The idea of dragons in modern times is so fun because imagine a hot summer day on your vacay and go to use the hotel pool and staff is like "valued guests we regret to inform you that the pool area is out of service at the moment, we apologize for the inconvenience"
And people like "wtf why" looking out their hotel room window and there's this. This dragon just curled up in the pool chilling, literally, cooling itself down
Some of the staff are trying to gently shoo him away and the dragon does a soft little "rrrrrr" like a grumpy cat and a warning puff of smoke and they're like "fuck it i don't get paid nearly enough for this" and no ones using the pool today sorry!

Patch got a haircut (it’s been a long time and he was pretty ragged so we told the groomers to just take it all off) and this is literally the best picture i have been able to get of him

hello, fandom artist. in front of you is a canon character with curly hair. your task is to draw them without straightening it and making it look spiky. should you fail, the saw trap will activate, killing you in an instant. good luck

sorry i just need to ramble a bit more about ep 9!post-rescue!gale after he makes his way back to thorpe abbotts because this has been rattling around in my brain like a peanut in a tin can.
like… the sheer force of the guilt he must have felt. for making a split second decision in pure, unadulterated panic (which he was loathe to do in literally any other situation) and running when he had the chance. the chance that bucky had given him.
and he left bucky behind without so much as a second look (<- as remembered by his anguished brain with tortured memories).
being back without him felt wrong. gale felt like a ghost trailing behind the men who were guiding him back around the base, like he was haunting them, not really fully there. one half of his soul was still lost somewhere in eastern germany.
and when bucky shows up, rougishly unannounced, the guilt only multiplies around the relief and joy and disbelief at seeing him back here, liberated so such sooner than he’d anticipated.
bucky himself is overjoyed. he can’t believe he’s here; that he and buck both got out of this thing alive and, okay, not as ‘together’ as they had hoped but they were now and that’s what mattered.
meanwhile gale feels sick to his stomach every time he looks him in the eyes, his body tense under the rigid smiles he puts on, partly for the other boys around them, but mostly for john himself.
how could john ever forgive him for just leaving like that?
(( i need to make a one shot out of this omg ))

You know what I love? When characters are almost unconscious, but not quite.
Slumped over, a complete ragdoll in the others’ hands, but alert enough to groan softly at different sensations, eyes hooded and glazed, just wide enough to gather a blurry image of their surroundings. Though they’re dizzy and their limbs feel like lead, they gain comfort in the others’ touch, unconsciously leaning into them, eyelids fluttering in hazy relief at the soothing, concerned gestures.

also, hey, a quick cheat for providing good description: describe what something is, not what it isn’t. if you say something “isn’t quite skeletal,” the reader might not be sure what to imagine (certainly not without a lot of context clues), so instead say “it’s clearly old, but flesh still clings to its bones.” not only will the reader be better able to see what you see, your story will be richer for it.

for the love of god take the notion of a character suffering a slow, painful death as retribution away from authors
