Thinking about how one of the very first things we see Suzaku do is cover Lelouch's nose and mouth when he thinks that the 'poison gas' that's about to release and not protecting himself at all. Like no hesitation, pure instinct. Instantly willing to sacrifice himself to save his friend. Which is why it infuriates me so much that people portray him as just a heartless monster. He cares so much, so much that it is actively killing him and always putting him in harms way...He sees himself as such an evil cruel man that the only way he can justify being alive is help keeping his loved ones safe and happy. He's willing to die to make that happen,,, he feels like it's like one good thing he can do...Especially once he's given the 'Live' command. He wants to die so fucking bad, cause he feels so worthless and awful. And now that he can't do that he turns colder but he never ever loses that sense of love. That sense of caring,,,He feels so undeserving of genuine care and love because he can't even like grasp that concept because it just seems so impossible to him,,I love him, I love him so fucking much, I want to show him that he does deserve to be loved and and cared for and cherished just like everyone else. And until he sees that I'm gonna love him enough for the both of us

His two children, back in Andor now. It hit him then that Elayne must have been the one to inform Mat about his whereabouts. He’s almost surprised it had taken her this long. He does show Mat around however. From where the sheep were, the horses, even a small shed where his father showed the little ones how to do woodwork. There on the doorsteps was his coat as well as that worn flute that he had gotten from Thom. “Tell me about everything?” Did he want to know? Would the pull of the world take over? Light, why had he been dreaming of Mat and Perrin lately? Was it an inevitable feeling? Something that was calling to him? He didn’t think that he could deal with that. “How’s everything...out there?” He asked once he turned around to face Mat again, dropping his hands to his sides. He even felt nervous standing there. He hadn’t really been expecting company.
