Gonna use this as a lazy recap cause I doubt I'll have time to do a proper one okay it turned way longer than I expected

First of all his SMILE!!! Seeing him smile fucking lit up my world, really I get it harry, I get it now. When he gave us the first huge smile, to see that in person, omg I've never felt so happy, I'm so fucking in love with this man.

his VOICE!!!! SO much powerful than I expected!! He sings like an angel, we know that, but hearing live is just different. An angel but fuck what a powerful one!!!!

CHEEKBONES. HOW ON EARTH?! I've never seen a man more beautiful.

The show, sound and lights amazing. The band amazing. Fucking rockstars. The Fearless solo took me to another dimension, my cheeks hurt from smiling so much at that point!! No joke.

I'm gonna say it again. the CROWD!! Never had I felt such energy! It was just on another level. So many projects, such a safe space, so so queer!! Everyone was loud loud and loud. I can't hear shit right now.

The mf moved OTB and we had to pull out the project without any warning jahdjs I haven't seen videos yet but it looked amazing there. As I said it was so queer, there were sooo many flags and I hope the lights project worked. Also OTB before Habit? He said it's my turn to be loud loud and loud

HABIT. I'm sorry but I can't not highlight it. As I said everything was so loud but PRINCESS PARK was deafening I have some videos I'll try to post at some point when I have time

7 and Beautiful War are louis' songs. periodt. Louis owns them and makes them an experience on their own. In my opinion both songs allow him to show more of his vocals, in a way maybe he didn't have the confidence to explore so much in his first album. I hope he is confident enough now because he hits every single note in both. The high notes in 7 and how raw his voice is in Beautiful War, I hope we get to listen more of that in LT2 I bet we will because coacoac and change are amazing live! As always, he loved the lights for Beautiful War.

KMM PROJECT. Well... it was mind-blowing. The energy was extraordinary. I can still hear his "HEEY!!" when he realised 🥺 seeing his expression was something else. I'm so happy it went well. We just wanted to create an experience for him on his first ever latin american solo show. A moment he wouldn't forget. A moment made just for him because he is fucking amazing and he deserves it. I hope we delivered.

About the support acts: Marineros is great <3 lovely girls, great music. They played a little bit of Fireproof mashed up with one of their own! Very very good. Sun Room is sick!! Good band, great energy! They seemed sooo grateful. To Louis, to the crowd. They fucking adore Louis, man. And they said we were their favourite show ever jahsjajdj yay!!

Others/funny: I can confirm that 95% of Louis' fans are larries. And idk how the other 5% manages to not be bitter af during the shows. Before the show started the screens showed the upcoming shows here, one of them Harry's. Every time he appeared in the screen the crowd went crazy. In a larrie way. Also I said this already but Marineros went bluegreening with the lights at some point judging by their faces they knew what they were doing and the crowd went craaaazy with the screaming. It was ridiculous and so funny jahdhdh

I had the BEST time. I will never forget this. I couldn't stop smiling. I'm beyond proud of him, as a person, as an artist. I'm beyond proud of this safe space we built together. I'm sooo so happy!

I think I'll reminisce about ltwt hard this year. Last year I was still stunned by fitf and then aotv, I didn't really reminisce as I should have... So... Since he will be mia most likely... Mmm... I'm pondering. I think I will... Maybe make a post everyday with highlights of every show? Mmm... At least the NA leg. Maybe Europe too. I'll be too busy from May onwards.

Just like this other post, I wanted to again ✨highlight✨ some fan interactions posted to twitter, this time of @/simp4bandanarry @/fernsrrylou during LTWT LA night 1 (and 2). A lil warning this post is gonna be CHAOTIC (as chaotic as these interactions eeeee) so eh yeah good luck reading this.

Short version: RBB, blue bandanas, AIMH banner, heavy larrying, louis pointing, Charlie coming by 4 times.

So this is the tweet that you might have seen coming by (uglygiffed a bit of the video as I’ve done for all linked videos) :

Louis always includes a few visual puns and Easter eggs in his lyric videos (notably Just Like You). The Bigger Than Me lyric video is fun too.

The first thing to notice is that the color palette and font usage are similar to the Faith in the Future album cover: vermilion and black, featuring mixed fonts and a checkerboard pattern.

In fact, Louis probably deliberately chose the MARNI striped collar checked pattern jacket because of the graphics. His photoshoot from the release is incorporate into the lyric video.

Now for the highlights:

“HIDE BEHIND A SMILE”: there’s no smile, but the mouth is highlighted. The graphic shows a look of defiance, but the lyrics are a confession of insecurity, the fear of revealing vulnerability

“I DIDN’T READ THE SIGNS”: the graphics are cute, alternating triangles and circles. (I’m thinking of Louis’ ankle tattoo.)

“ALL OF THESE VOICES”: the cacophony of words in the periphery. The graphic also depict an eyeball with the iris in the middle. (My post on Louis’ eye imagery, and the persistence of fish eye lens photos.)

“I DON’T HEAR THEM ANYMORE”: H EAR with the graphic of the ear (a visual pun). It reminds me of this, “where s he lays.”

Then we have the rapidly changing graphics of the chorus:

“IT’S BIGGER THAN ME”: the montage of Louis’ FitF era symbols-> his photos, the smiley face with X’d out eyes, the checkerboard, the floating eye.

The circular graphics also recall the swirling eye graphics of 369 and LTWT (which also featured the checkerboard).

The square is an interesting contrast. It’s in white, flashes by in a millisecond, and unlike the rest of the graphics, the square is hand drawn, a sketch. It brings our attention to Louis’ face inside the circle, but the square also suggests the phrase, “a square peg in a round hole,” meaning that in some ways, Louis may always be an outsider. This is reified by the use of the mismatching fonts: the graphics are a little jarring and out of place, a little bit uncomfortable to read.

“I’VE WOKEN UP FROM MY SLEEP”: once again, we see the almost floating eye in the checkered background (top left)— an eye inside an eye— as the black circle represents a pupil and the red dot, the iris. The iris changes with the music, as one “wakes up from sleep” and our eyes accommodate to waking, adjusting from darkness to light.

I find it fascinating that the eye/ target motif is incorporated into so many aspects of Louis’ work, even in the AFHF graphics of this year.

Bigger Than Me is rich with allusions to our senses, as if discovering them anew after emerging from isolation. It is a metaphor for the philosophical epiphany in the song. Louis is discovering that his musical world is a partnership with his fans: his songwriting in the pandemic is worthwhile only if there’s a chance to share the music afterward.

Louis is also discovering that individual suffering can be put into the context of universal feelings. We can be too hard on ourselves, dwell too much in our own heads, but also take criticisms too deeply into our hearts. Empathy and sympathy give us perspective. We can forgive ourselves, but we can also demand better of other people.
