Man, idk if it's just me or not, but I was absolutely so excited to get the Lippy ~ I see others riding them around and they just look so NICE.
but then I buy one and realize that they're super bulky(like I feel like my horse needs a diet plan and exercise), the animations for them are kind of sloppy, and the reins clip through their shoulders.. 🙃

The last kingdom characters as star stable horses because I seem to have issues
Since the Gen 3 Lipizzaner came out I had to think of Aethelwold everytime I saw them. So today I decided to make a side by side comparison.
And then I started thinking about what kind of horse the other characters would be.
I think it's very fitting that Alfred is an English thoroughbred.
His bastard being the same race but a gen 2 horse makes this whole thing even better.
Edward however does not look like a English thoroughbred to me.
I have a few other characters as well, but Tumblr is complaining about the amount of pictures I'm trying to post. So I'll do a part two. (Nobody cares but whatever)

As Ysabel's new horse (which is apparently named Neapolitano) is not yet broken in, she brought him to the round-pen to get some lounge-work under his skin. He was being a star, and I was just having a lot of fun watching them.
"He is doing well," I commented with an appreciative nod.
"Yes, I am sure he will be a good riding horse at some point. Even if he is moving a little stiffly," she said, always the critic. But then again she was a vet, so maybe she knew better. Still I couldn't help but argue a little.
"You think so? He walks just fine, if you ask me," I told her, and shrugged.
"He is stiff, Narcisa, can't you see that? With your brilliant horsegirl eyes?" Her tone was angry, but all I heard was her calling me brilliant.
"I can see a lot of things with my brilliant eyes yes," I said back the words she had just used to describe me.
"Oh, shut up," she said, snorting then turning towards the stallion again. Then she began slowly tacking him up. Might be a little early to do that, so I told her so.
"You sure he is ready for that?" I interjected thoughtfully.
"Of course I am sure!" she said in an irritated tone, as she began walking him a little around the arena, "If you are only going to critize me, then leave us alone!"
"Okay, okay. I'm shutting up now," I lifted my arms in defense, and looked at them closely. I had quite a lot of experience in breaking in horses, but again it was her horse, she could do as she pleased.
Letting go of the gelding, giving him as much rope as possible the stallion began running wild. He bucked and jumped and cantered around her, as he was clearly not used to the sensation of having a saddle on his back. He didn't seem to notice the bit or the bridle though, so he might have been used to that.
"Wooooah," Ysabel told the stallion, as he just ran around and around in the round-pen.
I shook my head. This would not turn out well!
But oh boy I was wrong! After about 10 minutes of frantic running the stallion calmed down. He still trotted around the round-pen a little too fast, but he did so much calmer than to begin with.
"See?" she told me over the shoulder, though not taking her eyes off of the stallion.
"Yeah, yeah," I chuckled. Apparently she knew what she was doing. Damn.
Then I went out to see if our newest recident was okay in the pasture. Ysabel, that small woman, could apparently take care of herself, even if she was handling a big stallion.
This is EIEC Neelam, a chestnut Marwari mare with Rabicano. She was just such a beautiful soul, and BOY she can jump! She is enjoying life in the pasture though, looking at me curiously. But as soon as I entered the pasture, she ran away. Apparently she is a little nervous/shy, which I guess is fine. She just got here after all!

And now one of them had dared to mention your name so openly in his presence. Sure, they would notice you were gone, and say something. Scaramouche swore that his subordinates were only competent less than half the time because you were around.
"Do you want to make yourself useful to me, worm?" He hissed, pressing his foot down on the head of the minion who's face he was pressing into the dirt for daring to say your name, and hoped you came back soon, like he was implying that Scaramouche didn't miss you as much as his subordinates did. "Fucking find a way to fast forward time," He spat before stalking away to his office.
He really fucking missed you.
Scaramouche slammed the door to his office shut, and suddenly, there you were, sitting in his chair, tapping a pen against your lips thoughtfully.
"Hey there, sweets," You greeted, waving at him. "I hope you didn't cause anyone any trouble today."
Scaramouche scoffed, crossing his arms. "Don't be absurd. Where were you, anyways?" He hissed angrily.
His eyes went right to your legs as you crossed them. Your fingers tapped against some papers on his desk, fingers he thought would be better if they were tangled in his hair. "I went and test rode a new Lippizaner* for the Tsaritsa. He's a young colt, and really green, so she wants me to work with him a little."
Scaramouche kicked the chair, making it turn to face him. "At least you had the decency to greet me in something that gives me easy access," He said, his eyes racking over your legs, which were generously exposed to him by the short, black skirt you wore.
Dropping to his knees, Scaramouche spread your legs. He sank his teeth possessively into your thigh, making you whimper. He sucked a fold of skin into his mouth, grinding his teeth firmly against it, sucking a deep bruise.

Federico's 'Rufina' (Red), A Chestnut 'Tolfetano' Mare
Clay's newly acquired 'Leonida (Lion) a Black 'Sanfratellano' Stallion
Girasole (Sunflower) a buckskin draft horse mare introduced in chapter 37
Oriana (Gold) introduced in chapter 50, mother of Dante and Priscilla. She's a palomino.
And Priscilla (name taken from the bible, meaning 'ancient'), the newly born foal Desmond helped. She's a mahogany bay.

hi for totally no reason id love to know your takes on svsss characters as horse breeds PLUS mlp species... im a huge fan of when ppl draw ponies more horselike so i have been thinking a lot about how cool itd be to combine stylized horse pony bodies with the whimsy of unicorn / pegasus / earth pony divisions. and you are the person i respect the most when it comes to danmei horse combinations... i do not think anyone else could comprehend the magic in this concept

Ok here are my well-established breed headcanons based purely off vibes (because I don't think airplane would know enough about horses to get anywhere close to this detailed in PIDW canon):
- Shen Qingqiu: Perlino Akhal-Teke, the high maintenance it girl the moment the model
- Luo Binghe: Friesian, colloquially known as the most handsome horses with strong silhouettes and gorgeously famous curly black hair
- Shang Qinghua: Norwegian Fjord Horse, small and muscular light drafts with very cute faces
- Mobei Jun: Shire Horse, Extremely big and thicc boys
- Yue Qingyuan: Clydesdale, gentle giant and overall splendid fellas
- Liu Qingge and Mingyan: Lippizaners, iconic for their elegance and beauty with a history in cavalry
- Ning Yingying: Bashkir Curly Horse, just very cute tbh they're curly horses what else do you want
- Sha Hualing: Arabian Horse, sleek speedy and energetic with a very shl-like appearance imo
- Ming Fan: Thoroughbred, pedigreed shoe-in for success, somehow still loses to Binghe at every race
In terms of my little pony I will admit I'm not actually a huge mlp fan (long story short I watched the princess promenade movie and was terrified of spike for some reason) but @/selpuku has a great SV mlp au that I think of all the time where the cultivators are pegasi and demons are unicorns, sqq uses his wing as his fan it's just perfect. Of course regardless Binghe would be an alicorn. Ofc. I also posted this before I think but I think Shang Qinghua would also be an alicorn, but people only start noticing post canon because before that he wasn't in a safe enough environment to develop a horn and so just thought he was a pegasus, but when he gets his stuff sorted out and is happy with mbj he starts growing a little nubby horn!! Overall I don't think there's a way to go wrong with it though! Mlp aus are great and cringe is dead because horses fucking rock
