Money Over Marriage
Art and Story by Sizz~Nee <3
The half vampire Aria Rosehelm has never had to work for anything in her 99 years of existence - her father Reymond Rosehelm, a successful businessman and timber merchant both in life and undeath, has always had more than enough money to spoil his daughter.
But her father has issued her with an ultimatum now that she is about to enter her 100th year: start a business and earn at least 10,000 gold coins, or marry Chaiya Leux, the notorious adopted son of the late Duke Leux.
What's worse is, she finds herself competing against Chaiya's ex-fiancee Victoria, and only has a year to set up a business to earn the money!
——————————————————————————————————
So I made an official side account specifically for this project and the art I'll do for it ->
@money-over-marriage
I'll still be reblogging the MoM art here too, but the new blog will be my archive of-a-sorts, where it'll all be specifically for that story, and any completed chapters <3
I'll also be posting WIPs, Chp ideas, asking for feedback/help, clean versions of cover art, and so on over there too!
(e.g. for extra character designs I might ask for name ideas, etc.)
I deffo won't be working on this as the only art I do, I like drawing fanart too much to only focus on this, but I'm hoping to have chp 0 out before I graduate lol
Also, Whilst I'm probably keeping the title as is, the summary and plot all all still 100% works-in-progress, so things will change, and there will be SO many plot holes bc I haven't written a fiction piece since high school, let alone for a webcomic XD
I don't plan on using @b3-art-archive to archive any of my MoM works, nor do I plan on doing anything with webtoon as of now bc I don't like working on very long canvases, so this will all stay on tumblr fn ^v^

Wanting more homoeroticism in the tension between the show’s leads as the narrative introduces greater intimacy and higher stakes between them, especially in a landscape that lacks queer representation who isn’t a villain or dies within one or two episodes, but also recognizing that core values/motivation for these characters lie in their relationships with one of two major female characters in an on screen sausage fest where the only other woman is a morally reprehensible femme fatale and erasing and/or vilifying female leads in favor of conventionally attractive males is a common practice observed in fandoms that’s rooted in misogyny and justified under the guise of rejecting heteronormativity, thinly veiled double standards, or claiming the woman is simply not interesting enough and not wanting to bolster that mindset

My husband got a $1200 bonus, and he's like now we have money to actually get people Christmas presents. Then decides to spend the entire thing on himself in less than 3 days. 😑 I've never wanted to stab someone more in my LIFE! Then he has the balls to say "I was gonna let you get your tooth fixed." You were gonna LET me?! It's fucking infected. I could die from it, it's not a fucking luxury, it's necessity! Not like, everything you just fucking bought. He spends all of our money all the time, and I can't fucking take it anymore!

Sooo this is random, but I would love to hear your in-depth thoughts on ChrissyxEddie?!
This doesn't feel random at all to me specifically, anon, becaue I've actually been playing around with my Chrissy x Eddie fic I Might Be Great Tomorrow again recently, haha. The hold they still have on me!
I don't think I could actually articulate my thoughts on why they unhinge me better than I did at the time though, so I hope you don't mind links, but:
They're narrative foils and opposites attract!
They compliment each other in both being performers, but with different intents - Chrissy performs to hide, while Eddie performs to be heard! Obsessed with that!
They're a sandbox crush which doesn't get left behind with childhood as they get older!
They just offer so much narrative potential!
Plus Joseph and Grace both just had real chemistry, and there is a genuine drought of that in current TV.

idk i’m just rambling here but one of the big things for ME re: the carlos is already married theory that i’ve been thinking about since i first started seeing it...everywhere (besides it being ooc in my opinion) is that we’re looking at—max—a four episode arc that narratively needs to allow us to catch up with the characters again, before tying together carlos’ secret, his work storyline, iris’ return, andrea (and gabriel) + tarlos, the other characters’ involvement w their story, the storms, and some heavy tarlos plot as teased by ronen. and then we’ll move onto other big plot points and storylines with other characters (likely tommy and marjan, and of course owen), likely leaving us without much substantial development re: the aftermath of the heavy tarlos arc until we focus in on them again. absolving the fact that carlos somehow neglected to tell the love of his life—whose proposal he happy-cried through and accepted at three in the morning without hesitation—that he’s already married and has been for a while and getting through the appropriate reactions to that (no matter the reason), while also setting them up to come out stronger on the other side of that, while dealing with the carlos work storyline effectively, just to have them happily hanging out at the firehouse a few episodes later and presumably wedding planning heavily in episode eight as if nothing happened just. i don’t see it.
also, this is the same show that has promotional material that phrases character death as a “personal emergency” and a proposal as “come to a decision”. i feel like they’re really just playing with our emotions here.
