I'm late and that's because I've just finished my final and finally had enough time to do something!
so here are 3 pieces of works of my calligraphy practice (if the mess are qualified to be called calligraphy) and the contents are excerpts from your fics!
the first is the letter Courfeyrac wrote to Marius in Dreams Mingled with Happiness, but only a little part of the original letter due to the limited space and my free time :( but hopefully one day I'll manage to do the complete version if you permit it!
2nd the sweet and cute fluff in Conference
and 3rd a contrastion about Grantaire's story with the reality (that hurts😭）
hope you can forgive me for writing them without permission and like it! though I'm not very good at the calligraphy and especially bad at photography, which leads to the most heartbreaking part that after finishing the writing, I found it impossible to present what it really looks like with my poor phone camera, and please believe that it looks thousands of times better than the photo😭 but I just could let you see it in person through the Internet🥺
Actually I've just met you for not a long time, but how the world can be changed with just one burst of light but you and your fics have brought a lot for me! it's not something crashing through but feels like some tiny but mighty comfort and company that always lies there, whenever I want. The feeling of having you in the fandom or at least in my world, is somewhat similar to the feeling of thinking of the warm bed in freezing winters——even thinking about it make everything around me suddenly bearable and even pleasant. Your fics have literally lit up many of my days and weeks and months and more than words can convey.
and a little thing in addition, I've been planning on do some translation to Chinese on some of your fics and have actually started to try a little (sorry without permission again!!) but haven't posted any yet because translation, to some extent, is just like the photography, in which I can never get the point I want and make myself satisfied :( and a bad translation may be irresponsible cuz it may even cause misunderstanding for the original author so I'll just keep practice and maybe one day when I'm at last satisfied I will post it (of course with the proper credit and link!) the coincidence is that I'm also preparing for the test of certificate on English-Chinese translation! so I wonder if it'll be ok for me to do the translation after I'm qualified enough:P

I made a lmk oc
#they’re supposed to be some sort of experiment to see if people could recreate Sun Wukongs stone egg. the goal was to make a more controlled#and tame version using carved wood and cultivation. but eventually they got worried about it becoming too powerful and scrapped it#eventually they come to life and live in the abandoned temple they were built in#their bottom half is made of wood because when they came to life their creator/s left them unfinished when they scrapped the project#they had to carve the rest of their body out of hunger and frustration because they couldn’t eat or move much by crawling on their top half#this is also why they spite their creators and hate irresponsible creation. because of abandonment issues and feeling like they have no#purpose or direction in life#their power is also very limited to due being man made since they were originally a wood carving#meo gave me the idea but one reason would be because they’re half finished. the sculpture was still half stump so it was completely untouche#that half can channel power in its raw form but the other half cannot once it’s been carved by man#so technically they could have the same level or potential for power as the stone but that was dampened#the other thing is how they were created to be a duplicate or recreation of a stone monkey and a celestial looked at that and was like#‘we’re not doing that again’ LMAO#i think the case of them carving their own legs doesn’t take away their power though. that balance was made#before they came to life so carving the legs or not can’t affect it anymore. like making a cake and slicing it#their energy levels are also naturally low because of that so their movements are sluggish and they aren’t very active overall#constantly lying in the sun to charge their batteries and get some stuff done. just like me fr#I actually don’t know what I’m gonna do with this character besides Put Them In Situations with other ppls ocs.. so if you have#a lmk oc you have been warned /lh /j#I wanna make some backstory art for them though.. maybe even the animatic treatment if I can get through dear wormwood which is 25#SECONDS OUT OF 3 MIN BTW#doodles#Lego Monkie kid#lmk#Monkie kid#lmk oc#monkie kid oc#myart#my art#xin ya

Ouroboros: The first year in development (+small update!)
On this day, a year from now, I sat in the stark light from my monitors, eyes bloodshot and hands trembling; and I clicked the post button. I then choked my pc to death and ran away screaming, scrambling into the corner of the couch on all fours, hissing at every shadow (only one of those statements is a lie).
It was 4 am and I had been scrambling to get the last details of the demo correct, mumbling to myself and reasoning with my dog. I was so happy to be writing again, after years of piddling around with lackluster projects. I never thought Ouro would be welcomed as it was, and to be honest, the fact that it was scared the living shit out of me. After the hype settled, and I sat watching the continuous stream of support that poured my way, I kind of crumbled. There was a long and dirty road of clawing myself out of self-doubt, impostor syndrome and perfectionism. Some part of me knew it was coming, since its very on par with how I am shaped as a person (sopping wet pathetic meow meow), but after climbing many hills on my ongoing healing journey, I felt like I was prepared for it.
Writing Ouroboros went from fun little sidequest to get my mind off becoming a sturdy part of society again (exhausting), to another workload, to form of therapy, then torture and back again. My writing journal is amusing to scroll through:
Things went from bad to...
worse,
until the storm finally weakened. Every entry in my journal from this point gets progressively more hopeful, more resilient against the bad days.
:> This was around the point where I decided I wouldn't give up, come hell or high water. The progress was slow, like bleeding stone and pulling teeth, but it was moving. By the turn of the new year I was battered and bruised, but still hopeful.
And I know that this, these emotions that I went through, were way out of proportion for a hobby writing project, but with every ask that came through telling me about your MC's budding journey in Ouro, every gushing emotion you've shared with me, every gleaming piece of art, every kind word; every correcting one, too, this grew to something really precious to me. I wouldn't give it up for anything, even if it feels like I'm barely keeping my head above surface in this terrifying, stormy sea of a life.
I can't wait to see what comes next, even if the road is bumpy. All I know is that I will keep chipping away at this story with everything I got. And all I can say is that I'm so grateful for your continued support and patience, I barely have words for it. You are incredible. Thank you.
Now, enough of my bleeding heart. Get over here! I have some treats to share.
Mainly, it is the little update to the demo that I'd like to share; Idren/Ida's 101. I did my best to finish it today, but I only had an hour or two of effective worktime (excuse: I was outside for most of the day in bloody blizzard and it knocked me on my ass more than I'd like to admit). It is cut off at the different scene transitions, which I will add after I have some time to work on them this saturday. Id's 101 was the most complex out of all of them, so there is still plenty to explore and different outcomes to see. I hope you have fun!
To see it, go through Lena's scene and don't scream -> accept alliance -> visit archives. That will take you to the new content. CW for very emotionally charged arguments and... almost dying.

It is sunny on the day of $!{leith}'s funeral. It is not supposed to be sunny. It is supposed to rain on bad days, and the wind is supposed to whip dry leaves into dancing columns. Thunder is supposed to rumble in the distance, and then right near so that the even the windows rattle with trepidation. But it doesn't. The sun lounges calmly on the perfectly still water of Riven's lake, glittering with winking light as the serene waves lick the edge of the populated harbor. There is chatter, too, not the moaning whispers of grieving people. Not a sob to be heard, but the flutter of a laugh and a joyous embrace of lovers right in front of you.
"People have forgotten, the sacrifice we made." Lyselin stands in full knight-hunter armor beside you, the silver gleaming in the stark light.

Super Show! actually had an episode where Bowser was a vampire#which led me to create this specific post#I do want to point out that the only major twist in this vampire idea is that Bowser wants Luigi to be his vampire bride instead of Peach#although I would maybe change the torture scene to where Mario isn't getting waterboarded#I don't know I'll leave that up to you guys#I'm just really interested in the idea of a Bowuigi Vampire AU#I don't know if this has been done before but I'm making my contribution to the idea anyway

im so considerate.... (<- guy not ranting about a thing it hates before its friend is done with the media)
#can officially say i finished the arkhamverse. didnt watch anything about that suicide squad one but i read all comics#a d watched the complete story & side mission gameplay for origins asylum city and midway through my refresher for knight#the biggest takeaway i have is wow these people are weird about convicts and addicts and love their toxic masculinity#but the gameplay and nostalgia impacts peoples opinions on it. maybe an enjoyable experience but for the story or universe itself#its a complete failure in every regard i can think of—only having glimpses moments of quality that makes the rest of it#be frustrating because the potential can be there. theres interesting premises occasionally but the execution and payoff doesn't make it#even worthwhile to get to those premises because of what you must wade through to reach them#<- thats me being my nicest and most spoiler freeabout it btw.#my other big takeaway is that tim is canonically older than jason and i think a grown ass man saying fuck that kid is really funny#[SPOILERS LOOK AWAY CJ]#<- tim currently works as a highschool science teacher while jason was shown to be adopted and made robin at 15#where he was then promptly captured and kidnapped by joker. he escaped half? a year later during asylum and AK takes place 2 years afterward#i think. the entire timeline for this shitty universe is awful and confusing. dick was robin for like 2 years its ridiculous.#and i think primarily so they can go noooo see bruce is a hot late 30 year old instead because you become dust at any older!!#but. back to the age thing. hes about 17 maybe early 18 during AK but because tim is a private school teacher he needs a bachelor's degree#and most people get it at 22/23ish and then theres the actual teacher application and being hired (or not because hes a nepo baby)#so hes early mid twenties or so. compared to a (presumably dead) teenager who he called a loser more or less.

Astral projects myself into a future that's better so I can have any motivation whatsoever to improve my life rather than continuing to girlrot in a sexy fashion ♥️
#the problem is i know exactly what to do to get somewhere objectively better and i am certain i'm capable of it#but. and i cannot emphasize this enough. every past success at living a normal life has FELT excruciating#i can do it it will simply feel like walking over hot coals the whole time#sometimes that's better than descending into the depression pit sometimes not. depends. how much debt am i in at the time#living in a society is a type of torture and i'm really going to be doing it the rest of my life. that has sunk in this year#but i have to be alive so i can do my hobbies and activities and read some books and talk about them with my friends and have a beverage#so i just have to live in a society#so that means i have to accomplish goals. but logic will only get you so far in that respect#i did finish the degree and etc but like. wouldn't it be sexier to lie here and maybe take a long bath#until someone tells me i have to stop or face legal consequences ♥️#like don't get me wrong i'm trying to be concerned it's just not happening

What if I made this as off-putting as possible instead of romantic.
#I mean I'm very heavily leaning into the humor for this one but what if I made it funny AND creepy#then I wouldn't have to pretend I know how to write a functional relationship#(well. as functional as these two characters can be anyway.)#the problem is that most of my ideas are about analyzing relationships between characters#and some of them are fucked up with the romantic element unrealized (which is a lot easier to write because of. you know. personal history)#and some of them are about how mental illness interacts with one's relationships#but the rest of them are straight up 'how would these characters get together and build a relationship that works for them'#and I WANT to write those things because they're important to me and because I want there to be more fic for my unpopular ships#but the idea of ME trying to write something where the entire focus is people getting into a happy and relatively straightforward#relationship feels...laughable.#c2g is different because it's not like...straightforward at all? there are a lot of elements at play there.#and the characters are ALREADY together. and most of the fic really is just unpacking their psyches.#I wouldn't call it a romance fic?#but Deranged Oneshot is...probably somehow actually closer to that idea.#but like. what if it wasn't.#ugh maybe I DO post this one anonymously like I hate considering that but that might be the#only way it actually gets finished#(though. of course. a hot take i like... have about BG3's progression is the same problem i ahve w/ a lot of RPG games where like... in order for your character's stats to scale properly, you basically must pick only ASIs. basically, all horizontal progression is blocked off if you want to keep your characters dealing and taking damage on par with the enemies. i dont think this is as noticeable on the standard difficulty (and basically this problem doesnt exist in the lowest difficulty, which, as it should) but on tactian and honour it is NOTICEABLE noticeable
#note that i dont have a like. FixTM for this#just that a lot of Feats are semi-useless because taking them - tho they would be fun - could break your build#the only like..... Thought i've had as to how it could be rectified would be a Feat upon finishing Acts 1 and 2#( and maybe - MAYBE - after killing Orin/Gortash - which ever comes first )#with the caveat that the feat cannot be an ASI#so the feats that include an ability point are fine. just not the Ability Score Improvement#that might encourage play w/ the feats and being freer w/ builds#but also that could easily break the games' difficulty! i dunno - it may even be something they tested!#it IS dm guide thing that feats can be given out by the DM for achieving a big goal#and though i've done a lot of thought about game design and read a lot about it. it's certainly not my field of expertise#baldur's gate#bg3#GRANTED#GRANTED: the fact that long resting has little consequence DOES mean your stats can be lower and you Will Be Fine
