There are so many things from the finale to take in, but this man showed up and ruined my life. I swear he knew what he was doing, giving Aziraphale that offer. He knew the pain he would cause me Crowley. He set them up and knew exactly what he was doing. I blame him for everything, and it just goes to show that Metatron is the bane of my existence in every single setting.

Thinking about the scene before the Metatron even goes to the bookshop where he asks Nina "Does anyone ever choose death?" And she goes "??? No?" And he says something like "I suppose not. So predictable." And gives the camera a Look.

Also thinking about The Look that he gives Crowley before he leaves with Aziraphale and the ominous music that goes with it.

Something something, I think he was lying about being able to restore Crowley to angelic status because he knew Crowley would say no anyway. Because nobody chooses death.

Something something the point of this visit was to separate them and not just to find a new archangel.

I can't get behind the coffee theory. Aziraphale, for the most part, has believed in God's plans and, when he could, tried not to work against Heaven. I 100% believe he would return to try and make it better, and he might just have to learn there is no real way to fix it and that it's an institutional problem.

Good Omens S2 thoughts

Ok, for people who haven’t watched season two of GO this will contain spoilers so I suggest watching it, it’s very good! Anyway, you know the Coffee Theory? I’ve seen things recently about how the decision fits with Azi’s character and everything, and I agree, but with a caveat. First, there was something in the coffee, but it just made the whole Heaven thing seem more logical, or just made Crowley’s ideas seem less logical. I think this because Metatron is an asshole but he’s also smart, he definitely knew that Azi is faithful to Heaven despite everything so instead of making something that made him agree it just made it so if Crowley fought against it, to Azi they would sound crazy or something.

Also, I’m sorry but why did Ineffable Bureaucracy get a happy ending? I’m glad they did but I still don’t like it! I get that the reason is they actually talk to each other and everything but I’m aloud to understand something and still be upset about it!

I feel like Muriel was supposed to be the opposite to Gabriel in a way? Like, give Azi and Crowley a better sample size rather than douchecanoe Archangel. They are curious about humans and their life, they naturally want to help, they actually care about humans, they are one of the lower ranked angels, they seem like a pacifist, honestly the lost could go on. I think the point of their character is to give Azi a better reason to believe heaven can be saved. If this angel can be kind and empathetic then so can all angels! They just need some encouraging!

Long story short, Neil os an amazing writer but I would still hit him if given the chance, just on the arm but still. Metatron is an actual demon and no one can tell me otherwise. And finally, billionaires suck. Fuck you for not paying your workers enough and keeping the entirety of this fandom, and many others I’m sure, from their well deserved finishes that aren’t eternally sad! Honestly the amount of fix-it fics on ao3 says it all. I’ve written one myself though I haven’t posted it. Anyway, the series is great, I hope the strike ends soon so they can all get their well deserved money and we can all stop crying and finally see our favorite angel and demon kiss when it isn’t a desperate attempt at getting each other to listen. If I had a nickel for every time the Metatron was initially presented as a kindly and benevolent figure, but as a war between angels, demons, and humans of apocalyptic proportions grew closer, revealed itself to have more sinister intentions, I'd have three nickels. Which isn't a lot, but it's weird that it's happened three times.
