Happy Makers Monday!
With the 2023 faire season officially coming to a close, I'm really excited to focus more on the workshop and all the new products coming to the store next year.
Here are a few photos of a couple items that went out to their new adventurers recently. :) I always love the custom requests, and getting to spend my time painting stars. Thank you all. ❤️

Somehow my August has filled up with orders and events! I was supposed to have a break this month but I guess I’ll try for September haha. Have you ever felt like things come in waves? I was looking at my calendar last month thinking I had some free time and then all of a sudden I had orders and wholesale projects coming in all at once. I’m so grateful for the work but at the same time I’m so curious about why things happen in these waves. Like the world is running on the same schedule or something 🧐. In addition to being more busy than I’d expected, I’m throwing a surprise show into the mix! I’ll be joining Mt. Royal Soap co. for their August Night Market happening Friday August 18th. I love this event so much because it really brings the community out and it’s such a fun vibe. (Plus Ekiben 😍) mark your calendars if you want something from me because it’s my last show until the Fall!

Childhood Promises (Part One)
You were laughing with your two favorite people: Fred and George, the Weasley Twins. Making random jokes, reminiscing their own fifth years. "How's the shop coming?" You ask, crossing your legs. George shrugs, running a hand through his still long, ginger hair. "It's been going great. Mum's still very offended by it, for whatever reason." Fred rolls his eyes, leaning closer to you. "Y\N, could you promise us something?"
You tilt your head a bit and then nod. George, looking positively alarmed and concerned gazes at Fred, looking for some type of conformation that it is a good promise, since he is being dragged into it. Fred shoos George away and looks you dead in your eyes. "Promise us you won't kiss any guy while you are at school." George looks taken aback and then just decides to go with it, matching Fred's desperation with his own pleading gaze.
You chuckle awkwardly, immediately placing your hand on your neck nervously. "Guys, you know I-" You were cut off by Fred leaning forward and capturing your sweet lips in an even sweeter and more passionately begging kiss. Your eyes widen at first as he wraps his arms securely around your waist, forcing you closer. George watches in awe at Fred's boldness and then clears his throat noisily, Fred's lips leave yours and so does his arms. You recoup momentarily as George is easing you into a meaningful and sweet kiss, completely different from the fiery, passionate kiss Fred gifted you with.
"I-I promise." You utter softly, earning yourself two relieved smiles from the twins. "C'mon, let's get you down to Mum for dinner." George says, standing up and extending his hand to help you up. "Yeah. Mum will go ballistic if she hears we did this.." A grin widens on Fred's face, although he seems serious to an extent. "I love you guys." You smirk, following the two tall red-heads out of their shared bedroom door.
A\N: This is something I thought of randomly scrolling through my fluffy tags for the Weasleys, and here it is, in parts, with part two coming Monday soo be ready for that.

The Malombo Jazz Makers - Down Lucky's Way
Barely a week has gone by where I haven't spun this one at least twice since grabbing it this past spring. Recorded in 1969 but unreleased/unknown until now, Down Lucky's Way is a little hard to describe — minimal modal folk jazz? Maybe! Guitarist Lucky Ranku called it "healing music," and that might be the most right on. The gentle but propulsive groove, the free floating melodies, the comradely interplay ... it just makes you feel better. Highly highly highly recommended.

I sometimes treat myself to something fun for my birthday. This year my car got some long overdue maintenance work, and I will be replacing tires next week. So this year, this yarn is my Fun gift to myself. (This, and a black t-shirt with the “Now I am become Death…” quote done in pink Barbie font.)
This is hand dyed 100% Merino wool yarn from a small batch dyer, and the minute I saw this colorway—inspired by, of course, BARBIE, and called “Ken-ergy”—it made me laugh.
I have two skeins, my plan is for another Framework Bralette, and it will be the brightest thing in my whole wardrobe. Eh-ver. This will be perfect to wear the time of year when it’s cold and sundown is at 4pm and I’m wearing all black everything…except this.
Just thought I’d share some bright on this cloudy rainy Monday here in the Desert.
That quote, BTW, is the inside of the label, and it’s true. As I’m knitting, each stitch ends up next to another color and they absolutely sing.

Y'all ever miss food? And eating? We miss it. Not sure how long thats gonna last, our feeling-hunger cut-off happens very early on. Going back to eating normally when we can afford food again is gonna be rough
#we were doing so well and then the surgery happened and then we were starting to recover from that#and then during a rough patch we got car sick#and while trying to recover our ground from that we stopped being able to afford food and our backup plan maker got sick#guess whos not eating more than one small meal a day (if even that) until monday next week#maybe not even then. unreliable maybes were given. if not monday then it might be wednesday#or friday#we havent eaten properly since about three days ago#living off long-life milk and any scraps we can get our stomach to accept is just-#honesty straight up starving is easier you dont have to think about shit when youre starving#and again our hunger cues die quickly so we dont feel like we're starving we just feel like shit more and more as the days go by
