I was wondering if assassins in modern au weren't assassin and just lived like normal people what was their job?

Hi, nonny. I'm doing good. Just found some time to rest up after all the moving and unpacking XD

Oooohhh, I like this ask, nonny, but Imma cheat a bit and use a lot of my answers from the modern-day fic I wrote last year XD

Altaïr

I think this will depend on how much you want to reference Altaïr’s upbringing in AC1.

If you want an almost beat-by-beat reference, Altaïr will be heading some kind of PMC that he ‘inherited’ from his foster grandfather. He’s born into the family business and it’s the only life he knows. Reading about new tech helps make the PMC always be up to date with their equipment but Altaïr usually reads any kind of scientific advancement on his down time.

If you want to give him more freedom to choose his own path, his scholarly nature would make him a job in the field of science or history (with philosophy being a favorite hobby of his)

History: more on archaeology who mainly does fieldwork, sometimes goes to conventions and symposiums to talk about his team’s latest finds. His journals detailing each day when he’s in the field are usually published and a lot of people in the field enjoy reading his thoughts… even if he sometimes gets off track and there’s suddenly a drawing of the person he loves in one of the pages…

Science: owner of a privately-funded research and development company (might even have funded it from the inheritance he got from his foster grandfather) and actually leads one of the teams. The company focuses on researching and developing new tech that would make life easier for everyone although Altaïr does have a notebook filled with the deadliest ideas for weapons that he doesn’t really have any plans to make.

Ezio

Definitely born into a rich family that operates one of the oldest banks in Italy and he’s being trained to be a COO. Would have summer jobs in one of their banks.

His passion though lies in the arts and he would paint whenever he needs to relax. His parents agreed for him to take art classes because they want to support him (and Federico is meant to inherit the business anyway).

He meets his best friend in art class and they start a friendly competition of painting the same thing.

His friend is the one who gets recognized but that’s fine with him. He paints because it relaxes him, he’s not there for the spotlight.

Their banks would have framed paintings of his and he still paints as a hobby.

He mostly works for the family bank as a foreign representative, going to other countries to help out a new branch, train the new management, and sometimes talk to possible clients and partners.

Ratonhnhaké:ton

His father wants him to inherit the family business but he decides to take over his mother’s job as the representative of their tribe and the usual liaison that talks to outsiders.

His mother is currently a judge in tribal courts.

He also works similarly to a park ranger and would check their lands regularly, making sure nobody trespasses or hunts in the nearby forests.

The Kenways:

Edward married a socialite named Tessa Kenway a few years after the death of his first wife.

Before that, he used to be a captain of a freight ship. With Tessa’s money, he started his own freight shipping company.

He’s now retired with his son taking over his company and lives with his wife in Kenway mansion. He sometimes visit his son and grandson to annoy his son and to just ‘hang out’ (“Isn’t that what you kids say nowadays?” “… yes. I suppose so?””) with his grandson.

His oldest daughter (from his first marriage) ran away from home after they tried to get her engaged to a rich dude, Edward knows she’s living with Mary and Anne, two old buddies of Edward during his freight ship captain’ing days and visits sometimes. He didn’t tell Tessa though (it was Tessa’s idea to marry her off) because he doesn’t want things to escalate and Tessa has a suspicion that he’s having an affair with Mary or Anne (or both!) while Haytham learned that his sister is fine and living her best life when he tried to catch his father cheating for his mother.

Even in a modern day AU, the Kenways will still have drama. Them’s the rules.

Desmond:

Ran away from a very isolated community that may have been cultists or just really ‘we don’t trust the government’ kind of hippies. Desmond likes to joke both.

Works for a bar that has a new owner who isn’t afraid to try out new things.

Desmond thinks he’s flying by the seat of his pants but his heart is in the right place so Desmond tries to be supportive.

Also… he was given the go signal to adjust the drinks menu and make new drinks so that’s an automatic ‘that’s my boss and I support his decisions!’ for him.

Shirley Templar is his signature drink. He’s other signature drink is “Desmond Take The Wheel” which is just him preparing whatever the hell he wants for a customer who cannot take back the drink because that is what they ordered.

Shay:

Used to work for a freight ship with his dad being his captain together with his best friend Liam.

Hope works as a logistics support for the company they work for and also a radio operator when things get hectic. Shay and Hope may have been flirting on the radio for a while (much to his father’s amusement).

The company they’re working for started making really bad decisions after the owner lost his wife and son. Liam was transferred to another freight ship to be its captain and, during just a routine job, they got hit by a massive storm too far off the nearest coast which they wouldn’t have hit had their course not been switched an hour before their departure.

Shay’s father and a lot of the crew died that day and Shay blamed the owner because the route was approved by him. He refused to settle and lost with the cause being given as damnum fatale.

Haytham scouted him soon after and he was a captain first before being elevated to Head Logistics Officer.

Arno

He owns a cafe that once belonged to his uncle (not related to him but was a close friend of his father).

He’s been arrested for disorderly conduct (he was suppppeeer drunk and his longtime girlfriend/childhood friend just broke up with him) but the officers pitied him so they just let him sleep it off in one of the cells. The dude on the other cell started singing along when Arno began to sing sad love songs. Both of them were drunk though so they made the police officer giving them an easy time… well… a hard time.

He uses the profit he got from the cafe he inherited to buy more establishments.

He’s now focused on learning how to make a bar profitable… by buying a bar.

Jacob

He was the one in the other cell. He got into a bar fight but he wasn’t that drunk. The officers heard the fight happen because some slurs about Jacob’s sexual preferences were shouted by the other dude so the officer just left Jacob with a warning.

He’s actually the owner of a small orphanage and has an out-of-school youth program that usually helps children from high-risk areas. All of this is funded by his family (to be more exact, his sister).

He has a degree in pediatrics and this is his dream job.

This might (if the rumors were true) have been because he had been an unwitting accessory to a tragic fire as a young man that led to the death of children.

He has an adopted son named Jack.

Evie

Doctor, got top marks in her batch, and continued their late father’s job as a concierge doctor. She took over her father’s patients who are all quite wealthy (including the Kenways).

On her vacations, she would join her long-time boyfriend (“You married yet?” “No, Jacob. Jayadeep and I believe-” “Yes, yes, if it happens, it happens, blah, blah, blah.”) who is part of Doctors Without Borders.

She’s officially the head of the Frye family which she inherited from their father but she always gives Jacob his share (“So you’re still a trustfund baby.” “Pretty much, I guess. My sister loves me… as long as she doesn’t have to hear about my latest dumb stunt.”) while also donating a lot to his orphanage and program.

There are rumors that it’s a money laundering thing but that’s unfounded.

Bayek

The police officer who had to suffer thru Arno’s drunken singing of his ex’s beautiful flaming hair and Jacob’s sulking.

Almost always gets the graveyard shift so his fellow officers can go home and spend them with their families.

Used to be married, and had a divorce after a hit-and-run killed their only son, he still has a picture of his family on his table and everyone knows he still loves his ex but the death of their child was too much for both of them.

His ex may or may not be part of the government’s secret intelligence gathering bureau… maybe. Bayek does not know and does not want to know as he doesn’t want to risk her job in any way IF she was an actual spy.

Layla:

Still works for Abstergo and still has a feud going on with Sofia Rikkins.

Kinda friends with Lucy and Daniel Cross, enjoys adding chaos to annoy Berg if she knows she can get away with (or make someone like Robert take the fall).

Likes to drink in Desmond’s bar (technically Arno’s) and always takes the “Desmond takes the wheel” option.

Okay, so these ones aren’t Assassins or Hidden Ones (officially) but I kinda felt bad leaving them out since I wrote about Bayek.

Kassandra

MMA fighter who came from a military family.

Had a falling out with her stepfather when she was young and she left. It’s not clear if she left on her own or if she was kicked out and she doesn’t like to talk about it.

She only talks to her younger brother although her mother is trying to mend broken bridges… it… isn’t really working… unfortunately.

Her brother is in the army per the traditions of their family and she always worries about him.

Eivor

Spokesperson for her foster brother and working to help out for his reelection at the moment.

Her passion is in poetry though (and drinking everyone under but that’s more of a pastime) and she’s working on compiling her poems into a book. Her poems are quite beautiful but tend to be on the side of trash-talking certain types of people.

It took months but the ravens/crows around the area of her home now recognize her and would leave trinkets as a thank you for always feeding them.

Note: not a lawyer so I’m not sure if damnum fatale can be used for Shay’s part but Imma wave my fanfic writer card.

AC Men using peel off masks (while the ladies are watching and laughing at them.)

Altaïr: Pfft, he doesn't understand why the others are screaming and hollering while peeling this stuff off. It's like a walk in the park for him....that is until he realizes that some of the stuff got in his eyebrows and then he is just thinking "well, fuck."

Ezio: "GET IT OFF! GET IT OFF!" Poor man is in tears, because it's all in his beard and sticking to the strands of hair that fell loose from his ponytail. And it hurts. Claudia is trying to help him, but he keeps pulling away so it took Leonardo and Mario to pin him down while Claudia is ripping the mask off of him like a bandage. Meanwhile Leo is not helping by being all like "Now you know the real peice of beauty, huh?"

Edward: Kinda in the same boat as Ezio, except he is a little more tolerant to it. He legit says "ow" maybe once or twice because the mask stuff is also somehow in his beard and sideburns. But it wasn't that bad.

Haytham and Connor/Ratonhnhaké:ton : Kaniethtí:io overheard him say that there was no possible way that using a "simple" face mask cleanser was that painful, and that everyone is overreacting. So, she slapped a good amount on his face and told him "You're going to wish you never said that." Though she also did the same to Connor just to see who will last longer before the stinging of having their skin pulled by the mask becomes too much.

Haytham is making faces and funny sounds as he's trying to be gentle and removing the dry mask off, while Connor isn't even batting an eye (it also helps that he was smart and used a bandana to cover his hair before allowing his mom to put the stuff on his face.) Haytham finally conceded and allowed for Kaniethtí:io to finish off the rest while Connor was watching with an expression that was a mix between amusement and smugness.

(Might do a part 2 to this, to include the rest of the AC men once I try to think of more things to write.)

So I really love the blog modernauass and I thought of this thing that I thought would totally happen in this AU.

Spamming spam callers

Bayek keeps getting spam calls at the most inconvenient times. So Desmond and Jacob take it upon themselves to make the spam calls fun for the whole group. They decide to be unhinged as soon as the call is answered. Chaos ensues often. The other frat members soon join in.

It started with Jacob asking about if the man on the phone wanted to join the rooks

Desmond asked him for his number

Then things got unhinged fast

Alexis screamed “This is Sparta”

Poor Arno just screamed

Conner is very concerned for his mental health.

Kassandra asked if he had heard of death sidous the wise

Modern AU Connor Kenway with some x reader content but I crave chaotic/petty Connor:

- Like whenever he loses you in a crowd, this man will scale the tallest part of the area and then will try and spot you and when he does, he's parkouring down to you and will do a roll landing next to you before standing up and asking if you are okay.

- Also he is still insanely petty and would not get along with his dad so his parents and you two are meeting for dinner and you and Ziio are talking and he opens the door for you with a soft smile but then his dad is about to walk in and Connor just slams the door on him.

- If someone tries talking shit about you, all he needs are a few words to destroy their life and keep them up at night. But seeing as he's a fellow Native, HOMIE DOESN'T EVEN NEED WORDS HE JUST GIVES THEM A LOOK THAT SAYS HE AIN'T GONNA DEAL WITH THEIR BULLSHIT and when they back off, he then grabs your hand and walks away but shoots them a warning glare.

- This man wouldn't hesitaite to fight. He's like a bear, YOU DO NOT POKE A BEAR. As long as he isn't being bothered, he won't bother anyone but if someone is bothering you or him or the BOTH of you then its safe to say that he will very much be meeting them out in the parking lot and then later at their funeral.

- Jk, he wouldn't kill in this modern au but that's not to say he couldn't throw a mean punch.

- He is very much not into kissing on the lips in public or certain signs of explicit affection, those are meant for intimate moments when he is alone with you, but that isn't to say he won't hold your hand, place an arm around your shoulder, and other subtle things. However he will occasionally carry you around or let you piggyback ride him.

- No but he'd totally climb a building with you on his back and he tells you to hold on tight becaude he wants to show you a beautiful view and your hesitant but next thing you know, you're clinging to him like a koala but when he finally reaches the top and you jump down from his back onto solid floor, your eyes light up seeing the city's sparkling lights throughout the night.

- LOVES DOGS. LOVES THEM. He may be socially awkward at times but he will not hesitsite to walk up to someone walking their dog and asking very politely if he can pet them. Sometimes he naturally attracts dogs though, just no reason for it they love him, and they want to be petted by him and it makes him happy and it makes you want to die from THE SHEER CUTENESS OF IT ALL.

- Still a very smart man and honest man, though. Patience is something the Creator blesses him on some days...and then decides not to give him any on others. He's always patient with you though, at least he tries to be to the best of his abilities.

- But yeah no, some days he might be in a mood or he's quieter than usual and everyone's concerned for him so you talk to him about it and he just says he needs a hug, which he can count on you to provide.

- Definetly does axe throwing as a way to relax, brings his own tomahawks and stuff and you like to go with him and sometimes he'll help you with things like form and stand behind you as he guides you and makes gestures of what you're supposed to do but to be honest, you're just there to see his rippling arms throw an axe.

- This man is so damn protective of you, not to the point where he's overbearing but if you're scared, that kicks in his fight or fight instinct.

- Jacob once took all of you guys to a haunted house one Halloween and you got split up from Connor and then one employee scared you thay you screamed and Connor's super selective hearing kicked in and he was just casually running through the haunted house, pushing past actors before he saw you crying from the sheer terror of it all and Shay, one of the actors in the haunted house, trying to calm you down because he knew it was only a matter of time before Connor found the both of you-

- Man's was too late and what ended up happening is that you could hear Shay scream and then silence as Connor walks out with you in his arms, assuring you that it's fine and telling Jacob that he's just gonna take you home and destress with you for a while.

- Shay was found with the hood of his jacket hooked to the ceiling and struggling to get out of it as he curses out Connor in a very aggressively Irish accent.

AC Medical AU

Okay so like I have a medical AU idea. I’m not going to write a fic because I have two already going. But yeah I was just thinking of these and figured i would share :) Also note I know nothing about medical stuff so yeah just a heads up.

Okay first Altair. Altair is an Oncologist (Cancer Doctor). He is the best of the best. He was one of the youngest doctors ever but then botched a surgery due to his arrogance. He almost lost his medical license and he had to work a few years to regain what he lost. Along the way he met amazing people and quit being an arrogant asshole. His best friend is Malik who is an Orthopedic surgeon. He also gets in fights with the Anesthesiologist Maria Thorpe but something seems to be growing between them.

Malik is an Orthopedic surgeon (working with limbs). After losing his arm it inspired him to help make prosthetics and help those with them. He is at the top of his field and knows what he is doing. Altair and him hated each other at first but as Malik watched Altair grow up and learn from his mistake he had great respect for Altair. Malik also loves talking smack with Maira about Altair. This trio works well together since Malik has cancer patients every so often.

Maria Thorpe is an Anesthesiologist (puts people to sleep). She used to work at Abstergo Hospital but they treated her horribly. Altair then convinced her to work for him at Creed hospital. Maria performs exceptionally in her field and is not afraid to correct a doctor. She even yelled at Altair in the operating room and Malik was impressed while Altair was in shock. Maria also gets mad at Altair easily but does love the banter they have. One Maria’s best friend is Elise who is an ER nurse at both Abstergo and Creed. Maria is trying to have Elise over at Creed permanently.

Ezio Auditore is a Dermatologist (skin doctor). It's been in his family forever. Ezio is one of the more attractive doctors and the ladies love seeing him. He is extremely talented with a blade and is said to have the hands of god. His best friend is Leo who works as a pathologist (examines dead bodies). Ezio also has an intense rivalry with Borgia's dermatologist. His siblings are also doctors. His brother Fredrico is a plastic surgeon and his sister Claduia is an OB GYN (Reproductive doctor). Ezio has also been known to sleep around or is this a rumor spread by the Borgia's who knows.

Leo Da Vinci is one of the best Pathologists. He makes some of the best drawings and diagrams of the human body. He is extremely smart and some believe he could easily scrub in for surgeries. Leo is best friends with Ezio and has made special blades for him to operate on people. Leo also has to keep telling Abstergo no about working over there.

Conner Kenway is a Cardiologist (Heart doctor). He is very hell bent on helping his people and making sure they get equal treatment. His dad Haytham Kenway is the medical director at Abstergo. Haytham wanted Conner to follow in his shoes but Conner wanted his own path. Conner loves what he does and wouldn’t change it for anything. His mentor Achilleas helped him alot in his field. He works closely with Pulmonologist (Cardio health) Aveline. They both seem to have a mutual attraction towards one another.

Aveline De Grandpre is a Pulmonologist. She works with the Cardio section of the body. She is all about being fit and healthy. She started this career when her dad had a health scare when she was eight years old. Her step mom works at Abstergo and its very awkward at family dinners. Aveline has gotten closer to Conner since the departments are close together.

Shay Cormac is a Cardiologist at Abstergo. He used to work at Creed but had a nasty fallout with Achilleas over a medical manuscript. As he was job searching Monroe saw Shay’s resume and knew Absertgo would do well. He got Shay hired and now Shay works at Abstergo. Shay also sees the Kenway drama from Haytham's perspective.

Arno Dorian is an ER doctor. This man is used to chaos and can handle it quite well. He is always busy and all sees the worst of the worst. His favorite ER nurse is Elise. She keeps working at Abstergo but Arno is sure he will convince her to work at Creed. Between all the people coming in abruptly Arno and Elise have managed a strong relationship. Arno also got another doctor fired named Bellec after he found out Bellec was harassing Elise about working Abstergo instead of his job. Overall Arno handles the ER with grace and Elise. The only issue he has is his boss Napoleon who thinks he knows everything.

Elise De La Serre is an ER nurse. Her dad is a doctor at Abstergo and her mom is also an ER nurse at Abstergo. Elise works at both hospitals for the pay and benefits. She also wants to impress her parents and Arno. Her and Arno keep the ER together with their skills and cohesion together. Elise is best friends with Maira but gets annoyed when Maria tells her to stay at Creed.

Evie Frye is a Neurologist. Ever since she was a child the human brain fascinated her. She is the best in her fields and published several research papers and projects. Evie does strive for perfection and this has led to issues with her self esteem but luckily her brother is there to help pick up the pieces. He is her PA (Physician Assistant) and the two work well in sync. Whenever she does surgeries Jacob is there to help her. Evie also has a small crush on Henry Green, the head neurologist. Jacob teases her for it.

Jacob Frye is a Neuro PA. He is always there for Evie and knows what she needs next. He was never interested in neurology however being a PA lets him work anywhere including with his sister. He is trying to start a group called the Rooks that help out around the hospital. He also hates Abstergo and how much they charge patients and won’t take most people's insurance. One of his enemies there is Crawford Starrick who is in-charge of billing at Abstergo.

Bayek is a pediatric surgeon. He works well with children and wants to offer the best care especially after losing his son. He works well with everyone and some say he is the real leader of the hospital. He is also known for his awesome pet Senu who he will bring sometimes to cheer kids up.

Aya is Bayek’s wife, though their relationship is rocky. She is the head OBGYN and makes sure all her patients get the best treatment and medicine. She has published many papers and wants to be a professor at a university. She had a major fallout with another OBGYN named Cleo. After that Aya has become more reserved in her work.

Desmond Miles is a jack of all trades. He is a General Physician (just an average doctor) but if you need him for surgeries, dermatology, or even just to help out he is there. He gets along with Atair, Conner, and Ezio the best. He was mentored by all three of them during his residency. Evie was fascinated by his term Bleeding Effect after he could perfect what his mentors did after one try. Desmond is beloved in the hospital and everyone loves to work with him and they all make sure to stay clear of his William Miles. William Miles is Physician Executive( the guy who does all the paperwork) and doesn’t get along with everyone.

Rebecca Crane is the head of IT. You need an update on your ipad done, the website down not anymore its back, some crazy Abestergo employee trying to hack in no worries Rebecca is there. She is the best at her job and everyone loves her. She gets to meet tons of different people and loves getting to know them. She is also hell bent on stealing or borrowing tech from Abstergo since they are the leading medical tech hub. However they are no match for Rebecca.

Shawn Hasting is the head Lawyer for Creed. He makes sure no one can get a penny from especially Abstergo who keep trying to sue them for stealing their medical tech. Shawn usually hangs around Rebecca and Desmond. He’s not too familiar with all the medical stuff but he does love learning about it. Shawns has everyone back and is ready to jump theri defense.

Kassandra is a Psychiatrist (Mental illness doctor). She loves understanding mental illness and wants to help those around her. She studied under one of the best doctors, Hippocrates. She works closely with assistant Kyra and hopes they can have something more. Her whole family works in the medical field so competition is high. Her and Evie love talking about the brain and Kassandra has helped Co-Author several of Evie papers.

Alexios is a physical therapist. When he was a kid he hurt his leg and saw how important physical therapy is. He is also super athletic and does several marathons. Him and Malik work closely and try to help each other develop the best prosthetics and movements. Alexios also has fierce rivalry with his sister Kassandra.

Eivor is an Infectious Disease Physician. They have seen it all and want to help make harder to detect diseases more detectable. They were interested in all this since they were a child and saw part of their village in Norway get ill. Eivor also works with their brother Sigurd which is awkward since Eivor may have or may not have slept with Sigurd's wife Randvi multiple times.

“Well, a few millennias ago, a race of powerful-”

“I am not talking about the Solar Flare and you know it!” Bill glared at his only son who had been a quiet obedient kid…

Until he became friends with the three banes of Bill’s existence…

The other three narrowed their eyes at him which Bill ignored.

They had always been a bit too protective of his son.

But that only served to spoil Desmond and Bill wished he could find a way to pull him away from their ‘influence’ but they were the best field agents right now and Desmond needed to learn from the best.

But that did not mean…

Bill turned his laptop around where a video titled “Awesome Beastmaster Clears By The White Hood Gang!” was paused. It already had 21 million views and it had only been a goddamn day since it was uploaded. That kind of statistic was simply too much and Bill was quite sure Abstergo most probably rewatched this… a lot.

“So… anyone wants to explain this to me?”

All four men remained quiet and adopted blank expressions on their faces.

“Did none of you even consider that those cameras would have been recording even IF the shooting was scheduled tomorrow?!”

They all looked at one another before Ezio, their usual spokesperson, explained, “We were running away from Templars after acquiring the POE they had been delivering nearby. We noticed the obstacle course and decided it would be much faster to proceed thru it than to go around it, perhaps even lose some of our pursuers in the course itself and give us more time to get away.”

Ezio was surprisingly serious as he concluded, “It was a calculated risk we needed to take to accomplish the mission.”

Bill stared at him with a ‘don’t bullshit me, kid’ expression as he pushed the spacebar.

The laptop’s tiny speakers soon let out Ezio’s holler of “You gotta be faster than that, fratello mio! My younger brother is faster than you!”

Ezio didn’t twitch even as Bill said, “And was trash-talking Altaïr also necessary in completing the mission?”

The video kept playing and they heard a commentator that had been added to the video announce, “Oh! White Hood No 1 just grabbed 2 from the back and pulled him down! He skids- AND he’s able to hold on to the chains!”

Bill turned his not-angry-only-disappointed-and-having-a-headache-because-of-your-stupidity expression at Altaïr, “And sabotaging Ezio? Was that also necessary?”

“It was planned,” Altaïr replied vaguely and all four kept their blank expressions on.

Bill glared at the supposed prodigy of their Brotherhood and wondered if Rashid would mind if he hit his grandson on the head with a rolled-up newspaper.

Repeatedly.

“And 3 and 4 just jumped over 2! 4 is even laughing and-”

“A little help?!”

“You can do it! We believe in you!”

“-It seems 3 and 4 will not be helping 2 up!”

Bill turned to glare at his son and Ratonhnhaké:ton who he had thought would be above all this.

It seemed he had been wrong.

Bill finally clicked the spacebar once more to pause the video and rubbed the bridge of his nose again as he announced, “All of you are off the field until further notice. You will all be in support duty while Erudito cleans up your mess. Report to Shaun for further instructions.”

“Yes, sir.” They all answered curtly.

“Dismissed.”

He waited until they were all out of his office. Then waited a couple of minutes more to be sure they wouldn’t see him in their Eagle Vision before groaning as he slumped into his seat. He took the secret bottle of scotch he had in the bottom drawer of his office desk and didn’t bother to take the glass next to it, simply twisting the cap off and taking a large swing from the bottle itself.

Maybe he should just ship them all to Achilles.

Make them do actual ‘field’ work as punishment.

Then again…

Achilles would probably hunt him down and cane him in a week or so of having to deal with their own brand of bullshit.

All these crossovers, and I have yet to actually write any because fuck commitment apparently

Anyway, have a lil one shot idea:

Desmond Miles x Alex Mercer

But instead of “meeting the parents” it’s meeting the ancestors.

Whether it be time travel bullshit, modern au, or a Visitors au situation (if you haven’t read the series, I highly recommend)

I just want the old assassins, who at this point bonded with Desmond and genuinely care for him, to meet his literal human virus boyfriend and go “what the actual fuck Des”

Some are concerned, others confused, a few are suspicious, but ultimately respect Desmond’s decision to date Alex, if not give him the ultimate Assassin’s style shovel talk.

Even if they can’t actually kill Alex, they’d find a way if he dares hurt Desmond (or worse) break Desmond’s heart.

If you wanna have extra fun with it, a superhero au, a fantasy au, or a royal au.

Y’know, just to spice things up.

One’s comforting and one’s sad AF 🥲

Connor Kenway + “I appreciate you”

You barged into you and Connor’s shared apartment, deep within your thoughts you didn’t notice his cheerful “hello”. But he noted that stressed and exerted look on your face. As you reached the bedroom, you threw your bag to the side before flopping face down with a deep sigh. The day replayed in your mind: harrowing tasks, being on your feet all day, endless calls, loud and entitled customers along with an equally incompetent manager. Tears began to prickle in your eyes as the overwhelming stress from the day melted from you. Connor had lightly tapped at the bedroom door, hearing your soft sniffles, before entering in.

“Y/n, you alright?” You responded with a small head shake of “no”. Feeling the bed dip where he moved beside you, you relaxed a bit as Connor’s hand massaged and rubbed your back.

“That much of a bad day, huh?” You turned your head to look at him with your tear-stained eyes. “Something like that.” He laid down by your side with that smile, that bright smile that rivaled the sun on the best days. “Well, if it’s any consolation, I appreciate you. Love you. And adore you.”

Jacob Frye + “this will be the last time you lie to me” + Mentions of break-up 😭😩💔

It had been a routine for some time, but you didn’t want to admit it just yet. What had once been filling your heart with joy just felt robotic. You reciprocated and went through the motions as if it was second nature, but it felt lacking. Jacob started to catch on as well, the tight smile and darting eyes, but he dudes want to admit the truth yet. If he did, it would confirm the worst fears he never wanted to face. You both got your answer the last night he held you.

“Do you still love me?” The tension could’ve been cut with a knife. “Of course I-.” He abruptly cut you off.

“No, not just an answer. At least tell me the truth if this is the last time you lie to me.”

You knew this day would come, but you couldn’t bear this image anymore. It wasn’t fair to Jacob or you. “I do love you Jacob, but not like it was before.”

You felt the sharp pang of guilt through your heart as you heard his shuddered sigh, trying to hold back your own tears. “Is it another?” “No, there’s no one else…it’s just..life, things

Another minute that felt like an hour passed. “Can I still hold you, even if it’s just for tonight?”

“Yes.” Because there was a part of you that didn’t want to admit the truth either for some time.
