Please wear a KN-95 mask, and wear layered nondescript clothing and cover your face/hair! I have seen many people use keffiyehs for this. People will be recording and taking pictures!

Dress for cold weather but know marching warms you up quickly, so dress in layers you can remove and carry without uncovering your face and hair. Ideally you should bring a backpack to carry food, water, first aid, ID, etc. It may be good to bring multiple or removable parts of your outfit if you plan on walking from your residence or car.

Please blur out peoples faces before posting to social media!

Bigotry & hatred will not be tolerated.

Even if you are unable to attend, please reblog and repost the graphics to other social medias to get the word out. You may have a follower or friend who can attend.

If you live outside of DC or Central London: talk to your local organizations! They may be able to organize transportation to this event. For buses to DC, you will likely have to pay a fee, but it is probably going to be cheaper and safer than driving to DC and parking in their $40-$50/hour parking garages. Also look into Amtrak, Greyhound buses, trains, or other means of transportation.

So, today I was on Reddit reading about KOSA, and I found this on r/AO3

Here's the Invest in Child Safety Act, it only has five cosponsors compared to KOSA's sixty-three.. wonder why..

Anyways, I was wondering, could steering reps away from KOSA while leading them towards other and SAFER bills help? :P

If these bills really ARE safer, wouldn't it give us a better chance of KOSA not being passed if we gave our Senators and Reps examples of alternative bills they could support?

Like, instead of just saying "DON'T DO THIS!!!" We could say "DON'T DO THIS, but THIS is a better alternative that will keep everyone safe AND actually be helpful."

I have a feeling most of the Democrats supporting this bill have fallen for the "We're protecting the children!!" farse. So, let's not just tell them the problem, but offer a solution! An alternative that will ACTUALLY protect children.

I posted this as it's own thing, but I wanted to add it to this update thread so people are more likely to see it.

Yes, today is Purim! The festival celebrating the survival of the Jewish people in Persia.

The entire story is recorded in the Book of Esther (Megillat Esther), wherein the Jews Esther and Mordechai defeated the evil Haman’s plot to kill all of the Jews in Persia.

In planning his plot, the Persian official Haman threw Purim (”Lots”) to choose the date, it came up as 13 Adar. However, Esther and Mordechai managed to convince the King not to allow Haman’s plan, and allowed the Jews to fight against their enemies. On the 13th of Adar that year the Jews defeated their enemies, and we celebrate on the next day.

In the walled city of Shushan, the fighting continues on the 14th, and they celebrated on 15 Adar. Because of this, cities which were walled at the time celebrate Purim a day later (this is called Shushan Purim). Observances of Purim include listening to a reading of the Megillah, baking triangle cookies called Hamentaschen (shaped after the hat Haman wore), partying, giving gifts to friends, giving tzedakah (charity), wearing costumes, and joyful partying.

Shushan Purim, Purim in walled cities, begins at sunset tonight.
