Tikki's face fell out of its warm expression, if only for the smallest fraction of a second, and Marinette was terrified to find that behind it all, Tikki's eyes were cold and dark. "He loves you because you have the earrings, Marinette. Do you really think it'd ever happen without me?"

"-But he doesn't— I haven't-"

"It doesn't matter that he doesn't know. None of that matters," Tikki clarified. The kwami went up to caress her holder's cheek. "All that matters is that you two are going to get your happy ending one day, okay? Just like I promised you."

Do someone have any fanfic recommendation of an identity reveal but like, not just between Marinette and Adrien, but everyone? Like, the whole Bustier's class or the entire Paris or a bigger social circle tan Marinette, Adrien, Alya and Nino? I would like to read something like that but not really finding any which catch my attention... or any at all

so what passion is establishing, at least to me, is that adrien and marinette love each other differently.

to be fair, this has already been established in the show, where adrien has this fairytale-like, outspoken love for ladybug while marinette had a very passionate or obsessive, secretive (at least in her mind) love for adrien. but as the love square is shifting, its becoming apparent that the way they love/show love is changing as well.

ill start with adrien first. adrien’s love for ladybug began in origins when he vowed that he’d love whoever was beneath the mask (and homeboy was NOT lying about that). but he would go overboard sometimes with the flirting, and it took ladybug a long time to understand that he was being genuine about his feelings. however, as the love square has shifted, the way he has begun to show affection for marinette has changed as well. it seems sincere, more-so than ladynoir, as if he has matured and began to understand what love really is. we see in passion how softspoken and shy he is outside the school when talking to marinette. he has this kind of quiet confidence as well, showing that he knows what he wants, even if he is nervous about admitting his feelings—he doesn’t doubt them for a second.

marinette on the other hand, seems to have changed how she shows love as well. as ladybug, we already know how marinette’s personality seems to change—she has more confidence in herself as ladybug, and this is apparent. passion also showcases marinette’s insistence to move on from adrien because of her mistake, and because she feels chat noir is a safe alternative. but throughout the episode, we see ladynoire being incredibly thirsty about chat noir in general. she points out how his suit compliments his eyes, she yells at the akuma to “not harm her handsome partner’s face”. marinette seems to be talking to chat noir the way she used to talk about adrien when she was alone with alya (see hey hot stuff voicemail from season 1). its almost as if she has no filter and is saying the first thing that comes to her mind, regardless of how ridiculous it may sound in the moment.

in my mind, they both have changed a lot since their initial feelings were made known by the writers, and i believe they’re showing us their growth through how they are now showing their feelings to one another (adrien being more sincere, marinette not being afraid to speak up about her feelings).

Marichat

marichat being the first side of the love to go canon is something so personal bc it has always been the fan-favorite and has been given a fraction of the screen time the other sides of the lovesquare have gotten. but that’s what makes it so good, chat noir & marinette haven’t had the same development as ladynoir or adrinette except they have and the other one doesn’t know it. i’m sorry but nothing will ever beat marichat.

something i love here is that there’s a shadow where marinette’s eyebrow and chat’s bangs over line. it’s not an animation error but it makes her look angry.

and if i had been in her place i would’ve been pissed too! i mean, she finally got to kiss the boy she liked, after giving up her crush on Adrien, only to have Chat reject her on moral principle of power dynamics (king </3) get AKUMATIZED almost, and then have the boy she loves snap her out of it by kissing her - like that’s messed up!!

but you know what? she has every right to be!! her ranting before she got akumatized about the fact she was tired of people telling her what’s good for her, and then later in the episode her breakdown after chat leaves, asking tikki if one day someone will love her. marinette is mad, and i’m honestly dissapointed (but not suprised) she wasn’t akumatized. god marinette it’s been a DAY.
