You sat across from him, nothing but smiles on both faces as you stared into each other's souls intensely. His sweet brown eyes wandered your face, fresh out of the makeup chair and looking stunning as always. You let out a small giggle, you looked down to shuffle your cards of questions. Today was going to be interesting.

The two of you had starred in a romantic comedy that had come out last week and the reviews it was getting had been great so far. The real buzz was the chemistry you two had, tabloids often twisting your innocent hangouts as something more. Pedro wasn't a difficult person to get along with, the vibes had been there since day one. You two clicked almost instantly, it was almost impossible to shoot one scene without one of you breaking character.

You had to admit though, the feelings you had were no longer just platonic. The movie felt all too real and whenever the director yelled cut you were sucked back into reality. Oh, that man could kiss. Lips soft and sweet, gentle and careful with yours as if he was scared to hurt you. There'd been a few times it felt a bit too real, but you didn't mind.

He made your heart race, even now, as he watched you across the table.

Today was another promo video for your movie. You two were doing Truth or Drink for Cut's YouTube channel. They wouldn't normally have well-known actors on their channel but they loved how you two interacted and insisted on a piece of the action. You had seen many of these videos and a lot of them were enjoyable so you were excited to do this, and also happy to get a few shots in. Though you two had some shots the night before.

"Alright, you guys ready?"

The both of you nodded and looked back at each other. The cameraman gave you two the thumbs up, and it didn't take long for you to let out a nervous giggle and quickly apologize for it. Pedro shook his head. "Hi, I'm Pedro Pascal, and this is my unprofessional co-star YN YLN." You sucked your teeth reaching over the small table to hit him in the arm with your cards.

"You can actually start with a shot if you guys would like." One of the producers informed. "Oh really?" Pedro asked, he looked back at you to see that you had already popped the top off of the bottle with tequila and poured it into his shot glass before pouring it into your own. There was juice in a slightly bigger glass as a chaser but you often didn't need it. "Salud." He winked. "Salud." You smiled before clinking and drinking. You sucked in your cheeks and squeezed your eyes as the drink burned your esophagus.

Pedro tapped his cards against the table catching your attention. "You want to go first?"

"Nah, you go." You leaned back in your chair interested to hear what he had written down. He looked down at his cards, a bit nervous about how this was going to go, he would try not to take too many shots for fear he might confess his true feelings on camera. "When they told you would be working with me, were you excited?"

You playfully rolled your eyes, a simple question but that shit-eating grin he had on his face meant it was a cocky question. "I already told you how I felt."

"Yeah but now you have to tell them."

"Yes, Pedro I was excited when they told me that I'd be working with you." You admitted on camera begrudgingly. Pedro's eyes disappeared as he smiled at the camera, your heart fluttered as his contagious emotion spread over to you. You quickly looked down at your cards. "Hm, who's a better acting partner? Me or Oscar Isaac?"

He shook his head repeating the word 'nope.' He was not about to get in trouble with his two friends, he reached over for the bottle and took a shot while you sat there dumbfounded with your mouth agape in amusement and utter shock. "You know what," You looked into the lens. "He only took that shot because he didn't want to hurt your feelings, Oscar."

Pedro snorted before throwing his head back, he quietly hissed as the alcohol burned his throat. You bounced your leg up and down as your eyes focused on the slender of his neck, the way his Adam's apple bobbed when he swallowed. You groaned internally. "Alright," He started. "Do we have to do boring questions?"

"You can ask anything you want." They reassured. He slowly nodded.

The back and forth continued, and a few more rounds of liquor entered both your systems— the both of you giggly and probably annoying the rest of the crew but you no longer cared. "Do you watch the TikTok edits that people make about you? And does it boost your ego?"

He closed his eyes in defeat. "Yes, I do watch them." He cringed. "Some of them are a little... you know..." Pedro wiggled his brows alluding to the fact that some videos were a little too thirsty. "But I love them all anyway. So thanks, guys."

It was his turn to ask, he cleared his throat and shuffled in his seat. You knew him like the back of your hand, he was nervous but what could he be nervous about? You were just asking each other goofy questions, nothing too weird. Right?

"Okay, am I the best kisser out of all your co-stars?" He asked. You tilted your head, eyes passing between him and the shot glass, wondering if you should say the truth or leave it to the imagination. You nodded your head keeping your lips sealed. "Am I really?"

He sounded almost shocked.

"Yeah, you are."

"No bullshit?"

"No bullshit Pascal."

He made a proud face. "How about out of all your little boyfriends?" Your eyes popped out of your head, he was getting a little too hasty. He watched as you slowly reached over to the bottles, it was quiet as you poured your drink of choice. You looked up at the ceiling and sighed. "Yes." You still took your shot pursing your lips and shaking your head as it went down.

He was taken aback, sure he asked the question but he expected you to take a shot instead of actually answering it. You shrugged putting your cards flat on the table. "Same question for you."

At this point the crew let them do what they want, the more natural it looked the better. Pedro shrugged. "Yeah, I'd say you're at the top of the list."

"Oooh, there's a list."

"Of course." He smugged. He tugged on his bottom lip, eyes scanning the entirety of your face. "Have you ever had a crush on a co-star?"

You covered your face, you were really laying everything on the table, in front of these strangers and soon for hundreds of thousands of people to see. "What are you getting at Pascal?"

"I'm just playing the game." He said with that not-so-innocent face. "Yes, I have a crush on a co-star?"

"I said had."

You smirked. "I know."

Now it was his turn to blush, he giggled nervously. "I have a crush on one of my co-stars too."

You turned your head away, you were nothing but a bundle of nerves. Pedro gently kicked you under the table and you returned the favour. Neither of you had any more questions... that could be asked on camera at least. "Well if you'll excuse us..." Pedro proceeded to stand up, he hooked his arm inviting you to wrap yours around it and you did not hesitate.

"We have some things to discuss. Make sure you guys check out our new movie. Byeeeee."

The producers stood there stunned at what just happened while you two skipped off. You could only imagine the response and chaos that this would cause.

I feel like I‘m the only person being totally entertained by this whole McLaren thing. Like, I don’t even care if there’s going to be a huge change - livery or performance wise. I just love how dramatic they are. All teams should make the off season interesting by being delulu on main, and creating over the top promo videos for unprompted villain eras

I would LOVE if this was more common, I totally agree. I would love Merc to do another meme like last year, or just some video with Toto emerging from the darkness like darth Vader 😂 I would also quite like RB to do a lil reel just massively side eyeing everyone like “bitches y’all really think” in some capacity. I would love it if they all got in on the game.

But of course Zak is the only one willing to really do it 😂 he is not my fave right now because he started a war against AT for no reason, but I do admire him for this little chuckle to pass the time.

fandom and cosplay is a wild ride y'all!

doin a cut so if anyone doesn't wanna have their screen full of glorious ME*, they can just move along

*there's gonna be a lot of pics, and rambling & gushing

back when was still a teenager and went to my Very First Anime Con was like "oooh man, luv this one anime so much, Imma cosplay it!" Grandma made me a dress in a couple hours, the shirt under it is some polo bought for a fiver. Didn't wanna cut my hair, so its just... there (fun fact: my first proper paid-for-in-salon haircut was because of cosplay ... but thats another story frm diff outfit) the manga art made her dress more Blue than Green, nobody at me

skip ahead couple years - feeling that itch to Akane-chan again.... The OG dress had zero chances of fitting, we made me a new one! Instead of something shapeless, the overall dress follows manga cues (and is u know... fitted to me) The blouse is now real-life school uniform blouse (used to be able to buy these at Sears)

this is where the shenanigans begin! A friend was gonna cosplay Ranma-chan w/ me, so my old dress is what she's wearing, and P-chan is actually her plush that she would loan me (we did this arrangement a few times)

the greatest accidentally-in-character moment was us both trying to get to the con! It was pouring rain, we had one umbrella. Which totalz got wrecked by wind while we're still couple blocks away Everyone visualize now - an irritated Akane is tryin to run up the street with a very annoyed (and wet) Ran-chan chasing after her

skip ahead couple years more! Viz Media announces they will be reprinting the manga and releasing the entire series on blu-ray me: pardon??? brb fabric shopping!!

Brand new dress yet again, with a lil bolero because Winter Uniform

anyway, companies like having their series' characters in their booths during cons, guess what! They picked me to staff at theirs that one time!! (and run a lil promo game thing all weekend)

THE ABSOLUTE MADLADS LET ME BE IN THE PROMO VIDEO?!?! its one of the bluray bonus clips

are we done yet? Almost! Because do still wear this... a friend decided that it has been ages, so might as well - was gifted their P-chan plush for keeps! (Viz release back in 90s. he vintage!) a different friend donated fabric from her stash for a more accurate bandana for P-chan. She also cut & dyed my hair for the prev bluray ...event.... appearance... thing

so yes... fandom is wild! You decide to make a silly lil outfit that one time, and suddenly you've made fellow nerd friends! and cosplay? Cosplay is both spectator sport but also a team effort! While providing incredible lil adventures and gettin these sparkling ego-boosters (japanese guest was super excited to see an older series rep and wanted a photo with me?!?! Seeing their fav anime chara cosplay gave someone that final push to cosplay the series too?!? allowed, nay encouraged to CosplayChess violence!!) Ya gotta really chase a high that sweet

I suppose this is about my El Desperado fancam and even if not im still gonna use this to infodump about him! For anyone that saw him yesterday on Dynamite for the first time or whenever :D

El Desperado is one of NJPWs top Junior Heavyweight wrestlers and has held the belts for said weightclass several times now. He’s also one of their best talkers, deadass, i fell in love with this dude thanks to his amusing promos.

Some background info on him:

He trained and debuted in NJPWs dojo under his real name, Mikami Kyosuke, and spent a year on excursion, working for CMLL as a masked wrestler called Namajague. (and lost said mask in a match stipulation)

After that he debuted on NJPWs main roster as El Desperado (the first thing he did was gifting the jr champ a bouquet of black roses.) Despy started as a face but didnt have much success, ultimately turning heel and joining Suzuki Minorus group ‘Suzuki-gun’, learning their ruthless bastard ways.

Since then he's best known for his banger hatelove rivalry with Hiromu Takahashi (which is anything BUT straight, like seriously)

They have a 10+ year long history and some insane singles matches together which i can pretty much all recommend, my personal favourite is their BOSJ 27 Finals match (which i also made a video edit for here)

Other noteable things:

- he's in a great tag team with Yoshinobu Kanemaru, who he credits for a lot of his current success

- for the longest time he was our sad lil meow meow cause he would constantly joke about himself and allude to being a depressed drunk - after an injury he sustained in a match (and got a lot of unjustified backlash for) he came back more confident, calling his own shots, and its paying off! we love to see it

- he pretends that his CMLL persona Namajague is totally not him, that its a dude that lives in Mexico, and when CMLL/NJPWs crossover event comes around (which sadly didnt happen since the pandemic started) he performs as Namajague, its a lot of fun :)

- he’s a huge nerd. a dork even

best stylings of 2022, first half!!

this covers my favourite stylings from january 1st to june 30th; which i am bolding and italicizing bc some people got on my ass last year about leaving things out when in fact they just did not read the title! so!! this is only half of the year!!

here's a rundown of the categories i'm using:

best overall - self explanatory: this covers cbs that were holistically well designed across the mv, music show stages, and any other promotional material that was released during the cb period

runners' up - this category is for ones that got it about half right; either they had a really good music video but the stages didn't match up, or they had really good stages but the mv was lacking. i also put mvs here that didn't get any other promotional materials

standout element - this is for one off stages or outfits that stuck out to me as being really excellent, but there wasn't the same consistency across the rest of the cb

they deserved to go viral for this, the mv is amazing, the styling is so consistent despite the fact that they did like a full month of promotions, and overall it's just a fun time. they set the precedent for all the ~quirky~ gg cbs that showed up after this. it has so much character and established the weird world that their story exists in, so even though it was very early on in the year, it claims one of my top spots.

an extremely strong debut that has definitely set a new tone for the incoming next generation of bgs for sure. everything about this styling is chaotic over the top mess reminiscent of early 2010s kpop mixed with a retro 90s feel that is always a joy to watch. we love to see a return to cheesy and bright boy group form and i have my fingers crossed that we're gonna start seeing it catch on beyond the flops in 2023.

and i am including the japanese version in this, because it has the best outfit, which is kangmin's pink satin tracksuit that i may or may not think about every day. verivery doesn't usually catch my attention but i loved the prerelease single o from this album so it made me tune into the undercover cb when it dropped. this has been one of the few 'retro' stylings (there's been a myriad of 90s/00s revivals) that actually took some very recognizable silhouettes from the period and combined them with a contemporary flavour successfully and consistently. there's so much good texture and the sheer amount of satin they used is just (chef's kiss).

dawn once again proving that he and his team understand styling and fashion a lot better than most stylists working in the industy rn. he has such a strong sense of how to use silhouette and texture and i love how every new stage keeps you guess about what insane thing he's gonna wear next. this is also one of the few cbs where i actually think they should have just used the performance video for the final mv, bc its SO good. there's a few small things that i don't love which is why this doesn't rank higher, but there's still a lot that i do, so i kept from the runners' up category.

it was short but sweet, every look is a banger and i am going to include maniac and fever here as well, because it's also incredible. although all three of these songs have no aesthetic unity across them, this album very much was an exploration of genres that changmin is interested in and creating characters to embody each of those songs; we have the american gothic corrupt preacher with devil, the classic rock besieged horror heroine with maniac, and the capitalist victorian villain from an alw musical. i'd also recommend watching the jacket shooting behind to see more details from the looks in the concept photos, bc those are also excellent.

bring it on had so much fun character and a great series of prologue films as well, and i feel like it didn't get the love it deserved. there are so many things happening in this mv and it's very busy visually, so for them to be able to keep it coherent despite the sheer number of sets is impressive. rbw has great creative teams and it's no surprise that a oneus mv ended up in my top ten.

i might not have loved the title track as a song, but the mv is fucking gorgeous with some profoundly beautiful shots and like with changmin, the album as a whole is fantastic work and he produced a similar style goofy fun bside mv for hurdle that ended up being his go to concert song this year. both have really consistent design and colour palettes across the two of them, even though they're two totally different styles of song, which is a detail that i really admire. and the concept photos were gorgeous as well.

fantastic cb from them and excellent album in general, with some unusual silhouette choices. and they fully produced their album medley as well, which i don't think i've seen a group do to this same extent. it's beautiful, i highly recommend watching it. highlight has been quietly flying under the radar since their first post enlistment cb last year, and as the hag fan that i am i'm going to continue to remind everyone that they exist and are doing some of the best quality work in the industry atm.

honestly this should rank higher bc it was such a good cb and everything about it was so well done, but there was just too much that came out this year and i had to bump some things down just because of quantity and the fact that tumblr limits how many links and videos you can put in a post. so please know this was in a top spot in my heart.

invu - taeyeon

i wrote a post about invu already so i won't expound on it more, but it got knocked down to runners' up just bc i didn't love all the looks, but i did love a lot of the dedication and thought and engagement they put into the cb as a whole.

dududu - tan

also already wrote an entire post about this styling, i love it i'm obsessed one of THE best debuts of all time etc etc etc you've heard me yell about them many times already. although i have to issue one addition: for some reason i didn't include inkigayo 220403 where they gave jiseong a gorgeous blue crushed velvet suit.

again - nu'est

this is only here because they never did any performances of it. the only group that's ever done anything good with hybe money and what did they get for it??? the nu'est disbandment is easily one of the most gutwrenching things to happen to me and it's double compounded by their disbandment song being called 'again'. what a fucking cruel joke. anyways this mv is fucking gorgeous even if it makes me feel like i'm eating broken glass.

epitaph - tvxq

yes this is a japanese release but they haven't done a korean cb in like four years at this point so i'm taking what i can get. incredible set design, great costuming, who doesn't loves some hot tall vampires?

feel my rhythm - red velvet

the mv is 100% the standout element here, it's so unbelievably detailed and full of art references. however i didn't love all of the costuming so the stages didn't really stand out for me. ok that's a lie, i really liked the styling for music core 220326.

love - monsta x

could i have told you what the concept of this cb was? no. was it chaotic and very fun to watch anyways? absolutely. i present to you: versace. kihyun's obliques. whatever this lace suit nonsense is. idk what a 'vibe' outfit is but they should have done a stage in them.

skinz - onlyoneof

i've talked about the mv for skinz before, but there have been a couple of stages that are just kinda batshit crazy, like whatever the hell is happening here, and this 220114 music bank with the cropped puffer jackets and kb's tshirt bodysuit. i'm not even convinced what kb is wearing here is even considered a shirt. honestly i could have ranked this cb as a whole higher because there were just so many weird suits and i did like the mv, but i did have to limit this list at some point.

cupid - dkz

we love a cb of just guys being dudes! i actually do like the mv but it doesn't tie as well into the stages as i would like, so it doesn't get the full honours. but i would like offer you a selection of: pink, jonghyeong's xxxxl shirt, kyungyoon looking like a caricature of a kid in the early 90s, and kyungyoon's sexy lil cropped green bomber jacket

11:59 - apr project

these are all former trncg members (a third gen bg that disbanded due to an abuse and mismanagement lawsuit) that are redebuting in a new group and honestly? good for them. this mv was made with about $30 but it's one of my favourites of the year specifically because of the context and the moment at 2:41, which is SUCH a strong image and not one i was expecting. this was one of my soppy emo ballads of choice this year. also wolf baby revival when.

standout elements

memem story films - purple kiss // memem is probably the weakest of purple kiss' title tracks in terms of both sound and design, which was bound to happen eventually. however the story films are PHENOMENAL and i absolutely recommend watching them (plus bonus recurring character cya!): #1, #2.

Really ticklish though

Sometimes when they're practicing aim in the lobby while waiting for a car or bus to come pick em up n drive em to the battle area someone will usually sneak up behind them and just drag a finger down their back, they screech at this and its hilarious

Still think Loona's contracts were some of the fucking worst ive seen. Like the ratio of profit vs expense for the artist was evil. It basically put them in a perpetual cycle of debt. The company basically rigged it so that theyd get the highest margin of profit from the work off the girls all the while the comparatively small earnings the girls got would then go into paying off expenses for things like music videos, promo work, etc so they'd basically just end up in debt after debt to the company to fund said videos and such.

Exos deal is a lil more foggy in the details and the only translation I could find of their entire statement was on a website kpop fans hate so take this with a grain of salt but essentially it seems like SM was trying to keep the exact numbers of how much profit they made away from the members for as long as they could, especially access and rights to their financial records while keeping them working (they at most gave them "read only" rights which is bullshit, they should've been allowed documents) despite multiple members requesting these records and SM lying that theyd send them over. Worst of all, the company pulled on their sentimentality to get them to sign ALREADY very sneakily made contracts well beyond the allowed standard of excess time. Their original contracts seemed to be for 10 years but SM found a loophole by adding an annex of 3 years on all them for possible "foreign promotion and work" despite multiple of the members at the time being unconfirmed for work outside SKorea, which created a grand total of 13 years for each of them.

When expiration came up CBX say they tried to negotiate new changes in contract a total of EIGHT times and SM refused in what they believe was an attempt to wear them down. When they finally DID wear them down, they basically insinuated and threatened to them that if they didnt sign, that EXO would be broken and it would be their fault. Baekhyun in particular said that when he was negotiating they told him that if HE didnt sign, the rest of them weren't getting contract deposits. So essentially they made it seem like if they didn't sign the extension they would be "betraying" their brothers and all their hard work. I think frankly that's the cruelest fucking thing they've done to them outside not giving these guys their well earned pay in full.
