I finally listened to the latest episode of the silt verses ("latest" meaning "it came out in january, I've just been really busy") and I don't want to be negative but I liked faulkner better when he was unhinged. No more pseudo-therapy or painfully honest conversations for these characters, they need to march to their doom being lonely, unfulfilled, and tragic.

#I am half joking but I do think that ''I went back to my childhood home where my father is losing his mind''#''and I got absolutely no clarity. my ranking of The Bridge by Billy Joel, just how i'm feeling right now

1) Getting Closer - this one just has such good vibes, i really love it, but there's not much specifics i can point out besides like there's a bunch in the main part of the song i love and definitely like the last 30 seconds are so nice

2) A Matter of Trust - yeah with this one too it's not like a super strong knowing it's one of my favorites, i just have fun with it, and i really like how it starts

3) Code of Silence ft. Cyndi Lauper - this one hits pretty close for me and it always makes me think a lot, i really like that, and yeah i really like this song

4) Temptation - i think this song is funny lol and i also really like how it sounds

5) Modern Woman - i also think this one is funny lol, and i always have fun with it

6) Big Man on Mulberry Street - i really like parts of it but overall it doesn't stick out to me too much, like i feel like i have a vague sense of what it sounds like yknow? cus it doesn't stick too much when i listen to it

7) This is the Time - has a lot of really nice moments, just overall not an absolute favorite

8) Running on Ice - yeah this is a good solid song, i do like it a lot, it just doesn't stick out in my mind very much

9) Baby Grand ft. Ray Charles - i still really like it, it's just not my favorite. it's funny when they're just talking to each other though (like that Michael Jackson song where he and Paul McCartney are just talking to each other at one point lmao) (right, The Girl Is Mine, that's what it's called)

you can tell i'm too deep into shakespeare studies because i've started developing a mental list of plays that are not good, not bad, but interestingly bad maybe on purpose in a way that makes them somehow loop back around to being good

#the two main ones at the moment being #all's well that ends well #and henry iv part 2 #listen all's well is bad at being a satisfying comedy but it's bad at that on PURPOSE. to me <3 #it's a comedy directed by female desire rather than male desire and helen is fighting tooth and nail not to let the genre break #despite doing things in a very unorthodox way #and bertram is trying soooooo hard to escape the ending but he cannot <3 #but does that make the ending happy? shakespeare voice idk man you decide #and 2h4 (to me) is like. here's how hollow the world is after hotspur died and took chivalry and honour with him #it's all just hollow carnivalesque parodies where there used to be heart #and in both of these cases i think that's really INTERESTING. even if the play isn't necessarily. good.#but i may just be too far into shakespeare loving territory where i'm like 'even the plays that are bad are good actually'#mine
