What do you think would differ in the climax to CACW if everyone on Team Cap made it to Siberia with Steve and Bucky? As in, what if Sam, Clint, Scott and Wanda were in Siberia with Steve and Bucky instead of locked up in the Raft?
*It has been a while since I've seen this movie, so I did check plot summaries to make sure what I thought was correct. I don't tend to see MCU stuff more than once because, for me, at least, I just. don't like them that much. (Sometimes I go back to fact check stuff for fanfic, but like. probably not as often as I should, tbh.)
Well.
For the rest of Team Cap to be there, that assumes one of two things: 1) that they so completely defeated Team Iron Man that they all got to Siberia unimpeded or 2) Team Iron Man didn't make it to the airport in time to stop them (for any variety of reasons, which I don't want to get into because not necessary).
In either case, it assumes the rest of Team Iron Man chases after them, unless they got so beaten they couldn't follow for whatever reason, so like. let's be real, Disney doesn't want to pay that much money to do TWO mega battles, but we're having fun thinking things through here, etc. etc.
The first case means Team Cap doesn't get there quickly enough to save the Super Soldiers. The second supposes maybe they do. It also supposes that Tony doesn't end up finding out that Zemo framed Bucky (which he did post-airport fight. according to my plot summaries. because why would he have fought them in the first place if he'd known that. so).
We could go a really unfun route and assume that Tony and Team Iron Man see Steve and Bucky releasing the other Super Soldiers for rehabilitation purposes and battle over it, but I don't think Vis would go with that - and I honestly don't think Tony would go for that at this point either, which would really just lead to whether or not they listen to Steve and Bucky about Zemo - which. T'Challa is the one most likely to not listen at this point because revenge is his bag in this movie, but Vis could do some searching - or maybe did on the flight over - to figure things out. At which point, Wakanda would probably take Zemo and the Super Soldiers maybe, but you lose the whole punch Zemo wanted of Bucky killing Tony's parents and the betrayal of Steve knowing, which is really the crux of that last battle.
So I guess they wouldn't have much of a battle here, but it doesn't feel like a climax the way it should and would be not great story telling, if I'm honest. Also means this option - option two - would have no big battle between the two sides at all, unless we suppose the Super Soldiers activate immediately for whatever reason - maybe Zemo barks out the codes while the others are arguing - and then they fight them, but like. then you can get the shot from Tony in about this is why you wait and get all the info first with a quip back from Steve about how they hadn't been doing that in the first place - and it still doesn't feel like what the audience is paying for, which is the big fight between the two sides.
BUT if we're going more far-reaching consequences, they're all still together when Infinity War comes around, instead of scattered because half of them are fugitives, which would probably have helped with the whole Thanos thing. (Because Vis wouldn't have been offline! But then you don't have Vis clearly wanting to choose Wanda, the fugitive, over what he's supposed to be doing - and you also lose that he's still aiding and abetting a fugitive - like, you lose some of the weight of his decisions in their relationship because there would be no reason to be keeping their relationship secret, etc. etc. BUT also if they were all together, maybe he would have made it to Wakanda earlier and gotten the Mind Stone removed from him, so maybe he would have survived that, even though he likely wouldn't have survived the Snap. But that's me spitballing.)
Option One assumes that things progress more similarly to the movie, only Tony can't find out about Siberia from Sam because Sam's, you know, gone, so Vis would maybe have to try to track them, which means Vis at least would be with him (maybe), and like. at that point, even with the reveal about Bucky killing Tony's parents, there are too many people who could restrain him from that.
But you'd also have four people who have lived through their family being killed for no reason as a result of someone else in the room - Wanda, Zemo, T'Challa, and now Tony - so there's a possibility when it gets personal like that that Wanda, understanding where Tony is, might understand his desire for revenge and immediate want to kill Bucky, but like.
Again, you lose a lot of the weight of the moment. It's possible that Tony splits from the Avengers as a result of everything but that the rest of them continue as they had been, so you still have some semblance of a split while Tony mentally goes through some stuff, but that's different than the scattering we see at the end of canon. I still see his arc playing out roughly the same in Infinity Game, but you might get the added benefit of maybe Vis still gets to Wakanda early enough to not die - a lot of the Vis/Wanda differences you see as a long effect of Option Two would likely still play out here.

so much happened in this whole episode but i’m still on fig infiltrating ruben’s dream, making it look like the place where his friend was murdered, and then disguising herself as kipperlilly & repeatedly saying different variants of “somebody needs to take the fall for this, and it’s not going to be me. it’s going to be you.” while adaine as the elven oracle shows up next to her. can you imagine waking up from that, the idea of a horrible truth being pinned on you by your friend to save her own skin while the personification of fate and destiny stands there, almost as a promise that this is GOING to happen to you. we don’t even know if this kid is guilty. my god.
#fantasy high#dimension 20#fhjy#fhjy spoilers#fantasy high junior year#fig faeth#ruben hopclap#lucy frostblade#the rat grinders#adaine abernant#kipperlilly copperkettle#watching fig terrorize him like girl!!! we don’t even know if he’s guilty!!!!#this might just be for me but i do not think 5 teenagers willingly brutally killed their friend idk#like there just has to be some other element to it and i am very scared to find out what that was#what if they were put in a position where they felt there was/there was no other choice… like oh my god#my comedy brain is having fun but my ‘this is a teenager’ brain is in such deep distress all the time this season#the rat grinders i trust brennan to not make u cartoonishly evil so i am holding u as gently as i can in my confused shaky hands#also with the devil’s nectar i’ve been wondering why they all seem so well-adjusted & now i’m curious if they’ve been intentionally-#changing their memories in a way so that either the trauma is lesser or they think they aren’t guilty. idk#but it seems like from how gertie was talking she was making it more recently so the well adjustedness from early jy doesn’t quite add up#they could have another source maybe??? idk i’m just low stakes 4 a.m. spitballing here#there’s also the strong possibility that they’re aware of what happened but they weren’t the ones who killed lucy. idk who knows#the way you could probably devil’s nectar yourself into believing it wasn’t your fault someone died… CRAZY IMPLICATIONS!!! Undercover ghost x mafia wife DONT DO THIS TO ME LO. DONT PLANT THAT IDEA IN MY HEAD.
Don’t imagine reader was sold off incredibly young to her current husband who’s twice her age as part of a deal. Don’t picture her living life surrounded by greys until her husband new right hand man comes into her life. Don’t imagine ghost forced to listen to you cry as your husband has his way with you.
Don’t imagine Simon trying to get you to flip, to become a snitch, he’ll keep you safe. He can put your husband away, you just have to trust him.
NO BECAUSE KAT THIS IS EXACTLY WHAT I WAS THINKING
I might be really messed up but I also kinda want her husband to care so little of her that he’s literally using her as a part of his business deals. sharing her with his clients—including ghost.
it’s supposed to be just for the night to sweeten the deal between your husband and undercover!ghost who is posing as a weapons dealer for the mission, but something about the way ghost looks at you feels different.
he doesn’t make you feel used like the other men do. the way he touches you is caring: the way he talks to you gentle.
it all feels safe, and good. it’s all something you have never known before, so is it really your fault that mister bennett is suddenly all you can think about?
I’M JUST SAYING.

movie Shadow should be so assured in his own power that he is completely confident and collected in dangerous situations , it would make sense he doesn’t talk during fights, his power doesn’t require words to make a impact . And he becomes tense and uncomfortable in mundane situations because he simply doesn’t have the framework for peace.!.!.!. And his power is so intense and hard to control he would need someone to navigate softness for him,.!.!.!.!. That’s all your honour

i do think its a bit of a pity that the english speaking players get praised for their eloquence and a lot of people’s reasoning for voting right now comes down to wording and semantics during the debates when the players who don’t have english as a first language don’t get that kind of grace yk ? its not like they aren’t trying just as hard to get a point across, but fluency DOES get in the way even though they’re all pretty good speakers
maybe a countermeasure here would be allowing the non-english speakers time to write down their answers and think them through? maybe an extra minute or two where they get access to the questions before the other candidates and have the opportunity to organize their thoughts

Let me talk about this shot here
Tumblr media
(I’m a new fan so if this has already been said, but better, I wouldn’t know. Sorry.)
Obviously one of the most striking (lol) things about it is the bruised face & knuckles, but I’m going to ignore that for now, because I want to talk about the look on Ian’s face.
When I first saw this scene, this look confused the shit out of me. By contrast, look at how Mickey’s looking at Ian:
Tumblr media
You’ve seen this before. This screenshot is used everywhere. It’s a look full of love, joy and overwhelming emotion: to put it simply, he’s happy. Don’t get me wrong, Ian’s looking at Mickey with an incredible amount of love too, but “happy” isn’t really the word I’d use to describe it. It’s more along the lines of disbelief: of course it’s surreal that he’s marrying the man he’s been through so much with, but Ian’s attitude to his relationships at this point should be, and usually is, different given his broader experiences in that area – surely he isn’t the same kid he was in the earlier seasons, baffled by every new situation their relationship is put through.
But then it hit me: he is. Like the rest of us, Ian is carrying every person he’s ever been with him in this moment.
This specific look on Ian’s face is not coming from 24 year old Ian, finally deciding to marry the man he wants to spend the rest of his life with.
This look is coming from 15 year old Ian, harbouring a giddying crush on the closeted boy he’s just started sleeping with – amazed that he ended up marrying him.
This look is coming from 17 year old Ian, unsure if the guy he’s dating even likes him at all, watching him get married to a woman, desperately wishing they could be the couple he wants them to be – amazed that he ended up marrying him.
This look is coming from 21 year old Ian, in a relationship with someone else yet still dropping everything to run away with his convict ex, leaving said ex to cross the border alone, genuinely believing he would never see him again – amazed that he ended up marrying him.
He’s carrying all those versions – as well as every other version – of himself with him in that moment. Of course he can’t believe it. Happy endings don’t come around every day.

Little Sonic very much was a little shit with an additude[affectionate] that had only himself to take care of, to pick the most dangerous and coolest path perceived to him and never let himself be hindered by bystanders. But then suddenly he had another kid to take care of. He had to learn to be responsible for more than just his own survival, he had to ration his resources better, to take the needs and desires of another person into account, to slow down explain and be patient, and realizing that having people around that he can lean on is a good thing sometimes. (even if he doesn't really carry that lesson with him. He knows it's there but a dunce hat on you if you think he'd remember it's there for his own sake)
But what if he met Tails way down the line or never at all? What would their relationship be like then, when Sonic mostly figured himself out with no strong outside influence.
I believe he would still go from doing what's cool to what he believes is right, beat Eggman along with any villain that crops up in his path, and make friends all over the world, but without Tails by his side so early on, I don't think any of the relationships he could hold would be as deep or meaningful to him because he only ever had himself to worry about, never feeling the need to connect with anyone beyond friendly hello's and occasional team-ups to defeat the big bad of the week. He would be friendly, but without a little guy around to always keep an eye on, also double the reckless and additude heavy speedster one would be usually accustomed to.
Always at arm's length and never quite reachable, no matter how close he holds his friends when rescuing them from a mad doctor's trap.
Always feeling there's something missing.

So, the voices of brainrot won so I had to put this into words cause I have been thinking about this idea for about… two hours now and I HAVE to put it out there.
The character I was thinking about was a Sonadow fan kid Void made by the wonderful @emthimofnight . Go check out all of her work, it’s absolutely divine! Her stuff is what ultimately inspired me to start drafting my own Sonadow fan kid.
Anyways, I, the romance writer that I am, was trying to think of how the actual hell a romance Void would even come about. A TL;DR summary on Void as a character: Void is narcissistic, greedy, selfish, born and raised villain with a god-complex so massive it makes Mystic Messenger’s Rika’s complex look angelic by comparison. A romance between him and… well- literally anyone- would never work. Despite his good looks, no romance would get past the other person’s attempts to initiate as, in Emthimofnight’s own words on Void on a post about their character’s reactions to being confessed to, “He just assumes it is natural for someone to be attracted to him… …whether he actually reciprocates is entirely determined by what he could get out of the person confessing.”
However, in my continuous back and forth with myself, I kept coming back to the second and third words used to describe him, greedy and selfish. The reason being was that I technically already knew how to make a character like that enthralled into a romance thanks to a manga called, “Welcome to Demon School! Iruma-Kun!”.
To keep myself from completely spoiling one of my, at the time of writing this post, two favourite archs in the whole manga, I’ll just describe the way the mangaka makes the greedy and selfish character fall in love with the object of their affection: B gives A a smack to the face with reality that their is someone above them, A’s sudden confusion and yet fascination with this new complete stranger who just broke into their head, the fascination leading to A trying to get B, only for B to be constantly putting themselves just out of reach A’s grasp, driving A to only want B more, finally, both dumbasses are into this so it keeps going.
The second step onwards aren’t exactly hard to to imagine happening, as they are just natural consequences of both characters’s writing, leading both characters to make to follow step after step. It was just that first step that was putting me in a bind. What in the hell would you have to do to make Void even consider you to be better than him? So, I kept trying to go back to what gave him the god complex in the first place. It was his ability to fight, right?
That’s when it hit me: someone just has to beat him in a fight.
Before you say that’s impossible, firstly, nothing is truly impossible in writing, secondly, if we’re talking about fighting, if someone is just as gifted as him that has done more training than him, bitch is getting his ass handed to him. People with god-complexes often either stop, or never started with gifted people, improving themselves in the area that gave them the god-complex in the first place. It’s why villains with them are defeated more often than ones without them.
Just imagining Void deeper and deeper into all consuming, rather obsessive, love that slowly drives to actually start getting stronger and stronger, while literally everyone watches in object horror, and as those who try to control him try to force him to stop, the end up giving up their hand, making Void doing the most selfish and greedy thing he could have ever done in that situation, leaving. That kind of stuff is what I live for.
Anyway’s, thank you for coming to my TED Talk, Imma go pass out now.

i hope that bad's current arc culminates in him going antagonist for a bit.... just. imagine it. imagine. he's nigh unkillable. he keeps feeding himself to the soul vultures. he is the ONLY one who has access to the soulsteal potions (the admins disabled the crafting recipe while dapper was experimenting with it...). soulsteal is mostly a combat thing- it takes the damage you do to an opponent and gives it back to you in hp. that's terrifying. and, in lore, basically only useful against the codes- the only antagonist where there's a combat element. but the codes are pretty securely dealt with by etoiles right now. so. how else could the soulsteal come into play...?
if it was used against the other players.

I’ve been thinking about Donald (*collective gasp* yes, I know, it’s shocking to me too) again and the possibility that Tasha might not be his first or even second wife but, what if she’s his fourth? I feel like he’s the type of man to be married more than three times which makes me dislike him more but it’s literally just a headcanon for him also, what if he had children with those women? So there would be more than Adam, Bree, and Chase.
They only way that they find this out is Kaz and Douglas doing a deep dive because they got bored together once so they decided to go look into Donald’s old life and so much more. They just causally bring it up like it’s common information meanwhile Bree and Chase are like, “What in the actual fuck?” and they just give Donald weird glances, even Tasha! She’s a bit offended that he didn’t tell her about his other wives especially when she’s spoke of Leo’s father. She doesn’t like talking about him but Donald pushes her to talk about him to get over him.
When confronted he just tells them, “I thought it wasn’t a big deal to talk about,” so Tasha, Bree, and Chase are just so done with him at this point. This man has other wives and he could have other CHILDREN somewhere 🤨💀

thinking abt metal sonic and how they communicate. like do they come up with little signals and sounds to convey certain things to others. tapping in morse code. do u think they learn how to write. taking away their voice was meant to make them less human but then they learn to write down their thoughts in an entirely human way. IDK and then im thinking if they got a voicebox in the future would they even use it all that much or would they be so used to not having it that theyd rely more on other ways to communicate. idk. when your voice is an item that can be taken away do you value it more or less than if it was a given right

*slaps hand on table* alright imma say it: i am bewildered by how many people seem to have taken the idea “John and his Empire are Evil, therefore the opposing side must be Good” and just ran with it.
im not even like, upset, just totally puzzled about the fairly prevalent interpretation that the entire BOE movement is some brave grassroots rebellion with no glaring flaws or moral issues when we’ve seen them use nukes, various forms of torture, and child murder to achieve their goal of…. well we don’t exactly know what they want yet because our only real perspectives of their goals came from 1) a ten page appearance of an ex-leader who has been dead for about 20 years 2) three people who are BOE prisoners of war 3) a BOE memorandum that was like five pages of misinformation about necromancy
so i just don’t exactly get the warm fuzzies about them but somehow people are like “yeah BOE seems GREAT!! viva la revolución! #DownWithJod”. the easy acceptance of BOE as the “good guys” is especially surprising cuz muir seems hellbent on bringing nuance and layers to her novels (which a black/white hero/villain conflict would be pretty out of left field for imho). i mean don’t get me wrong, the houses and john are def not the good guys here, i just don’t think BOE wholly is either.

Warning: I am 20000% spitballing, a relatively new crow, and also not up to date on qsmp because the sleepy has got to me. However I'm having fun spitballing here.
So looking at Philza having canonically died before... The baby zombie is the obvious one, right? And because of the trident being significant we know Season 2 happened in at least some form (the giant trident in Endlantis used to be Philza's, but he accidentally threw it into the void in HC Season 2. In the void it warped, and twisted, and became the giant one we see today.
So, HC Season 2 happened, because the Ender King's first message came with said trident and also a picture of it.
So the Baby Zombie thing did, too.
Thing is... even hardcore deaths are part of how minecraft works, right? You can't go back to the same world, but it's normal gameplay. Just like the deaths people respawn from. So could it just be those ones you just respawn into another world? Also the talk of something preventing him coming back... Which, yeah, could be that. Who knows.
And then there are his other two hardcore worlds. TBH they may well not be canon in QSMP, but I bring them up as the 'deaths' are super interesting.
3 is pretty well known, I think? Philza died to a glitch where the world didn't load in fast enough and he fell to his death in the void as the floor wasn't there. Or something like that. There was definitely a glitch involved (which, incidentally, is why he no longer updates his hardcore world to new patches as soon as the patch comes out - the glitch that killed him was a problem with a new patch that hadn't been caught before release and was itself patched a week or two later iirc. So, now he waits until other people have had a chance to die to glitches rather than risk his world again). Which, would be a fun death to have as the canon one tbh.
And then there's Season 1, where I don't /think/ he "died", per say. However, the world data itself became corrupted via hard drive crash (has later been repaired, but the repair came much later after he'd already moved on but in one of his youtube videos he does show it off). This to me is the really interesting world in the context of that quote? The talking about something preventing him from coming back. His transition between 2 and 3 and 4 was... Well it was a hardcore death, but it was fine. However from 1 to 2 he went from a corrupted world to a non-corrupted world and talk of something interrupting the process, preventing people from respawning as they should... HC Season 1 became a corrupted world, reality broke down and things ceased to function as they should. Philza did not flee it until it was broken, perhaps we could consider him killed by data corruption rather than a baby zombie or by a glitch and the void? And if he died via data corruption... That really does sound like something that could hinder his ability to return in the natural way, no?
IDK I just think it'd be fun for him to have died to a world breaking apart around him and struggled to respawn into a new world (like he was supposed to) because the universe itself was fucked. Possibly even he himself was affected by the corruption and it had to be repaired to come back.
(I know there's something about layered realities and reincarnation but I'm having fun here)
