Hi Reddit, recently I (36m) took my wife (35f) and tried to flee the country due to fear of the revolution that has elevated the lowly and struck down noble privilege sweeping the country. The government has caught me and seems rather displeased with me for it. AITA?

what seems like forever ago, @geryone so kindly tagged me and asked me to share nine book recommendations. after combing through some of my recent reads, here are some of my favorites:
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
My short little summaries and thoughts are listed under the cut:
Giovanni's Room by James Baldwin - Giovanni's Room is about a young man in David and his summer romance with another young man named Giovanni. Through the lens of love and heartbreak, David goes through a journey of identity.
Fight Club by Chuck Palahniuk - We follow our narrator, for now we can call him Joe, as he begins a very unconventional friendship with a man named Tyler. Men fight, they also bite and many a problems arise.
The Kite Runner by Khaled Hosseini- Historical fiction novel that is set agains the backdrop of many events from the fall of Afghanistan's monarchy to the rise of the Taliban regime. I don't think I've cried harder reading a book so that's my own weird way of saying I can't recommend it enough.
For One More Day by Mitch Albom- Little read with a lot of heart. Fictional baseball player has the chance to spend one more day with his late mother, who he misses more than he ever thought he would. Another book that kept me crying into the middle of the night.
If We Were Villains by M.L. Rio - I feel like if you like dark academia; this is an essential. A group of Shakespearean acting students at the fictional Dellecher Shakespeare conservatory get wrapped in a murder and it's an ongoing case of whodunit.
A Single Man by Christopher Isherwood - A delicate look into the mundane crafted through the lens of grief, loss and heartache. We follow the life of George, a middle-aged gay man mourning the loss of his partner. Like Giovanni's Room, I think it's a staple of queer literature.
I'm Glad My Mom Died by Jennette McCurdy - A heartbreaking memoir that's sprinkled with the well timed moment of comedy. We learn about Jennette McCurdy's tumultuous relationship with acting, the abuse she suffered at the hands of her mother, and her own way of working towards healing.
Promises of Gold by José Olivarez - If prose isn't your thing; this might be! Promises of Gold is a poetry collection in which Olivarez family, identity, love and quarantine. One of my personal favorites is Regret or My Dad Says Love
A Short History of the Girl Next Door by Jared Reck - A story about first love that in ends heartbreak in more ways that one. It's first person and it's YA, two things I normally never read, but it's just so so good. Forget crying into the middle of the night, this had me crying well into morning
no pressure tagging: @firstfullmoon and @soracities if you have anything you want to recommend <3

OC masterlist
misc/multiple universes
garv (fishboy)
prima (tropey good guy)
vindicta (tropey bad guy)
ursa (dark magic bounty hunter)
ari (light magic bounty hunter)
urban fantasy/superhero
premise: a timeline that diverges several years before ours where a significant minority of the population across the world contracted strange illnesses that led to various magical powers; focuses on the Eastern United States (aka what im familiar with). themes of disabled justice and solidarity.
micheal (he/they): friendly college kid who always puts others before himself, teleportation powers
jem (any pronouns): an old self-insert, shapeshifting powers
ayaan (he/they): kid with unique powers that mess with the fabric of reality, of particular interest to the villain
emilia (she/her): sociologist studying how superpowered people interact with a society built for non-superpowered people, recently gained fire/energy/plasma powers of her own in an accident
saiorse (any pronouns): software developer and emilia's spouse. he does not have superpowers
alison (he/him): evil CEO (maybe also politician?) looking to take advantage of superpowered people for his own gain. especially young, powerful superpowered people. i do not know how to write villains tbh
high fantasy: the world of An
premise: weird mix of some of the history i'm interested in, with a technological level of around the 1840s to 1860s? focuses on a governmental transition from absolute monarchy to parliamentary democracy and the greater inclusion of ethnic minorities in the political system and society as a whole. the people are sorta kemonomimi-hobbits with mammalian and insectoid features. also has eldritch shit going on in its magic system.
these are some of my oldest characters and have changed a lot, their original concept was a "five elements" thing and that still shows through.
the names are based on my conlang :> i didnt try to make the romanizations look pretty, just functional, so uhh ⟨v⟩ is a schwa and most letters correspond with IPA values but idk if thats accessible. here ill replace j with y and v with whatever letter looks best, you can see the mess of the "official" spellings in the tags. they dont exactly have a gender system like ours so pronouns are what i imagine they'd use if raised in our culture and language yk
baa'oni (they/she): activist reviving the long-suppressed/erased (idk what the right word is) life-related magic practices of their ancestors. name translates to "sundew"
lausa (she/her): noble who uses her position of power to help incite change, eventually becomes prime minister. romantically involved with baa’oni, causing suspicion and controversy. name translates to "shadower"
laanya (they/them): self insert. former water magic student reconnecting to it after trauma, also tries to get involved in activism. name translates to "river delta"
treyii (they/she/he): young and uncertain, pressure is put on him to achieve great things and they don't know where to belong. name translates to "sparks"
unnamed character referred to as "wind guy" (they/he): a vengeful prince with command over the weather.
star wars
premise: focuses on jedi fighting in the clone wars. i mostly made these characters in quarantine lol
aiya (they/xe): twi'lek anakin skywalker on a budget. padawan during the clone wars, becomes an inquisitor.
rakiss (she/they): mirialan; Aiya's fellow padawan and very close to xem. killed in O66
haalas (he/him): togruta; aiya's strict master, very loyal to the light side of the force itself and scared of losing another padawan to the dark side. survives O66, but is eventually killed by aiya, who blames him for rakiss's death.
malice (they/she/it): dathomiran zabrak who was the first padawan of haalas. left the order and turned to the dark side, but isn't with the Sith.
ekiv (she/her): rakiss's master, also a mirialan, and longtime friend of haalas. mom friend, but only because she's a people pleaser with massive gifted kid burnout. survives O66; assumes a new identity and learns how to heal.
hizta (any pronouns): tusken ex-bounty hunter who now runs a droid repair shop on coruscant. acquainted with aiya before and during the Clone Wars, aids the Rebellion.
penelope (she/they): human; old colleague of Hizta's. generally fairly cold and professional until you get to know them; actually very affectionate.
i also have some underdeveloped clone trooper OCs
hollow knight
cornu (they/them): HKsona. void-corrupted snail shaman capable of harnessing both soul and void magic.
unnamed fairyfly OC

Guess who’s back with shitty stats?
Writers in Quarantine
This list is for all fics UPDATED in March, 2020. I’ll be doing another list for new March stories. Happy writing to my fellow authors! Readers, please remember to share the love as we all slowly go crazy from being stuck inside. ALSO! Share this list, because Tumblr will ignore it due to the external links!
As always, I excluded Underage, Rape/Non-Con (LOOK AT TAGS FOR #5), and Crossovers.
And finally, these numbers are arbitrary. This list is not a judgement of works but is merely to push up stories that might get overlooked.
Data pulled April 2, 2020 at 1730 EST
Current Sx: 0.69
Note: Alumni means they’ve been on a major Top 10 list before.
1. There is No War in Ba Sing Se by Polywantsanother (Transparency Note: This is my story.) 9.5/10
Rating: T
Tags: Not Canon Compliant, Alternate Universe- Multiple Timelines, Mulligan AU, Slow Burn (but PG because they’re minors), Drama, friends to strangers to friends?
Words: 27,058
Summary: Zuko went to bed as the new Fire Lord; the war had been ended, his friends were safe, and his uncle was running a tea shop. His future was, finally, hopeful.
When Zuko woke up, he was back on his ship sailing toward Sokka and Katara's village.
Lu Ten is alive, Aang is still missing, and there is no war in Ba Sing Se. Still, Sozin's Comet is coming, and Zuko thinks it's his only way back to his timeline.
If this one doesn't kill him first.
Updates every Thursday!

Tags: High School AU, 1980s AU, Underage Drinking, Smoking, Fist Fights, Domestic Violence, John Hughes, Slow Burn, Alumni (All Fic & Rated M 2019)
Words: 93,675
Summary: High school should be the best time of Katara's life -- her brother certainly feels that way -- but after being ostracized by her popular friends, things aren't looking so good for her junior year. On the other hand, Zuko already hates high school and is just counting down the days until he can get out.
In order to make this anything other than the worst year on record, they'll have to contend with malicious siblings, overenthusiastic jocks, the worst friends imaginable, and, most insurmountably ... each other.
3. The Summit by AJ_Lenoire, 8.9/10

As war-heroes, Katara, Sokka, Toph, Suki and of course Aang are in attendance also.
However, as Katara finds herself yearning for a life beyond that of the Avatar's faithful companion, it appears that politics will not be the only tumultuous waters they have to navigate.

Zuko is the only one who has seen both.

Water. Earth. Fire. Air.
Long ago, the four nations lived together in harmony. Then, everything changed when the Fire Nation attacked. Only the Avatar, master of all four elements, could stop them. But when the world needed him most, he vanished. A hundred years passed and my brother and I discovered the new Avatar, a firebender named Zuko, and although his firebending skills are great, he still has a lot to learn before he's ready to save anyone. Quarantine questions
The lovely, wonderful, angelic queen that is @gloriousglorianas tagged me in these quarantine questions. I miss you, girl!
Are you staying home from work/school?
Nope! I’m a primary school teacher so I’m still working full time and also providing work for my kids who are at home. There aren’t too many children in school though, so I’ve had a lot of time to clean my classroom. I’ve just worked through the Easter holidays so somehow I’m working... more?
If you’re staying home, who is with you?
I still live at home because I moved back for my PGCE/NQT year. I live with my parents, my younger sister, her baby, and our dog. Honestly, it’s been hell. My mum is semi-retired but works from home Monday-Wednesday. My dad’s been furloughed. My sister is struggling with a 4 month old baby with severe colic. And my puppy doesn’t understand why he can’t go out with his friends and play with the dogs he meets in the street. I’ve never wanted my own place more.
Are you a homebody?
Yes! I’d happily spend weeks inside, but now the choice has been taken away, I want to go out all the time. I didn’t realise how much I loved going to Sainsburys. Normally, I’d much rather spend time alone or watching a movie with friends than leaving the house.
An event you were looking forward to that got cancelled?
The Olympics. The first thing I said this year, as the clock struck midnight, was “IT’S AN OLYMPIC YEAR”. Jokes on me, I guess. Also Wimbledon and seeing TSwizzle in Hyde Park.
What movies have you watched recently?
I am currently watching the 2019 Child’s Play remake. I’ve also rewatched all the Shreks while in quarantine, as well as all the Twilights (I like to watch them once a year for fun!). I watched Rocketman earlier today and I’ve rewatched Ratatouille and a few of the Harry Potters as well. I’ve made a very long list of films to get me through the next few weeks though.
What shows are you watching?
I watched Quiz over the 3 nights it aired, which was really good! I watched The Nest on BBC as well. I’m rewatching Torchwood and I’ve kept up to date with S7 of B99
What music are you listening to?
Can I say Lover by TSwizzle? And anything by TSwizzle really. I’m listening to the podcast Casefile on my daily walks.
What are you reading?
What haven’t I been reading? I just read The Selection, which is about a futuristic Asia with a strict caste system, where 35 girls have been “selected” to try and become the next Princess. Despite all the weirdness, it’s had one of the best faux monarchies I’ve read in fiction and I’m already super invested, even though it’s not my normal style of book and reminded me of Grace and Fury! I reread a bunch of Jacqueline Wilson books when she came out and then I was inspired to reread a bunch of The Saddle Club books that I borrowed from the library when I was younger. I read Break the Fall, which is based on the USA gymanstics teams sexual assault problems and made me miss the Olympics even more. I read Outwalkers, which has a horrible taste in punctuation and I read I Am Thunder, which is about a young British-Pakistani girl who is radicalised and written by a British Muslim.
What are you doing for self-care?
I make sure I take my daily walk (which I will never get over saying!) with my puppy! I’m spending a fair bit of time by myself to recharge and I’ve been netflix party-ing most nights with my closest friends. I’ve also been painting, which I am awful at but I LOVE. I could be doing more to be honest.
I’m always too lazy to tag people but, for once, I’m going to tag the first 5 people on my tag list: @duchessofostergotlands @lizisbackbackagain@harryandmeghansussex @thecambridges-family @claireofluxembourg

Do you think you're clever? I can be but I wouldn’t say it’s a dominant personality trait. Did you wear socks today? No, I haven’t worn socks since the last day I went to school :/ Can you remember how you celebrated your 10th birthday? I don’t remember how the whole day went but I do have a photo of me on that day. We were in our old house then and I was at the dining area smiling with my cake, surrounded by my mom and sister.
Know any magic tricks? Nah I can’t perform any of them. Do you sleep well most nights? These days I certainly do. They’ve suspended online classes, and acads is really the main thing taking up my time (and head) most days until recently. Without that I’m just sleeping, eating, and having random bursts of productivity everyday.
Are your nails painted? No. Is there somebody you know that you really don't trust? Yeah I have a couple of orgmates that are a little sketchy. I also dunno if I can trust my mom in the bigger scheme of things - we’re just not close like that. Is there music in your head right now? No need to have it playing in my head, I already have a lo-fi livestream playing on YouTube at the moment. When's the last time you baked a cake? Grade 6 when we baked a rainbow cake in home economics. What time was it half an hour ago? 7:26 PM. Did you ever play cowboys and indians when you were growing up? I have no idea what that game is. Probs an American thing? Can anyone confirm? When did it last rain? My dad said it drizzled earlier this afternoon, but I wouldn’t know because I was taking a nap. The last time it rained and I caught it was two nights ago. Would you like to become a dancer? I would love to be able to dance gracefully and call myself a dancer, but I wouldn’t want it to be my Number One Agenda, as in joining contests or have it be my whole career and stuff. It’ll be nice to simply have it as a hobby. What colour is the bathroom of your house painted? The top half of the wall is white, the bottom half consists of light brown tiles. Which country is to the north of your home country? Taiwan. Name one person of the same sex as you you wouldn't mind doing: My girlfriend. Haaaaah you thought. What is the most gory film you've seen? Evil Dead, but I’ve only seen the 2013 reboot. Is there anybody that you know that you just feel really sorry for? Yeah I guess, like my uncle for stubbornly never getting his life back on track. I’ve been done waiting for him to get better. Do you like the Austin Powers films? I’ve never seen any one of them, even the one Beyoncé is in.
Where is the worst place you have ever travelled to? All the places I’ve been to have been wonderful and it wouldn’t feel right to tag one of them as the ‘worst’ because all the trips have been paid for by my parents lmao. But the one trip that didn’t exactly turn out the way we would’ve wanted it to was Caramoan in Camarines Sur. It was raining almost the entire time, so the scenario was either 1) the rain messed with the cable signal and we only had one channel every time we were in the cabin or 2) we had to make do with being rained on whenever we wanted to go out to the beach. It was also in the middle of nowhere, so we didn’t have internet. Ever fallen down a hole? Nope. That’s one of the scenarios I’m particularly afraid of. Do you like to read poetry? No I hate having to. I’ve never understood poems. What's your preferred frozen snack? Other than ice cream? Idk, frozen fries maybe? Those hit differently. Is rap music overrated? I’d say some are, but rap generally has a rich underground culture as well so I wouldn’t say all of it is overrated. Do you work better in a clean or messy environment? That doesn’t matter to me. I care more about how warm/cold it is, because I can’t start working anywhere I find too hot or else I’ll feel too sluggish. Do you know any vegans? Only from the internet. Filipinos are big meat eaters so it’s hard to find resources for if you want to become vegan. There are vegan food stalls but they’re VERY few and far between, and they’re typically situated in hipper, more cosmopolitan parts of the city since veganism isn’t a known concept here. Earphones or headphones? Earphones. Do you like bananas? Eugh no. What's a film you've seen that confused you? Interstellar confuses me to this day. But I loved it a lot and I enjoyed the premise, and that’s what matters to me. Do you ever wear black lipstick? I don’t think I’ve ever worn it before. You can take any illegal drug without any bad consequences, which one? That’s a really dark question but uh... I’d go with meth because idk, Breaking Bad? I certainly wouldn’t want to try heroin though. What is next to your bed? I have a drawer with my clothes and other knickknacks on one side, and a chest with a bunch of memorabilia and old books I’ve had since I was a kid on the other side. Are your fingernails dirty? Nope. What would you change about yourself appearence-wise? I’d straighten my front teeth and make my teeth in general smaller. I’d also have some hair grow on my left eyebrow because I permanently damaged the hair growth there by plucking too much as an anxiety habit. How long do you normally spend in the shower? Depends on how relaxed I need to feel. If I’m showering for school it takes me 4-5 minutes. If it’s been hot all day like in the summer I’d take up to 15. When's the last time somebody called you "baby"? Sometime today, I don’t exactly remember when. Have you ever had to keep something important from your family? Like... my 4-year same-sex relationship? Yup. Don't you think things feel much better after a good cry? The things that made me cry don’t get better or automatically get fixed, but it’s always nice to give myself a break and to let everything out. Do you think the UK should keep its monarchy? I honestly don’t know enough about their system to confidently form an opinion about it. My only contribution to this conversation is that the royal family does interest me and I know more trivia about them than the average person should hahahahaha. True or false: you'd do Mila Kunis. I’d do her character in Friends with Benefits but like I don’t really feel that way for IRL Mila, mostly cos I’d rather do wholesome stuff with her hahaha. Which colour would you rather have your hair: pink, grey or green? Green > grey > pink. Don't you just hate the sound of people eating? NOOOOOOO are you kidding. Mukbang ASMRs are my faveeeeeee. What's your favourite music video? Meh I don’t really watch music videos. Is it your aim to be perfect? About the things I do, yeah. I’m not obsessed about having *everything* be perfect, even stuff I have no control over.. Ever climbed to the top of a mountain? No. That’s on my bucket list though. Have you ever fell for someone believing you could "fix" them? No. That’s never been a reason I’ve had feelings for someone. Someone's paying for a fancy dinner, where do you eat and who do you take? BLACKBIRD. I’ve wanted to try it for a while now but Makati is a bitch to get to + their food would literally take away two weeks’ worth of my allowance. I’d take Gab with me for sure. Can you honestly say you are truly happy with your life? Not right now, but I’m not hopeless about it either. Can you paint well? I can’t paint at all. Describe a picture of yourself that you hate: The candid ones are the ones I end up hating the most. If you could keep any animal as a pet, which would you choose? Just all the dogs would be fine, thanks. Something you did in the past that you're embarrassed about: I was bidding Gab’s dad goodbye because he was leaving to meet up with his friends or something. Anyway my shoes chose to be slippery that day and I completely tripped the whole way walking over to him and I even unconsciously grabbed onto his arm to keep myself from falling flat on my face. I AM WINCING JUST TYPING THIS OUT PLS SEND HELP Would you rather play a good or an evil character in a play? Evil. It’d be easier acting that way. Do you like porridge? It’s alright. I mostly avoid it because it was all I ate for breakfast from when I was 4 up to when I was 10, and I’m so so sick of the taste and texture by now.
Has anybody ever lied to you just to impress you? Idk, probably. Strangest gift you ever received: Don’t think I’ve ever received anything I was genuinely baffled by. But I try not to be like that - all gifts are gifts so I’m always grateful whenever someone gives me one. Do most people annoy you? Nah. But 14 year old Robyn taking surveys would probably say yes just to sound edgy :/ Don't you think you should really be doing something more productive? Idk man we’re in the middle of a global health crisis. I think being productive shouldn’t be a priority for once. Have you ever felt really out of place? Yesssssss this was me when I was trying to apply for AIESEC. The crowd was just too different and I didn’t last long in the application process. What's your favourite shade of blue? Royal and sky blue. Do you have any odd phobias? I used to be afraid of watching advertisements at night, but I think it’s mostly gone now. What's the longest you've gone without sleep? 18-20 hours maybe. I don’t let myself pull all-nighters. When was the last time you just wanted to be left alone? Earlier this noon when I felt disrespected by my dad. Do you believe in karma? Sure. Can you remember a world before iPods? Nope. Google says the first iPod came out in 2001, and I don’t remember being 3 years old or younger. When was the last time it was sunny? This morning. Would you like to be photographed by Terry Richardson? I’ve never heard of him but I checked Google just now and apparently he’s been an asshat to his subjects? So no. Smoke? Yes please I so have been needing one throughout this quarantine. I ran out of puffs for my vape pen which is even worse. Would you rather have a lazy day or a day of being really busy? I’ve had 31+ lazy days now. I wouldn’t mind a busy day. Do you like the way that spoken French sounds? I don’t get to hear it all that much but it was spoken so beautifully in Portrait of a Lady on Fire, so I guess I’m alright with it for the most part. I just don’t like the times it comes from the throat and it sounds a bit like hawking. D: But maybe it’s just a cultural thing - Filipino isn’t throaty at all so when we hear sounds like that we’re just not used to it. What's the best film soundtrack? As stupid as the storylines were, they really made sure the Twilight Saga soundtracks SLAPPED. Bon Iver, St. Vincent, Muse, Death Cab for Cutie, The Black Keys, Florence + The Machine, PARAMORE?????? They weren’t fucking around. Interstellar and Gone with the Wind also had amazing scores. Where did you go on your last date? My informal first date with Gabie was at a museum + this quaint Italian place in Greenbelt that has since closed. My legit first date with her was at a Bonchon LMFAOOOOOOOOOO Do people find you "cute"? Not really... only my girlfriend calls me that. Who does the best remixes? Eh not a fan. What is most of your money spent on? Gas, food, dates.

I'm not always going to agree 100% with everything in a post I reblog, usually if it's something I feel needs clarification I'll add my stance in the tags. I don't normally have the energy, or feel particularly enthused with having an argument or pointing out exactly what I agree with vs not agree with. I'm not interested in splitting hairs. I figure almost 10 years on this site my position as market anarchist is clear. However I'll list my exact stances.
I believe in no federal government, I believe in the free market, I believe in strong community ties, and above all I believe in the sovereignty of the Indigenous people. As an American I believe that supporting the Indigenous nations here is the truest path to a free and sustainable future. That includes returning land, hunting rights, and following their lead in conservation.
I believe a free market has room for all markets, including voluntary socialism and communism. Unless you plan to enslave people and force them to adopt a specific economy people will always group together as they please. In modern times forming these micro economies would be easy, the government and corporations are what is standing in their way. Moreover even if they are not permanent fixtures a voluntary commune can easily take the role of halfway houses and homeless shelters teaching people valuable trade skills and supporting those in crisis.
People want to help eachother, joining communities and paying into them as a voluntary form/replacement of taxation is how charities do their work. The government does not need to be involved. The only reason we can't live sustainably is because we replaced the nobility and monarchies of the past with huge corporations that own all our land and prevent us from being able to survive without a salary. This is especially true for Indigenous communities who were removed from their land to places with no water and hunting or had those resources diverted.
I fully support the dismantling of the big Agricultural corporations, from farming to cattle, because our taxes go into propping them up via subsidies. That land should be immediately returned to local Indigenous nations, especially in places where the community does not have land rights or reservations. This also goes to national, state, and local parks, because establishing these locations, even in conservation efforts, required stealing it from the Indigenous communities.
I agree that businesses have the right to refuse service to anyone, however I also know that most prejudice and oppression came about because of government intervention and so certain protection laws are necessary to the saftey of minority groups. Stand your ground laws are in place because duty to retreat laws are in place, minimum wage laws are necessary so long as blockades are up against new businesses, and regulations against big businesses are essential so long as those businesses continue to have the power and means to evade justice. We must first remove the restrictions on PEOPLE before we remove restrictions on corporations.
The same goes for things like welfare, Medicaid, and Food stamps. So long as the system is broken the saftey net should be the LAST thing to go. So long as you can't grow food, collect rainwater, and sell goods from the trunk of your car then I will support food stamps and welfare. So long as water and electricity come from only 1 company in your area and it is illegal to have them turned off (and your kids removed from you) then I don't disagree with people who demand it be free. If you cannot unplug from the grid without legal consequence and that grid is using infrastructure built by taxes you were forced to pay then you have a right to demand that service be included in your taxes.
I don't think landlords are all evil leeches, I do know there are predatory practices that have become standard in the industry. I am against non refundable fees like per pet deposits that don't go into your security deposit and get returned to you if there are no damages, I resent expensive application fees, appartments renting for more than houses, rent hikes that are higher than mortgages because the owner does not actually own the house. I have no sympathy for landlords who owe multiple mortgages and rely on tenants to pay them off, and I believe that loss of rent during the Quarantine from unemployed tenants would be no different then loss of rent from the empty home if they kicked the tenant out. If your tenant is paying your mortgage + profit you are not the owner, you are the intermediary for the bank and you should have known better then to "live beyond your means" as they say.
The key fight should be in breaking up the monopolies and helping people live sustainably so that everyone has a choice, but too often small government advocates nitpick every little thing that people put in place to hold those in power accountable. Because its easier to remove OSHA standards when a big corporation is paying for all the legwork then it is to remove restrictions on fruit stands and taco trucks and guys who sell icecream from the cooler on their bikes. It takes less energy for people to add their weight to fights against animal rights for factory farms then it would for them to challenge why you can't have agricultural animals like poultry and rabbits within city limits.
So long as it is illegal to keep your own chickens and grow your own food and sleep in a tent in a vacant lot I don't want to hear about how hard it is for coca cola to maintain their outlandish profits if they didn't hire assassins to murder union employees in Columbia.

I decided to make this because — I don’t know. I’m bored. Anyways... here we go. These are all Bughead (and one Sprousehart) and they’re all accessible on AO3. All summaries are with the fics when you click the links.
A Trip Into the Woods - 63/63 BUGHEAD
Mature - Rape/Non-con, Graphic Depictions of Violence, Some underage (they’re 16/17)
Established relationship Bughead
Basically, it’s the end of 2x21 if it had been placed about 20 years in the future and after Betty and Jughead have a kid
Crowns and Crevasses - 31/31 BUGHEAD
Mature - Graphic Depictions of Violence, Underage (They’re 17), Major character death
Riverdale characters set in a hereditary monarchy environment
NOT CANON DIVERGENCE
Riverdalenerdlol’s canon fangirling Series
PART ONE: i couldn’t stop myself from writing (and i’m not sorry) - 7/? BUGHEAD
Teen - Creator chose not to use archive warnings (or many tags, for that matter)
My collection of Bughead Somewhat Canon Oneshots
Not all of these have much accuracy because I jumped the gun before the next episode was released and wrote
What Should Have Been - 3x06 (If Betty had run away from Sister Woodhouse instead of going straight to the Sisters)
Safe (if Jughead had heard that Betty was at the Sisters and he and Archie chose to go back to Riverdale to save her; Jug thinks she’s pregnant for a minute and flips out)
Fractured - 3x07 (Jughead returns to Riverdale to find Betty at his doorstep wearing clothes from the Sisters, broken and having just escaped the facility)
i’m alright (just bruised) - 3x08-09 (Jughead somehow avoids the quarantine to get to Betty’s house, where he finds more than he bargained for; missing Bughead reunion)
(i always knew) i’d go back to you - 2x12 (Jughead and Betty’s missing moment)
the mercy kidnapping (of my goddaughter) - 3x19 (Alternate ending where Betty gets Juniper out of the Farm)
my worst nightmare (came back to life) - 3x20 (Prom Night as experienced by Betty Cooper + a few unseen moments, just for kicks)
PART TWO: if you just hold me (i might be okay) - 1/1 BUGHEAD
Mature - mentions of violence, character death, character disappearance, etc. and a PG shared shower + fluff
Post-3x22 fic - Betty is quite broken, Jughead tries to help put the pieces back together
PART THREE: push my button (any time) - 1/1 BUGHEAD
Explicit - mentions of parental abuse/abandonment, the Farm, and character deaths... and couch smut
Bughead smut scene from 4x02 plus Betty’s S3 trauma
finding safety (in security) Series
PART ONE - i’m not safe here (and you know it) - 10/10 BUGHEAD
Mature - creator chose not to use archive warnings, mentions of rape/non-con, parental/relationship abuse, some violence, PTSD, where’s the tag for “this story is a kind of depressing sonofabitch with slowburn”?
Author!Betty Cooper (she needs a hug) and Bodyguard! And Protective!Jughead Jones
PART TWO - i’m safe now (and i love you for it) - 1/1 BUGHEAD
Teen - mentions of any of the warnings in part one but it’s mostly a fluff fic
Epilogue to above - a pregnancy and two different timelines almost 20 years apart
the queen (of my everything) - 1/1 SPROUSEHART
General Audiences, no sort of trigger warnings or anything
Lili and Cole go to the MET for the second time (Theme - Camp)
Cole’s POV (which means he’s whipped the entire time because he thinks Lili looks like a sexier Marie Antoinette)
i don’t care who you are (or where you come from) - 3/3 BUGHEAD x Harry Potter Crossover
Mature - bullying, child abuse (and mentions of it), verbal and physical abuse, plus angst, fluff, and smut at the end all set in the Harry Potter universe
A classic strangers to friends to strangers to friends to avoiding each other to friends to lovers fic plus that classing Romeo and Juliet trope where they’re not supposed to be together because parents
The only good parent between the two of them is Gladys Jones
3rd person Jughead POV where he’s a whipped idiot for Betty Cooper the entire time and happens to be a quidditch nerd
Ravenclaw Jughead Jones and Gryffindor Betty Cooper meets pining that turns out to be mutual
i’ll mess you up (if you don’t shut up about her) - 2/2 BUGHEAD
Explicit - sexual tension, fighting, bullying, aggressive/misogynistic behavior, smut, fluff, and praise kinks
A prep school AU inspired by the one and only @lilireinhartsboobs (which was gonna be a oneshot though I was convinced otherwise by her and others)
Everyone has eyes for Betty, especially Jughead... but so does Brett
Brett bullies Jughead and Jughead doesn’t like that one night...
But Betty thinks it’s hot

"Exiled." Gold lights flash. The crown gleaming, drawing all eyes. "Beheaded." Green lights. Red lips pulling back to reveal a gleaming smirk.  "Died." Silver lights. A solemn face sweeping over the hushed crowd. "Exiled." Red lights. Intimidating, sharp eyes freezing the audience without a sound. "Beheaded." Pink lights. Playful, secretive smiles commanding the attention of the room. "Survived." Blue lights. Amestris's first queen raising her fist in the air with the defiance of rebellion. "And tonight, East City, we are..." Lights down. Pitch black. And then— “LIVE!”
Or: two hundred years ago, Amestris was a military dictatorship led by Fuhrer Bradley. After the Mechanic's Revolution, it became a constitutional monarchy renowned for its humanitarian efforts and clean energy initiatives. Six Warriors brought about this grand rebellion, but their stories are only known by a children's rhyme: Exiled, Beheaded, Died, Exiled, Beheaded, Survived. And tonight, they're here to take back their crowning glory.
