whew this is a big lookbook! i’ve been working on daphne’s wardrobe for almost nine months now 🤯 mind blind is really special to me for many reasons, but a huge one is how it exemplifies just how much little choices can build character development. all it took was that chapter 1 option to have the mc sleep on bamboo sheets because she “likes a little luxury” and daphne walked into my head fully formed! the game has so much heart and humor, the personality choices are so unique and thoughtful, i could go on and on but 10/10 recommend, more on daphne below.
i had originally had little notes written by daphne on her outfits, but i scrapped them because it looked too cluttered. however they were cute and important to her character so i’m just gonna write them here!
everyday: can you believe grayson still won’t take a hint despite the baby tees daphne wears?! she lives to make him blush. also those vintage von dutch jeans are her prized possession
formal: spot the dress she wears to reese’s dinner party! the rest are for blending in at nick’s unity events-- enough to avoid the press while still catching the eye of an attractive stranger.
athletic: daphne puts on these outfits to walk on the treadmill for twenty minutes then take selfies
sleep: nick and sally constantly roast daphne for her obsession with cute pjs. nick complains that the money she spends on nice pajama sets is a major drain on resources
party: daphne’s favorite clothes to wear to the underground music venues she attends every weekend. music, especially live music, is her best coping strategy. the attractive company also helps keep her mind off grayson.
swim: daphne had big ideas for a post-graduation trip with sally to turks and caicos. though the vacation fell through, she kept the outfits.
hot weather: some remnants of her coconut girl phase, and rarely weather appropriate.
cold weather: no these are not all warm enough for chicago winters, but fashion is pain. also daphne rarely leaves the house without her headphones on

Favorite OC: Avery Lin, no surprise. I don't even think she's that creative or interesting of an OC, I just can't stop thinking about her ever.
Newest OC: This is cheating a little bit, but I'll say Denver Sinclair. He was once going to be a character in a zombie apocalypse IF that I was plotting out (probably never going to happen), but I'm trying to develop him as a Golden MC. In his original universe, he was an economics major whose goal in life was to become a millionaire/inherit the family business (and impress his absent parents, who abandon him and his sibling in the midst of the apocalypse). In the Golden universe, he's a psych major, still kind of manipulative, very much a snobby rich kid who looks out for himself first. But I haven't made it through a single playthrough because it physically hurts to pick options like "Your wages aren't ideal" 😭. The other (still cheating) answer is...Avery Lin as a mermaid lol.
Oldest OC: Violet Dane, who is an MC for Body Count but originated as the main character of a terrible murder mystery I wrote as a kid. Body Count universe Violet was a teen detective, traumatized after a version of that original murder mystery. She took it upon herself to solve a string of disappearances and murders at her high school; succeeded, but was nearly killed in the process. But, you know, time to move on. Go on a dating show. Death isn't going to follow her everywhere.
Meanest OC: Rose Blum, from Fallen Hero. She has so much anger and she's done hiding it. Actual killer which is...pretty mean.
Softest OC: Daphne Wiseman, my main Mind Blind MC. She's just the sweetest. Everything she does is so full of love...when it isn't full of guilt for the mean thoughts that drove her mother away.
Most Aloof/Standoffish OC: Freddie van der Hoek, my Infamous MC. Not great at expressing emotion unless they've got an instrument or a microphone in front of them. Maybe also Forest Rojas, who's super underdeveloped but aloofness is basically his only personality trait rn.
Dumbest (Affectionate) OC: Rider McQueen has one braincell and Ava is holding it in a pocket of her cargo pants for safekeeping. (He's not actually dumb, just incredibly emotionally driven and sometimes panics and does exactly the wrong thing.)
Smartest OC: I think most of my OCs are smart by default? Lots of scientists in particular. Maybe Wren Hudson, a Body Count MC. They finished school early, never quite fit in, but are yearning for a fairytale love. A hopeless romantic and a scientist and these things can coexist.
OC I'd Be Friends With: Luz Solano is kind of similar to my real life best friend. Super ride or die, a go-getter, takes pride in befriending everybody (which is how we'd become friends).

1. Tell us about your current project(s) – what’s it about, how’s progress, what do you love most about it?
so many too many 😭 i have some short wips percolating but as far as projects go, i’ll just write about @mamma-mia-if (Senior Week). it’s my Mamma-Mia-inspired IF. MC is a high school senior who, with the help of their scheming but loyal best friend, invite three men to their school’s senior week events in the hopes of discovering which of the three is their biological father.
it’s progressing...very slowly. very slowly. too many choices about choices and possible routes. how do i do character customization in a way that feels organic. what am i doing with this character (berni). why am i doing this. so that’s kind of where my head is at with that right now.
i am most looking forward to writing all the different routes with ivy (mc’s best friend). mc has a lot of options as to how they can feel about ivy and some of their choices, some of which will be locked behind OTHER choices, and idk a good conflict with your best friend is what every coming of age story needs.
2. Tell us about what you’re most looking forward to writing – in your current project, or a future project
once i get some of my other wips under control, i’m excited to start thinking about my zombie apocalyspe if, Shambles (a dev blog exists right now but i won’t link it because empty). it's going to be goofy and sitcom-y and weird.
3. What is that one scene that you’ve always wanted to write but can’t be arsed to write all of the set-up and context it would need? (consider this permission to write it and/or share it anyway)
have some Chargestep I've been sitting on for ages. I tried to write a context for it and it went off in a different direction so this still doesn't have a home yet.
4. Share a sentence or paragraph from your writing that you’re really proud of (explain why, if you like)
Here’s a Blood Moon related thing I wanted to finish in time for the Mid-Autumn festival.
And who are you, exactly? Are you the screaming carried by the wind (ripclawtearkill), or the howl of your pack (packpackpack)? Are you the black-furred cub crunching rabbit bones between her teeth, or are you the little girl pouring the rest of your rice porridge into your mouth because your mother told you the monsters would come if you don't?
Are you the grown woman who saw what was left after the monsters came? (The den painted red like the lanterns.)
Or are you the monster yourself?
5. What character that you’re writing do you most identify with?
All of them lololol. I think the vast majority of my characters have a significant part of me at their core, but especially Avery Lin and Daphne Wiseman. (Avery is the cynical version of me, Daphne is the sweet and hopeful version of me.) Of Senior Week, I find myself identifying most with Parker (who is a little easier for me to write than the others).
