Whaaat? More Undertale?? Say it ain't so!!
Look, I lamented it a bit over on Logan Paul's Shop, and its something you can even see for yourself by viewing the Undertale tag on the blog archive. In terms of games to have been featured on the blog one way or another, Undertale/Deltarune are leagues ahead of the competition. And I am torn on this, still. Like on the one hand, I want the blog to cast a wide net of rips, to not just cover my personal favorites, but to cover as much of SiIvaGunner's history and growth. But on the other hand...Undertale IS a huge part of that history and growth, it has been since the very beginning, and as I discussed in Your Best Nightmario and Shiny Smily TALE the game's very DNA and themes is just a perfect fit for everything that SiIvaGunner stands for. Well, there's that - and there's how rippers like Jamangar just keep absolutely outdoing themselves with how much leverage they can get from this 9-year old game's soundscape. Its rips like Locked In The Underground that remind me of WHY Undertale rips are so prevalent on here.
If you've been reading for a while or just kept up with SiIvaGunner in general to the degree I have (or are from the team!! hi team!!), you may well recognize Jamangar's name. Much like ShonicTH with Trial of the Heart and many others on the channel, Jamangar has carved out her own very specific niche in terms of what she contributes with. That niche is the same one you'll hear in World Out There and Story of Undertale: There are few SiIvaGunner contributors who have as much expertise in ripping Undertale as Jamangar. Yet all of these three rips feel quite different from one another - Story of Undertale is a magnificent journey throughout just about the entire Undertale campaign with instruments changing along the way, wheras World Out There was an incredibly resonant mashup/melodyswap, a full-on shot of nostalgia on all the senses. Indeed, Locked In The Underground follows their footsteps in quality, yet is excellent in a subtly different way - its just a flat-out banger.
I don't know what it is about Bruno Mars' music that makes it work so incredibly well in mashups. Perhaps I have BotanicSage to thank, with Pokemon GSC Is What I Like and 16BIT Magic both permanently etched into my soul ever since I first heard them - but Locked In The Underground takes on the very same challenge, and in my eyes passes with absolutely flying colors. I mean, it only takes a few seconds for the rip to sell you - as soon as you hear Mars' "oh-yeah-yeahs" followed by Undertale SFX playing to the beat, you KNOW Jamangar's made far more than a mere mashup here. It helps, of course, that CORE is already one of the most stand-out songs in the game, much like Colress' battle theme was to Pokémon Black & White's soundtrack in Light! (Potentialseeker Colress) - its hard NOT to get excited seeing a CORE rip knowing just how distinct of a sound any take on the track will have, due to the pure quality of the track underneath.
So much is done to have Locked In The Underground truly fit together. The melodyswap is fantastic on its own, having CORE's lead instrument play in tune with Mars' vocals yet rising high in volume to the song's chorus, and CORE's synthetic backing paired with the drums of Locked Out Of Heaven create such a unique soundscape to boot. But beyond that, there are tons of little flourishes - small segments where CORE's original melody peeks through in the backing, Undertale sound effects sprinkled in to censor expletives or punctuate key moments of the song...like Semi-Charmed All Star, you get the impression that Jamangar GETS both of the songs used, that she's "studied" how Locked Out Of Heaven works in order to have the mashup work so perfectly.
Really - Locked In The Underground is the kind of rip that just feels like a shoe-in for the blog, as one of the most popular rips made during 2020. Funny enough, beyond the obvious combination of Locked Out Of Heaven and Undertale, you could even read the rip's title itself to be referencing the feeling all of us had during the pandemic - sort of reframing its pleas and shouts, in a way. But then Locked In The Underground also isn't the kind of rip where I'm desperate to know more about its possible lore and inner workings: I know Bruno Mars, I know Undertale, I know Jamangar, and she made one of the season's cleanest bangers by doing what she does best. That's awesome.

Ok I saw @anja-the-sane-sibling 's analysis of the facial expressions in Locked out of heaven and it made me want to share my full analysis of the map. I.e my autistic ramble because Just Dance is my newest special interest and JD23 / Just Dancers are a specific fixation within that.
First part to analyse is when we see him for the first time at the beginning of Witch where he's stood by his mothers side. Lets be honest, he looks very depressed and clearly doesn't want to be there but he quickly masks and wears a blank facial expression. We can infer that he's taught himself to mask emotions over the years most likely after facing his mothers wrath.
The next part is baby Jack Rose (who is honestly adorable, he deserved a better up bringing) he's focused on learning his dance moves, trying again and again to make sure he doesn't wobble but he when Night Swan appears and acts dismissive towards him, he instantly seems dejected and stops dancing. My guess is this Jack is probably in the 7-10 age bracket, so he's very fragile when it comes to emotions still therefore his mothers disapproval strongly knocks his confidence.
We then get that amazing transition from child Jack to grown Jack, at the beginning of his dance he's very focused and has a slightly more serious look on his face, that changes as the dance progresses. Showing us how Jack truly loves what he does, he loves performing and seeing all his fans around him enjoying themselves. The most notable change in his expression and energy is during the "Yeah Yeah" parts of the dance where he spins, the more he dances that section the higher his arms get and the more into lip syncing he is. This man was made to perform and clearly feels at home doing so, he's also very good at immersing his audience through his interactions with them, the winks, the looking directly at them, pointing to them during the bridge.
The beginning of the map is then mimicked at the end, Night Swan disapproving and Jack looking down at the floor, happy mood instantly gone just like when he was a child. Then when Wanderlust's portal appears you can see how he quickly pulls himself together, showing no emotion, standing up right and proper with his arms in front of him, similar to how he stands beside his mother's throne. This implies that not only does Jack mask around his mother but he masks around almost everyone, the only time the real Jack Rose comes out is on stage where he lets loose and allows himself to feel nothing but his passion for dance. Its also worth noting his expression after Night Swan's disapproval is also the same as when he was younger, showing that although its a common occurrence it continues to pain him everytime, perhaps Jack is still longing for her approval, to be told she's proud of him or even revive some affection.
Majesty is incredibly interesting when it comes to Jack as we see the internal battle he has, following his mother vs following his heart. He doesn't seem like he entirely wants to be battling Wanderlust but views it as something he has too, he continues to show no emotion regarding the situation until Night Swan turns Jack's fans/audience and Wanderlust into minions, Jack is instantly horrified, reaching out to the audience. Like he's realizing the only reason his mother allowed him to perform like this and gather fans was so she could turn them into part of her army (that serves 💅). Its at this moment that we really feel for Jack, you get that feeling of understanding how shocked and betrayed he feels, and the guilt too from knowing these innocent people have been turned because of him.
The map progresses and we see him arguing with Night Swan in the background, finally standing him for himself. Clearly unsuccessful in changing his mothers mind he then battles to free Wanderlust from the curse, joining the side of the good guys. Its a fun thing to point out but the way they grab hands and push upwards is basically the same move that The Traveller and Si'Ha Nova do in Save your tears when they combine their magic, and how funny is it that when Jack and Wanderlust do that it breaks Night Swan's magic and I was also made aware that the portal behind them leads to none other then SAVE YOUR TEARS!!
Then we get the final showdown between Sara and Night Swan where Jack shares his companions emotions, he's worried and cheering on with them. Sara wins woo! And Night Swan retreats but, Whilst everyone else seems happy about their win Jack looks confused then sad and when him and Mihaly rush over to were Night Swan's portal was you can see his gaze linger before he quickly changes his face to happy and turns to Sara. Despite the way Night Swan treated him, Jack still longs for her affection and is hurt that she didn't even spare him a glance before fleeing, making no attempt to try and bring him with her.
If you wanna party is then were we see Jack Rose finally able to let loose, no controlling mother in sight, just people who truly seem to like him and his style of dance. Jack in this moment is no longer locked out of what he perceives as heaven, he is free to dance and sing and perform, allow himself to truly express himself although I feel that he's still masking in this map, most likely masking the hurt he feels at being abandoned by his mother.
Now with Sacrifice coming soon I'm sure I'll have more to analyse because I am dead set that Jack Rose is the coach for that song there is so many clues that hint towards it, but we'll see come August 17th. I'm also excited to see where his character will go in JD24, will he learn who is father really is? (My bets on Captain Crimson but thats a theory for another day) Will he finally end up with Wanderlust because come on we can all see the signs!

-The media is all about being in Y/n’s business. As best friend of the new #1 hero they’re all up in her business constantly now. Bakugo won’t stand for any Y/n slander so he’s always getting in trouble for talking shit about the media. Kirishima is a staunch supporter of shitting on the media, he just likes to use his manners <3
-Y/n loves her bestie, but she also loves riling him up more. The group is very interested in what Shinsou is packing. Shinsou does in fact have a noticeable swing when he’s wearing nothing but sweatpants. Shinsou’s friends thing the whole thing is hilarious. Shinsou doesn’t let it bother him. He’s too busy enjoying everything that is Y/n.
-After the second week, Bakugo gave Shinsou a lab key so he wouldn’t have to fill out the paperwork needed to access the building. Sometimes, Shinsou will take his work with him and work on it at a table while Y/n is working on projects. Shinsou is still shy about everything so he doesn’t take his friends telling him cheesy stuff very well.

Vanitas x Princess of Heart!reader
Part II of Anywhere
Never had much faith in love or miracles. Never wanna put my heart on the line. But swimmin' in your water's something spiritual. I'm born again every time you spend the night…
Other characters: Ventus, Sora, Aqua, Ienzo, Goofy, Queen Minnie
Set during the events of Kingdom Hearts 3: Sora, Aqua, and Ventus search for Vanitas’ princess.
The group had left the Land of Departure, formerly Castle Oblivion. They were now all in the Gummi Ship. “We might need to pick up someone.” Ventus says to Sora. “She can help us against Vanitas.” The group was confused. “What are you saying, Ven?” Aqua asks.
Ventus turns to Sora. “You know how I’ve been sleeping in your heart this whole time?” He asks Sora. “Still kinda weird, but yeah.” Sora replies. “Vanitas has been doing the same. He found a heart pure of light and he’s been healing in it this whole time.”
Ventus explains, before getting cut of by Sora. “A Princess of Heart? But, there’s only seven. There can’t be an eighth.” He takes a second, watching Ventus pull something out of his pocket. “Can there?” Ventus hands him a drawing.
“I’ve had dreams of her since me and Vanitas split.” Ventus explains. “I didn’t know what they meant until he told me about her.” Sora took the drawing. It was a girl, around Kairi’s age, in a red dress. Her (color) hair was pulled up into an elegant bun with a black tiara proudly on her head. Ventus’ drawing clearly depicted who they need to look for.
Sora takes out his phone and takes a picture of the drawing, sending it to Ienzo back at Radiant Garden. He sends a text saying “Do you know this girl?” He puts his phone back in his pocket before handing the drawing back to Ventus. “Do you know where she might live?” Sora asks, getting a head shake from Ventus in return.
After a while, Sora was getting a call from Ienzo. Everyone gathers around Sora’s seat, looking over as he answers the phone. “We were able to find out who the girl in the picture is. We also found out where she’s hiding.” Ienzo says on the screen, making Ventus sigh in relief.
“Where is she?” Sora asks him. “She’s currently in a new world we have no record of you going. We’ve found the only known entrance to said world at Disney Castle.” A picture of a white vase with a painting of a countryside appeared on the screen.
“That’s the Queen’s favorite vase.” Goofy pointed out. “We’ve already notified the queen about it. She’s already given the go ahead to use it to find The Princess.” “Thanks, Ienzo.” Sora replies. “We’ll be on our way.” The two hang up.

The Gummi Ship had arrived at Disney Castle, but only Ventus and Sora left the ship. The two meet up with Queen Minnie in the library. She was holding the vase they needed. “We’re very sorry, Your Majesty.” Sora says as they met up. “It’s really nothing too big.” Minnie reassures the boys, setting the vase on the ground. Sora raises his keyblade, opening a gateway into the world.

Sora and Ventus arrive in an entirely different world, the countryside that was shown in the design of the vase. They clothes had changed color to white and accents of light red. Ventus looks around, in awe of the place as the two searched for The Princess.
After a while of searching, they find a girl in a short white dress. Her (color) hair was tied up in a braid and she was wearing red high heels. She was trying to climb up a tree. What really caught Sora and Ventus off guard was the small, (favorite color) Flood Unversed near the bottom of the tree, watching her climb.
The two reacted, pulling out their Keyblades, running towards the Flood. The small Unversed didn’t fight, but let out a tiny whimper of fear, backing up until it was against the tree as the two continued running towards it. Before a keyblade was able to hit it, the girl jumps down from the tree, separating Sora and Ventus from the shaking Flood.
Her being down from the tree and looking at them gave them a better look at her. Bangs covered part of her face and her (color) eyes had subtle hints of yellow. “Don’t hurt him!” She was clearly protective of the tiny creature. “That’s an Unversed!” Ventus tries to convince her. “It was created by a monster, so it’s a monster, too!”
“Vanitas isn’t a monster.” The girl feels a tear slide down her cheek. She summons a keyblade. “Furthest thing from. And I won’t let you hurt one of his creatures.” That took both Sora and Vanitas off guard. Someone was defending Vanitas, of all people. The two surrendered, lowering their Keyblades.
Ventus pulls out the drawing from his pocket, handing it to her. She looks over it as he talks. “We’re looking for a Princess of Heart. Could you possibly be her?” He asks. She hands the drawing back. “The name’s (Y/N). Why do you need me, if you don’t mind me asking?” Sora takes a step closer to her.
“You have a connection to Vanitas, right?” He gets a nod in return. “He’s part of the Real Organization XIII. We might need to get him out and you’re possibly the only person who can make sure there’s enough of him to bring back.
She turns to the Unversed, who had calmed down significantly. She gently beckons it over. The group watches as the Flood climbs up her dress to rest on her shoulder. “Count me in.” She tells them.

At the Keyblade Graveyard, Vanitas had the upper hand against Sora and Ventus. He raises his keyblade, ready to quickly finish the fight. He was stopped by the clanging metal of another keyblade stopping him. He looks at the wielder, remembering her.

Vanitas opens his eyes, landing on another station. He looks over, seeing a little girl, her back facing him. She was dressed in a light red ball gown and a black tiara adorned her head. “This place... I've been here. So warm...” Vanitas says aloud, walking towards the girl. She turns around, facing him. Her (color) hair swaying to the side. Her eyes were bright (eye color), full of light and hope.
“I remember now. This is your heart.” Vanitas was right next to the girl, who reaches a hand to him. He kneels down to her level, gently taking her hand. She smiles softly at him.

She was a little older, around his physical age, but it was that little girl that saved him long ago. The princess who healed his heart.
Vanitas drops his keyblade. “Light? Is it really you?” She softly smiles, dropping her keyblade. “Hey, Dark.” Vanitas pulls off his helmet before pulling (Y/N) into a hug. As the two hugged, Vanitas’ heart fully heals.
“I told you, my light is meant for you to hold onto something.” She whispers, quiet enough so only Vanitas hears her. He softly cries, feeling all the pain go away.
Can I just stay here? Spend the rest of my days here? 'Cause you make me feel like I've been locked out of heaven for too long…

Hi.
Still drowning in the Good Omens abyss...
So, did a quick episode scan for some particular moments and in wanting to watch Tennant in his silly dance in Heaven, I misjudged the episode and, instead, watched where he asks Muriel for the file on Gabriel.
I know folks have commented on his disguise. His hair. His golden serpent 'sticker'. His goddamn slides?!
....
I can't be the only one who noticed his angelic 24k grill, right?? Like, it's there for half a second but -
