Shiro's not naive enough to think that Keith doesn't still have them, but he's suppressed them to the point where he might as well be emotionless. Nothing good has ever come from them, and they just get in the way of what the Garrison wants him to be- a weapon.

A weapon has no need for emotions. No need for attachments. All a weapon has to do is obey the orders its given.

But Shiro? Shiro cares about Keith. There's so much that he wishes he could give him that he can't. Until one day, suddenly he can. They're also in the middle of a war, which... isn't ideal for convincing a kid that they're not actually a weapon, but he'll make do. At least Allura and Coran are willing to help him.

The truth is... Keith doesn't know what to think about Shiro. Some tiny part of him that still recognizes his own emotions realizes that he thinks of Shiro differently from the other members of the Garrison's command. He tries to not dwell on it- he's his commanding officer, especially out here. He's glad It's a good thing he's here. He's not sure what he would do without him who he would take orders from. Allura? It's not like he can't think for himself, but he's not... used to it. There's always been someone to give him commands.

Except for Shiro.

It's not Shiro who commands him to take an Altean pod and use it to ram the black lion to keep it out of Zarkon's hands. It's not Shiro who commands him to face down Zarkon himself either, in a situation where he has the clear disadvantage. But Keith does that anyways. It's easy enough to rationalize- the black lion is critical to Voltron. To the universe. He is not a paladin, but Shiro is his commanding officer- therefore their mission is his mission.

He's not a paladin. This is the only thing he can do to protect Shiro the mission.

I think there’s a lot of reasons why cleo trusts scott so much but I do wonder if scott blatantly saying fucked up things instead of keeping it to himself is part of it. The acknowledgment that he’s smart enough to have done that but actively chose not to is comforting, rather than being around someone who just doesnt think about it. Because I think, to Cleo, that says more about a person’s trustworthiness. Because she’s had people who dont think about it choose the other option before.

I’m not tagging this with a thing because I don’t feel like getting jumped today but whew I was pleasantly surprised at the amount of people finally realizing that Dazai doesn’t actually give a shit about Sigma past “this is a person -> this person became involved in a dangerous situation -> the right thing to do is my best to try to keep them alive” NOT “I must keep this person alive because they matter a lot to me personally and I would be very sad if they died or got hurt” 🥴 plus also the fact that Sigma is useful to him for information, I do think he would’ve tried to keep him alive even if he wasn’t useful, but NOT because he cares about him or has some sort of personal interest in his well being 💀 (he also would probably not have tried as hard if sigma wasn’t useful)

Genuinely /never/ understood why anyone complained about Preston being annoying or giving too many quests, at all. Like it never would have even occurred to me on my own anyone might be annoyed by the Minutemen. I’ve played genuinely horrifying numbers of hours of that game. I was General and I took every quest they sent me, and it’s not bad. It’s really not that much. If you take care ya damn settlements and build them defenses and stuff, they don’t get attacked much. It was a non-frequently occurring radiant quest and like yeah? I literally agreed if my own volition to take on the role of answering citizen requests for help? “You can’t talk to Preston without-“ what are you talking about? I’ve traveled with him for irl days straight and never /once/ gotten a radiant quest that way. Yeah, before I had found settlements the first time, sometimes he’d mention a new one. Then it was right back to normal convo. And even that was literal years ago? Now they just come up on Radio Freedom, or Pip-Boy requests. Preston’s easily one of the most wonderful and fun to travel with??? He’s just a very good, pretty, nice young man with a cowboy hat? He’s kind and fun and thoughtful? What? What’s wrong with him, his coat’s too long???

I think policing what people can and cannot write based off moral value is a slippery slope and will never just end at things that actually hurt people, especially not in a society that sees gay and trans people existing as actively harmful. I will not judge what two consenting nonrelated adults do in their own privacy and what they choose to roleplay is their business but on the Internet especially , the things you post and the content you make can and will affect people, this is a reality and responsibility you need to accept.

First day in a while that I’ve gotten genuine writer’s block! The brain is not focusing. The fact I didn't get tickets to see Taylor actually feels like a relief now. Non-Argentinian people who will be attending the shows are not only being threatened "because they got the tickets that were supposed to be for Argentinian people" (I've seen some awful threats, including d*ath, r*pe, and ab*se), but they're also facing the fact that Argentinian fans are searching and booking flights they'll never take (so now prices skyrocketed), and they're locking all the accommodations in Airbnb and Booking (so that people have no place to stay).
