And, voila! She enrolled in free online counseling classes. 3️⃣ She got a job working weekends, with a group that supported social workers to rehabilitate emotionally vulnerable people. A year later, her hard work, and achievements paid off. She was given a scholarship to participate in a course that offered a job traveling around Europe. She now tells everyone how she 🅰 thought her way out of nothing, simply by realizing that where she was cleaning was a part of her #lifepuzzle 🅱 gave thanks for everything she ever had (as much as she could remember) 🅲 took the opportunity to grow What about you? I have had such a crazy week thus far but today I am Giving myself some breathing room & relaxing a little (after the fact) from that long and treacherous drive to Nashville! My body is still sore! Need a massage bad! Otherwise I am good & blessed to see another day. What are your plans today?? Good Morning!!! Good Afternoon!!! Good Day!!!! I'm here just having some coffee & listening to the sounds of nature out on my back porch while I do my writing therapy...;) It's quite comforting and relaxing. Flowing in out of prayer throughout my day is not uncommon. As one must pray daily. It's a great practice to get used to! I myself choose to pray in the early morning when I 1st awaken... 2pm in the afternoon is usually a good time daily for me as well... then of course later at night before bedtime around 11pm is our final time for prayer before we close our eyes and end our day. We give thanks again for a beautiful day and pray that we are blessed and gifted to see tomorrow!!! Tomorrow is a gift we are not promised, we can only hope and believe that there will be a tomorrow. But the reality is that many by statistics will not see tomorrow while the rest of us (God willing) get to explore a new day. I shall remain respectful and cautious of what I say. But I shall only be blessed to see tomorrow and will give my all today to make that happen. I have pushed my limits & gone beyond my mental capacity for what I am willing to put myself through. & while driving a truck was unforgettable I don't think it's something I would care to do again. Though the money was definitely worth the near cost of my sanity. Only I know what really happened in the cab of that truck with no radio for 12 hours. I can tell you this much I have definitely given myself a good talking to and I was abrupt when I needed to be so don't worry! I kept it 100% Me, Myself & I had quite the conversation during this long trip. But one thing was for certain my "eye" always remained on the road before me at all times. I don't recall my left eye coming online to help, but thats ok! Rain rain go away, come again another day... . . Whilst staring out the window at the gloom and wet, my thoughts looping in a somewhat negative spiral, feeling unmotivated, sleepy and sure that I do not belong in this climate... . I was suddenly reminded of an @drwaynedyer quote I love... “Change the way you look at things and the things you look at change”. Right. Fine. Okay. So I started thinking about what’s awesome about the rain... - being cozy - My fire place - Getting things done inside - Reading - Being creative - Feeding the forest!! FEEDING THE FOREST! Yes the forest!!! The trees! They are so happy! You know me, I love my trees. . . I decided I needed to get out of my head and into the forest to shift my feelings about all this wet and darkness. . . What transpired was a 3 hour run/dance/frolick through the gorgeous, rain soaked, magical forests, where I allowed myself to fully surrender and get soaked to the bone. I was a ninja at first, careful to maneuver and leap across huge puddles and creeks so my shoes wouldn’t get wet. Then I finally said fuck it and became 5 years old. Stomping through puddles, squealing and singing! (Bonus to running in the forest in the rain is most don’t so you have it all to yourself!!) The smell of wet cedar, symphony of rain drops falling from the tree tops, rivers running through my sneakers, rain washing over my face... Glorious! . . I remember earlier this week while walking with my sister in the rain a man said to us... “Some people walk in the rain, others get wet”. What does this mean to you? Perspective is such a powerful tool. I’m always thankful when I have the awareness to chose it. Is there an area in your life that could use a change of scenery? A couple months back you might have seen an announcement that our Turtleback Trailer was up for sale. Well, we're glad to re-announce that it is NOT FOR SALE any longer. I know this came as a shock to some and while we've been a bit cryptic with the reasons; we promise we will explain why all the drama in Season 2 of our adventures. (Spoiler alert; it wasn't the trailer's fault!) We're so relieved that it's no longer necessary to part ways with our "home" which we literally put blood, sweat, and tears into during the design update and build before jumping headfirst into this full-time YouTube gig. I made up a small pallet with half pans of these: . . 3 warm primaries: Scarlet A106, Mid Yellow A102, and Ultramarine Blue A110 . . 3 cool primaries: Vermilion A145, Lemon A102, and Prussian Blue A116) . . Plus: Noir A171, Titanium White A101, Burnt Umber A108, and Orange A124. . . I̶'̶m̶ ̶n̶o̶t̶ ̶v̶e̶r̶y̶ ̶g̶o̶o̶d̶ ̶a̶t̶ I suck at mixing colors, so this is good practice. Daily Meditation -- January 9th

"Life gives us so much time to collect bizarre thoughts and feelings." -- Claire Weekes

As we go through life, we run into all kinds of negative messages: teasing on the school bus, insulting nicknames, and other put-downs.

Pretty soon we may discover that some of these messages stick in our minds, repeating themselves over and over like broken records. These messages can make us feel bad about ourselves. But when we hear one of these tapes playing inside us, we have the power to push the STOP button. Then we can record a new message. We can even say it out loud, so that our voice settles emphatically into our thoughts.

We can't make others stop saying these things, but we can stop listening to them. They only have power over us when we give it to them. We have the ability and freedom to let negative thoughts float by us, like water going downstream.

Is it really a painting without a helper? Shadow is ready for class today! Did you miss this week's class and wanted to join? Due to popular demand, I will be having a SECOND LIVE SESSION of my Zest for Life Class! Do your paintings ever look flat and lack depth? This class focuses on how to make a painting look three dimensional and realistic. We will be painting a half sheet (21x15) painting of yellow lemons in a reflective silver metal colander on a striped tablecloth. You will learn how to leave paper-white realistic highlights and how to make the lemons and colander appear three dimensional on a flat piece of paper. We will go over how to put shadows on lemons while still keeping the colors vibrant. Class will run Tuesday March 22, Wednesday March 23 and Friday March 25 with a break on Thursday. I will be available Thursday for any questions or issues while you are working on your own. Live online class will run from 12:00-3:30 EST all three days..
