No bc fuck tim but it really really bothers me how people ignore his growth like he used to be an asshole and I’ll give tim Stans one thing: now he’s so so so stale but what I disagree with is that this staleness is bc nobody likes him like it’s in fact the exact opposite where everyone likes him so much they dont want to do anything. Even when it’s him surface level challenging Bruce it’s when everyone else is doing it too; but he’s still the backbone of the fam! Etc. and it’s so irritating bc him gaining more compassion and empathy even for people he doesn’t fw is so fun to watch and that’s why the captain boomerang thing was so out of character! (Not in a from the author way but in a tim wouldn’t do that and he and Bruce both knew it which is why it went down like it did. Same way dick killing joker was ooc; not in fanon sense but in a he would hate himself forever for this sense) and speaking of that it’s such an interesting mirror to Bruce who genuinely believes that everyone can grow vs Tim’s it doesn’t matter if they grow it’s not my decision to make like it’s the same but it’s not AND WITH CASS’ IT DOESNT MATTER IF THEY CHOOSE NOT TO GROW I WONT DO IT! like ugh. And anyways even when people acknowledge it they boil it down to “Janet and Jack taught him that the capitalist pigs that they are” like no. This is who tim was. Tim was the kind of guy who’d blame a dead kid for dying. That’s ok. Also Janet and Jack? Please reread anything involving them that’s not a fic like Jack had anger issues and they were both aloof at worst like relax.

This storyline where all sides are encouraging the protagonist to face his inner demons is so interesting, because Lloyd himself is the one being very resistant.
This character has suuuuch an unhealthy track record of internalizing his trauma & negative emotions it’s not even funny. For years Lloyd has been hyper-aware of any negativity he feels and tries to bottle it up as tightly as he can. He feels like he has to be the responsible one, lead the team, always uphold good, never act “in a way that doesn’t befit the green gi” or have an angry outburst, else everything falls apart.
It’s gotten to the point Lloyd has developed this extreme sort of mentality that acknowledging his own shadow even once will suddenly make him become exactly the same as his evil father, which is his greatest fear. Heck in the unstable state he’s in right now, a single mention of someone saying that is enough to set him off. The bottle is about to burst at any moment.
Feeling upset, sad, and angry are valid emotions that make us human, we all have that “dark side,” which is what I think the Oni power metaphorically represents. The wording in the trailer is for Lloyd to “embrace” it, as it’s the very blood that flows throughout his body, just like it is for all of us
The general theme of this season is like a journey of finally accepting the darkness. We’ve already seen our characters dealing with forms of grief, “Emotions, even unpleasant ones, do serve a purpose” as Zane says. Might take a breakdown or two, but you know Lloyd will eventually come out the other side stronger. I gotta applaud the writers again for sharing important messages like these in the series <3

Are you optimistic about season 26?
erm um… no?? 🥲
Season 25 and Streaming Wars had their moments, but overall the delivery of ideas felt lackluster. Much like the last 2 years, I expect a running theme. Essentially, the season won’t really be a season per se, but acts as narrative buildup interspersed with side episodes—though they will loosely connect to the season—leading up to the 2 specials airing later this year. It’s a solid game plan on paper, but s25/SW was super dodgy. I feel the saving grace was Tolkien’s renaming, and Cartman’s whole hot dog arc thing that just got set up. I know Randy was given competition (finally! the little resistance and pushback to his hijinks has done serious damage to his character) but really the biggest takeaway I’ve seen from fans/merch is stuff from Cartman’s arc. (cartitties).
However, I feel Matt and Trey have been revitalized by the concert, Casa Bonita’s opening, and their deepfake deal. It’s a double edged sword though, because now Mattrey are juggling the opening of a restaurant, production for the video game, their deepfake studio… I’m worried their attention will be divided and affect the quality of the story this season.
TLDR: Very mixed feelings, though not quite approaching cautiously optimistic… I expect the fresher ideas (HotDog) to get sidelined and Randy will remain in focus.

God, I hope I manage to get people reading this fic even a HUNDREDTH as invested in this character and the family I completely invented out of whole cloth for him who have been living rent-free in my head for like two years now and steadfastly refused to make a story work until now, because I needed to get a good bit out of my head before I went to sleep, made myself cry because I cry ABSURDLY easily, and now it’s like four hours later and I need to actually get to FUCKING BED ALREADY but words keep coming, my fic is too sad, and I use a CPAP that already finds my face shape tricky and don’t want to combine that with my messy crying.
I’m just saying, it’s not fair I inflict this on myself while WRITING it. Rereading it later, sure, I’m fine with that, but writing it? What am I doing, using these characters as an outlet for emotional catharsis? Gross. Inefficient. I can’t keep writing when I need to routinely stop and wipe my eyes.

I wonder if the chapter after Mission Impossible is over for him will see some of Cruise’s best work as an actor. I’m so curious to see what the 3rd act of his career has in store including which roles he’ll take and which directors he’ll work with. Feels like there’s tons of potential
whatever he does PTA and i both agree: he always has something in his arsenal and you should never bet against him

maybe it’s just me but there’s something about the way that hotch’s wife ends up treating him throughout the series that doesn’t sit right with me, like i understand she feels like they never see each other and he’s not there for jack due to work but also like you married and had a kid with him already knowing that? idk, i don’t think she’s a bad person or wife or anything like that but part of me just feels really bad for hotch i guess?
