Also, I love that Echo is back, but again, I AM SO SAD REX ISN’T WITH HIM! Because if Rex isn’t in this episode, then he probably won’t be in the next two either. Like I was really hoping we were past the “let Rex show up in ONE (1) arc per season, somewhere mid-season” thing. Like I was hoping we were gonna actually tie him into the story so that the torch for “clone centric animation show” could be passed to him and now I’m less optimistic.

I mean, anything can happen still but… we have two episodes left and somehow we still don’t quite know what the deal is with Omega’s blood and M-count, she still needs to escape, we still don’t know who clone X is, and we somehow need to find a conclusion for the batch AND the clone rebellion that explains their absence in future storylines without being rushed and… that’s,,,, A LOT?

In conclusion, I am very confused and scared and I’d like to go home now pls (by which I mean the batch should get to go back to Pabu with ALL THE OTHER CLONES IN TBE GALAXY and have a nice little life🥺)

erendis sketch (kind of, it has some colour)

The scene where erendis gives aldarion the bough of oiolairë is one of my favourite sections of the tale.

A lot of quotes and thoughts under the cut, spoilers for some of Aldarion and Erendis, you have been warned, this is long!!

The oiolairë is a really interesting númenórean custom, in 'Aldarion and Erendis' it says,

'Here must be told of the custom that when a ship departed from Númenor over the great sea to Middle-earth a woman, most often of the captain's kin, should set upon the vessel's prow the Green Bough of Return; and that was cut from the tree oiolairë, that signifies 'Ever-summer', which the Eldar gave to the Númenóreans, saying that they set it upon their own ships in token of friendship with Ossë and Uinen. The leaves of evergreen, glossy and fragrant; and it throve upon sea-air'.

At this point in the story Aldarion and his father Meneldur have fought over to Aldarion's voyaging when, as the heir, his father thinks he should be taking more interest in his own people.

'Meneldur forbade the Queen and the sisters of Aldarion to bear tbe bough of oiolairë to Rómenna where lay the Palarran, saying that he refused his blessing to his son'

In response Aldarion says,'If I must go without blessing or bough, then so I will go'.

The blessing and the bough are linked, the favour of the king and the friendship of Ossë and Uinen who calms the sea, as well as a token of safe return. In Numenor Uinen was particularly honoured for saving the ships so you can see why the Queen doesn't want Aldarion to leave without the branch.

After this, Erendis says that she will bring the branch and delivers it as the ship is preparing to leave, 'little though she loved the noise and bustle of the great harbour and the crying of the gulls'.

This is the point when Aldarion falls in love with Erendis so it is clearly an important moment but I think it goes a little deeper than that.

Throughout the tale there's a clear split in what the pair value, the sea and the land, the ships and the woods, and this is one of the few moments where these opposite priorities co-exist. Erendis delivers a branch which thrives on sea-air, a tree as a symbol of friendship with the sea but also of a safe return! This little moment, to me, shows how their relationship could have developed if they were both willing to compromise.

I also find it interesting how the bough is a token of friendship with Uinen, when Erendis later declares Uinen as her enemy.

'I am no daughter of Uinen: rather is she my foe.'

There is also a neat parallel with the elven birds and the tree they receive as gifts from the eldar at their wedding. All of these originate with the elves, can be used to symbolise their love and each one changes in meaning for them as their relationship breaks down.

Focusing on the oiolairë, after Aldarion decides to leave again (and I could talk for ages on their conversation before he leaves!!) Erendis sets the branch of oiolairë but hides her tears until the ship is gone.

On this trip Aldarion is gone for longer than expected as the haven at Vinyalonde is destroyed and he has to rebuild and on the journey home he is swept off-course, to the north. When Aldarion finally sees Numenor again he notices that the oiolairë has withered in the cold.

Ominous! For such a symbolic branch to die can't help the overall feeling in Numenor at this point that Aldarion is doing something wrong!

'the Venturers were fallen out of esteem; for men thought that he had treated Erendis ill.'

After their wedding, eight years after his last voyage and with their daughter not even four years old, Aldarion sets off again but promises to return in two years. This time, Erendis does not set the branch on his ship or send one, the wife of Aldarion's captain does it instead.

This seems to be the point where Erendis gives up on him, dismissing the elven birds (I could talk about that as well but i will resist) and she leaves to live in her home in the centre of Numenor, far from the sea. When Aldarion does not return after the promised two years she stays there and when he does eventually get back he finds his house empty.

When Aldarion becomes king he journeys to Middle-earth again but, 'It is recorded that upon the prow of Hirilonde he set no bough of oiolairë, but the image of an eagle with golden beak and jewelled eyes, which was the gift of Cirdan.'

Every important voyage Aldarion takes mentions the branch of oiolairë, which is enough to show its significance, but its connection with Numenor as well as the elves and the maiar and how it symbolises Aldarion and Erendis' relationship makes it a really interesting piece of the story.

Given Nev's animal motifs are little birds and mice, I tend to include those in her clothing features— she has a patched/embroidered denim jacket that she loves. She goes for a variety, but must common fits are ditzy dresses/skirts, sneakers/brogues, mom jeans that she cuffs up, oversized tees/cardigans and sweaters/button ups. Her colour palette is typically more earthy; there's always a lot of green and her favourite shade of yellow. She enjoys her fun graphics and motif t-shirts, pin badges and patches etc— her clothing often has visible repairs with patched fabric/coloured threads.

HOW DO THEY SHOW THAT THEY CARE ABOUT SOMEONE? HOW DO THEY EXPRESS THAT THEY DON'T LIKE SOMEONE?

Nev is very giving— she likes to bake for people, will run errands and do chores in typical acts of service. She bothers to know a person; to remember what they like, how they like it etc. She's prone to handmaking gifts, like scrapbooks and cards alongside larger things. Comfort and company are her defaults— she tries to take care of people in tbe ways she knows how.

Being disliked by Nev is a feat in itself. She typically avoids people she absolutely does not like and will try to distance herself, but she attempts to be unconfrontational. However, if pushed to a point, she can be bold with her dislike of people to the degree she will be openly vocal about it, but never cruel.

PLLSS pure chaos! Kevin and nico thinking its easier cos the bubs love them but they get so grumpy and chaotic when momma isnt there.

Lando is actually a grumpy little fucker when moma isn't there cos no momma means milk from a bottle snd that SUCKS. He just sulks and grumps and is being a pain in the ass until finally Nico just swaddles hi snd hugs him close kskss

Yuki being a cutie and just wanting to play snd snuggle, but then his earmuffs are pulled off and krvin is helping Mick and grumpy Lando I the bath and Nico is overseeing some bubs doing their homework. Yuki wailing because its noisy in the house too and Oscar tries to help him put the muffs on but its difficult. Oscar rying really hard not to cry cos that would be too loud for Yuki! Little Guanyu padding out of his padding spot to help, carefully putting tbe muffs back on and changing his hair to momma colour to soothe Yuki and Yuki noses into him and calms down

And pllss poor little Val! He wants to swim but its baby bath time and no one can watch him I the pool so he just stays plonked I front of the window holding his moomin and whining until Lance wobbles over and asks Val to watch finding Nemo with him! Thats ocean stuff!!

Hi! saw that you were not feeling well so I didn't want to bother you much. But now that you're back, can I ask you about the mountain fortress in Songbird? I looked at the monastery that you referenced but as a person who's from a place that doesn't have mountains much less mountain fortresses, it's hard to wrap my mind around the idea of it. But I love the idea that a city can just exist like you described so I wanted to ask if you have more reference pictures or places I can look up? The pictures I found on Pinterest aren't much helpful lol

Hmm 🤔 this is a tough one. I have travelled in the mountains a lot so the concept came easily to me without consulting any specific reference picture but there are certain photos that I kept around to consult for descriptions. I'm including those in hopes that it gives you a clearer picture.

First, this cover art I found on pinterest, of this book called The King of Ashes. But this is more of a coastal city in the western world than a mountain fortress in Asia.

Second, these pics I clicked of the Key monastery of Himachal Pradesh, India. It is said to be around a 1000 years old so not too far from the Dvaravati period, though set in widely different cultures. This is how I imagined the buildings were stacked but obviously with way more trees because vegetation type is completely different.

Third, I have this quick sketch I made to help me conceptualize the city. There isn't a lot of description about the city in the 1st chapter but we will see more of it as we move further into the story.

How the two rivers meet—

As you can see from the two different colours of water, this is the confluence of two different rivers. This is Uttarakhand, India. (Interesting tidbit - You are looking at the creation of the river Ganga here.) Both pics are also by me.

It was finaly hear! Your wedding day! Today you would officially be known as Mrs Silver. Your hair and make up had been done beautifully, and you felt like a princess. The wedding was taking place on a beautiful spring day, in the large garden area of an old Victorian manor house. The isle was laid out on a white silk carpet on the grass, with peoples chairs all at the sides, and the whole area was adorned with white and light blue flowers. Just the colour scheme you and Terry wanted. You hear a nock at your door "were ready for you now miss L/N" your friend says as she enters the room to collect you. You both start making your way down the stairs of the manor house, making sure to carry the end of your dress. As you didnt have much family, your friend was going to walk you down the isle instead. You make your way out side and see the white carpet, feeling nervous, you turn to your friend. "Bestie, dont worry. Your getting married to the love of your life! Everything is going to be amazing" you exhale a sigh of relief at her kind words. Once your at the end of the isle, the music starts to play, and everyone stands up as you walk down the isle. You see Terry is wearing a white shirt with a blue tie as he turns around to see you, he starts to cry when he finaly sees you. You hadn't seen him cry like this before. Once your at the end of the isle, you and Terry cant help but smile at eachother "you look impossibly beautiful Y/N" "thank you Terry, and you look incredible too" you take his hand and the ceremony begins. The man marrying you both says "the couple have written their own vows" that's when Terry takes my hands in his and begins to speak. "Y/N, I love you more than life itself. You have brought so much excitement, love, and understanding into my life that I never thought I would be lucky enough to experience. I loved you from the moment I met you, and you look more and more beautiful every day" he takes your ring and places it on your finger. "Having you as my soul mate, has made my life complete" now it was your turn. "Terry, ever since I met you, I knew that you were the most sweet kind hearted people who I would ever have the fortune to meet. I knew from the start that you would make someone feel like the most important and beautiful person in the world. I just didnt know at the time that the lucky woman was me. I love you more and more each day" you take his ring out and put it on his finger "I cannot wait to spend the rest of my life as your wife" tbe audience all let out a cute awwww. "Then but the power vested in me, i now pronounce you, man and wife. You may kiss the bride" you both have a beaming smile as the audience cheer! You take Terry's face in your hands and kiss him like you've never kissed him before. You can feel his smile as you do, and he hold you close to him.

A few hours later after the ceremony, if was time for yours and Terry's first dance. There was a large wooden dance floor with everyone's tables outside in the gardens, and there was a large dance space in the inside of this floor. Terry takes you by the hand and leads you to the dance floor, holding you close as your about to start "I have a little surprise for you mrs Silver..." he says giving me a cheeky smile. Its then that everyone gasps as the music starts playing... as ED SHEERAN walks onto the dance floor with his guitar, playing yours and Terry's song (perfect) "oh my God Terry! You really got ed Sheeran for our wedding?!" You say as he start to dance with you "of course I did baby, anything for my beautiful wife" you look at him with such love and admiration "I love you Terry silver" and I love you Y/N silver" you have a sweet kiss, and lie your head on his chest, as you dance around the dance floor, to Ed Sheeran, playing his guitar 💚

ROH Death Before Dishonor 2022 - Quickfire Reaction

It's been another wild month of wrestling, continuing on with ROH's second Khan-era PPV.

A stacked card begets a lot of potential to be a great show, doubly impressive when in the middle of G1 and Summerslam season, but can it top Forbidden Door? Let's see

Zero Hour

It's a little sad that Colt isn't repping Dark Order anymore but good to see him back in a ring. Same for Anthony Henry, the Workhorsemen are a good tag team well-suited for ROH (even though I must admit I love the Wingmen too)

Match was good for getting the crowd involved, Henry did a lovely piledriver and Frog Splash for two different nearfalls but Cabana powers through

I've heard news about the Trustbusters from some AEW Dark spoilers, but for first impressions: good music, good talent in Slim J, probably gonna do well as weaselly midcard heels until they get some muscle

Eli Isom impressed me a lot more this match than he did in Supercard against Gates of Agony

I dunno who this Prince Nana is but buying TBE seems weird to me, is Tully not gonna be a part of it anymore? Seems like it with them being called The Embassy, maybe Tully will just be with Gresham?

I said it at Supercard and I'll say it again, Cage is best when he's just hossing

Zayne (fresh off of BOSJ), Christian and Deppen did really well too, they built Christian's hot tag really well, Deppen did a lot of workhorsing and Zayne undoubtedly was great

How can you not love Willow? Her music is great too

This is the first I've seen of the Righteous, their music is unique, they have kinda cult energy with a dash of Big Lebowski, I'd happily see more of them

I enjoyed the match more than I thought tbf, lots of charisma, lots of fun, commentary made me grin too, I had predicted Castle and Boys to win but it surprised me that they went 2 title changes in a row

Could we possibly just get Regal on commentary like every title match? He's so joyous but also technical, you learn so much

It's a very interesting but valid strategy to see Garcia and Yoots work the ears, you don't see it a lot

I was also glad to hear that there's intent towards Yoot not going for a rope break, because his last few Pure matches have had him be the first to lose a rope break and I always felt that feeling like weakness

Loved the submission swapping relating to JAS and BCC too

That is the best PURE match I've seen so far in the Khan era, if it weren't for Claudio challenging Gresham I would've picked Garcia for this, but I wanted that BCC agenda and I'm getting it, Bryan needs to come back so he's next

Didn't last long, Singh came back to help Pillmanize Joe's shoulder, match hadn't started yet so fair game. But the ref ejects Singh before ringing the bell, which is clever, didn't eject Dutt though when he brought in a pipe (to feint so Lethal could use the belt)

Crowd have been rabid for this match, I was okay about it, the build and the interferences made me less invested

Woof, Fight for the Fallen ain't messing around; Mox vs RUSH, Swerve vs Sterling & Nese, Danielson returning vs Garcia, good stuff

Surprised Dax didn't wear his 'Fight like an 8 year old' shirt, AEW made them to donate to children's heart charity

The pop for the bell ringing wasn't as loud as last time which was a shame

Jay and Dax went 200 miles an hour there, but it looks like it hurt him a bit since they had him checked by medical, post-show reports say it's precautionary which is fortunate

Conclusion

This was a great PPV.

I think I preferred Forbidden Door by an inch, but it has to be on a similar level because ROH didn't suffer so much from abrupt endings and injury, but the match quality for Forbidden Door was slightly higher, but it was better than Supercard overall which is a plus.

The matches were all really good, very happy to see Claudio win a world title finally. Khan booked the PPV strongly and hopefully it pays off for him, I don't see how tv companies wouldn't be considering ROH right now.

Hopefully a new chapter will begin.

I'm gonna take a wild guess and say that you just sort of went into it and put what colour you thought would be right in the the place you think it should go LOL. My second tip is to not be afraid of edges. This is super common for beginner artists but just like... paint right up to the edges, paint over your lines. It doesn't matter especially with acrylic because it dries fast and is easy to cover. (you can see I completely disregard my lines in the example above). This will help you avoid those white edges between objects.

Also, if you're using cheap paints i totally get how this might be difficult, but don't avoid using thick colours. Water-y colours are great if you know how to do a watercolour painting but if you're looking for a solid acrylic/oil looking final product build it up till it's thicky thiccums.
