y'know what gets to me tho.

Eddie was always meant to die. it's obvious right, his entire arc (lazily) points to that. he's the character placed in the season specifically TO die (bc the ruffers don't have the balls to kill main characters so they come up with new secondary characters every fucking season just for this but that's another conversation)

but Then!!!! Eddie wins the public. unpredictably. unexpectedly. and it's not just like "oh ok two or three weirdos like him at Tumblr dot com", no, he wins over a good portion of ST watchers (he wins over Metallica ok)

and the only reason that happens is because Joseph did his job so spectacularly and gave Eddie a depth that he was never meant to have as a dead-background-character/plot-moving-device! literally all the little things that made us love Eddie are just Joe improvising all of the time

so OBVIOUSLY. no one could've predicted the way Eddie would win over the world, and OBVIOUSLY the dude was always meant to be killed off, and that can be either interpreted as good or bad. bad because oh well he did his job ¯⁠\⁠_⁠(⁠ツ⁠)⁠_⁠/⁠¯ he's dead dead

or. y'know. not like the duffers had planned for a character to die only to change the plot bc the actor was so charismatic before (it's a Joe problem apparently. yeah Steve was going to die. he didn't though, now did he?). and not like the duffers haven't used the "oh he's dead- Hell No He Ain't!" plot twist before (I'm looking at you Papa. 3 times already bitch. I don't trust you I think you might come back again)

I need more Luis lore! I appreciate how Capcom really added to his character, but I want more!

What a dream come true it would be if a Luis DLC story was added to the game. They can start from his days at Umbrella working on the Nemisis and other projects. Learn more about his working relationship with Saddler, the mines, the development of the Plaga, to then meeting Wesker and Ada. All leading up the events of RE4. Explore his feelings of regret, what made him want to change. It would be cool to also have the option to play as him when he runs off after being chained up with Leon and so on.

Etoiles: But yesterday when he [Forever] talked to me, he was so frightened, basically he was like, ‘But one day won’t you lose your shit and want to kill the Eggs with the Code, and everything?’ Though I was telling him, ‘But the fact is, I know the Code very well’—

Baghera: Oh, so you told him you joined—?

Etoiles: No, no, no, not at all. It’s just that he has these assumptions that I’m really allied to the Code because—

Baghera: I think it’s due to your Code tattoo, also, it gives off the impression you’re in the process of transforming into a Code, Etoiles, let’s not lie.

Etoiles: That’s it, that’s it. But, basically I told him that I’ve had it since—

Baghera: But you don’t give a shit? You’re taking it well?

Etoiles: Well, yeah, I don’t give a shit because I know he’ll never beat me. Basically I—

Baghera: But you don’t give a shit about the code literally popping up over your body?

Etoiles: Well, yeah, because it’s a part of me now. It’s normal.

Etoiles: You know you won’t have those cells anymore, you know, it’s possible.

Etoiles: It’s true but who can better know the dangers of the Code than someone who’s confronted it his whole life? Instead of someone who—

Baghera: I’m well aware.

Etoiles: No but it’s— it’s— it’s for that reason that I told Forever. I totally understand the fear and everything, it’s normal. You see a dude turning into a Code, you ask yourself, ‘What’s the guy who sent him doing?’

Baghera: Well, yeah, there you go.

Etoiles: Like, ‘Who sent him?’

Baghera: But you don’t feel any different? Nothing?

Etoiles: Absolutely not, no. Everything is going well. I still hate the Code whenever I see him, I still want to kick his ass. Everything’s fine. Even if right now I want him—

Etoiles: Yeah, well, then again, we have time.

Baghera: I believe you! I trust you. But if there’s— if once you feel any difference or something of the sort, you mention it, okay? To whomever you want, but you mention it.

i am so sleepy right now but i was thinking abt Luis.

And yknow. every once in a while i think about this in horknee context bc this lil skill is just wildly attractive but also i think about how, when Luis spins that lighter so effortlessly, he never once drops it. and the movement is fluid, skilled and he just does it without second thought. Like its long practiced and its been a part of his life for a while. And its something i feel like he started learning to try and look cool.

But he couldnt even flick it open or so much as hold onto it during his final moments. How awful and pathetic must one feel in their final moments as they feel these small things slip away. Something that was once second nature and easy, done like a sort of unconscious stim, becomes impossible as you feel yourself slip away. The lighter tricks wouldve been a skill he'd have put time in to learn, and as small as it is it just shows how rapidly he declined and i cant imagine how deeply devastating that would feel as all that time slips away into something that never mattered as your efforts to be somebody, be who you wanted to be, also slip away. Also goes to show how much he really mustered EVERYTHING he had to save Leon with that gunshot. And

Isn't it so engrossing that throughout the SW Remake Ada has been so atypically fine with Luis touching/being physically close to her? I love their dynamic and Luis is really important for Ada, considering he wasn't just only important for the job, not anymore after some hours in the story passed, but that touch thing stayed with me. Ada had always been so avoidant when it comes to physicality except for fighting

yeah, i wrote a ramble of them and touch [X], and my interpretation of them is a past friendship.

like even the way they talk seems like they know each other. many people try to discredit their care for each other, and say, "but her finger is on the trigger."

remember what leon said in remake re2, "you won't shoot."

luis knows this. that's why he is trying to convince her, he knows ada and knows her more than leon. luis doesn't double question her. when luis asks ada who she is working for, she says, "You don't wanna know." and HE TRUSTS HER. when luis was in danger with krauser, he knows she will come.

and when krauser kills luis, like- look at her reaction:

luis and ada deserved so much in their dynamics. it's unfortunate he died.
