am i just so far gone with these two that i can barely correctly comprehend anything they do toward eachother as normal casual interaction anymore or was this actually topher being worried about abe

following on from this. not to always bring marc into everything (sorry marc) but if assen 2015 had happened against jorge, valentino would have very likely pulled something similar again imo. rather than what he actually did, which is approach marc almost immediately for a nice normal friendly handshake and backing off during the podium celebrations. should be noted that during laguna seca '08, valentino was very much committed to yapping at casey on the podium with the world's biggest smuggest grin on his face
partly that disparity is because jorge not marc was the direct title rival, partly it's because valentino was treating marc with kid gloves right until the second that he wasn't, which marc was seemingly entirely oblivious to. if anyone other than marc had said what he said in that presser, had then continued on with similar rhetoric during sachsenring, valentino would quite likely have gone nuclear. he's done it over less than that. his fondness for marc made him continue to exhibit uncharacteristic restraint... except that fondness unfortunately is what left valentino feeling so very betrayed when (to his eyes) marc could not leave well enough alone

i've seen a few comments before (not on here, just in the past on other sites) frustrated and confused about why the oldest dream never talked to yoo joonghyuk. or anyone for that matter. why couldn't he just say something, anything at all? did he feel nothing as they suffered? couldn't he have helped somehow?
and there's a lot i could say about this and a lot of various layers and details and perspectives. but in the end it all comes down to this:
not a single one of us can talk to the characters in a book we're reading.

do i really want to make individual drinks again
#reaching back into the file cabinets of my mind to remember how i made certain drinks when i worked at the cafe#in preparation for the possibility of this new job#it would certainly mean far less goofing off time than i have at my current job. and i value my goofing off time dearly#but the people here are so fucking annoying lmao. i hate them soooo much#not that the people at this new job would be any better. we're still dealing with investment bankers#godddddd. what i really would want (which would be impossible)#would be to go back to working at the cafe but like. still have paid time off and insurance lmao#but the cafe was a small business and he was not offering paid time off and insurance. and the pay was way less#but i did get to play whatever music i wanted. unfortunately you cant live on that#like i can always say no to this new job if its offered to me. but is my goofing off time worth:#2 dollars less in pay and a half hour to an hour's more commute. well i dont know#a shorter commute would mean i could sleep more. and have more time at home .#i mean i probably don't Need all this goofing off time. but its nice#i dont knowwwwwww#like even though im a bit nervous abt doing it again i know that i would easily fall back into the routine of making drinks#which i was fairly good at. my one drawback is that i cant do latte art but i dont know that theyd really care here#and (because i found the menu of where id work) theres not a ton of drink options?? just the standard stuff#its being called a starbucks cafe but 1) its not managed by them and 2) it does not have their 5 billion drink options#so thats good. less to worry about#doesnt look like i even have to make anything foodwise which i had to at the cafe#here it looks like people can just buy a pastry and thats it#the hours are like. the same i work now. also good#sorry im like using this post to think through my thoughts.#uhhhh oh i looked up the manager who looks like a weenie so im not keen on the prospect of interviewing with him#but i probably would have thought that about my current manager if id seen a pic of him prior to interviewing. i guess???#and with these kind of catering units it seems you dont often deal directly with the manager that much anyway#i just gotta see if i get good vibes#rn i have unsure vibes. but i need a sign to see if this could be good for me#oh id also save money on transportation. and taxes! bc i wouldnt be working in ny anymore#lol oops tag limit. well i hope you enjoyed my job thoughts you probably didnt i know i didnt

#the fact that they were travelling so fast for so long that those letter are only now reaching them#they were a dead ship being chased by sentiments from people who didn't know they were dead#i do wonder sometimes when rimmer's dad died#like was it before rimmer died? after? before or after the people of Io knew the ship was missing?#did she write the letter and send it not knowing if it would ever reach him?#did she care?#red dwarf#THERE'S A QUESTION#were there news reports about the ship going missing?#did they lose contact right when everyone died?#or did they not notice until the end of those 6 months when it didn't come into port#did they hold funerals? memorials? was there a big deal made about the Tragic Loss?#did holly bother to send a report on what had happened before he diverted the ship#so many things we'll never know because they'll never get back home#unless it's in one of the books and I just haven't read it#anyways i'm literally at work right now#but also its really funny that rimmer got a 3 million year old parking ticket

#naruto#pan watches naruto (again)#*#padmerrie and i got to this point in our rewatch last night and we both looked at each other like WHO IS THIS#in all seriousness though this is so interesting#in that it shows that there are other root members who are starting to ask Questions#like yamato did years ago#and like sai did more recently#i spend a lot of time thinking about post-4th war root#and about the enormous challenge of reaching them/connecting with them and rehabilitating/reintegrating them into society#and this makes me wonder if pain's attack had a similar effect on them that (in my own mind) sakumo's suicide had on the general population#in that it's a bit of a wake-up call#and even though it doesn't revolutionize society overnight it does make people start questioning certain things#and maybe make them more receptive to potential changes in the future#(and unrelatedly it's also really interesting to see how few agents there are here. only 16 in this scene)#(i'm sure danzo has some others scattered around doing his dark bidding in other lands)#(but i also assume that he's currently speaking to all the agents available in the village right now)#(and that makes sense bc if the foundation was officially 'disbanded' it would have been much harder for danzo to acquire new recruits)#(it's just interesting to think of the foundation as kind of a dwindling force)#(and danzo's bid for hokage as a kind of last-ditch desperate power grab)#(because his ideology IS losing and being pushed out in favor of changemakers like kakashi and naruto and tsunade etc)#(and popular opinion is changing with them)

#I know I'm likely catastrophizing and also that a day or two won't make a difference#But I noticed a lump a month or two ago and then dismissed it as not a problem#I cannot remember why I did this. Like did it go away? Did I forget?#Either way I noticed it again today. Spent twenty minutes trying to reach my doctor's office#Before I was fully losing my mind (it's terrible on a good day to keep hearing 'we have a patient portal!' and 'we do urgent care on week!'#Once a minute.) And had to hang up and roll into work 30 minutes late#Just tried to call them again and they are at lunch#Like!! I just want an appointment and for someone to tell me it's not cancer or do a biopsy if it is#Because the internet suggests it could very well be cancer!!!!#And I'm limited on what else it could be based on symptoms so like. I'd like to speak to a fucking doctor#So I can know for sure#Either way I'm starting to investigate a new practice because this one has reassigned me three times in 1 year#So I want to try to find a place that is more stable and doesn't have 20+ minute wait times to speak to a human#Update that I called again and had to hang up after 20 minutes waiting for someone to answer#If the bridge weren't an issue I would show up in person#Anyways I'm now hoping to get through at another place and switch PCPs because this is unacceptable#Even the 'are you sick and need to get in today' option had a 10+ minute wait#Why even have a phone

#PROBABLY been done before but. the god and john mirroring is just sooooooo good it tickles my brain wonderfully#particularly was thinking abt this bc. ok so i started watching percy jackson. and i never read the books growing up so its new to me#and percy talking about the life long neglect from his father and how all the other kids at camp dont Know their parent. they have gifts#from them and Thats it. and from the way they behave when they are taken/broken (clarisse’s spear breaking. annabeth not wanting to lose her#cap) leads me to believe its one gift and thats all you will probably ever have of your parent#(and the journal and car being the Only things sam&dean have of john are like the gifts in that way)#your parent is a GOD a faceless god that you are to worship and follow without question. to not go against them or slight them in any way#(medusa’s head in the mall to olympus)#and it all made me think of john winchester and how he really doesn’t have that many episodes and hes still so PROMINENT#and in the flashbacks especially hes just barely out of sight out of reach. hes unknowable and will never be within grasp…#and still the chokehold he has on his children…. even in death#and like. i dont believe personally that john being dead led to sam&dean’s tragedies following in every season after that but the neglect#and treatment in life did. it shaped who they are and he let it happen. he created them#/revelation
