- You took advantage of it, leaning against him. Cautiously, he would lean down as well, placing a kiss on your cheek and wiping the salty tears that had built up in your eyes.

Rook

- Ever the sweetheart, he didn’t want to bother you if you just weren’t in the mood to talk, but he had something in him just telling him to text at least.

- So he did. He asked how things were going. Basic conversation starter. You seemed just so sad even over text. Julien didn’t want to push you, he was just worried, so he put you a bit on the spot,

- “Meet me at bridge?”

- You immediately knew which bridge he was talking about. You two went there sometimes to talk before walking around a bit.

- You wanted to say no, but didn’t have it in you to deny him. So you agreed and finally tore yourself up from the comfort of your home and out to meet Julian.

- Seeing you, his face lit up, though you were sure you weren’t looking your hottest. Seeing him, you felt guilty. You had gone 3 days without seeing or talking to him.

- Julien didn’t seem to mind though, quick to give you a gentle hug and make small talk. It slowly crumbled over what felt like long pauses of silence. You felt your throat start to tighten, hands gently shaking, desperate to keep it in.

- But of course, Julien notices and slips an arm over your shoulder asking you what’s been wrong. It all comes out, admitting you didn’t mean to avoid him, in fact you’ve really needed him.

Lion

- Oliver is many things, some good some bad, he doesn’t quite know where his hard headed attitude would fall when given those two options, but he felt like it must have provided you with some promise that he’d make sure your ex never came near you again.

- Apart of him was a little glad. He never liked your partner anyway. Olivier knew he could treat you better than them.

- He held onto you, sitting on the floor of your bedroom where he came to check on you, loosing track of time. He had some things like personally got him through tough times, praying especially, but he was aware that didn’t help everyone. So he gave the top of your head a gentle kiss and he said what he knew was deep down,

- “I would never cheat on you”

Montagne

- You came to him. He’s a gentle giant who part times as an amazing hugging partner, so when you found out about the scandal, you ran to him before thinking twice.

- Gilles was quick to ask what’s wrong. It was an odd hour for you to seek him out randomly. You really just needed someone right now, you tried to explain that, but your throat felt all jumbled and Gilles ended up just guiding you down next to him to rest.

- After a few minutes of him claiming you down so you’d be able to regain yourself, you had to get the affair off your chest.

- “They did that? .. Je suis tellement désolé. They weren’t good enough for you anyway.”

- You accepted his kind words, apart of you bashful towards them as you were trying to not break down about everything. He would grow to be lost in his own mind, catching your attention.

- It felt wrong not to tell you as you cried over another lover in his arms, but he didn’t want to bring them up when he didn’t have to.

- “I should admit something, shouldn’t I? It’s wrong for you to not know isn’t it?” He was rationalizing out loud, “I have deep feelings for you, mon ami. I want to be with you.”

Rainbow six GIGN cuddle HC

Lord have mercy the hell was I thinking, I cant write SHIT. Anyway here is a rainbow GIGN cuddle HC. I'm testing different ways of writing so you might not see a lot of similarities in each characters writing. Some im more proud of but enough of this read below for your GIGN babies!

Montagne (Gillies):

It's never difficult to persuade Gilles for some snuggle action, he wouldn't really say it's what he lives for but with the right person he does tend to favor it. Surprising for his size Gillies is a switch when it comes to big or little spoon but truthfully, he leans towards little spoon. He loves to be able to bundle you close to his body protecting you from anything that dares to come your way. But on the other hand, slotting himself against you while every inch of you invites him closer makes him feel like he belongs.

Gillies was born and raised to protect all no matter the case, to stand and stare whatever is in front of you and to never turn to run. but when he is so used to standing in the front lines it's hard to see if the ones standing behind him are actually with him or not. As strong as he presents himself, the dreaded doubt that he doesn't belong always resides in him. So, the time he has to just let that doubt go and focus on you holding him, showing him that he belongs with you are moments that Gillies will always cherish and crave with you.

Twitch (Emmanuelle)

You would think there was a cuddling competition going on when it comes to snuggling with Emmanuelle. She truly strives for perfection in any task that is given. But do not doubt her ability to express her emotions with you. Just because she specializes in robotics does not mean she is one. Emmanuelle isn't just a full body cuddler she loves grabbing and holding any part of you. Definitely loves being the big spoon. pushing yourself against her chest while she bends and plays with your hands is a very loved classic for her.

Emmanuelle craves a working mind; she loves getting up close and personal with everything in her sight. That being said, you have had your fair share of cramps while testing every cuddle position she thinks of. But even working minds need a rest. Questioning her motives, she has deeply expressed to you that you are not a rest stop to her. Yes, Emmanuelle loves studying and learning everything about everything but there has never been a time where she has question anything you do. She doesn't stare at you, studying you. No Emmanuelle stares at you adoring you.

Lion (Oliver)

Speaking Olivers name around anyone, you are sure to get a strong option whether it be of admiration or sheer hatred. No matter the comments; one thought about him always stays steady with everyone. Oliver is everything BUT shy. The fondness that glows in his eyes when he gets to pull you in his lap makes your whole-body bloom with warmth. PDA is something he doesn't given a second thought to. Cuddling with this massive cat man you will never feel like you are in the shadows or being hidden. Holdings your hips against his while tickling your neck with his short stubble nearly makes the man purr.

Oliver was shut out from his family. His mistakes while standing with him have no weight on him whatsoever. That be said Oliver makes it his goal to use his past to make sure that those he loves and the ones who love him know he is always there no matter the cause. Oliver needs to be big spoon; he is known to hold his strength against any foe, so he knows when his hands are gripped on you that neither of you are leaving. Hold your body against his allows him to show and feel that not only are you keeping him there, but that he is never leaving you anywhere alone.

Doc (Gustave)

Kind, thoughtful, accessible, stubborn. Gustave is a man of many talents from writing his studies of toxicology to showing how far he can go to get what he wants. This man is in no way selfish or forceful with what he wants but he is definitely persistent with "five more minutes". Gustave loves the big spoon and little spoon roles. Or more like he loves fighting for the role with you. while he loves some rough and scruff Gustave does get filled with absolute delight feeling your arms gently wrap around him from behind while deep in his work. He is not much of a fan on quite cuddle sessions, he loves laughing, playing and tossing around with you.

Gustave has been notorious for not hiding his emotions when not interested in something. Even with the expectation of his beloved family wanting him to peruse the medical field he still pushed for his own path. So, when you settle down expecting a big squeeze and giggles. you are getting a big squeeze and as much laughter as your lungs can handle. He would do anything to make you feel better even if its outside his interest. Gustave has always been kind, soft, and overall, someone you can relax with. But is there really no better way to relax than to let loss and go against every calculation there is?

Rook (Julien)

For being in special forces as well as a man known for armor plating Julien is a the softest and most bendable person when it comes to cuddling. it's like laying with pudding, he will melt in just about every crease and crevice when laying with you. That doesn't mean any cuddle session with him is a relaxing one. Julien is an expert at getting into places that might be out of mind for most so, expect to learn some new tickle spots on yourself. While he has no mind in showering you with endless squeezing and kisses Julien loves bouncing off the furniture when he really gets you in a fit of laughter and screaming.

Known for his flexibility and high energy he will most certainly challenge your stamina in a match of cuddle or die. Julien understands when enough is enough as well as when sometimes you need a moment to sit down and shut off. Out of the group he even makes Gustave and Emmanuelle work for their money on empathy. Hearing a stressed-out sigh from you he is instantly picking you up to the bedroom and giving you the best back massage, you ever had. Julian has never turned down an antsy cuddle partner, you need to turn five times? go for it! the blanket isn't feeling right? He's ripping it off, its cold? He's tucking you right back in.

the clock reads 2am, and for some reason beyond your restless mind, you just cant sleep. you roll over in your shared bed to see timur asleep beside you, maybe his soft snores were the culprit to your lack of sleep, or maybe you just shouldn’t have had so much sugar only 2 hours before.

after admiring your sleeping boyfriend enough to make you feel warm, you decide to get up and find something to do. walking over to the desk and drawers not far from the bed, turning on the dim lamp as you reach into a drawer and pull a small box lined with protective bubble wrap. you open the box with a small sense of pride, talking out the contents to admire and thinking about what to spend time finding and acquiring next.

by now, timur has noticed your lack of presence in the previously warm bed. you turn slightly and look over your shoulder to see him getting up to approach you. “what are you up to at this time, любимая?” he asks in that groggy sleep-ridden voice that you love. he stands behind you as he rests his hands on your shoulders and looks over you at your collection on the table, revealing a group of vintage slavic collectables, the first few he notices are a trinket/jewellery box, a military compass, a small group of russian dolls (CUTEE) and a watch.

“do you like it?” you ask slowly, while watching his face unsurely as he studies the objects on the table. “i like it very much, do you collect these, любимая?” to which you reply “yep!”. timur tilts his head to look over at you and smiles softy, before asking “in that case, would you like me to take you out this weekend and find more to grow this collection? on the one condition that you go to sleep with me just now, as it’s very late and i’d rather you not be tired at work.” you agree to him and he places a gentle kiss on your temple before leading you back to bed.

Paring: Gilles "Montagne" Touré x Fem!Reader

Warnings: NONE. SFW!!!!!!

“You’re married?”

A surprised look plastered on everyone's face at the table. They were frozen, eyes watching the large French man as they waited for an answer. He thought it was a given, The ring was always there. His eyes glance down to his gloveless left hand, expecting to see the shiny wedding band. It was bare, most likely left in that shell dish you kept your own in. He doesn’t wear it for his morning workout and it must have just slipped his mind. He’d hate to lose the sentimental jewelry, so he doesn’t wear it often.

“I thought everyone knew.”

He was trying to not show his own surprise. He’s spoken about you multiple times, but now that he recalls it. He’s only ever brought you up to Doc and a few other workers, but never his teammates. He heard another person into the room, taking a seat at the table after greeting everyone.

“Olivier! Did you know Gilles’ married?”

He looked over at Olivier, an evil looking smirk on his face.

“Yeah, she’s not a big fan of me.”

They were less shocked with this new finding, knowing a lot of the Ops didn’t get along with Olivier. Still though, Olivier and Gilles are close, like going out drinking close. They kinda thought you’d get along with him.

“What do you mean?”

They were now pestering Olivier for answers about you, and you not even his wife. Now Olivier is going to tell them everything he knows about you. How does he explain that the very women they’re all surprised about existing works in the same building as them. Your own feet carrying you down the same halls they walk, that you’ve even read their files and practically know everything about them.

“She’s seen my history, not a huge fan of it.”

“She works here!!”

There was their surprise again. Gilles leans back in his chair, thumb rubbing over the bare spot on his ring finger. He’s interested now, watching how everyone is finally finding out about you. He’s smiling, eyes darting between the group as they speak.

“Yeah, I don’t think I’m allowed to say where. She’s here though, probably walking around right now.”

Gilles knows where you are, you’re on your way to lunch. Probably wrapped up in a thick coat as you make your way out to your car. You like going to get food and then send him a text to come have lunch with you. What he doesn’t know is that you’re not walking out to your car, your three turns down the hall from the meeting room he’s in. You're upset, he hasn’t answered your text, his food is now cold, and the most important thing, he’s not wearing his wedding ring. His eyes land back on the man in yellow, quickly and swiftly answering those random ‘how’d you know but we didn’t’ questions, he’s avoiding the real meaningful ones. The ones he knows Gilles should be answering.

“Gilles. What does she do? I mean, she’s gotta be pretty good to be working for Rainbow.”

He smiled slightly, attempting to hide how excited he was to talk about his wonderful and lovely Wife. He moves his legs, fixing the way he’s sitting as he thinks about what to say. Did he want to fuck with his teammates, to tell the truth. He decided it could be good to mess around with them, but he couldn’t think of anything that was good enough. He also was taught not to lie.

“She’s just an office worker for GhostEyes.”

He’s not wrong, but he is also severely down playing what you do. He’s hoping they don’t ask about how you read Oliviers files, he’s just hoping that maybe it’ll be enough to satisfy their curiosity. It does, they don’t seem to ask too many questions about your work. Instead they ask about your looks and trying to see if they’ve ran into you before. He answers their questions carefully, picking his words purposefully.

“Oh, so she’s,”

The person is cut off. You round the corner with a bag in your hand before freezing. Looking at all the people who stared back at you. Gilles notices everyone looking behind him, quietly observing the person standing there. He turns around, arms over the back of the chair as he makes eye contact with you. A smile on his face as goes to greet you, your voice swiftly cutting him off.

“I don’t wanna hear it, Gilles.”

Your eyes looking at the other people around him, trying to find someone who you could recognize. You only knew Olivier and that made you roll your eyes. You looked back at your husband, watching as his mouth opened and closed trying to find something. You gave him an angry look, cocking your head forward and to the side. You were waiting for him to say something, especially since he can tell you are upset. He stood up, looking at the group of people.

“Everyone, this is my wife, (Y/N).”

He walked over to you, his hand resting on your lower back. He watched as you gave everyone a small wave. You didn’t wanna be rude, but you were absolutely upset with the large man next to you. It only made your blood boil more when you saw the shit eating grin on Oliviers face, he’s done nothing but sat there and it was annoying. You smiled as sweetly as you could, before pushing the bag into his chest and turning and walking away. A small ‘ooh’ coming from Olivier as he watched. Gilles gave him a pointed glare before following after you.

“Duodou, wait.”

His voice is soft, a hand reaching out to grab at your arm. You stopped, spinning around at him causing him to abruptly stop.

“Do you even know what time it is?”

You paused, not even giving him a chance to speak.

“Far past lunch. I sent you two whole texts AND a call, Gilles!”

You don’t even know why this was upsetting you, but it was. It took to rooting deep in your bones and it was getting to you. Him not answering the text wasn’t even what truth got to you. It was the simple fact that he wasn’t wearing his ring, but then again you can’t even fully be mad at him for that either. He sighed, putting a hand into a pocket to fish out his phone but it wasn’t there, he checked his other pockets but it wasn’t there either. He looked up at you, watching as you stared him down waiting for an answer.

“Chérie, I do believe, I don’t have my phone.”

He almost let out a little nervous laugh, trying his hardest to not let your angry face get to him. You gave out a huff. He doesn’t even know, is all you say to yourself.

“I can make it up to you.”

You’re now trying to talk yourself down from being angry at him, his almost disappointed sigh broke you. You moved closer to him, wrapping your arms around his waist. Your head laying on his chest, his arms wrapping around your shoulders.

“You wanna do it now?”

He hummed in response. Pulling back a bit as he watched you reach into your coat pocket and pulling out a colored snack size ziplock bag. Opening it and presenting the item to him with a bright smile.

“You can wear this again and all the time, actually.”

He laughs, fingers coming to pluck the ring from your hands. You watch as he slips it onto his finger. Your hands grab at his large hands and smile at the jewelry.

“Is it this simple to make you not angry at me?”

You hummed nodding as you looked up at him. You smiled, almost feeling bad for how you felt earlier. Your thumbs rubbing of his knuckles as you thought of what to say next.

“I was just overreacting, I’m sorry.”

His free hand going under your chin and pushing your head up to look at him. That same smile you fell in love with placed oh so perfectly on his face.

“You were not overreacting, Duodou.”

He bent down to kiss you, he planned on giving you a small little peck, but that didn’t happen. One peck turned into a kiss and then another. Not stopping until you heard someone clearing their throat. Your eyes looked over to see Olivier, what a mood dampener.

“They're looking for you two.”

You shook your eyes, giving Gilles a soft oh well smile before interlocking your hands together.

“Don’t worry. We’re coming back.”

Doc chuckled nervously, eyes darting from side to side as he inspected his surroundings. It was loud and full of...Teenagers..This building Montagne had brought him to. Speaking of Montagne where was that mountain of a man? Doc looked up just in time to see and feel Montagne gently shove a vest into his chest. "Eh?..Gilles, what is this?..",he asked in French wearily, hoping the other people in the room didn't know what he was saying. "It's a vest, Gustave, it lights up when you get shot!",the tall man grinned, the clear sparkle of mischief evident. "S-Shot?!",he switched back to English in a snap, his eyes wearier than his tone was. "Relax, relax, the shots do not hurt, they are lasers..",Montagne laughed softly, putting the smaller Frenchman at ease. "Montagne..Why are we here? This place is full of teenagers..",he spoke quietly as he slowly put on the vest, knowing there was no way out of this once Gilles had decided what he wanted to do. "Because, Mon ange, it is much like we are used to, fight and shoot, but much more fun!",Montagne's infectious smile only grew wider. "Like we are used to, you say? Then where is your shield, and where is my stim pistol?", Doc joked with a smile, watching Montagne try to come up with an excuse. "....My shield would not fit in the car...And nobody will get hurt so your pistol is useless.",Gilles pursed his lips like a child. "Now hurry up, the game is about to begin!",he dragged Doc along to the start point, his face eager and excited.

Doc panted as he slammed his back against a wall for cover, sweat beading down his forehead and neck, his eyes wild as he tried to catch sight of his lover. What Montagne had failed to tell him was the they were on opposite teams and now he was at a loss for words and ideas. He was a defender, he didn't want to run out in the open, but it seems this was how the game was played here. Suddenly, he felt a familiar presence, and turned to see the face of Montagne, barely lit in the dark room of people. "E-Eh..You've caught me, Mon loup, I am not so good at this game, as it seems..",Gustave smiled sheepishly and let his weapon slowly lower to his side to rest on the wall behind him, as he held his hands up in a sign of defeat. Then, just like that, Montagne was against him, his gentle lips searching Doc's, but for what? Doc let him have more, wondering if Montagne could taste victory, or perhaps defeat. It felt like hours, the kiss that was slow and burned with passion like he hadn't felt in a long time since they never got many breaks. Montagne pulled away with a smile, one that spoke volumes of victory. Doc returned the smile and saw the confusion flicker across the other Frenchman's eyes. "Game over, Mon lapin..~",Doc smirked as he pulled up the laser pistol he stole from Montagne's side, then shot him point blank in the chest, effectively ending the round and the game. "You were right, this was fun, we should come again.",Gustave chuckled deeply and yet softly, dropping the pistol into Montagne's hands as he walked away, not bothering to glance back.

medical work had always kept him busy, gustave hadn’t been in a relationship ever since he turned 30. romance was a thing he’d only think of on lunch breaks, you coming into his life had made him stop thinking that love isn’t real.

gustave rather prefers to keep physical affection inside the privacy of your own home, but pda doesn’t bother him too much, he’s not embarrassed to show how he loves you through his words!

for one, gustave calls you all sorts of cute pet names. a few of his favorites are: “angel”, “my light”, and “dear angel”. he likes staying close by your side, there to give you kisses and hold your hands.

he absolutely loves hand holding, he’ll wrap both his hands around yours, kissing all along your hands up to your wrists.

gilles is a strong, dependable and stern man, someone who doesn’t crack under pressure.. however, when it came to you, you made his stomach have butterflies.

gilles, although being an older gentleman, had only been in 1 or 2 relationships before. he has a lot of awkwardness around him when it comes to being romantic, leading to him reading guides on how to communicate with you when the two of you got together.

he gets nervous with anything like pda. ask this man for a kiss on the cheek in public and he’ll struggle for 5 minutes trying to do something so small and simple.

when he’s actually feeling like himself, gilles is a supportive partner, he’s gonna encourage you and praise you, he will always be there to help you feel better.

gilles will wrap his arms around you and hold you closely, sometimes his hugs can be a little too tight to the point where you have to tap his back to let him know to loosen up.

he much rather prefers when you give him kisses over him giving you kisses, he was never really a good kisser, he really likes when you squeeze his biceps or kiss the top of his hand, he says it makes him feel like a princess!
