So, like, I may or may not have written a small fragment of “Bular’s day out.” I’ve just put in on AO3 if anyone is interested.

Bular hated fleshbags. He was taught to despise them from the moment he came out of his birthstone. And now by some irony, he was turned into one by this mysterious. How did Stricler even get that? Now he is being held as a war prisoner by hunters, in this sky dwelling vessel disguised as the human household. Draco isn't personally worried when someone decides to copy the attacks from fifty years ago, obviously, but he is worried in general because Hermione is one of his best friends and her muggle parents paint a great big target on her back.

"Don't you think you're being a little ridiculous?" Hermione asks when Draco tells her that she's not allowed to go anywhere without a pureblood. He or Neville preferably, but even Ron will do in a pinch.

"Not about this," he says seriously. "A muggleborn girl died las time someone started throwing around this heir of Slytherin crap. Severus is working on trying to figure out who it is, but it's hard when no one knows how they're doing it."

Heir of Slytherin his ass. It's obviously some disillusioned upper year who's parents were likely Death Eaters that took Voldemort's fall personally. Unfortunately, that's most of Slytherin house.

Some of Hermione's derision has faded, but she's still frowning. "Well, can I at least go to the bathroom alone?"

She says it as a joke, but he snaps, "Definitely not! That's where the last girl was killed! Go with Parvati or Ginny. I thought girls liked going to the bathroom in groups anyway?"

"You don't mean," she starts, hesitates, then says, "Are you talking about Moaning Myrtle?"

"Obviously," he says, and he's trying to sound condescending, but mostly he's just really, really worried. "One twelve year old muggleborn girl has already died in Hogwarts. Let's not make it two. Don't go anywhere alone, or with anyone else of questionable blood status, okay?"

"Okay," she says quietly.

It doesn't at all make him feel better.

Hermione hates doing as she's told.

imagine late night conversations for Lockwood and Lucy. it's 4:15 am they're both delirious due to lack of sleep so conversations go from existential dread to "I wonder if dogs have thoughts" to comfortable silence as they lay in Lucy's bed (totally platonic ofc wdym George) ever so close yet still not in each other's personal space bc neither of them are sure if they can cross that line yet but they want to be in each other's presence all the time but also "she's my associate" and "he's my boss"
