Waaa! Hello there! Im glad you asked and Im willingly here to help you with that!

Although,Im not a really an expert for tutorials. So please bear with me with some grammatical errors qwq

long post ahead!

Okay,so here it is: I. Angles and shapes

First off,you need to determine his head angle. I used some angles from the existing pics of Fort Max from MTMTE for this owo When you do,try to make a basic shape. In other words,draw a box. So when you draw a box,it should be look like 3D-ish like my illustration above. Fortress Maximus has a very Square-shaped individual and his head shape could vary in some angles and may inconsistent. (my brain is not brainging atm)

II. Drawing For drawing,now I picked the 3/4 angle because it's easy,lol.

I started sketching his head with a circle first and then proceed to add the box shape. The top of his head is not completely flat,but more like curved. But it won't be neccessary later on,I think? (It's just my liking when sketching tho qwq). Then you see a shaded part so it looks like 3D-ish,and I added a jawline and neck.

Next,drawing his face and neck. It didn't go the way the base looks like,but you could overlap on some areas if you needed to (such as chin,jawline,forehead,etc..). Btw,you can use the lasso tool and transform tool to adjust the angle for you liking.

Then,you draw a slightly elevated angular square for his brim.(similar to this lego piece,lmao). Also,you can add his side thingy-stuff (ii have no idea what are those called). I preferrably draw those things angular,but you can draw it straight up a rectangle and more easier.

Then add that little thing in the middle like most every cybertronian have. Again,repeat the same "Slightly elevated angular square" but its now a triangle-rectangle hybrid.

Also,try to make it look like buried within the brim. (It still depends on you if you want it on top or look pushed down)

I erased some of his forehead and jawline. And Ta-Da! This looks cursed af,but we're getting there! Final step is to add his antlers or horns.

I finally added his horns/antlers! his horns/antlers could vary in shapes too! some examples seen on the lower right,but ive seen more than that!

keep in mind that to flip/mirror the canvas if you drawing those so you can be aware if it looks weird

Add that smol half square between his helm and antlers

and we're almost done! added some details too You can also add those "shadows" on his eyes,like in the idw comics. Max eyes looks a bit small and weird,but it can be fix by erasing some parts to make his eyes looks better.

Finallly...Done!

I made some few minor adjustments for my liking.

I hope you find this tutorial helpful,this is my first ever tutorial i made. It may not be 100% percent accurate,but you get some ideas. Also,I really appreaciate that you asked me for this and it makes me very happy!

Oooooh definitely, I love our spicy boy and he'd look fabulous with a tail! I went with something focused on warmth because I'm freezing in my office at work and it was very comforting.

Here we go!

You were accustomed to him surprising you, even if his excitability often resulted in him spoiling said surprises well in advance, but something about how carefully he'd guarded this one told you it was going to be special. Parking your car in a small stretch of open sandy soil by the mostly abandoned road, you stepped out into the dim morning light and looked over the dense tangle of forest you'd have to work through to get to the provided coordinates. He'd instructed you to dress for hiking but pack your swimsuit, so you were prepared for the challenge and eager to see what awaited you through the trees.

The hike was short but none too easy, making you all the more relieved when you caught a glimpse of water through the leaves and knew you were close. The wetlands had countless bodies of water that met with the ocean at the end of their long tangles, allowing your waterbound partner ample access to the world beyond the ocean, and he must have found something worth sharing at this particular spot. Your theories were half confirmed when the sandy soil below turned entirely to the former and the trees thinned as the ground sloped downwards to meet a healthy flowing river.

A flash of crimson in the green depths caught your eye, and you managed to push through a final patch of thick vegetation just as a familiar face burst out of the water.

"You made it!" Rodimus welcomed as he pushed himself to the shore, halfway beaching himself just to get close to you. Laughing at his enthusiasm and the splash of water over your front, you greeted the mech with a salty kiss, making his tail lift above the water for a wag of delight before he recovered enough to dip it back beneath the waves. Clearing his vents and settling his chin on an elbow, he resumed speaking with much more control. "Have any trouble getting here?"

"Nothing I wasn't expecting." you confirmed, brushing a few pieces of bark from your clothes. Looking around at the waterway, you found no sign of anything beyond the beauty of nature, and while it was nice to have a private spot to enjoy his company you found yourself perplexed as to his earlier excitement. "Where exactly is here, anyway?"

Rodimus took your confusion as his cue, his optics brightening again as he pushed himself away from the shore and back into deeper water. Holding his upper half above the waves, he grinned with delight, beckoning you to approach in the most theatrical way possible. You were briefly confused until you put together he was gesturing to the water itself.

Humoring him, you set down your bag and approached the wet sand on the shore, bending over to dip your hand in the water to see what all the fuss was about.

You got your answer straight away, finding your fingertips met warmth instead of the cold you'd been anticipating.

"It's... warm?" you said with open surprise, dipping your arm deeper to find it wasn't just the surface. Perplexed and unable to find any source of heat along the seemingly normal waterway, you lifted your head to meet his delighted expression with your bafflement. "How is it-?"

"Something volcanic, I don't really know how it works." he explained with a shrug of his shoulders, flopping backwards to float along the surface. Folding his arms behind his helm, he swam about in a lazy circle, savoring the warm water with a sight of delight before he turned his helm in your direction."There's hundreds of rivers and streams with spots like this, but humans have claimed basically all of them."

"Except this one?" you asked, already knowing the answer. Suddenly it was clear why the heat loving mech had been so excited, this discovery combined two of his favorite things; warm water and a chance to swim with you without fear of discovery.

Nodding, he briefly dipped beneath the waves before emerging with a grin, undulating his tail as he playfully swam along the surface. "Come on in, try it for yourself!"

Smiling at his enthusiasm, you removed your shoes and set about undressing to get to the swimsuit you'd worn beneath, pretending not to notice how he stared the entire time. Tucking your clothes in your pack to keep them safe, you stepped slowly into the water, almost unable to believe it wasn't heated by anything more than a natural phenomenon. The warmth was like heaven on your body after your earlier excercise.

"Oh wow..." you sighed as you sank in to your shoulders, taking a moment to savor the relief before you pushed off the sandy bottom to swim to him. Rodimus met you and offered his tail as a foothold, slipping his arms beneath you so you could float without effort in his grasp. You happily allowed yourself to be held by the large merformer, the sounds of birdsong and wind in the trees almost lulling you to sleep in his arms.

"Feels good?" he asked with a softer smile, holding you close. You found just enough strength to raise up and give him another kiss, slower and deeper this time, before you leaned back and met his smile.

"Best surprise ever."
