sister’s bad week snap - a sturniolo triplets short
a/n: requested by anon; lowercase intended. my first fic for all three of them, yippee!
summary: after trying to grieve over the losses of what she loved most, the youngest of the family finally hits her breaking point with her brothers
Tumblr media
in a los angeles townhouse, lived nick, matt and chris, a trio known as the sturniolo triplets. their little sister, y/n, lived with them too. she adored her brothers and how much success they’ve had in such a short amount of time. the triplets had always been there for her, sharing laughter, secrets and support. but this particular week, it seemed like the universe was conspiring against y/n.
first, her beloved pet hamster, whiskers, passed away. then, her favourite stuffed bear named mr. snuggles, who was given to her as a gift by matt, went missing. y/n’s heart was heavy and her spirit was crushed. throughout the week, her brothers, well-intentioned but somewhat oblivious, kept asking if she was okay. they noticed her melancholy and tried to cheer her up with goofy tiktok edits of them made by fans and stupid jokes. but their efforts only seemed to make things worse. all y/n longed for was a moment to grieve her losses in peace.
finally, on a rainy friday afternoon, matt asked the dreaded question once again, chris and nick on either side of him.
“hey, y/n, are you okay?"
tears welled up in y/n’s eyes, and her frustration boiled over.
“no, matt, i’m not okay!" she burst out, her voice trembling.
“whiskers died, mr. snuggles is gone, and you guys keep asking if i’m okay, but you don't even give me a moment to be sad or angry! can't you see that i need some space?!”
the room fell silent, and her brothers exchanged worried glances. they had only wanted to help, but they hadn't realised how their constant attention was suffocating her. realising her outburst, y/n took a deep breath.
“i’m sorry, matt, i didn't mean to snap at you, but this week has been so tough for me. i just need some time to myself right now."
matt nodded understandingly, and the triplets gave her the space she needed. in the following days, they respected her wishes, allowing her to grieve and come to terms with her losses. slowly but surely, y/n began to heal, and her bond with her brothers grew even stronger as they learned the importance of giving her the room to be herself. in the end, y/n’s worst week turned into an invaluable lesson for all of them, emphasising the importance of understanding and supporting each other, even when they couldn't fully grasp what the other was going through.

past life reading: jacob elordi ✨
Tumblr media
For a past life reading I first look toward a clients South Node placement. Jacob has his South Node in Pisces @ 23 Degrees, not only an Aquarius Degree, 23 Degrees brings about unexpected shifts and extreme dramatic changes. Then, I look toward their Nodal MC (In Jacob’s case) or IC line, paired with my intution I can pick up where this past life took place. I believe Jacob lived in Los Angeles, California during his most recent past life. *yes I'm on a Jacob Elordi kick lol*
The Piscean energy, known for its depth, intuition, and spiritual inclinations, resonates with the artistic and creative life he led in Los Angeles. It implies that Jacob's current life is a continuation of that journey, bringing forward lessons, talents, and unresolved quests. The unexpected shifts and dramatic changes he experiences, especially in high-profile relationships and his unique personal style, are echoes of the past. They are invitations to explore deeper layers of his soul, to understand the complexities of human relationships, and to embrace the artistic and intuitive gifts he has carried over from that past life.
I believe he was deeply rooted in the arts and culture scene of Los Angeles during The Golden Age of Hollywood (1920s-1950s). Not merely a spectator, but a creator, a mover in the vibrant world of creative expression. His career was marked by an innovative spirit, likely intertwined with the burgeoning film industry, which was flourishing in Los Angeles during this period. His work was more than a job; it was a calling, a way to leave an indelible mark on the world, merging artistic vision with the palpable energy of the city.
His face reflected determination and intelligence, with sharp, possibly deep-set eyes. These eyes, a dark hue, would have conveyed depth and insight. His eyebrows might have been prominent, lending an air of intensity to his expressions. His olive skin tone was influenced by a mix of ethnicities. He may have worn minimal jewelry, with a pocket watch being a very imporant staple in his every day life. His walk and posture likely exuded confidence and purpose, with a straight-backed, assertive manner of carrying himself.
However, there are a lot of set backs in his past life and a feeling of failure in his career. Confirmed by his South Node square his Midheaven. The early to mid-20th century was a time of significant social and cultural shifts. Adapting to these changes, especially in a diverse and dynamic city like Los Angeles, might not have always been easy. He could have found himself at odds with the evolving societal norms or struggled to find his place during times of change. Like many in the creative fields, financial stability might have been a challenge. There could have been periods of financial hardship, where sustaining his artistic endeavors or maintaining a certain lifestyle became difficult.

So I know no one’s probably gonna give two shits but I just wanna post this just for the hell of it.
So the other night while I was in bed about to go to sleep, I decided to make this edit. A few seconds after I posted it to TikTok, I hear a bug of some sort near me. I turn on my phone flashlight and lo and behold a ladybug was on my wall next to my bed.
I start crying immediately because I knew it was David coming to say hello. I’m someone who believes in spirits and signs and all that jazz, and this isn’t the first sign he’s sent me, trust me when I saw I’ve heard from him a lot and I am forever grateful, but it’s one’s like these that just get me crying happy tears and the feeling is overwhelming and incredible.
Ladybugs are a sign from Heaven (if you believe in that sort of stuff like me) and so I just knew it was David and he was so sweet for stopping by and saying hello. I thanked him and then went to bed.
I’ve gotten other signs from him, some big, some small, but this one honestly impacted me the most. I’m not sure why. I guess the timing of it was just surreal.
But it’s a night I’ll never forget.
Thank you David. Love you ❤️

I'm new to your blog hiii 😊 This is cuz of your music fic post, this is not me requesting I just simply must gush about this because I love music and there are some musicians imo that just hit so right with Jason (*cough* Matt Maeson)
Anyways here's some songs that I think have serious tremors of Jason Todd running through them 🎵 ❤
🎵Halestorm: Back from the Dead (this one is self explanatory lol)
🎵The Pretty Reckless: Got so High/ Standing at the Wall (side note~their latest album Death By Rock N Roll is so good and so sad)
🎵Eminem: Drug Ballad/ Never Love Again (don't worry these are milder Em lyrics cuz we all know some of his word choices are vomit inducing but these are basically simultaneously love songs to the drugs but also a cautionary tale against them)
🎵Avril Lavigne: Fall to Pieces/ Nobody's Home (I just think they fit for Jason esp nobody's home)
🎵 Matt Maeson: Dancing After Death/ The Hearse/ Tread on Me/ Go Easy/ Cringe/ Me and My Friends Are Lonely/ Mr. Rattlebone/ Grave Digger
(I motherfucking love this man's music 😢💘 lyrically mostly everything describes Jason. I LOVE the line in Me and My Friends Are Lonely "The city breathes when I do not" > that is so Gotham and Jason and Gotham and Robin and Gotham and Redhood. In Mr. Rattlebone the lyrics "I am the driver. I am the shadow. I am the hearse" welp 😢🙃 The opening of Grave Digger oh my days "I can't run to you Father, I need love". Anyway I'm gonna shush now because I am getting carried away lol but hope you don't me spaming you with all this
Hey!! Uh, I love this???? lmao I love hearing songs that relate to my favorite characters!! I definitely made a playlist here with all of these songs and I'm gonna add to it for songs that just scream Jason dkfhgdf I will be 100% listening to all of these and I actually really enjoy Matt Maeson's voice so that's so perfect??????
I'm so sorry but this is me reading "The city breathes when I do not."
Tumblr media
Look, ANYTHING relating to daddy issues screams Jason to me and I nearly lose my fucking mind every single time. It reminds me of that one quote that's like "Growing up and seeing your parents' flaws is like losing your religion. I don't believe in God. I don't believe in my father either." This will be the first song I listen to omg
You can always come and ramble to me about music and/or Jason I love all types of music and I love Jason so I am always here lmao
And since you gave me some awesome recs, I'm gonna give you a few fkghfd:
Left Behind by The Plot In You. Look, it is one of my FAVORITE songs (is it my most played of the year?? Probably lmao it's in my top most played of all time and it came out in Feb lmao and I know I clocked over 60k minutes of music this year). But, when I listen to it, I relate it to Jason and Bruce's dynamic with lines like "Just know, all the sacrifice had robbed me of my time" and "I left behind, everything you killed inside" Landon screaming the lyrics makes me wanna CRY you can hear the pain in his voice and that's just very Jason Todd to me lmao
Deep End by I Prevail. It's such a good song?????? (I used in a fanedit and they liked it on TikTok) but my mom knows every word because she has to deal with me and brother playing it lmao but the WHOLE chorus is super Jason coded "So I made friends with all my demons. Let 'em sink their teeth in. Got used to the feeling of letting it go. So give me something to believe in or throw me in the deep end. It all feels the same with your eyes closed. So you can throw me in the deep end."
And Hollow - Lo's Version by Lo Spirit. I found him on TikTok (I swear I am not on that often??) and he's an INCREDIBLE vocalist. But this song is his best imo (followed by Good Enough and Wild Things (my beloved)) but this song is perfect for Jason. I mean, in Titans, he literally says there's a poison in him. It's perfect!! "Maybe somethings wrong with me. Maybe I was meant to sit and wait." and "Why do I, why do I feel so hollow? Hollow, hollow. Try to hide from my mind, but it follows."

Yungatita’s 7 weeks, 3 days, and 27 million streams
Tumblr media
Now, I try not to focus exclusively on viral internet songs, but this one grew on me. Yungatita, the LA musician behind everyone’s favorite TikTok-serial-killer-slideshow song, has created a sleeper hit with “7 Weeks and 3 Days.” Released on their EP Over You in 2020, the song started gaining traction after an initial post in September of 2021 plugging the song online. It exploded in the late summer becoming the background noise to pensive thoughts, regrets, posts yearning for understanding, and general angst. Various playlists on Spotify have song lyrics for the title, such as “When we met I just knew that I already loved you” and “All my friends say fuck you but I can’t even help but love you.” Bottom line? We love this song.
There’s something to be said about the project, which is written, sung, and produced by Valentina Zapata (with the exception of one song, “Indie Dream Boy” co-written with bandmate Ernie Gutierrez). The playing is imperfect - human. The recording steers towards lo-fi and is simple, sincere, grainy, standing out from the rest of the EP. Zapata does this thing when they sing where they don’t chew on their vowels - no “oiesss” or “aiied” or “uaiiiss” to be heard, a trend in music that genuinely kills me. Zapata sings casually, sadly, and sweetly. There is no bullshit. The songwriting, which is simple without being bland, expresses remorse and confusion with relatable lyrics that appeal to the heartbroken. It’s an earworm for sure, what with the driving melody that is the backbone of the song and lines easy to sing along to.
“7 Weeks and 3 Days” is undeniably catchy and unearths the doting sad-girl in me. I unabashedly relate to the moody posts and playlists, and I love Yungatita for it. I deeply admire the song’s organic journey, where people just… liked and shared, in true DIY spirit. The song will inevitably get bigger, which it deserves, and I will sit here at home waiting for them to come back to my city (which I regretfully missed out on last year). See you someday, Yungatita!

James Corden: the 2022 Ellen
It’s not been a terribly good week to be British, has it? It’s been pandemonium in the country itself and one of Britain’s more famous exports has been making a disgrace of himself. I speak of James Corden, of course. The comedian, an English immigrant in LA, has been making headlines for some egg-ceptionally mean-spirited behaviour. He turned up to eat at Balthazar, a fancy New York restaurant, and was nasty to the waitstaff, according to Balthazar’s owner, Keith McNally. In one incident he was extremely mean after he found a hair in his meal. In another he became apocalyptic because the staff got his wife’s order of an egg yolk omelet wrong. There was a little bit of egg white in it apparently and we can’t be having that can we?
McNally, who perhaps sensed a good opportunity for some free PR, did not hold back his thoughts on Corden. In an Instagram post he banned the comedian from his restaurant and called him “a tiny Cretin of a man” and “the most abusive customer to my Balthazar servers since the restaurant opened 25 years ago”. Still, that abuse was quickly forgiven after Corden apparently called up McNally to apologize. “Anyone magnanimous enough to apologize to a deadbeat layabout like me (and my staff) doesn’t deserve to be banned from anywhere,” McNally later wrote. Dude, apologizing isn’t magnanimous; it’s the absolute least someone can do!
The story should really have ended there but Corden decided to keep it going by telling the New York Times he hadn’t “done anything wrong, on any level”. Corden said: “I feel so zen about the whole thing. Because I think it’s so silly. I just think it’s beneath all of us.”
It’s not beneath me, mate. I understand that this is just some silly celebrity gossip and there are more important things to be worried about in the world but that’s precisely why I am so deeply invested in the Corden drama. When the world is falling apart, celebrity gossip provides welcome relief. And there’s a lot of Corden gossip out there. As soon as McNally unleashed on Corden the floodgates opened and lots of stories about Corden being “a tiny Cretin of a man” emerged. Becky Habersberger, who is married to a member of the Try Guys, shared a TikTok video about how she witnessed Corden yell at a busboy in Los Feliz. People started sharing a Popbitch story about how Corden had once ignored his crying baby for the entirety of a flight and left his wife to deal with the kid (grounds for murder). Everyone remembered that time he was seen cozying up to Sean Spicer at an Emmys party. And the time he was rude to Sir Patrick Stewart.
The parallels between Ellen DeGeneres, who fell from grace in 2020 after everyone decided she was a horrible person and her on-screen bubbly persona was a scam, are not hard to see. Indeed there are plenty of people who are already calling Corden the “Male Ellen”. Corden may be the male Ellen but, unlike Ellen, I’m not sure that the allegations he is a nasty piece of work are going to put a massive dent in his career. Women, after all, are consistently held to higher ethical standards than men and more harshly punished for the same transgressions. Studies have found that people react better to anger from a man than they do from a woman. A 2008 study, for example, called “Can an Angry Woman Get Ahead?” found that “male and female evaluators conferred lower status on angry female professionals than on angry male professional.” The study found that “whereas women’s emotional reactions were attributed to internal characteristics (eg, ‘she is an angry person,’ ‘she is out of control’), men’s emotional reactions were attributed to external circumstances.”
Anyway, I don’t know where Corden’s career will go next but I do hope that he is on his best behaviour from now on. The English don’t need any more embarrassment.
Russian feminists help men avoid draft
The day after Russia invaded Ukraine, 57 feminist groups in Russia banded together to form a group called the “Feminist Anti-war Resistance” or FAS. The movement is active in 100 cities in Russia and abroad and has been helping men avoid conscription. Like Black Lives Matter, FAS is decentralized. “This makes the FAS more adaptable and allows for new tactics and strategies,” a political scientist explained to DW. “The Hydra has several heads, and if you cut one off, 10 new ones grow back.”
What a pregnancy actually looks like before 10 weeks
This eye-opening piece from the Guardian has been going deservedly viral.
The woman hunting down revenge porn
Mia Landsem spends hours a day (unpaid) helping victims of revenge porn track down and remove their images from the internet. I would say she’s doing God’s work but she’s actually doing the work that highly-paid tech executives and politicians should be doing.
Female leaders are leaving companies at the highest rate ever
About 10.5% of female leaders (defined as those in senior management and above) left their company in 2021 compared with 9% of male leaders: the highest rate of voluntary departures since McKinsey started collecting data in 2017. Burnout and the pandemic are largely to blame.
America has a Black sperm donor shortage
Black men account for less than 2% of sperm donors at cryobanks, the Washington Post reports. “The severe shortage is forcing Black women who need donor sperm into a painful choice: Choose a donor of another race and raise a biracial child or try to buy sperm from unregulated apps and online groups.
How a $1,900 stroller became a metaphor for motherhood
“The baby stroller is only the most visible symbol of the ethos of consumer capitalism that saturates American pregnancy and parenthood,” writes Amanda Parrish Morgan in this fascinating piece.
Why Bolivia’s lawmakers are 50% women
Quotas requiring half of all party nominees are female were introduced in 1997 when just 9% of the country’s national parliament were women. Now that requirement is part of the constitution.
The week in pawtriarchy
One upside to the brouhaha in Britain is that Larry the Cat, who serves as Chief Mouser of No. 10 Downing Street, has been getting the attention and adoration he deserves. The 15-year-old tabby has now outlasted four prime ministers. “The King has asked me to become Prime Minister because this nonsense has gone on long enough,” Larry the Cat wrote in a viral tweet hours before Truss announced her resignation. Britain has officially gone to the dogs: time to bring in a cat.

Natalie Del Carmen Reflects On Unheard Conversations in “You Weren’t Even Listening”
Tumblr media
Rising singer-songwriter Natalie Del Carmen shares her new single, “You Weren’t Even Listening,” a track that promises to be as long-winded and lyrically rich as it is fun and flippant. The Los Angeles native, known for her acute exploration of the folk-Americana genre interlaced with pop, has once again joined forces with celebrated Billboard chart-topping producer Zack Burke (Blackbear, Berner) to create a song that embodies the essence of a light-hearted, albeit lengthy, musical story. “You Weren’t Even Listening” is now available to stream and download. “You Weren’t Even Listening” stems from Natalie Del Carmen’s desire to reflect the often-overlooked monologues in relationships through her music. The song captures the poignant moment when the realization dawns that despite saying everything, perhaps nothing was truly heard. But it’s not all somber; Natalie Del Carmen infuses the song with her characteristic wit and playful spirit, making the music resonate with a joyful undertone. The track is an invitation to look beyond the surface of communication, to find humor in misunderstanding, and to embrace the reality that sometimes, even when the listening stops, life goes on. Natalie Del Carmen’s lyrics are clever and insightful, wrapped in the warmth of her embrace, with a delivery that’s both confident and endearing. Reflecting on her collaboration with Burke, she shares, “Working with Zack is always a blast. He’s the kind of producer who really listens and brings every idea to life. It’s like throwing a party where every guest is an idea, and the best one stays for dinner.” A storyteller at heart, Natalie Del Carmen began her musical journey at the tender age of 8 and has not looked back since. Her music is a constant in her life, a “busy body” that never ceases to inspire and move with her through life’s chapters. Now, at the age of 22, with a solid foundation and a clear vision, Natalie Del Carmen is poised to leave an indelible mark on the Americana scene. Fresh off the success of her debut album, Bloodline, and her EP, Tandem Songs, she continues to charm listeners with her unique blend of folk, soul, and pop sensibility. The single is a testament to her growth as an artist and her unwavering dedication to her craft, which she honed while earning her Bachelor’s degree in Music from Berklee College of Music and continues to refine with her trusty companion – her grandfather’s 1930s banjo. “You Weren’t Even Listening” is now available for your ears and hearts on streaming platforms worldwide. Dive into the story, tap your feet to the rhythm, and maybe find a bit of your own truth between the lines, and keep up to date with Natalie Del Carmen via her website NatalieDelCarmen.com, Instagram @natalie.del.carmen, and TikTok @nataliedelcarmen.
