I’m literally begging y’all not to disclose your trauma in order to justify and validate your tastes in fiction.

The people who are or you fear are going to get on your case about your fantasies, taste in fiction or how you identify? Do not give a shit about you. Or the trauma you have faced. They don’t give a shit about other trauma survivors either, and they don’t care about how callous and shitty they seem. All they care is about controlling and policing people they think they might have a sliver of power over.

You can block or clown or do whatever you want. (I recommend blocking, don’t feed the trolls) But please for the love of god do not tell random strangers on the internet who have absolutely no business knowing you’re traumatized and have X Y and Z mental illnesses from it.

Don’t reveal yourself as vulnerable, don’t paint that target on your back, and don’t give people access to possible triggers that may hurt you.

The burden and onus of proof that something is the direct cause of harm is dependant on the person who believes that it is harmful.

Every single person deserves the right to make bad stuff.

Esp with like marginalized groups there is more of a pressure to make the “perfect creation” a Magnum Opus. To fight back against oppression and marginalization. There’s something to prove.

But this standard… to create amazing things, isn’t normal, it isn’t even realistic. Our trash is not indicative of our worth as people, nor our works worth. And how can we create the amazing and the show stopping. The genre-defining, if we aren’t allowed. Or bar ourselves from experimenting and exploring?

I personally think it's a lot more weird to look up the age of a character on a wiki, find out that their age is under 18 from that wiki and insist that anyone who draws suggestive fanart is weird freak who's into minors than it is to see a random character and go "oh that's cool I like them" then draw lewd fanart of them.

No but some ppl really force found family into the nuclear family model and then get mad at you for shipping something outside of that lens.

I really think that people who believe it’s their responsibility to police other people over what fictional depictions can be displayed and what other people can read would rlly benefit from asking themselves what they believe. And why they think that.

Sometimes, there rlly is no patience to kindly explain 2 someone why they’re WRONG.
