request : can I request headcanons for akaashi with a reader who is really clumsy and ditzy and he always has to take care of her and he's always worried about her and stuff? — sage, @akakeiiji
a/n : thank you so much for requesting lovie!! it means a lot especially as i’m new to writing here- i really loved this concept and i ended up writing an imagine as well as the headcanons... i haven’t really written about keiji before and it was really fun!! i hope you enjoy lovie!
you and keiji probably first met when you bumped into him on his way to practice- you fell over and akaashi, being the gentleman we all know he is, helped you up whilst you apologised
you both probably only have a few classes together but after that moment, you both were rather curious about each other
you tend to be at practice a lot but akaashi tends to refuse your help- he doesn’t want you to get hurt especially on the days where bokuto is particularly enthusiastic... practice can be rather
you are kind of insecure about zoning out but you can’t help it- sometimes your thoughts are just so much more interesting than your classes so you seem very clumsy
but whenever you do get hurt, keiji is so sweet and patient and helps clean up any cuts and bruises you may have had, no matter how small!!
‘you don’t want to get these infected darling, no matter how small.’
to be honest, keiji finds you incredibly endearing and cute
you get confused rather easily so he takes his time explaining things and he just loves your expression when you’re concentrating because he can tell you’re working really hard
you’re the kind of couple that treat each other often and just put your all into your relationship. you may not be the most affectionate in public but akaashi is always holding your hand or had an arm around you so you’re always close
and you’re such a cute, supportive couple!!!
you were always a bit…. how do i say this… lost. not in the sense that you didn’t know what was going on but you always seemed like you were somewhere far-away. somewhere nicer than the physics labs at fukurodani high school. not that they were bad per se - the neat wooden benches and shining cupboards in which things they couldn’t even pronounce were of high quality- there were just a number of places that you would much rather be at that moment in time. the lesson was drawing to a close whilst you doodled in the margin of the page they were working on, the words of the teacher leaving your ears as soon as they entered them. as soon as the bell rang, signalling the end of the lesson and the end of the day, you stood up and took your time to clear your things away.
when you were lost in their thoughts, it was clear. it was almost like someone had hung a thin veil over your eyes and one of your hands was always occupied- either clicking a retractable pen or fiddling with a strand of your hair. if you were walking, it would seem like you were taking in the surroundings. keiji akaashi had once assumed that that was what you were doing. and it did take him a while that a tap on the shoulder wasn’t enough to distract them.
perhaps that was what had drawn keiji akaashi to you. your mystery? no, that wasn’t it. the pure curiosity one has when they fully understand a person. that was what drew him to you. but what determines the length at which you understand a person.
in one of his literature lessons, his teacher had made a point that had stuck with him for a long time.
‘the human,’ the teacher had said, ‘is just like a machine. now, before you tell me that machines don’t have the capacity to think, which i hope you know i am fully aware of, i wanted to give you this analogy to truly understand what it is to be human and develop the characters in your writing. just like machines have cogs and screws and levers that do certain things, aspects of our lives do the same. our emotions and attitudes are the cogs and our reactions are the processes the cogs go through to function. if your audience is able to guess the kind of situation they were in before the story started, then only can you say that you have accomplished the making of truly human characters. ’
keiji thought this was the case for everyone- sure, there’d be a few surprises here and there, but for the most part, people reacted as he expected. take bokuto for example. the captain of the volleyball team tended to be turbulent in times of what he perceived as ‘failure’, particularly during games, but keiji believed as long as you knew him well enough, you would know how to react to help him improve.
before he knew you, it was almost like he had encountered an error in the system or a blank page in a novel. he didn’t understand, even when you were friends before their relationship. some things still caught him by surprise. for example, the previous week, you had come to volleyball practice with multiple tupperware boxes full of brownies. the team had been pleased- perhaps too excited- but when keiji asked you why you had baked them, you only responded with a soft ‘i had an exam’ before almost tripping over a small pile of volleyballs.
maybe it was because he hadn’t really met anyone like you before, but keiji really didn’t understand. baking when you could be preparing for the exam? he found it rather endearing despite it making no sense whatsoever to him.
today, he saw you leaving one of the labs. noting that for once you had noticed him raise his hand in greeting, their pace increasing as you walked towards the boy, dodging past clusters of people. you bumped into a few people as keiji approached, his hand out a little too late before bending down to meet your gaze as you picked up your stuff.
“in a rush as usual are we, love?” he asks, a slight grin appearing on his face as he helped them up.
“shush.” you responded, dusting down their clothes before they met keiji’s gaze once again, “how was your day?”
keiji shrugged in response, taking their hand in his before walking down together.
“don’t you have practice?”
“after the match on the weekend, we decided to take a day off practice.”
“so you’re free?”
“all yours.” keiji responded before gently pulling you to the side to avoid another collision.
“i’m sorry.” you blurted out, cheeks heavily flushed as the two of you left the building.
“for what?”
“it just feels like… most of the time i’m tripping over things or getting hurt or confusing you!”
your abrupt comments made the boy laugh which caused your cheeks to become warmer (if that was possible.)
“that’s nonsense.”
“no, it’s the truth. i don’t like worrying you because you already have so much on your plate with your studies and volleyball and-”
“well, if it makes you feel any better, your flaws are just as lovable as your perfections. i see no difference.”
“keiji!” you exclaimed, a small frown on your face as you stopped walking.
“what? Isn’t that a compliment?”
goodness, sometimes that small side smile of his frustrated you- particularly when he was being so smooth with his words. out of the blue, the boy gently pulled you closer, your hands resting on his chest as he kissed the top of your head.
“why…?”
“... we were blocking the way of some people.”
“you could have just sugar coated it- where are all the cute comments now?!”
“my lips are sealed.” he chuckled, pulling you closer as you almost stumble once again, “quite literally.” he said, his voice softer before he gently pressed a kiss to your lips.
your slight frustration melted into dormancy for the time being, your arms tied around his neck. for if there is one thing keiji akaashi is certain of, is that he looks forward to learn and love all your ‘flaws’ that remain as perfections in his eyes.

(confession): YAKU MORISUKE —— “A SWEET ACCIDENT”
you and yaku have been friends since forever. you were close friends since you were younger so you know each other pretty well
the two of you used to hang out most days every summer when you were kids- eating ice cream and enjoying the sun
now, of course, yaku is a very busy volleyball player! and he has training camp during the summer
so, you end up volunteering at camp- preparing meals with the managers and buying ice cream for the end of camp barbecue
you enjoy being at camp- it’s nice talking to the people from other schools (especially the managers as it’s funny to hear what the team members get up to)
you enter the dining hall, balancing a few boxes of dessert on top of each other, your tongue slightly out in concentration as you slowly approach the main counter. yaku and lev approach you, the duo ignoring your reassuring comments that you could carry them on your own.
“i knew that y/n,” lev comments, “but lover boy over here, couldn’t help rescue this damsel in distress-”
yaku glares at him but you laugh it off, “if morisuke knows anything about me, it’s that i’m not a damsel.” you say, meeting yaku’s gaze
lev makes a sound like “ooh~” before walking off to place his tray to the side. yaku shakes his head as lev walks off and glances towards you.
“look- it’s your summer break too, y/n. you didn’t have to come and volunteer at a training camp full of over-energetic boys.”
you shrug in response a small smile on your face, “it’s much more interesting that whatever i’d do at home. furthermore, the things your poor managers have to deal with-”
“we’re not as bad when lev isn’t fooling around-”
“give the kid a break.”
the two of you rest the desserts on the counter as you begin laying them out, taking the lids off of boxes as yaku takes one, a sly grin on his face. you give him a look.
“you wouldn’t give an extra to your favourite volleyball team member?”
“well mori, you’re not kuroo-”
“ouch.”
“now, how can i trust you whilst i go out and get more boxes?”
“i’ll just come and help.” yaku says, taking a bite out of one of the cupcakes you had ordered.
you don’t know whether to pout or smile at his actions. the two of you leave the dining hall (you notice lev making kissy faces from the corner of your eye).
when the two of you arrive outside, yaku notices how careful
“you’re acting as if the cupcakes are made of glass.”
“i made them! of course i would.”
yaku glances at you, in shock. “you made this for me?!”
“for you and the over-energetic volleyball boys, yes. what did you expect?”
“why would you waste your time on that?”
“mori, it was fine, i swear.” you respond, an uncertain smile on your face. it was obvious- couldn’t he see that?
yaku seems touched, a small smile on his face, “that’s why i like you, y/n.” he comments softly, not realising the words until you look at him blankly. you can’t help but smile at the shocked expression on his face.
“you can forget about that- oh god-”
“yaku has a crush~”
“it was an accident- i wasn’t meant to say it-”
you step in front of him, a smile on your face, “well, i like you too so don’t take that sweet accident back.” you say softly, watching the panic on his face turn into shock and finally into the soft blush that now adorns his cheeks.

a/n: hello wid lovie!! i hope you’re doing well and are hydrated <33 happy valentine’s to you too in advance!! also if you want to see a reference to what painting sugawara was looking at, i based it off of ‘the red roofs’ by camille pissarro! i really enjoyed writing this and it lowkey reminds me of the end of ‘whisper of the heart’ (which is my favourite ghibli film!)
(confession): SUGAWARA KOUSHI —— “YOU ARE MORE BEAUTIFUL THAN ANY PIECE OF ART.”
we all know that sugawara is just an incredibly sweet person
so it was no surprise that he offered to take you to an art gallery after quite a few hours studying together
you hesitate because he’s already done so much today!!
he paid for hot drinks for the two of you and he arranged this study date as a whole
but he assures you that he’d love to have the company so you agree
the art gallery, for the most part, was empty. you noticed the confused pout on suga’s face as the two of you enter the gallery.
“is something wrong?” you ask softly
he glances at you in surprise before smiling, “no- i’m jut surprised that not many people are at the event. i mean- the art is beautiful.”
you agree, nodding, “well... let’s enjoy it. on behalf of everyone who’s missing out.” you respond, as you glance back at the walls.
you miss the smile he gives you- an action made of pure endearment. the two of you walk, mostly in silence aside from the sound of the pitter-patter of the rain. you share comments as you walk past pieces- laughing at some pieces but pausing in disbelief when you pass one that seems to speak to you.
as you walk, sugawara tugs on the sleeve of your woolen coat. you glance at him in slight confusion and notice how he stares at the piece. you move to stand beside him and you note how silent he is, his hand still absent mindedl-y playing with the sleeve of your coat.
you take a look at the painting yourself. it’s a landscape based in a forest yet the trees bear no leaves. puddles of autumn leaves adorn the ground. yet the centrepiece is a row of back-to-back houses, each with a brilliant scarlet roof and built of warm yellow bricks.
“it sounds silly,” he comments quietly, “but it seems so familiar? not in the sense that it’s something that i’ve had... it’s more something i wish to have.”
you glance at him and he meets your gaze, a rosy flush on his cheeks, “this is going to sound so ridiculous...” he stammers, “but in the future, that’s the kind of life i’d like to lead. with someone else.”
you smile at that, squeezing his hand in reassurance, “that person will be very lucky.”
he laughs nervously, “y/n... i’ve been meaning to tell you this for quite some time. the time was never right- the others would interrupt or i’d have practice.”
you give him a smile, “you can tell me anything- i won’t bite, koushi.” you tease.
he seems to relax at that, taking a breath before running a hand through his hair to distract himself.
“i like you- and i’ve liked you ever since i had that conversation with you in the library about- well, you know what it was about and i’ve been meaning to tell you ever since but i’ve been such a coward-”
“koushi!” you interrupt before glancing at him, the red stain on your own cheeks almost brighter than his, “calm down.” you say, taking his hands

“now, it would have been awkward if i didn’t like you back.” you respond
sugawara glances at you in shock as you laugh and wrap your arms around him. he returns the embrace, kissing the top of your head gently.
“y/n, you are more lovely than any of the pieces in this room.” he whispers to you
you laugh into the hug, holding him closer, his embrace as warm as you expected the yellow brick houses with red roofs to be.

(confession): TENDOU SATORI —— “WE STILL HAVE TIME.”
if there’s anything we know about tendou, is that he does what he feels like doing- his feelings determine a lot of the choices he makes and his actions can be something completely out of the blue
so it's safe to say that you did not see the confession coming.
like not at all
whenever the two of you hang out, tendou always has an arm resting around your shoulder and messes your hair a lot but the next second he might run over to talk to ushijima so he's very unpredictable (but lovable all the same)
despite tendou saying he would give up volleyball after high school, he continues to go to the gym and practice all the same. he still reads volleyball weekly. part of you wonder if he thinks about the loss about often. you remain close to him and watch him at practice often. he seems unbothered by the loss- still his witty, energetic self as he teases the other members and receives one sentence responses from ushijima.
after training, the two of you tend to walk down to the bus stop. the two of you catch up on your days- the conversation is choppy as the two of you jump from subject to the next subject. tendou decided that surely a confession should slip into a conversation all the same.
"so, y/n." he begins, just as the bus stop appears into your view, "we only have a few months left of high school."
you hum in response. it's scary to think that these walks home will be a thing of the past in the next few months, "it's gone much faster than i ever thought it would."
tendou nods, "the last few weeks have been full of surprises."
"yeah... is this about the game?"
"with karasuno? no, not really. i've just had a lot on my mind."
"you've done really well. it was a close game-"
tendou laughs, a sound like a tall glass being filled with sparkling water, "y/n, i told you this isn't about the game."
you watch as satori tendou, the boy who never hesitates, the boy who remains confident at all times, falls silent.
"look, i like you-"
you're the one to fall silent now.
"that was sudden-"
"i don't need a reaction now," he assures, a grin on his face, "i just wanted to let you know. whilst we still have the time."
you stop in front of the bus stop. tendou raises his hand- his way of saying goodbye to you after a packed conversation. you hesitate but before stepping forward, tip-toeing slightly to peck him on the cheek. he gives you a confused look and clears his throat, hoping to god that his cheeks aren't as red as he thinks they are.
"y-you're not too late. we still have time."

this couple. is so enviable oh my goodness.
the two of you are really cute!! you’re the only person who is able to make akaashi all soft
he likes it when you call him by his first name. he really likes how you say it- “keiji~”
he’s surprisingly shy at first when it comes to your relationship but you couldn’t ask for anyone better because he drowns you in love after some time
he likes receiving hugs from you- he never really thought that that would be something that comforted him but it really does. he likes how you snuggle into the crook of his neck and he holds your hand in one of his whilst he reads
he uses a few pet names. and the team always teases him about him. particularly bokuto. he’s very loud about it.
“AWW AKAASHI- IS SAGE YOUR DARLING? YOUR SWEETHEART? YOUR LOVE?”
akaashi pouts a lot when he wants affection. it’s a signal for you to go and give him a hug
he likes staying up late with you- watching the moon creep out from her hiding place whilst the two of you watch- he’s starstruck by her beauty and your own!
he’s incredibly proud of you!! and he always lets you know when the two of you are sleepy

###JAICHI HEADCANONS
soo... let me just point out that you and daichi are like inseparable
in the sense that you probably walk to and from school together, he texts you on his breaks at practice
he probably talks about you a lot, especially to the third years. and it makes suga and asahi really happy!! because you really help daichi just like
but let me just say, both of your late night conversations are incredibly chaotic.
like it’s either the two of you simping over each other or having an existential crisis. no in between.
“omg what if the meteor that killed the dinosaurs was a ufo and wE are the aliens-”
your couple song is ‘never not’ by lauv. let me explain myself- this is a beautiful song but to me, it is particularly sad due to the use of the past tense. daichi however, always sings it in the present tense. (ugh, the english literature student in me jumped out with this analysis) he completely changes the impact of the song- he makes it so hopeful for the future. during the hard times, he reminds you of how much you help each other and it makes you excited for the future, knowing he’s the one!
you also like staying out to see the stars together!! it’s really cute, because you’re both slightly sleepy and it’s a bit cold but the other’s company during one of the most beautiful times of day
you go on late night drives and scream sing in the car
and when you’re returning home the two of you just crying whilst listening to lorde
also i feel like when daichi is tired he does this thing that i do
like he just turns towards you with open arms and goes:

and flops onto you
it’s really endearing. and you give him hugs because sleepy daichi and daichi in general deserves cuddles
also daichi loves lifting you into his arms. and cuddling you close. like after every single game the two of you do the really cute run up to each other, and he lifts you into his arms because yes!! you’re his darling jake!!

on the outside the two of you seem pretty chill with your relationship- only once you look closer you realise how sweet the two of you are
when he’s on his breaks, he’s always absent-mindedly playing with your hands and when he hears you during a game he just looks at you with so much love- hIS SMILE WHEN HE LOOKS AT YOU-

you probably have a handshake solely to show off that you two are the best and afterwards kageyama just struts off back to the other members being all ‘look at me being the best boyfriend~’

i have definitely changed in the last five years. i’ve become more sensitive but i’ve also really improved! five years ago i was in primary school (that’s a weird thought-) and i’d like to think that little liya would be proud of what i’ve achieved? my ability to make more friends has definitely improved. also think little liya would want me to be kinder to myself! so... i guess i’ve changed positively but also a bit negatively!

i guess the fact to be kind? my parents always raised me and reminded me to chose kindness. so i’m able to empathise easily and show kindness, particularly when i’m upset.

ramadan! i’m a muslim and it’s one of my favourite time of year because it makes me feel really comfortable- aside from lockdown this year, ramadan is something that never changes in our family? we always stay connected and do morning and night prayers together and my mum and i cook together- there’s still a few more months until ramadan but it’s something i’m excited for. OH ALSO SCHOOL IS STARTING IN PERSON IN 2 WEEKS!! i’m really excited to see everyone- but i think i’m the only one who is excited about it tho-
19; most important thing in my life?
i think at this moment in time, it’s safety more than anything. i mean what would you expect in the middle of a pandemic- but also family and friends. really basic answer i know, but i’ve been able to reconnect with old friends, make new friends and become closer with my family and they remind me so much of everything i love about life. also love. because it inspires me and i feel like everyone deserves it.

doll; how do you like to dress?
i have two main styles? first is the wide-leg trouser, decorative blouse pairing which i wear quite often. so and then there’s the more elegant??? style. a lot of layering (i don’t show much skin!) and i love wearing simple pieces of gold or silver jewellery. to be honest i do need to do some more clothes shopping as i’m donating a lot of my smaller clothes and i need actual clothes to wear-
jiggly; what do you usually do on the weekends?
my weekends aren’t all that interesting to be honest, particularly in lockdown. i wake up quite early for the weekend (around 6-7:30) and after i do some reading and all the morning stuff, i study until around 1pm? and then i just focus on resting. i do a lot of writing, art journalling and planning for the week ahead. i sometimes learn a dance or bake or make dinner if i’m bored. so yeah, my weekends are very chill and slow unless i have work i’ve procrastinated or i have work experience!
prinky; how do i relieve stress?
it’s not the best way but... i cry? i have an assigned crying day at this point it’s not healthy. so i tend to just rant and have a little bit of a cry. then, i usually make myself a hot tea or another kind of hot drink and watch something that will make me feel better. or i’ll just go and annoy my family and ask them for hugs.
i am also a stress baker and the fact that my mum is starting a cake business is not helping as there is an endless supply of ingredients coming my way. so whenever i’m upset i like to bake or cook because at least i have some sort of control over things then.
