Rainfall

Genre: Fluff, Slight Angst Warnings: None a/n: hello, hello! this is my first time making an one shot fanfic so please be respectful of this short story that I made a couple of days ago!

Y/n grumbled and moved a bit in her bed. She put her right arm over her forehead and opened her eyes as she looked up to the ceiling and sighed. It was another rainy morning. She sighed and sat up, her bed-hair a mess. Y/n looked at her clock that was beside her on her bedside table.

7:04 am, the clock said. It was still early in the morning, she sighed again before getting out of bed, walked out of her room and went to the kitchen to grab a cup of water. Y/n tilted her head back a bit as she drank the water in one go before placing it down on the counter by the kitchen sink.

She turned to look behind her, seeing a blanket disheveled. That was when she heard her bathroom door open. Y/n looked up and saw her 30 year old friend, MafuMafu. He looked up, “Oh, you’re awake?” He spoke up first. Y/n hummed and walked to the sofa where he was sleeping on, MafuMafu sat next to her. “Did you sleep well?” MafuMafu asked, Y/n nodded in response.

Mafu just stared at her, “Still tired?” He asked, Y/n sighed as she put her knees up and put her chin on top of them and hummed in response, “Yeah…” She finally properly responded. Mafu smiled to hear her voice, “Wanna go out? Only if you want to, or if the rain stops,” Mafu planned, Y/n grumbled and shook her head. “I wanna stay home,” Y/n said, Mafu pursed his lips.

“But you’ve been home for 4 weeks already, don’t you want to get some fresh air?” He asked, Y/n shook her head, “I could just get out on the balcony,” Y/n responded casually as if Mafu hadn't been affected by her sudden disappearance 4 weeks ago, well...it’s not like she knew anyways.

Mafu suddenly got up and walked away, which caught Y/n’s attention. “Eh? Where are you going?” She asked, but Mafu just ignored her, “Oi! Mafu!” She yelled out his name before getting up from the sofa and walked towards Mafu.

“Mafu!” Y/n called his name again as she found him in her room, he turned to look at her, Y/n got taken aback when she saw his face. “MafuMafu…” She whispered his name.

Mafu had an angry but sad look on his face, his eyebrows were furrowed together, his lips turned upside into a slight frown, his eyes full of sadness. “When are you gonna stop?” He questioned her, Y/n got startled, “What do you mean?” She asked. “When are you gonna stop acting like this?” He questioned, “Why are you even acting like this!?” He yelled.

Y/n just stared at him in confusion and shock, “Act like what?-”

“LIKE THIS!” He shouted, having enough with her obliviousness as he pointed between the two of them, “When have we become so distant from each other? When have you been feeling like this?” Mafu questioned, “The distant Y/n isn’t the one I know. The cheerful and happy Y/n is the one I know, the one I miss.” Mafu breathed out a shaky sigh, “Since when have we even fought?”

Y/n stayed quiet, she stood there frozen. This was...sudden. She wasn’t expecting to wake up in the morning like this, “I…” She spoke up, not knowing what to even say at Mafu’s sudden burst.

Mafu looked up at her through his bangs with tears in his eyes, Y/n’s chest clenched. “Mafu…” She whispered. Y/n’s fastest footsteps went towards Mafu in just a second, and just before Mafu knew it, Y/n was hugging him tightly.

Mafu’s eyes were widened in shock, his arms didn’t know what to do, his fingers and hands were shaking, his body was frozen, he absolutely didn’t even know what to do until he heard a small, “...I’m sorry.”

He gasped as tears streamed down his face and hugged back. Never in a million years, he thought that they would even hug again. Mafu hugged Y/n more tightly than usual, he hugged her as if someone was gonna take her away from him, she was his everything, his world, his happiness, his home, his...his rain to his fall. Rainfall.

They stood there in silence in Y/n’s room, nothing was heard excluding the quiet sounds of Mafu’s sobbing and the rainfall patting on Y/n’s window. Y/n hugged him, thinking all over the things that she has done in the past 4 weeks. She finally realized that she has been hurting not only herself, but her best friend, someone she cherished, someone she loved, someone she thought was more than a brother, than a friend.

That was when Y/n whispered something that made Mafu stop crying, but smile and respond with a small smile, “I love you too.”

That was when they both realized that even if they’re apart, even if there is a misunderstanding between them, they could come to each other no matter what and talk it out to each other to clear things up between the two of them.

Even though they have a 2 year relationship, nothing was gonna stop them from loving each other. Even if some people out there will want to break them apart, nothing's gonna stop them from doing so, to run away and live a new life together to live together in a new world.

They didn’t love each other from without their hearts, but from within their hearts. And it was with the rainfall’s help that they finally came back together, to hug and dive into each other’s warmth again just like the other times when they were always together. But it’s different now, they’re together, officially, side by side
