“Everytime I go to X Characters tag I see DISGUSTING shit that people write like non-con or incest or something yucky like that. I just wanna see nice things and fluff but you FREAKS keep showing me gross-“
Oh my god learn to curate your own damn experience, and block people/tags instead of bitching about writers who don’t write exclusively to your tastes. Tumblr is EXTREMELY good for this. Take advantage of it.

Okay well that might have been the intent but the way it reads, is that they’re genuinely upset that a demographic they think are predatory doesn’t want to interact with minors.
And like, man I know self awareness isn’t their strong suit but if I said this I would be deeply reflective abt my beliefs.
Tumblr media
This is a take that I've seen many Antis making lately, and I think it reaches peak stupidity for a number of reasons.
A: It's so stupidly bad that it's easy to twist their words around and say the obvious: "Oh, so you think if there's a minor in the smut it's okay to show it to them?"
B: I can be naked in my own house but I can't go out on the streets naked. Meaning, it's my blog, you stepped-on cardboard sheet, as long as I put the appropriate warnings I can put whatever the fuck I want in it.
C: It's probably the most terminally-online take of them all. Because it shows you have really ZERO idea of what a minor is /l-h.
You can't seriously think a bunch of pixels with an arbitrary number attached to them is the same as a REAL flesh and bone minor; age in fiction means literally nothing when there's characters like Ash who'd been 10/11 for as long as I've been ALIVE and characters are able to live ridiculous lifespans of 1000+ years. Also, minors are rarely written to feel like minors, because they're usually put in situations where the average minor can't even see themselves in.
And of course, thinking your brain is stupid enough to not recognize there's a difference between a minor in real life and a minor in fiction, would put you in the same category as animals who don't recognize their own reflection in a mirror. Please give your brain some credit, evolution worked really hard on it.

Are these people seriously getting angry that a demographic they think is harmful and genuine predators, because of the porn they write. don’t want to interact with actual minors. Because they write porn.
Like this is endangering kids more than any kodocon could ever possibly dream to do.

No but some ppl really force found family into the nuclear family model and then get mad at you for shipping something outside of that lens.
“Sibling-coded” is absolute nonsense. Insisting that two people apart of a “brotherhood” are actual siblings is also nonsense. Accept that people aren’t a going to always agree with you on headcanons, and that you can’t control them with by weaponizing the nuclear family.

No, no, no.
Do not do this.
This is post is so clearly aimed at those with intrusive thoughts and OCD. Who can’t just “cast off the bad thoughts.” (Also what are, Catholic now?) And trying to do so? Causes them to feed into it, making them feel distressed.
Thought crimes do not exist, period. Thoughts are not your feelings, opinions or beliefs. And they certainly are not your actions. End of discussion. That’s it.
You are not a bad person for not doing X Y and Z ritual about your thoughts to appease some judgemental stranger on the internet.
reminder that having thoughts doesn't make you a bad person, acting on them does.
yes, even the most vile things you can think of! and i'm not gonna say "oh a bad person doesnt worry if theyre bad" because that only causes people to spiral even more for the validation
instead i'm gonna say that: remember those thoughts have nothing to do with you as a person, they're just nuisances that are there to stress you out, not what you truly feel or want

"See I like the optics of fighting for people who have dealt with CSA, like when I can use it as a piss poor excuse for policing content I dislike! But I don't ACTUALLY want to, or care to help them. That's just way too hard!"
it would be a little easier if the people who were "coping with childhood sexual abuse" by making content that is perfectly described as "child pornography" seemed a little less gleeful about it. But what do I know.

I really don’t know how an average Twitter user lives without going absolutely insane. And how the fuck are you going to actually defend the Christian institution and pretend like you’re progressive over it?

Not these ppl literally weaponizing copyright law on Michelangelo's statue of David to try and censor what can be created using it's image. Because it's apparently "offensive" and "diminishing it's political and religious significance" if u create something that isn't somebody on their knees lapping at it's dick in reverence. This better backfire horribly on these fuckers. I will be pissed if they legally create a precedent that is "UwU don't create things that romantic- disrespect this piece of art!!!! Or we fucking sue u into oblivion!!!!"
You don't keep any beautiful art's relevance alive by policing how people engage with the art. And creating things about it that are "respectful" in YOUR personal opinion. And you can be mad at capitalism for doing whatever it can to create a profit diminishing it's status, but hate the game don't punish the player.

I’m like… idk, confused (?) by that waituntilwinterr person’s take. Because my understanding of it is that they’re claiming, “harassment is wrong, but so is having positive feelings about bad things and then writing about those positive feelings. Therefore, the most moral and productive thing to do is to sit around seething and fuming that other people are enjoying fictionalized versions of things we all know are reprehensible in real life.”
Which just seems odd to me, in a way I can’t articulate. According to them, positive feelings about fictional versions of what would be bad irl is immoral, but that immorality… what? Just has to go unaddressed? It’s not like anyone can go into other’s minds and tinker around to replace the badwrong thoughts with good ones.
Like, why bother with the thoughtcrime nonsense if there’s no thought-law-enforcement or whatever? See, I just go towards “thoughtcrime isn’t real but that doesn’t mean all thoughts are conducive to healthy living” as opposed to “actually if you don’t feel the same way I do about this topic then there’s something broken in your moral compass”
I'm not really sure as to what they're possibly thinking, but the way I had interpreted it was "you're a filthy sex pervert, I don't respect you, but I also believe that you shouldn't be harassed" and that's why I chose not to engage any further than the question "are you okay with harassment" and the sly "the people you decided to engage with, don't disagree with you on the sentiment that children should not have to face being sexualized" (I could have went harder and said to not willfully misrepresent them. but eh)
From the way I see it, they want a valid reason to call other people who don't have the same squicks as them, hurtful names. (which is a bad look for them) But don't actually think the people doing things they disapprove of, is THAT harmful. And that's the thing I truly care about. Is whether or not they are trying to justify the action of harassment.
They can think whatever they like about me, I don't necessarily care about what a reactionary has to say about people who don't follow their ideologies. And I don't care enough right now to try and argue to change that opinion.

Well looking at the conversation, I don’t think that’s a statement they take issue with. Anyways,
You’re free to think whatever you want, I just care about actions.
Also to clarify I'm not "pro ship" nor am I "anti ship/anti anti" both sides are equally toxic with harmful views. It certainly feels like two sides of an extreme
Do I think online people should be shamed, bullied and targeted for fanfiction? No. Do I think people have the creative freedom to do as they please? Yes.
However.
I also think portraying subjects such as abuse, romantizing ships that involve literal not aged up children, and especially horny posting about topics like incest, pedophilia, etc, is morally repulsive even if it is fictional and will actively not want to be associated with those people in question.
"ItS fIcTioNaL-"
Okay. But you shouldn't find the concept of abuse cute, you shouldn't be aroused by children fictional or not, these very fucked up concepts should disgust you even on paper.
No one is against writing dark subjects, the problem is romantizing and fetishizing said subjects. Especially since the entire point of these dark topics is to be disturbing not cute ship fuel.

Honestly? OP You’re allowed to think it’s gross or morally reprehensible. I’m going to think you’re wrong, but that’s completely in your right to think whatever you want.
The question here is, do you think these people deserve to be harassed? Or do you think we should just block? Because you’re giving a lot of different answers.
Also to clarify I'm not "pro ship" nor am I "anti ship/anti anti" both sides are equally toxic with harmful views. It certainly feels like two sides of an extreme

Aw man :,) I’m really sorry abt that anon, you didn’t deserve that! Nobody does!
I hope you’ve found other friends who aren’t going to act like that, no matter what happens.
It’s much easier to make friends and feel like you belong when you’re not worried about being eaten alive for questioning things :3
