New Letterkenny pattern I made while in bed with super bad nausea today! I've been meaning to make this one for awhile and I'm quite happy with how it turned out.
Check it out here!

Shoresy as a show just made him so fucking relatable and I haven't even finished (only need episode 6) but here are my headcanons:
Shoresy was an athlete in high school, for sure, but I also like to think he did drama/theater either as a class or in a club and absolutely became obsessed with it (based on him knowing Jesus Christ Superstar, which in my experience is only known by theater geeks)
Shoresy got Big Sexy before he joined the Letterkenny Irish, and the only words he taught him were "tit fucker" and "fuck you"
Shoresy is an avid supporter of the lgbtq+ community and will beat up/chirp out anybody who is a homophobe (I asked him myself, he said this was true)
If anyone ever asks why he knows so much about theater he just says he was in tech (partially true, he did do tech stuff, but he also acted)
He cries at those animal shelter ads they play on TV and it takes about an hour to calm down from it
Shoresy also cries when somebody brings up that Big Sexy is going to die one day
This guy, when asked about his pronouns, will say "he/him, thanks" and then procede to ask for yours. He will aggressively correct people who misgender you after learning your pronouns
He is unlabeled, but leans more towards liking women
Dad shore made him a pride flag hockey sweater (which he updated to the progress flag) and Shoresy wears it to practice in June. All other times it is on display in his locker or his house
That's all I have for now, but if you guys have any other feel free to reblog with your headcanons either on the post, in a reply, or in the tags

Chortle headlines roundup, anyone?
Tumblr media
Nope. Nope nope nope nope nope. We're not doing this. Jeremy Hardy went in his late 50s, Paul Sinha's health is deteriorating, if we lose Mark Steel before his time then they'll have to just cancel Radio 4. Not doing that. Fuck that shit. He's only 63, that's younger than my parents. Absolutely not.
...The article does say the condition is treatable and he'll likely be okay after a while, so that's good. It also has some on-brand quotes from him that muse on mortality. Good man. We are not losing that one yet.
(Obviously... not to make a serious issue all about me and other lovers of Radio 4 or anything... I wish a speedy recovery and the best for him and his family and all that.)
Tumblr media
I wasn't sure I was going to watch season 3 of this - not that seasons 1 or 2 were bad, but season 2 didn't keep my attention all that well (except when Joe Wilkinson and Jessica Hynes were on), I figured I get the idea and don't really need to see a lot more. But actually, that's quite a good lineup. Roisin Conaty is always funny. Add in Alan Davies, Guz Khan, and Chris McCausland - and yeah, I'll probably give Knockoff Taskmaster a watch again.
Tumblr media
You know, I wondered about then when I watched the French and Saunders show. The constant fat jokes about Dawn French seemed okay because she was one of the writers, she was choosing to say it about herself, that makes it okay the same way it is when Jo Brand does it. But still, there really were a lot of them. And obviously comedians are pressured to make any feature about themselves into a USP, so just because she agreed to do the jokes doesn't mean she always wanted to. That show was funny, it's a pity to see this.
(Obligatory note that the headline, like most headlines, is a bit sensationalized, these Chortle headline round-ups are meant to be partly a joke about how the headlines don't really tell you anything and just throw a bunch of disparate facts in your face all at once, and you should really read the articles if you want to know stuff. But the information in the headline is basically accurate.)
Tumblr media Tumblr media
The Aussies are coming! The Aussies are coming! With their excessive Rs after vowels and their mildly racist names for coolers!
(I briefly misread the Sam Campbell article's description as calling him a "Taskmaster winner", and had a split second of believing Chortle had somehow made a colossal blunder and accidentally posted a huge spoiler that made me very pleased.)
Tumblr media
If they make that, I'll probably watch it. I might watch some of the Irish one because Aisling Bea and Catherine Bohart, even though the worst fucking person in the world is also on it.
I did watch the first two episodes of the Canadian one. Have I admitted that on here yet? It wasn't my finest hour - and it was just one hour, two episodes - when I watched reality TV on Amazon Prime. But Mae Martin was in it. Mae Martin was in it looking focused and intense as they tried not to laugh and for personal reasons I just had to see that. Then (spoiler alert, I guess) they were out after two episodes, so I didn't watch any further.
I have to admit I rather enjoyed it, though. The rest of the cast was also funny. It had Jon Lajoie, guy who made a bunch of funny videos when I was in high school that my friends and I used to quote all the time, then didn't make anything for like 12 years, then came back in 2020 with this absolute earworm that hit the perfect note of what we needed in early pandemic days:
youtube
Anyway, he was on the Canadian LOL show, and he was pretty entertaining. Also Colin Mochrie from Who's Line, which I used to watch as a kid. Tom Green, quite a good stand-up comedian who went to my high school (not at the same time or anything, he's much older than me, he's just the only famous person who ever went to my high school). K Trevor Wilson, aka Squirrly Dan from Letterkenny. Andrew Phung from Kim's Convenience. It was fun seeing the mishmash of Canadian comedy people from all these different things in one room. I guess would be less of a novelty in the UK, since we don't have panel shows here.
And I've got to admit, when I forced the judgmental "there is no logical reason why this is a higher form of entertainment than any other shit reality TV" part of my brain to turn off, I found the format pretty funny. I'd watch Irish people do that. I'd watch British people do it. I mean, I didn't love it enough to finish the show after Mae was gone. But I might go back to it at some point.
Tumblr media
Still doing that, are we? Going with the cheeky term "peeing Tom" for men who spy on naked women without their consent? I don't object to Hugh Dennis playing the role obviously, they're not going to portray that as a guy we're supposed to like. Just not sure I love Chortle's word choice.
Tumblr media
That's good. Put your minds at ease, people who are worried that Jim Davidson isn't mentoring aspiring comedians. Everything's okay.
Tumblr media
I was about to say "Steve, what the fuck would you consider a 5-star show then?", but then I remembered that to be fair to Steve Bennett, the quality of this show does vary wildly depending what night you see it and who's in the audience. Don't turn up to this and derail it with heckles, everyone, even though you're allowed. The show in its proper form is brilliant.
Tumblr media
I tried to ignore this one, I really did. But I'm sorry, that's too funny a headline not to include here. Sorry, Johnny. Bad luck.

You know, I am always ashamed of saying where I'm from 😭 people from "my" country pride themselves on our history, but our government, and too many citizens who support it — it's all racism, homophobia and sexism. They stand with America and its leaders (like Trump, he loved my country when he visited it, lmao fuck him) and that should speak for itself.
Meanwhile, I've been in Ireland for the last fifteen years, sixteen actually? And it's not perfect, nowhere is, but the government is speaking out in support of Palestine, and people are organizing protests in support of Palestine as well, these are happening right now.
Dublin, Letterkenny, multiple big towns. I can't travel to attend, and I couldn't find a single one happening in my county, but you have no idea how happy I was when I saw the news 😭 I really hope something will move forward and all this suffering will end. There's been too much of it already and it's absolutely devastating. But it gave me some hope to know there are leaders and people who still stand up for what is right.
I’m sorry I don’t mean to shame any country but yes, it is is really bothering from me that a lot of countries are so silent about what’s happening in Palestine, but it is a sad reality. I just wish that some people and world leaders get a reality check and help Palestine from this genocide.
And as for Ireland, I have a friend who is Irish and my respect for Ireland has doubled because they are speaking out. Ireland is the only western country that has a spine right now and they have been constantly helping Palestine.
We all need to just pray for Palestine because that’s all we can really do. But I am so glad that a lot of my mutuals in a lot of my followers are Pro-Palestine because being pro Palestine is the only right thing right now.

An Old Tom Morris Day
Happy Sunday to everyone! Hope you have enjoyed time with your family and had a chance to go to church on this first Sunday of May! Thanks to technology, we were able to attend our church remotely although it was at 4:00p afternoon after we had another great day of golf!
We played the Old Tom Morris course at Rosapenna  today. Rosapenna, as I mentioned in an earlier post is very similar to The Bandon Dunes Golf Complex in Oregon although with only three courses instead of five. The Old Tom Morris course is the oldest of the courses, founded in the late 1800′s by you guested it, - Old Tom Morris, a famous Irish countryman that is often sited as instrumental in bringing golf to Ireland.
The course has gone through a few redesigns since its beginning and proved to be a wonderfully designed course that was a little easier than the first four courses played. Wider fairways, lighter heather in most places and bunkers that were not quite as penal as some of the other courses. Of course, that didn’t keep me or Kim from finding plenty of trouble throughout Old Tom’s course!
The weather was really good today. Sunny, winds around 10-12 mph and temps in the mid 50′s. All the locals were in shirt sleeves but not the Bell’s. Our caddie Brendon was a likable young man that did everything he could to help us enjoy our play and straighten out our putting woes. We have been challenged with the different grasses on the different greens which make the speeds vary greatly from course to course. Also, the vast differences in the amount of undulation in the greens and the changing wind velocities have made our putting less than stellar!
After the round, we headed to the clubhouse bar that had a panoramic view of the courses that wind their way along the shoreline of the Atlantic. Had a pint of Guinness, talked our way through the round we just played and then headed back to our hotel to go to church:-)
We topped off the evening going into the small village of Downing. It’s located about a half of a mile from the resort. One unusual characteristic of the village is that all the houses are white! It’s quite a scenic little place as it has one small main street with several restaurants and then the houses of the village are built upon the hillside that runs up from the main street. They are small is size but have great views of the beach and the large bay that cuts its way into the town from the Atlantic Ocean.
We ate at the Goose and the Gander, a combination of Irish pub and restaurant. It was great food, dim lighting and very busy. The village’s outdoor activity fields were right across the street so the G&G was a convenient place for teams to gather for a pint after their games.
Tomorrow brings another day of golf for me and Kim is taking the day off and has a few calls scheduled for the afternoon. She is debating about driving to Letterkenny, a town 17 miles away, to go to the Duds & Suds to do a little laundry. Surprisingly, this beautiful resort we are staying in has NO laundry service for guests!  She is reluctant to drive there because of the narrow roads and the fact she has never driven in Ireland. Will report back of her decision!
Stay tuned!  gb

Tag game!
Thank you @lighthousebeams . I’ve seen so many people doing this and I’m not sure who has or hasn’t done it at this stage, so to avoid me tagging people who have already taken part, consider this an open tag to anyone who wants to get involved!
Three ships? Steddie (obviously), Ineffable Husbands is one that’s a lot of fun overall, and I do have a soft spot for Johnlock. I’ve decided I need to watch Hannibal for the first time though so from what I’ve heard that's a pretty powerful ship too.
First ever ship? I think the first ship that I actively spent time thinking about and being involved in the fandom for was Billie Joe Armstrong and Tre Cool (Yes I know better now that to try ship real people) but I think the first one that ever made me think “These two people should kiss” was Val and Earl from the first Tremors movie 😅 Showing my age there I think. I do remember vividly as a kid wanting Westley from The Princess Bride to show up at my house so I guess that was my first foray into the world of y/n 😹
Last song? I’m actually listening to a playlist on Spotify called Easy 90s and it’s just switched to So Good by Boyzone
Last movie? I rewatched Top Gun: Maverick last night. I love action movies.
Currently reading? I’ve just given up on a book, sadly. Beautiful World Where Are You? by Sally Rooney. Usually her stuff grips me by the throat within a few pages but this one hasn’t had the same effect on me. I’ll try again in a few weeks. I’m giving another a go now called Has Anyone Seen My Sex Life? by Kirsten Bailey. I’m not a big fan of first-person narration but the story is good so I’m enjoying it.
Currently watching? The latest series of Letterkenny! Jared Keeso is a genius and between LK and Shoresy, he deserves some serious recognition for his writing.
Currently consuming? I have a toasted sandwich of violife Epic Mature vegan cheese with onion and hot sauce, and a cup of tea (Lyons Gold Blend, my Irish babies know the score)
Currently craving? Crispy fried tofu with green and red chillis. I moved to a rural part of the country a few years ago from a big city and haven’t had it since

what happens when private equity invests in a cottage industry
On August 22, 2019, an Irish farmer sought urgent treatment for a calf with a broken leg. He hauled it to Donegal Animal Hospital, which served thousands of animal owners around the town of Letterkenny.  But treatment was not forthcoming there. The practice had been abruptly shut down that day by its owners, private equity-backed […]
