he don't mind it, he'll listen to the best of his ability— but he's a bit of yapper himself ! you'll be talkin and he'll cut you off to speak his mind. y'all piss off ichigo to no end, give him headaches when you talk about something that gets you both excited. though, when renji senses that you feel annoying when you talk sometimes, he'll purposely bring up a subject that you love to talk about jus so he can listen. renji will hold you in his lap as you do his hair, yapping his ear off about some shit he never even heard of— but this man is still tryna understand it, he'll ask for you to re-explain things jus so next time he can give his honest opinion.

Red has won the championship. A prequel of sorts to the greater story of Missing Numbers. Told from Blue's POV.

Before he got any closer, I made a grand effort to compose myself, puffing my chest out and shutting my eyes in what I hoped looked like a cocky expression, rather than me holding back tears.

“Well, I THOUGHT I hadn’t made any mistakes raising my Pokemon. But darn, I guess you’re the new Pokemon League Champion…”

I sneered at him, “Although I don’t like to admit it.”

I stuck my hand out, offering a shake as if to officiate yep, you did it, you’re better than me, good job in the way that I’d seen grown-ups do on TV. He just stared at it, still looking like someone had died, not like he’d just done the greatest achievement any Pokemon trainer could ever hope to do?

What an idiot. I couldn’t understand why he cared so much. It wasn’t like HE was hurt by any of this. He should be ECSTATIC.

He opened his mouth, as if somehow this warranted him using his words. Before he could, though…

The door opened behind him.

If my stomach had already dropped, well. Now it was digging itself a grave.

Flint scrambled backwards as the creature stepped even closer into view. It was still separated from himself and the other programs by light bars, but even at this short distance, it was far too close for comfort.

It was tall and physically glitched, more so than any program Flint had seen before. Small pixelated pieces drifted off of its odd nearly human form, with limbs too long and talons too sharp and glowing spines protruding over its form, with pulsing lime green circuitry wrapping around its limbs to a sickening degree.

It was unlike any being Flint had yet to meet and he hoped there wasn't anything else quite like this out there.

It was horrifying just to look at.

"It's called Amalgam," Clu said finally, piercing the silence with his surprisingly calm tone. "We've found it's somehow part program and part user, and I have to wonder," he added with a derisive laugh. "If it looks familiar to you?"

Flint's heart was thudding against his ribcage, but it nearly stopped at once, leaving the breath escaping his lungs with a whimper as a chill clawed over his form when the creature turned his way, locking its only visible eye with the user.

Its eye was dark. A dark reddish brown that was so intimately familiar with the user that it made him sick.

It was the exact color Flint had seen every day of his life, more than once a day and any time he would catch his own reflection in the mirror.

After all, he would know it anywhere. It was his own eye there on the monster's face.

The creature responded to Flint's fearful reaction, coming even closer to the bars and peering through with grim delight as the user flinched under its ferocious gaze, with an eye so familiar that it was impossible.

Like looking into a cursed reflection, Flint couldn't pull himself away, forced to stare deep into his personal abyss.

"It... it's mine." Flint said at last, both user and Amalgam fully recognizing their shared existence. "That thing, it's mine, isn't it?"

i love how reassuring eiden is of yakumo’s fears because like. he understands. he understands that feeling of abandonment, the feeling of people always coming and going, the feeling he can’t fully cherish the relationships he has no because in a heartbeat those people could leave him.

yakumo’s always struggled with those fears and insecurities, but after witnessing the pain the great serpent went through, how he lost the love of his life to cruel circumstances outside of his control.. it just solidifies yakumo’s fears even more. that he’s right to be afraid eiden will be taken from him, that he’ll push eiden away or hurt him, that he’s not deserving of love, because that’s how history has gone for his ancestors. who is he to change the course of fate?

but eiden is stubborn, in his love. no matter how many times yakumo cries out of fear, or says he’s worried about hurting eiden, he feels undeserving of love and affection, eiden doesn’t get tired or annoyed. he’s always right there to reassure him and tell him all the ways he’s wrong. it may not have worked out for the great serpent, but yakumo isn’t him. yakumo is yakumo. and he’s got eiden by his side, to love and cherish, no matter what happens. eiden isn’t going anywhere. eiden isn’t scared of yakumo. he’s not going to be pushed away by yakumo’s fears or somewhat uncontrollable power.

because he loves yakumo, just the same as yakumo loves him. he will stay with yakumo until the very end, walking side by side with him, hand in hand, and overcoming any problems, whether they be internal or external, together.

he sees that lonely, distant look in yakumo’s eyes sometimes, thinking about a past that wasn’t his, a past that ended in tragedy. and so, he’ll pet yakumo’s head, softly and slowly, and whisper sweet nothings into his ear, just as he did back in the cave where the great serpent rests. until yakumo’s crying because he feels so full of love it has no choice but to overflow <3

Original characters are so so so incredible, though... Like, people who don't interact with them at all are truly missing out the endless wonders and delights in what people are capable of thinking and creating, as well as in the individuals themselves. The creativity is infinite and it's always beyond endearing and inspiring to see people on dash and dms gush about their original characters and canons and lores, as well as seeing the love and care and effort placed in every details and creations. Genuinely, for those who write original characters, you're some of the coolest folks to exist ever and those ( especially with canon muses ) who are more than content to interact with original character, you're just as the coolest. We're very much handling all of everyone's OCs' hands either they like it or not. We're protecting them at all costs and giving them all of the hearts and stars and more. 💖✨
