hbomberguy posted a video and i have opinions about it
i never made the active choice to stop watching James Somerton's content but when i stopped having a job that'd let me listen to videos for hours straight, I slowly became interested in other creators. i remember finding a couple of his videos contradictory in their analysis and do remember being annoyed by the "white women/teenager girls" comments a lot. oh yeah and that TELOS PICTURES ALWAYS REEKED OF A SCAM. Hearing James describe himself as a business major first in the pitch video weirded me the hell out. I feel like not enough people are talking about this particular part of the story but the man crowdfunded $60k USD and has produced nothing but stock image posters in return after years.
this man saw his community as nothing but to steal from and profit off of and clearly sees himself above those voices he robs. the point in the video that broke me was right in the beginning in the james half was the Mulan section. the tactic of erasing Jes Tom's words and passing it off as a personal observation of the community instantly reminded me of all the times James has confidently talked on the experiences of trans, nb and all queer people of color throughout his career and the fucking similarity of the language. that moment made me pause and scream. it instantly put into scale that this wasn't just one of the first video essays he'd ever made, it was EVERYTHING.
I want to pretend the queer media I see is made from a place of genuine care of the community, all of us do. but we as a collective need to stop catering to the consumption of content sludge. we need to be more critical and more aware. any time james mispronounced a character or place's name, i would always brush it off as a bad voice take kept in because of the videos' length that wasn't fixed in production. no, that was because james didn't care enough to learn the principle facts of the topics he was covering. (him spelling "shonan" in that AoT script made lose it). he wanted our ad revenue and your patreon money and by stealing the work of actually talented queer people, he basically won.
hbomberguy, lovely chaos bisexual, did a service to our community by making sure millenial and zoomer queers will never let this mf try to grift his way into the entertainment industry again. i have more to say about this video, especially illuminaughii bc she's an especially abusive and toxic person who i also watched a fuck ton at my old job. i certainly need be a bit better about where i get my info from, especially if i'm going to be repeating it to someone else. in the age of tiktok and the speed of misinfo there being insane, i just beg us young queers to think a bit more critically before we post.

Wanted to start this by saying that I usually agree with your opinions (or even when I don't, I can at least see where you're coming from) but that's not the case when it comes to your opinion on Only Friends because I completely disagree and just wanted to add my two cents. You said that it wasn't relatable to the queer community but I'm sorry, the queer community isn't a monolith, there isn't one universal way that every single queer friendship group functions. Just because it wasn't relatable to your experience, it doesn't mean that it wasn't relatable to many other queer people's experiences. For example, one of my friend groups consists of gay men and the stories they've told me (and some of which I witnessed with myself)? Not that far off from OF (aka everyone getting with everyone, behind people's backs as well, and most of them are still on friendly terms now). It's perfectly fine that you didn't personally relate but you can't say no queer person/community did.
I also saw depth to a lot of characters and I could relate to several of them in different ways and everything in the finale made sense to me for those characters. For me it achieved what it set out to do: entertain, while also make me connect/care about some of the characters. It didn't do that for everyone (you included) but please don't claim it's a "bad show" as a general statement just because you didn't get anything out of it because a lot of people did. (My friend who struggles with depression and is currently going through a depressive slump found comfort in seeing Ray progress to a point where he's much happier at the end of the series because it gives her hope that she can get to that point soon too.)
Is Only Friends a brilliant, amazing, showstopping, incredible show? No. But it's not bad, far from it. It certainly has its flaws but the sudden hate it's getting is not warranted imo.
hi, first of all, it's fine to disagree lol, though it's always a bit jarring to me when people feel the need to let me know they disagree with me bc clearly we simply have a different taste & opinion. when I share my opinion about a show, I do it on my blog but never go on others' blogs to either defend a show I liked or trash a show I didn't like, but anyways. I have NEVER, EVER said that the queer community is a monolith & that all queer representation needs to be relatable to ME. in fact, a lot of my favorite queer media are HIGHLY UN-relatable to me lol. I never implied that only friends' flaws comes from it being unrelatable or unrealistic? in fact I believe it to be realistic since it's made by queer men & has recurring topics that p'jojo especially has used in previous shows of his, especially since the story of only friends is inspired by real-life events. in fact I said that I WISH they'd have leaned into the queer community aspect of it even more bc it was the one point in which this show differentiates itself from friend zone, so yeah. don't really know where you got that notion from. secondly, like it or not, I can claim any shows I've watched are bad in my opinion. once again, media is subjective & I did not like only friends so for me it IS a bad show. is it the worst? no. did I HATE it? no. did I have a good time in front of it? also no. also from a writing standpoint I'm sorry it IS objectively bad and FAILED at what it set out to do, especially considering the show itself doesn't seem to know what it set out to do in the first place. moreover, sudden hate? I've been criticizing only friends since it started airing lol, I'm not jumping on any bandwagon, and in fact it's more so the fandom that's catching up to the fact that this show is not very good. now, I'm genuinely glad that this show helped you & your friend and that you liked it! that's great, of COURSE this show is gonna have its fans, and in fact it has a lot of them! however it seems to me as if you've taken my (justified) criticism of the show to heart for a reason that only you fully know, and I hope you can investigate why that is. I truly value you as a long time follower of mine & I hope you can agree to disagree with me on that one even though I must admit this ask seems a bit jarring & personal to me. wish you all the best :)

ARCHER!! what do you think about thua outing akk and ayan? i have mixed feelings about him rn because im obsessed with him getting shit done and being a bad bitch but like…. wtf dude why would you out them.. it feels. not ooc but just confusing. IDK IM JUST CONFLICTED
JACE!!
so i think this particular instance is incredibly complex. i will try to articulate myself as best i can, in hopes that this will somehow make sense. yes, this is an essay.
to begin with, i'd like to point out that i definitely view the eclipse as a small-scale model. what i mean by that is percieving it as being a literal story about a very strict school is not only a disservice to what i think they were trying to do with the script, but also just makes the whole thing incredibly silly. if you think "oh, these students are fiercly protesting not wanting to wear a uniform and these teachers are evil for not letting the kids use their phones, while the prefects are evil for reinforcing this rule", it all gets a bit ridiculous. but if you think "oh, this is all a metaphor for how a totalitarian regime seizes total control of all areas of life, with examples of how it affects the marginalized, how it affects more privileged people, how it is done by those in power and how it is reinforced by those who serve those in power", then it becomes this really profound, smart thing.
so, before we try to transform our small-scale model of thua and the situation he found himself in to a bigger scale, allow me to start with an example from another piece of media. it is most certainly an extreme example, but one i want to make nonetheless. if you have seen jojo rabbit, you will have a bit of an easier time understanding what i have to say, but i will try to explain it in general terms for everyone who hasn't. (but please do watch jojo rabbit at some point).
so, jojo rabbit is a movie about nazi germany, and there is a character there called captain klenzendorf. klenzendorf is a retired officer from the nazi army, and he is also most often cited by people with zero critical thinking skills when they try to prove that a movie written and directed by a jewish brown man is excusing nazis. you see, klenzendorf is gay, which is particularly dangerous, of course, as that is a direct road to a concentration camp with a pink triangle sewn onto your striped shirt. he is also altogether not inherently evil, and helps the main characters of the movie twice (including helping to hide a jewish girl from the gestapo). at the end of the movie, when the war ends and the soviets arrive, klenzendorf is executed, as a nazi undeniably deserves to be.
so what taika waititi teaches us here with klenzendorf's arc is that there have been many different types of people in nazi germany at the time (people like klenzendorf, who were certainly pretty decent before the war) and that those different types of people had different circumstances which lead them to the choices they eventually made (like the choice of "proving himself" to the nazis that he made not to end up at a concentration camp). overall, taika shows us that any person - if they aren't careful enough and are selfish enough - can go down that slippery slope. and at the end of the war, that person is just like any other nazi - an awful human being, whose execution is a natural and just part of the end of the war. (the main point of jojo rabbit is that anyone can become a nazi and we must continuously step back and assess our worldview and our actions in order not to end up a despicable human being).
now that i have given this extreme example, which no doubt the quickest of readers have already desiphered, let's make the scale a bit smaller, though without returning to the silly bounds of a school.
thua is a marginalized character. he has also not made an active choice there - he is visibly marginalized and so he experiences daily oppression due to others "clocking" him. though he does hold a position that gives him some protection, it is not a position of power, such as the prefects, for instance, have. he also sees that there are people who are marginalized in a similar way to him experiencing the same oppression he does, but even more severely, as they do not have the same protection he does. he sees that they are so unprotected that they have no other choice but to fight.
at the start, the system seems quite clear to him. there is some overarching threat behind everything (the curse) that requires protection from, which is "provided" via implemented rules by the first line of power (the teachers) and reinforced by the second line of power (the prefects), which is semi-comfortable to most people out of power (the majority of the students) and actively harmful to people put down by power (our trio). i'd say thua is placed somewhere between the last two groups, which allows him to be in the necessary position for everything else to fall into place.
now, the moment things change is when thua realizes that the very foundation upon which the entire system is built simply... does not exist. it was invented by someone in the first line of power, and is now being knowingly reinforced by someone in the second line of power. the former is, of course, at fault, but all the suffering that the trio first and foremost and thua in part have experienced is actively due to the latter. you know how it goes - if a dictator has no one to dictate, the dictatorship fails.
and the moment thua's world finally turns upside down is when he realizes: the person actively causing the suffering of his marginalized group is a part of that group, and he is choosing to cause that suffering because he chooses his own safety not just in favor of himself, but at the expense of people like him. like both of them. and it could even be argued that thua understands akk is harming himself too, along with them, just because he found a place where he kind of fits in and sees no other choice but to follow the arbitrary rules of the people who have allowed him to take up that place (as long as he is doing what they want, that is).
and so thua understands: the only way he can make the entire harmful system tumble down is to make akk not only confess to what he has specifically done, but finally sit in the same boat as his fellow marginalized, instead of having an honorary spot on the ship that's shooting cannons at it. because for change to truly occur, the second line of power must seize to exist, which will only happen if akk steps out of his position of power forever and with no chance of return, as he is the only one holding up the second line of power at this point (khan was at a protest, wat is in doubt, namo admires akk and does everything to support him, everyone else is inconsequential).
at first, thua relies on ayan to do the job - the guy did come here for a reason, after all, and he's been quite proudly sitting in the boat with them. but nothing happens with ayan. and so thua takes matters into his own hands. at first he tries to nudge akk, but when that doesn't work either? he simply points at the empty spot next to him in the boat and shows that the empty spot has "akk" written on it.
thua outing akk is not some stupid personal revenge plot - his name is not wai and we are not watching bad buddy. thua outing akk is a deliberate push at the only brick in the wall that he can reach, but also crucially, a brick that does a lot to hold the wall in place.
and this is not me saying that akk is an awful character or a terrible person. i gave klenzendorf as an example not to literally draw a parallel between them but to show very vividly why what akk has been doing is bad and what the normalisation of such behavior can lead to in extreme circumstances. akk is a complex boy and he is also someone who's been through a lot. and i like him. and i like the way ayan has been consistently giving him a chance to become a better person, because thankfully he is not in extreme circumstances and he has the opportunity to change. but none of that makes what he has been doing fair, especially if we perceive the narrative as a metaphor, which i think we must do.
with klenzendorf being an extreme example, i can flip the script and go for something even more mild than what we have in the eclipse, like adam groff or dave karofsky. and i have intentionally chosen such drastically different representations of the "homophobic bully turned gay" trope, because i am not saying that it is a trope that should not be executed - i am saying that it is a trope that comes with baggage and responsibility. especially when we once more up its scale away from one single high school, leaving us somewhere between the homophobic bully and klenzendorf, but with a pretty similar conclusion:
akk's incredibly complex and frankly heartbreaking reasons for doing what he has been doing are not a big enough excuse for the suffering that he has caused, and - at this point - thua was justified in trying to end the suffering, even if it hurt akk in the process, especially because his personal pain is still incomparable with the pain that he helped cause to everyone by upholding an unjust system.

Final Kinnporsche Review
So in trying to figure out how to approach writing an actual Kinnporsche review, I ended up having to make a list of positives and negatives because I couldn’t figure out how else to approach it.  I’m also keeping this as non-spoilery as possible.
It’s not a show I can praise wholeheartedly without also tempering it with some criticism.  It’s not a show I recommend without caveats.  It is, however, a show I really have enjoyed watching and which I love in many respects.  I’m going to pretty immediately watch it again, and I watched most episodes twice while it was airing.  Plus I’m planning to read the novel on which it was based.
So obviously, I like it.
But let’s run through my pros and cons.  Gonna start with the cons and then linger on the pros.  These are all, of course, my opinion and I know some people don’t have the same experience of this show as me which is totally valid.  It really depends where your threshold/attitude is towards certain things in your media and everyone is different.
Tumblr media
Negatives:
I spoke about this in my initial post about the show, but early on and occasionally throughout, the show has some cringey and embarrassment-based humor.  Especially in episode 2, which is basically ENTIRELY that.  There are a number of scenes in this show I have watched mostly through my hands because I can’t handle second hand embarrassment.
The setting/premise of the show is not very believable.  The mafia family with a skyscraper full of young, hot bodyguards and James Bond style tech requires a good amount of suspension of disbelief to buy into.  In general the plot and action scenes require you watch with a lot of suspension of disbelief.  This isn’t realistic drama TV, it’s fanfic level mafia AU that runs entirely on Rule of Cool.
The way the plot is handled/shot/edited/written is uneven and has some very sloppy moments.  Some episodes are perfect and tight and others are a hot mess IMO.  There’s a lot of them cutting and you going “wait, what? what happened, where are we, did I miss something?”  Most of the time, the scene you find yourself in is fun and sometimes delightful and therefore you don’t actually care how you got to it.  But it still...rankles, and shows the inexperience of much of the team behind the show.
I can’t speak very well to how this compares to other BL dramas or Thai dramas, but there’s a good amount of cheesy fan service that shows off the bodies of the actors.  I’m not talking about specifically sex scenes or romance scenes, but everyone having their shirts unbuttoned practically to their waists, removing clothes for little reason, etc.  You get used to it as like...background levels of fan services and certainly the eye candy is very nice but...it could turn some people off (and others on I’m sure).
This is almost a World Without Women, as tends to be a problem with BL content.  This really feels like a world where women somehow don’t exist and most men are just queer by default.  There are a couple of mother figures, literal and figurative, but they are rarely on screen.  It would feel a little less weird if, like, IDK any of the men of the family had a female significant other who wasn’t dead.
There are elements of dubious consent in both the kinnporsche and vegaspete (and actually almost kimchay) ships.  There’s one scene of basically sexual assault that IMO is well-handled in the aftermath, but it IS between two people who go on to be in a relationship/fall in love.  There’s also a lot of violence, on-screen torture, and one ship where one of them tortures the other and keeps him as a prisoner before falling for him.   So...there are elements you could say are problematic and/or toxic.  If you are sensitive to these things/themes you should stay away.  BUT I do think the way all of them is handled is SUPER INTERESTING and appealing to me personally.  I love some redemption narratives and complicated characters and relationships.
Which brings me to the Positives.
One of my general complaints about a lot of BL dramas is that they involve young characters in high school or university.  Kinnporsche is lovely in that regard because the characters/actors are mid-late 20s and the plot is way more interesting that just school drama.
The acting level of this show is EXCELLENT pretty much across the board.  Every once in a while a side character has bad line delivery or a particular scene twigs my bad acting nerve, but overall I’m INCREDIBLY IMPRESSED with the cast.  Especially since this is the first job for some of them.  (I have a Real Problem with bad acting that ties into my embarrassment squick so this is a concern with small productions.)
But really Mile, Apo, Bible, Build...they all fucking killed it and conveyed such a range of content.  But especially the super emotional scenes were so fucking good.  (I’m especially impressed with Apo and Bible...damn.)
The filming is very aesthetic, pleasant, and fun to watch.  Despite the obvious low budget which occasionally shows in things like the rare CGI, the cinematography is impressive.  The show loves to show it off, too, with the colored lighting and camera angles, but it never feels too much and makes it a LOT more visually interesting than pretty much any other BL I’ve seen images of.  (And a lot of regular TV, especially romance-focused shows.)
I started talking above about the complicated characters, and this is where the show SHINES.  The characters feel complex and realistic, and have believable development across the series, which of course the acting level shows off.  But also the relationships have ARCS, really huge amounts of development.
Kinnporsche especially, since that’s the focus of the show.  It’s really a sorta enemies to lovers situation and there’s a lot of stops along the way, although they really sort themselves out by a little over halfway through the show.
Vegaspete is the secondary ship and it doesn’t get started until close to the end of the season but they do SO MUCH with a few episodes.  I wish it had had a little more time, but I get why it happened that way.  This is even MORE of enemies to lovers with one of them being a main antagonist to boot.  I was expecting to HATE this ship and they...ended up being possibly my faves.
Tumblr media
The third ship is Kim/Chay and it’s a really side story kind of thing.  It doesn’t really get the development of the others but it has cute moments and is more of hints for the future/possibly S2.
But all the pairs have SUPER good chemistry.  Like, wow, okay.  That intimacy coaching worked I guess.
Speaking of which, let’s talk Sex Scenes.  This is going to sound a certain way, but my very favorite thing about this show is the sex scenes.  Because I honestly don’t think I’ve ever seen better sex on screen.  Most sex scenes on film are cringey and awkward or uncomfortable looking.  But Kinnporsche manages to make them hot, sexy, beautiful, and also to have a lot of relevance to the characters and the relationships.  The sex scenes are meaningful and tell a story.  They have significance in the overall story.  The emotions on the characters faces is just as important as their bodies or even more so.  These sex scenes feel ACTUALLY INTIMATE and that’s VERY RARE.
And they are super explicit.  The extended version of the show is 21+ and yeah...this is definitely adults only content.  But mostly because they don’t shy away from the realities of what is happening.  Like, yeah, you know what sex act is occurring and it’s not all penetration.  I’m going to stop talking about the sex now because I’m probably going to do a post all about that.  I have a lot of feelings about it, as someone very concerned with the portrayal of sex and sex positivity.  But finally the last thing I’ll say is that if you’ve ever wanted to see good fanfic sex scenes on screen, this is the closest thing I’ve ever seen.
The show is very queer.  As I mentioned above, pretty much everyone in the show is casually queer as if that’s just the default.  Now that’s sorta because it’s in weird BL land, but also...something about the representation feels like there have been queer hands on it.  Now, I can’t obviously speak to the sexual or gender identities of anyone involved with the show.  I’m not pointing to anyone in particular with this.  But the way that there’s no homophobia onscreen, the way everyone just accepts “you love who you love”, the way there’s no gay panic, the way there’s a variation of the way gender is presented, with men of a wide range of feminine traits on display, the gnc characters... it’s a thing.
Tumblr media
I was originally VERY on guard about the representation in this show, especially when it came to stereotypes, but then the show just sorta kept not doing the stereotypical thing and exceeding my expectations.
Finally, the show is fun.  The tone bounces all over the damn place enough to give you emotional whiplash, but it’s almost always a fun ride if you just relax and shrug and go along with it.  The entire ensemble will win your heart and make you fond of them and ultimately you just have to root for this crazy, bizarre, unique little show that could.
Where to watch:  As far as I know, right now the only way to watch the show legally is with iQiyi VIP.  There may be some episodes up on YouTube but I think they are only the edited versions?  You want the extended ones, trust me.
However if you cannot access it through official channels for some reason, a quick search will find it elsewhere.  (I include this because usually I get a crapton of comments about how to watch a series.  So please...search engine folks.)

I have an exercise for anyone who identifies as an anti or anti-proshipper or anything of the sort, especially anyone who finds it justified to use words like “pedophile” or “cp” in response to proshippers and media they find anything less than 100% morally ‘pure’
I want you to go on your local sex offender registry. Type in your zip code and watch as far, far too many hits pop up. I want you to click on them, especially the level 3 hits (those registered who are deemed as ongoing threats to the community unlikely to stop their behavior). I want you then to look into the eyes of these people —these people who have done and been convicted of real, irreparable harm, who almost certainly will do such harm again— these honest to God monsters, and seriously reconsider your flippant use of the terms abuse, gaslighting, cp, pedophile and anything else of that magnitude
I don’t honestly care what you think of the proshipping community (and by that I mean those of us who are emotionally mature enough to recognize right from wrong and engage with morally grey and outright problematic media with a critical eye, who can recognize why it is that rape fantasies are so common in women and why martial artists are trained to think through scenarios before they happen, and that is because human minds like to puzzle out what to make of situations before they’re in them, regardless of if that makes sense or not because we know that nothing, and I do mean nothing, is ever black and white and that if you will experience harm in your life, it will be in a situation that looks grey to you as it happens)
I do absolutely care, though, that you are watering down these terms that you’re so carelessly using, and therefore watering down what these real live people have done to real live others because in doing so, you’re not protecting anyone. You’re not helping past, present or future targets. By hating people who do no harm just to feel like you’re doing something, you are only letting the real predators slip by unnoticed and making it all the easier for them to hurt someone again, convince their next target that these terms you use are utterly meaningless because that is what you are making them. Predators bank on confusion, on doubt. They are willful and malicious, and they target those they see as malleable, easy to convince of something. Flippant use of these words and the horrid connotations they carry only serve to play right into their hands. “Oh, me? I’m not a pedophile. Don’t you know they call everyone that these days,” is what they will say, using the tools you have given them. Do you not see the deadly harm here?!?!
Have as many problems as you want with the proshipping community. Call those of us who seek to better understand the outlines of our world and of the shades of grey it lives in what you will. Sinners, heathens, kooks, ingrates, whatever you will, but do not misuse words that have power because in doing so, you displace that power from those who deserve to feel its bite. Do not make it easier for the real monsters of the world. Do. Not. Depiction is not in any way the same as glorification and hiding from things that disturb you never has and never will protect you or anyone else from them
Look, I’m a medical professional. I have seen terrible things that have been done to the most innocent of the world. And to see people who perhaps do only wish to do good play right into the hands of evil…is nothing short of a tragedy

I think people are a little silly when they say they don't want to play or watch anything that JK Rowling has any part even if pirated based solely on the reason that they might be negatively influenced in some way. Please learn to look at things critically instead of being afraid of things written by bad people making you a bad person. Playing the wizard game should not instill some deep rooted hatred for other groups in you, it should at most let you form a decent argument against the media instead of just waiting for other people to tell you how good or bad it is. Not saying you SHOULD play/watch her stuff and you certainly shouldn't buy it, but acting like it's bad to form your own opinion on something is not helpful.

Fiction is about conflict, drama and mistakes and the reasons and consequences behind human behavior. People make the mistake of conflating enjoying art with agreeing with what it depicts and that’s just not how consuming media works. I like hurt/comfort fanfic, but that doesn’t mean I want to see my partner beaten up. I really enjoy Hannibal, but that doesn’t mean I approve of cannibalism. What we read, watch, write or ship doesn’t reflect our character. If that were true, Stephen King and George R. R. Martin should both be in prison, and every fan of Die Hard would be on a watchlist. We enjoy stories because they take us outside of ourselves, into adventures we could never have and into the minds of people we could never be. That’s art. And while it’s always important to be critical and thoughtful about how and why we enjoy something, that should never keep you from liking what you like. And it certainly doesn’t make you a bad person.
you straight up copy and pasted this. i have literally seen this argument before. if you’re gonna defend why you’re in love with a racist character, be fucking original.
like wow thats embarrassing.
anyways, yes it does reflect your character. in certain cases, fiction affects or is a reflection of reality. in this case, it shows that you let pretty privilege win when it comes to seeing red flags in people. it shows what you are literally willing to ignore. You cannot go and say this when you know damn well your attitude towards billy would change if any of these actors played him:
Tumblr media Tumblr media
If the face of Billy wasn't some beauty standard pretty boy, y'all would not go this far. Y'all would say things like "he's ugly AND abusive, yikes"
Also everything you mentioned literally does reflect character 💀 it doesn't mean those people are psychos, or how ever extreme you may think, but it does mean that they created "art" with a reflection of how they feel about those topics in those books, movies, and shows.
Art is an extension of the artists feelings and/or mind. Tell me you're not an artist without telling me you're not and artist.
The bad guy portrayed, the good guy portrayed, the plot, the best friends, the character design, the setting even, ect are all reflections of how the creator feels about the topic being brought up, or their values on good, evil, love, hate ect including MEMORIES, which idk if you knew this, BUT ARE A REFLECTION OF A PERSON.
Hannibal kills and eats people he typically hates (like pedophiles) which is most likely a reflection of the creators own hate for pedophiles, and reflection on their views.
Hurt/comfort reflects peoples trauma. Sometimes the creators, and other times something the creator observed. Sometimes, something the creator desires. Ex: they wish to "save" someone and be there for them
Stephen King writes about murder on one hand, and friendship/ family on the other in a "which will pull through" type of way. "Which one is stronger" type of way, which reflects how he feels at the end of the day and how he views horror too.
George RR is famous for GOT, which is straight up about power struggles. This also reflects his character by showing his view on what is basically power politics. How not all the good guys will be in favor. How loss is inevitable in the batte for victory, and that doesn't mean you should essentially "abandon all hope". This is a reflection of what he believes in.
Also, people mainly like die hard for ACTION, which is a reflection of their character because it shows that they are a person who is/wants to be a daredevil, hero, tough guy, ect. if they liked watching people get murdered, that's completely different, but guess what? It's also a REFLECTION OF THEIR CHARACTER.
so you are wrong wrong wrong over and over again. "IT cErtAinLy DoEsnT maKe YoU a BaD pErSon" but it does REFLECT WHO YOU ARE as a person when you like someone as problematic and harmful as Billy.

Just saw a "jojo fan"on twitter ranking SBR and JJL as masterpiece while the rest of the parts as garbage lol .How some certain people call themselves jojo fans if they hate like half the story ?Times like this I wish Araki really made a separate series after pt 6 instead of named it "jojo part 7" ,so we could have escape from such fans .
I've noticed that, for a lot of people, it's not that they're Jojo fans, but that they only like certain parts. And in fairness, someone can certainly tackle the series that way. Plus it can feel pedantic to argue that someone isn't a Jojo fan, they're a (for example) Steel Ball Run fan.
However, when you genuinely enjoy every part of the series it gets annoying seeing endless debate over which parts "are actually good and worth reading/watching, and which one aren't". Especially with that fervour of trying to make any of this shit an 'objective' truth when objectivity isn't possible. Like you said, do these people even like JJBA? And if they largely dislike it, why even partake in the larger fandom? (Besides the fact that being a troll is a hobby for many.)
SBR and JJL are both quality parts for sure, and they differ quite a bit from the parts from the original universe, so I suppose fans of the new universe can be rather disparaging. Araki has gone through major growth and changes over the years as a plot, scenario, and character writer, as well as a visual artist and designer, so for those fans these things can appear lacking in contrast to the newer parts. But I argue that these elements are still strong and enjoyable in parts 1-6, as well as the differences in genre and tone that each part brings to the table.
We all take different things away from JJBA. That's just the nature of interpreting anything, let alone art. To me Jojo's shines as a unique and entertaining series precisely because of the flexibility and variety in casts, settings, fights, and stories! If other fans can't see it then that's on them. If it helps, try to remember that if most of the fans were in charge of Jojo, the series would retain none of what makes it special. (Which isn't to say fans can't do JJBA justice in adapting it, but imho only Araki can make Jojo's, Jojo's). They don't have some 'higher' perspective over the series simply because they criticize it the most loudly.
Anyway, arguing about media online is often a vehicle for stroking one's ego, sooooooo. Yeah, eitists can fuck themselves. The real ones know what's up.

Ramblings watches Halo
Tumblr media
Episode 8: Allegiance (or thelonelyisland ft akon)
Wherein John MasterChief bangs!!!!!! Also one of the most visceral episodes of any tv show I’ve ever watched, the kind of episode where you don’t realize how much you’ve bonded and grown to love a character until something like this happens. But mostly; that dick tho! (content warning: we are talking about sex scenes and in my patented digression we’re going to discuss sexual assualt)
What do you do after you transcend space and time for a beautiful moment of intimacy with your sworn enemy? Well some of us have been known to ship ourselves to the First Order, but JMC and Makee instead go to the park. I hear Reach city is beautiful this time of year.
I’m so late on this, that joke is going to totally fall flat. To be honest, I really liked this episode, my family all really liked it, but I have had a great deal of trouble getting this baby out. The halo show is good, the acting is fabulous, and the visuals are striking. It’s hard to describe something when it is at its best, especially when, I fear, next episode will let me down.
Tumblr media
I’ve put out writing this because I don’t want this to end. I've had a great deal of fun with the Halo show, and I did want to write this because then I would have to watch the last episode, and then this would be over. So I’m sorry that this is late and that it’s probably not my best. Anyway: they had SEXXX
Tumblr media
I’m going to get my hottake out of the way right here: we’re stanning JMC and space Karen. This shouldn’t be a surprise: I love enemies to lovers, I love characters who have mental links with each other; I am a #reylo and this is only the tip of the iceberg. I have terrible taste, I will never change and I won’t apologize. This dynamic is great and these two are on the softer end of things (tho,,,, I assume they will end in the most typical way, #likeifyoucryeverytime).
I think a lot of people disliked the sex scene; I don’t understand these people. I know that here in the year 2022 we’re all discoursing about the sex scenes for some fucking reason, as if the world needed this, and the Halo show has wandered into this against it’s will, taking me with it. What I gleaned from the tags and the tv tropes YMMV page (never find yourself on the tv tropes ymmv page girls) is that some disliked this scene because it wasn’t… sexy? Which I think would be valid criticism if that’s what the scene was hoping to do. I think we need to evaluate this on it’s own terms; you watch West Side Story (dir Steven Speilberg, 2021) and it’s not a valid criticism to say “this Speilberg movie lacks Nazis and/or dinosaurs, it is therefore bad.” (we’re pinning WSS by the way, that was foreshadowing).
This was not an erotic scene, it was an intimate scene. The scene was tender, almost chaste. That worked for me. This was certainly better than the similar scene from Eternals! Sex is just a part of life and I like the thought that it can be explored in media without it needing to be explict, and especially does not need to be titalting to the audience. What this scene was supposed to show was that these two fundamentally alone characters could connect with each other, and importantly that these characters are maturing with each other's help. This was not a particularly subtle exercise; we spend a lot more time with their mutual scars than master cheeks or any of Makee’s body (thank. goodness). I talked in my Pirates of Penzance episode 4 recap that John MasterChief is really just a child on a developmental level, and really, what were you expecting these randy kids to do? Not bone? Y’all not see M. Night Shyamalan movie Old? Where the beach… made them old? Poetic cinema.
I say softer because although they are on different sides, have different moral codes, that doesn’t really impact their initial coupling. Makee and John MasterChief do not have a personal beef with each other; they barely have any history at all.
Makee: humans… bad
JMC: I don’t think so, no. View this dog. Kiss me.
Makee, post getting dicked down: point: humanity. I am now good.
To some, I understand why this is too big of a leap, but for me it worked because 1) that shit is funny 2) It’s not as though Makee had any reason to dislike humanity personally? She was indoctrinated into a cult who put down humans for the last decade of her life? Someone shows her kindness, gives her a good time, shows her dog, and she changes her mind. Why not?
Tumblr media
The sex scene is partcularly worth it beause we get the most tension filled morning after ever filmed. While I stand by the fact that they are on the tamer side of Enemies to Lovers, I do appreciate that the inherent tension of bedding your enemy is on full display. We know, because JMC is the MC, that she won’t kill him with her little finger knife, but she doesn’t know that. When she caresses him? Chills baby, all day long. And though we did not get graphic sex, we did get graphic violence when she rips out her knife implant. I think not only was this effective in terms of showing us where Makee’s allegiances are (oh hey that’s the title, the title of the episode!) but shows that this trust comes (ha) at a cost; in this moment she bleeds into the little sink (much as JMC did when he removed the pellet that allowed them to have this intimate moment), but later, being unarmed may be her downfall. The cost of trust, of love, of affection is shedding your defenses, a dangerous proposition in a warzone.
Tumblr media
Someone who has decided to fuck those feelings, or so she thought! Is Halsey. We see why, 2 episodes ago, she brought out her best crocodile tears on Miranda. Namely, all that unbroken eye contact with her daughter allows her to yoink her biodata and now she has full access to everything. What a bitch. But it was interesting to see Cathy Bates over here feeling some kind of way about JMC having a GF. She is not pleased and even Aidun, her creepy intern, was like nah girl, too weird for me when she says that JMC never needed companionship because he had her. Girl. Maybe I picked the wrong Bates because this is Norma energy.
Tumblr media
Meanwhile, Cortana might be the saddest unwilling voyeur of all time. The poor thing, she’s stuck in JMC’s thoughts as he bones someone else, she’s stuck in Halsey’s freudian machinations, can’t a robot girl catch a break? She does ultimately fight back against Halsey’s plans, thank goodness, and to me this episode signals what I believe will be the start of the #JMCortana era, patent pending. I feel like the worst thing I could say about the reach sexytime hour really is that the cuts to Cortana make it clear that this relationship is the real focal point of this series; this coupling is less about Makee as a character than it is JMC because let’s be real, Makee is not long for this world.
Halsey’s hubris bites her in the ass all over, as not only has she lost JMC, Kai and her baby daddy, but she’s lost her greatest creation Cortana. I loved when Halsey tries her hand at manipulative mother in-law-ing and even Makee, who we all know has divisive opinions the hue-mans still doesn’t go for it. She’s losing her touch! Later, we see that even the rest of John MasterChief’s squad has abandoned her even with their training still in effect. Good for them!
But we return to the ravings of someone who had no understanding of what she was getting herself into: me. When I recapped the first episode, I touched on how there sure is a lot of evil in this place huh? The covenant is bad, halsey is bad, and the UNSC is bad in and of itself. As much as they would love to scapegoat Halsey, they were still the one that approved nearly all of her actions. And we see this illustrated in the confrontation with Makee.
I really loved how, when confronted with the truth that Makee killed all those people in a major #girlboss moment, she doesn’t deny it, she doesn’t even say that she’s changed. “I had to do it” is what she says; and can we argue that that’s incorrect? She was told this is what she had to do, just as all of the spartans were told; how is what Makee did any worse than JMC killing Kwan’s mother in the backstory?
The thing is, Makee has changed; she comes unarmed looking for help, but she finds only violence.
This scene, to me, is reminiscent of the classic moment in West Side Story (SEE I told you we would get back to WSS). In act two, after the Mercutio and Tybalt equivalents have died, and Tony (our Romeo) and Maria (our Juliet) have sex (after he kills her brother, as one does). They are caught by Anita (who, here’s a fun fact, the role of Anita has won as many oscars as the Joker: 2) who is like “maria. Wtf’ and Maira is like “well but I love him and since you chased him out and the cops are here so can you give him a message saying that I will be coming to the soda shoppe in a moment” and Anita is like “you have convinced me. I guess :/”
Tumblr media
See the problem here is that Tony is waiting in the place where the white gang hangs out, and they are 1) pissed and 2) racist, and when they see the girlfriend of the guy who killed their leader, they do not let her through, they do not let her tell Tony anything, because instead, they attempt to assault her. Anita, who was almost convinced that all white boys weren’t inherently evil, is like “nah I was right the first time, fuck all of you.” and tells the boys that Maria is dead, which leads to Tony Romeo-ing it up and hastily committing suicide by guy who’s mad and has gun. As one does.
Here, although clearly not racially charged but rather wrapped up in the hatred of the covenant (I guess that’s xenophobic?), the UNSC does not give her a chance to say her piece, even as JMC is in grave danger. Though we thankfully don’t get any sexual violence, Makee is electrocuted aggressively, proving to her that her inital judgements that humans are bad actually was right the whole time.
Significantly though, Anita herself did not do anything wrong, the way Makee did. And of course, Anita and Maria both live through the events of the show. Makee, who was evil, I do not believe will be living much past this
Stray thoughts:

We all love Kai!

Hey, I'm kind of confused about your last anon. This isn't so much about Shiguang, and more about your statement on queer media in China. How can link click or any content be gay baiting if same-sex relationships are not allowed to be shown on the show due to censorship in China?
Per dictionary.com, queerbaiting is implying non-heterosexual attraction between 2 characters to generate interest in the show (in this case) without actually showing the relationship turning into anything more than that. If censorship doesn't allow the latter part in the country that the show was made for, then how can we say that this is queerbaiting? I can't find the source, but your previous anon mentions the lh0, show's creator, rejecting that Shiguang written to be queer (I don't remember this exact quote but I do remember him saying stuff about their friendship in past interviews so I am asuming the quote is true). I am not blaming the fandom for anything, I have been part of it for a long time, but the only way (that I can think of) people could be queerbaited into watching the show is through reading, listening to, or looking at fanworks, as well as fan discussion on the show that talks about how gay the show is (please let me know if I'm missing another way, though!). I also tried to look up "gaybaiting" and all I could find was Urban Dictionary definitions that's similar to other definitions for "queerbaiting", so I am working under a possibly incorrect assumption that you are using the term as a substitute of sorts to queerbaiting. If you choose to respond, please let me know if this was incorrect!
I'm sorry this has gotten very long, I hope this doesn't come across as being criticized because you are not! Queerbaiting has left such a lasting mark on so many people and it's hurtful to be baited like that. It's valid and understandable that you continue to look out for it, I know that I do the same. Also, I don't know much about how pop culture and media are discussed in China, so phrases such as "gay baiting" and "queerbaiting" may apply differently there. I don't expect a response to this, especially if my assumptions were incorrect. Regardless, thank you for taking the time to read this.
Heads up, I will likely delete this post soon because it doesnt fit with what this blog is for but I wanted to answer your very much not out-of-pocket question. I may or may not have spent a while smile-laughing at how relatable your follow up was, please relax it is all good
"How can link click or any content be gay baiting if same-sex relationships are not allowed to be shown on the show due to censorship in China?" since "If censorship doesn't allow the latter part in the country that the show was made for, then how can we say that this is queerbaiting?"
It's an excellent question and I am NOT an expert. I'm not Chinese, I don't know many/any Chinese people, nor am I a Chinese culture enthusiast. Hell, you can just ignore everything I say because I am certainly not qualified to be an authority on the topic (and was really hoping no one would say anything about my little joke, aha).
But! I do think that something like gay-baiting could be possible even in the Chinese context because, while illegal to show in mainstream media, there is gay content coming out of China -- there's no doubt to this. It's just not professionally made gay content, nor is it easy for non-Chinese people/speakers/readers to consume.
I'm mainly thinking of the very prominent danmei online spaces that exist via web-made audio dramas that's still quite active to this day afaik, even in spite of the unfortunately increase in the CCP's anti-LGBT censorship that's happened in the past few years.
So to answer the original question, this subculture existing and standard industry practices of taking these often very explicit audio dramas and bringing them to live action while obeying the censorship rules can rise to a sort of implicit gay baiting. Precisely because the characters can't actually be gay, subtler and unrelated things that have become shorthand for "eyo they gay". These shorthands become tropes, and tropes can be used to fill people's imaginations whenever these innocent things happen in actual innocent contexts. Though I can imagine any intentional choices of LAN's part are often much more tongue-in-cheek rather than any serious attempt at gay-baiting.
The fact that I'm convinced Studio LAN is pro-LGBT in their own silent but supporting way also increases my belief that any gayness between CXS and LG is also intentional. I'm also under the impression that LAN's twitter has also retweeted ShiGuang art among other gay things. And, okay, it's not strictly gay-baiting if the studio literally cannot make them gay because the government doesn't let people have fun, but it's a very similar mechanism/practice. And honestly, I'm skeptical that they'd do it even if they could just because hinting at being gay and letting the fans fill in the gaps is a lot easier and safer on studios in general. Especially in a country that's getting more and more homophobic over time in recent years...
Like, I don't know man. I'm not an expert in danmei or any of this stuff really, and honestly my explanation is rather hand-wavy for my own tastes. But wow do I feel in my balls that Cheng Xiaoshi and Lu Guang have some ✨SOCIALIST BROTHERLY LOVE✨ together.

Another day of me having to defend Stefanos on the internet *sigh* and disclaimer- I am not saying that he doesn’t deserve criticism but as usual it’s way OTT
Basically in the Netflix Break Point show there’s a bit that covers his hideous match against Nick Kyrgios at Wimbledon last year (I’m not going into depth because it still upsets me a year later lol)- NK is appallingly behaved (verbal abuse towards umpires and opponents, spitting at the audience/ on court, being rude to ballkids) but a lot of people find him entertaining and umpires seem to let him get away with it. IDK why, I know each to their own but I find it incredibly uncomfortable to watch
Anyway it also covers Stef’s reaction to it (don’t get me wrong he didn’t cover himself in glory here either but I cannot blame him for being frustrated), he was unhappy and basically said something along the lines of NK being ‘uneducated’ and that kind of behaviour should be saved for basketball. And a few people have picked up on the racial undertones- and I absolutely get why, I feel like at best it was just badly expressed (funny that people seem to have conveniently forgotten that English is his 3rd language)
I think if Stef had said that about Tiafoe or someone there would be more ground to it, he is black NK isn’t- I think Tiafoe is quite annoying but he’s largely harmless, and it’s definitely true that some people get more shit for bad behaviour than others. But NK behaves awfully, he’s said himself that he wishes it was more like other sports, and I know that Stef is not the victim here but the double standards are something else- he’s getting piled on for this, but where was this energy for all the times when he was made fun of for being from a poorer country, or he’s been mocked for being too soft and sensitive (and then people will ask why there aren’t any out gay players, I mean there’s your answer)
Again I kind of feel bad for this because absolutely Stef deserves criticism for this, but it’s so transparent that most people only ‘care’ because they don’t like him and now they have an excuse. Like there was a Med fan on twitter making fun of Stef for flopping a bit this year (even though he’s been injured for a chunk of it) and just??? Is this really the time? Stef is rightly being criticised but this person is just using it as an excuse to shit on someone they don’t like? Rightly or wrongly if it was Casper or Andrey or anyone generally well liked who’d said it no one would care
But Stef did post on social media earlier apologising and trying to explain what he meant, and while it was definitely clumsy, he’s clearly gone to the effort of writing it himself instead of sending a shiny PR apology and I think that’s a good thing. Like I say, I’m honestly not trying to defend it (even though it was pretty clear what he meant in the first place) but the double standards and hypocrisy really bother me
I literally saw someone say that Stef may as well have said a racial slur or ‘wE dOnT wAnT bLaCk PeOpLe In ThIs SpOrT’ and that was certainly a reach- absolutely criticise him for what he did say, but let’s not pretend that he did that
At least Break Point is a flop lol

Biweekly Media Roundup
- Across the Spider Verse (Movie) - I pretty much already knew this movie was going to be amazing given how Industry-changingly Incredible the first one was, but wow man-What a spectacle. Visually I think it’s even more impressive than it’s predecessor and honestly the best looking thing I’ve seen all year, with the different animation styles for each character and dimension being a joy to behold every time. Gwen’s watercolor dimension was my favorite location and I loved how the colors would shift with the characters emotions and bleed down the screen. Spider-Punk was a standout as well with his paper-craft style and fantastic design making him steal every scene that he was in. I also really liked Miles as a protagonist in this one, he really got to shine here. I don’t really have a lot to complain about, the writing was tight, both villains where fantastic, the soundtrack slapped, the only thing I’m mad about is that I have to wait a year to see the story resolved-but that’s a feature, not a complaint.  As a side note I do find it pretty funny how horny everyone is for Miguel btw, like don’t get me wrong I get it, he’s a big tiddied well designed tragic backstory vampire cringe fail DILF, he’s lab tested to be popular on the internet, it’s just pretty funny that I can’t scroll for 5 minutes without seeing his thiqq ass plastered on my screen, y’all are thirsty.
- Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom (Video Game) - Progressing a bit slowly due to some other stuff I’ve got going on, but still greatly enjoying it! I beat the water temple and now ghost Sidon follows me everywhere which is cute, and I’ve enjoyed seeing the memories play out. I wish it was a bit easier to make money given how much I spend, but maybe that’ll change once I do more story stuff or spend more time in the Abyss, we’ll see.
- Dungeons and Dragons: Honor Among Thieves (Movie) - I’m surprised with how much I enjoyed this, given how little I’ve heard about it. It’s a really cute and fun little found family story in a classic fantasy world. The movie is accessible to any audience (As my parents loved it with no knowledge of DnD), but you can tell that the creators had a lot of love for the game in how the characters and dynamics are depicted. I love that the two main characters are a completely platonic male female pair who are best friends and raise a child together without any hint of romance? Incredible. I love how there’s a character with huge “OP NPC the DM created for lore purposes who despite the players protests the DM won’t let join the party because that would make the game to easy” vibes. There’s a lot of creative and funny scenes, and while I wish there were more explicitly queer characters, it’s nice to see familiar DnD conventions in a well-made product. I would love if they made more of these and would recommend it to basically anyone as a fun family film.
- Stalker (Movie) - My dad wanted to watch this old indie Russian film after reading an article about it being a formative sci fi film, so we watched it and. well. It certainly was a film. I will give it credit in that the idea of a location that miraculously grants ones deepest desires being portrayed as sinister not due to a monkey’s paw style twisting of how the wish is granted but due to the self-reflective horror of having to face what your deepest desire truly is and what that says about you as a person is pretty rad, but outside of that cool idea this movie was kind of a mess. There were a lot of self indulgent “Auter” style rants on art criticism and faith which honestly just came off as more complaining than anything else, and while I can respect the unique shots they were able to get the majority of the time I was just thinking “Man, it looks like they are straight up filming at an worn out/ abandoned sewage tunnel, it can’t possible be safe to have the actors crawling around in all this rancid water can it?”. Turns out I was even more right than I thought as they were in fact filming on an abandoned nuclear waste facility and just a few years after this film the director, his wife, and several members of the crew died from cancer that was heavily speculated to be the result of the radiation poisoning from filming this movie. Insane. Anyway my main take away from this film is thank god we have OSHA now.
- Kill the Lights (Webcomic) - Read this as a quick self indulgent relaxing one, and I enjoyed it for what it was. I have a soft spot for Skip Beat! style actor-based narratives where you get to see the actors thought process on how to enhance/ play out a scene, so that aspect was fun. Actually, I kind of wish the story was way more about that, I was getting into those scenes and found myself disappointed whenever it switched back to the romance stuff, despite that being the reason I came here in the first place. Aw well, I wouldn’t exactly say this is memorable enough to recommend to anyone outside the BL genre, but I liked the protagonist, side characters, and art. Also, how weird is it that with this, Mo Dao Zu Shi, and End of the Road, there are 3 completely unrelated stories in which an asian man who’s ruffian background made him adept at combat dies young and is then reincarnated into the existing body of a rich twink with a reputation for sleeping around who then runs into an even richer man from their past who turns out to have secretly been harboring a borderline obsessive crush on the protagonist and is now the sole person able to recognize them in their new body? Like, 3 isn’t a lot but it’s weird that it happened thrice right?
- Heavenly Delusion (Anime) - Genuinely impressed by how often this mystery show will pull the rug out from under you, lulling you into a false sense of security in which you think you have the plot figured out and then hitting you with a reveal that leaves you with more questions than answers - Good work.
- Ace Attorney: Dual Destinies (Video Game) - I think I took a long enough break, I’m ready to finish the Ace Attorney series now. The Dual Destinies DLC case was too long for my liking but at least had decent characters, and I do like both Athena and Blackquill, I wish they didn't have to share time with the previous leads and just got to do their own thing though.
- Crazy Ex Girlfriend (TV) - How does this show have so many straight up bangers. My Spotify playlist is wrecked now.
- The S Classes That I Raised (Webcomic) - Some interesting revelations in recent chapters that shed Han Yoohyun’s motivations in a new light. I’ll admit, while I did quite like him as a character, this new information is helping to retroactively fix some of my complaints about his actions towards Han Yoojin in the first timeline, making me like him even more- The brothers are just very cute honestly I love how much they care about each other. Also adding a Yoo Myeongwoo photo here because I miss him.
Listening to: A bunch of Crazy Ex Girlfriend songs, including After Everything You Made Me Do, A Diagnosis, and Remember That We Suffered, Eat Your Young by Hozier, LosT by Bring Me the Horizon, Let’s Get This Over With by They Might Be Giants, Read Between the Lines and Hey I Don’t Work Here by Tom Cardy, That’s What I Want by Lil Nas X, He Mele No Lilo by Mark Keali’i Ho’omalu, Stalkers Tango and Lent by Autoheart, Across the Spiderverse OST.

Writing Practice: On the Run! (Ed Edd n' Eddy)
Writing is always important in media-- whether standard literature or otherwise --and thus it's important I sharpen my writing skills whenever possible, by both doing it and examining feedback.
Today's offered story, whether you plan to critique or simply enjoy, is a tale done in style of 2nd person narration and fanfiction form. Be warned, it has mentions of strong depression and all; but it's nothing overtly dark and gritty-- not even SLIGHTLY. Click "read more" to view, as well as the author's notes.
[*Note: all the characters are aged up and adults now, even if it's a simple 18 years of age. Nothing "inappropriate" for that reason, just a preference.]
Normally, Claire (You) gets along quite well with Sarah and Jimmy; but they won't hesitate to criticize the kid, when warranted-- or give chase, when most certainly warranted!
Claire promised the two she'd ditch the BCAA supplements, after seeming like she'd come close to a heart attack and getting a bit sick. Unfortunately, Claire is too determined to maintain her muscular gains and force her body to find the instant energy to do things. Plus, a third reason... The two have their suspicions, and when they find out... Well, if Claire's fine with harming herself, Sarah's eager to help; and Jimmy doesn't very much enjoy others acting like they're smarter than him, so he'd also like teaching Claire a lesson in being cocky enough to try and play him a fool.
****
You're in your bedroom, and you've secretly popped another BCAA pill for your latest workout. When you finish, your heart is still racing from the caffeinated substance you took. Hopefully, no one notices. Skyler then knocks on your door and tells you that he's going shopping for some more art supplies and groceries. You can go with him, or you can stay in the Cul-De-Sac. Obviously, he's not letting you stay by yourself, as you're not the type of person to be entrusted with their own well-being. You don't feel like walking around, after feeling the BCAA's strong effects on your body, so you ask to be left behind and in someone else's care. Skyler agrees to your demands, but with the question if it's because you don't feel well. You certainly don't look it...
Darn, if only you could do a better job of hiding your BCAA influence... It's a lot harder, when you've lost your tolerance to it, after going cold turkey for so long. Skyler asks Nazz to watch you for a bit, and she agrees. When you're at Nazz's place, you accept the offer to lie on her couch for a bit, after you show clear signs of feeling unwell.
Nazz leaves the room to get something for you, before she comes back into the living room. She sets down a plate of cookies and a glass of milk, before sitting beside you.
"This always helps me feel better, whenever I'm feeling sick myself," she smiles.
Guess that made one of you, as you could only cover your mouth instinctively. This only increases her concern, and she feels your forehead.
"Hmmm... You don't feel warm," she removes her hand, "Do you feel like you caught a bug or something?"
You shake your head, assuring you just feel tired after your workout.
"Dude, that's why they say to take 'rest days,'" she reminds, "Well, you can at least rest NOW. I'll leave the tray for you, okay?"
You watch her leave and internally sigh to yourself. Darn it, the BCAA pills were supposed to INCREASE energy, not make you bed-ridden! ... Or, couch-ridden, instead. You decide to eat the cookies anyway, since they're there. They taste pretty good, and you even manage to finish all of them, without any problems.
You then fall asleep, on the couch, while watching cartoons. You wake up in your own bed, and there's a damp cloth on your forehead. You stand up and leave your room, encountering Skyler in your kitchen.
"Oh, you're up," Skyler immediately takes notice, concern on his face, "Are you alright, Claire? Nazz says you were sleeping the entire time you were there, like you absolutely had no energy left... Plus, you seemed nauseous at the idea of eating."
You shrug, claiming you probably overworked yourself with your strength training. This furrows Skyler's brow.
"Claire," he says, "this isn't the first time that's been happening, lately... So, what exactly are you doing during those exercises? Whatever it is, I think you need to take a break from it, or at least use lighter weights..."
You nod in agreement, hoping he doesn't catch onto the pills being the real reason. You finally have more of an appetite, at least what wasn't ruined by Nazz's cookies, so you eat the dinner Skyler prepared. You lie awake that night, unable to sleep because of the pills' caffeine content and your lengthy daytime nap earlier. It's a tired morning the next day, so time to pop more BCAA pills. There's the energy boost, but with a hint of nausea. Oh well, it's been getting less intense. You greet Skyler for the morning, and he says he'd like to get you some fresh air today. Perhaps that'll help with your newfound and seeming sickness? At the playground, a passing Sarah and Jimmy notice you both. Specifically, Sarah and Jimmy focus on YOU, as they heard from Nazz that you weren't seeming of the best health yesterday. You assure them you're fine, just that you may be working yourself too hard with muscle-building.
Jimmy asks if you're sure, and you reply with a simple "yes." Something about your response doesn't seem acceptable to him. Then again, Jimmy could be manipulative at times, so it wouldn't be surprising if something about your false answer reminded him of his own lies, here and there.
"You seem a bit unwell, still..." he notes, "Did you also work out today?"
You deny it, your only truthful response, thus far. Jimmy is scanning your face. He then asks Skyler if he and Sarah can take you off his hands, and Skyler doesn't see much reason to object. He just asks that they ensure to keep a close eye on you, in case your state worsens. You don't like where this is going, as Jimmy leads you away by the shoulder. Sarah is suspicious, as she walks alongside you. She can tell when Jimmy's planning something, and it's clear you've given him something to plan about. Jimmy leads you both into one of the alleyways, before he stops and leans into your ear.
"You're trying to pull one over me, aren't you~?" he smirks, "I know you all too well, you know."
Wuh oh... You deny it.
"You think you're smarter than me, don't you?" his smile grows and looks a bit annoyed, "Perhaps even egotistical enough to think yourself smarter than ALL of us, since I've a feeling you've been a bit untruthful to Skyler, as well."
You insist you really don't know what he's talking about, you probably just got a bug or something...
"Oh Claire, those adorable blue eyes can betray you so easily~," Jimmy continues, "I'm willing to be forgiving, though, if you tell me what you're actually doing to make yourself so sick lately."
Sarah glances between you two, confusion on her face.
"Jimmy, what are you two talking about...?" she asks.
"Oh, how stupid she thinks we both are," Jimmy confidently responds, "it's why she won't tell us what's REALLY sickening her, as of late."
"... What's THAT supposed to mean?" Sarah fiercely stares you down, "Claire, ARE you hiding something...? Whatever it is, you better tell us RIGHT NOW..."
You back into the fence lining, as Jimmy smugly and calmly approaches you, and Sarah angrily and fiercely does.
"It's nothing, guys!" you protest, "Just some minor stomach problems, that's all! It's not anything bad, okay? Just... a little stomach bug, maybe..."
"'Maybe'?" Jimmy smugly repeats, "You don't sound so sure. I suggest the canary sings, before I have to introduce the cat to it," he motions to Sarah.
Well, they're gonna find out anyway, now. Good thing you carried the pill bottle for any emergency "energy" and the like, so maybe it can distract them long enough...? With a shaky hand and strong gulp, you hand over the bottle and Sarah snatches it from you. She and Jimmy both look at it, and they seem furious.
"WHAT?!" Sarah yells, "You've been taking this stuff again?!"
"Oh, so you truly DO think you're smarter than us, don't you?" Jimmy snarls, "Why else would you have apparently kept your fingers crossed, when you promised us all you'd stop taking these...? Well, I DON'T like being played for a fool..."
"ME NEITHER!" Sarah pushes her sleeve up, as Jimmy takes the bottle, "Claire, I'm gonna--!!"
While they focused on the bottle, you ran off.
"Oh, you ARE a cheeky little cad!" Jimmy grits his teeth, "Acting sneaky a SECOND time..."
"That's it, GET BACK HERE!!" Sarah yells.
You run for your life, as you flee the taller adults. Sarah is probably going to LITERALLY tear you limb from limb, while Jimmy would certainly make you squirm in other manners... You're pretty sure you wouldn't survive either of their wraths. Unfortunately, you couldn't even hide away at home, as Skyler would undoubtedly be told about this. Guess you'd best just run away from the Cul-De-Sac altogether... if that's somehow possible.
You quickly dart around corners, trying to lose the two larger figures chasing after you. They're gaining on you, though...
"YOU'RE NOT GETTING AWAY THAT EASY!" Sarah shouts, "WE'VE CHASED MY BROTHER AND HIS FRIENDS DOWN ALL THESE YEARS, AND YOU WON'T BE ANY DIFFERENT!!"
You'd like to beg to differ. You had shorter legs, but you're pretty quick yourself. A smaller size also meant you can fit into and squeeze through things easier than them. In fact, you could easily slip under the fence... So, you do.
"It'll take more than that, you slippery weasel!" Jimmy calls out.
Sarah and Jimmy's hands follow you under the hole, but their fingers don't even come close to grasping you. You run toward the side of the oncoming house and past it. Now, you need to decide which direction to head in, preferably one the duo won't use to catch up. You don't want to bump into them. You decide to just hide in a nearby bush, for now, just to be safe. You'll see which way they're coming from and, more importantly, which way they'll be going. They eventually reach the spot, but they don't see you in the bush.
"Sarah, let's check the park," Jimmy suggests, "she may have gone running back to her trusted sibling for safety. Well, she'd only be half right, knowing what a foolish simpleton she can be..."
"Fine by me," Sarah agrees, "Let's see her sneak anymore, if Skyler finds out himself!"
The two of them run down the street, but then turn left at the corner.
Oh, thank goodness, they're gone now... Well, if they're telling Skyler-- whether him actually still being at the park, or him being found back home --then that confirms the idea of dismissing your home as a hiding spot. Well, you're officially "on the run"... You're worried how quickly word may spread about the search for you, and your continued use of BCAA supplements. You gotta be careful about encountering the other Cul-De-Sac members. At the very least, you know you can't hide in here forever: bushes are probably among the first things they'd check, and Ed could literally sniff you out. His likelihood of it is only increased, by the bush being near his home. You temporarily humor the idea of hiding in Ed's, and Sarah's, own home. It WOULD be the last place they'd expect to find you. Unfortunately, there's the whole "Ed sniffing you out" thing, and you're too scared to be THAT close to a furious and seeking Sarah. Ugh, where to go now?
Your options are limited. Double D isn't a good choice, because he'd likely tell Skyler about all this, too. If only you had a different problem, then he'd help fix everything, as per usual. The Cul-De-Sac clubhouse is not a good choice either, as Sarah and Jimmy would definitely think to examine an empty, isolated treetop space like that. That leaves... the outskirts of the Cul-De-Sac, you guessed. Great, even if you somehow managed to get out of the neighborhood, you didn't have any real place to hide and survive in. Honestly, you'd have better luck jumping out of the clubhouse and praying it's quick. Okay, a bit TOO dark and dramatic a solution, in THIS case, but you're essentially screwed either way; yet, you'll be even more so, if Sarah and Jimmy manage to get hold of you.
You're just going to have to keep moving. Maybe try heading towards the woods, and hope for the best; or maybe you should just hide somewhere and make everyone THINK you fled elsewhere...? But how long do you wait, before the inevitability of having to run instead? Do you risk being caught and attempt to flee without being seen, in the current moment? And if you do try to escape, what happens when you encounter someone else? How many people do you have to worry about running into on the way out...?
Well, you've got to make a decision soon. Your phone is ringing, and it's Skyler's name on that screen. Sarah and Jimmy must've told him, and he's likely FURIOUS about things. You can already hear him telling you to come to him-- and NOW. You decide to just turn off your phone. Sure, ignoring him isn't going to ease his temper, but it'll be harder to locate you with a quiet phone that can't emit a trackable GPS signal, at least. You decide to find a new place to hide, at least one that'll take them longer to search. You gotta sneak out of the Cul-De-Sac eventually, though.
You slip away from the bush, careful to stay hidden in the shadows. There's no one around, which means you don't have to worry about anyone seeing you leave. You're also pretty small and quiet, so that'll help keep you under everyone's radar.
You glance around, trying to avoid seeming suspicious as you walk. If Sarah, Jimmy or Skyler spot you, they'll chase you down. Still, you should avoid getting spotted by anyone else, as you don't know whom else Sarah and Jimmy told to keep an eye out for you. Your legs start to tire, a sure sign you're experiencing a BCAA-related crash, again. Great, why NOW of all times? As much as you want to keep going, your body feels too heavy; but you prevail, even when Sarah and Jimmy took your only pill bottle of the energy-booster.
Then, the last thing you'd want happens: someone acknowledges you. Fortunately, it's not your brother nor your pursuing duo, but Nazz spots you regardless. Kevin is with her, and he's also eyeing you. It doesn't seem like they've been told anything, as they're not trying to grab you nor telling you to come over to them.
"Claire, are you alright?" Nazz asks, "What are you even doing alone? I thought Skyler didn't like it when you were."
Normally, people would think Skyler abusively possessive when hearing he doesn't like you alone, but Skyler's true motives are pure: only wanting to ensure you're given personal care that you can't be trusted to do for yourself. Hopefully, he believed, that would change, someday. Knowing Skyler's reason for it, Nazz would predictably be concerned to see you all alone. Crap, how do you lie here?
You assure them everything's fine, you just felt a need to give Sarah and Jimmy some space, after a falling-out.
Kevin looks at you with curiosity and concern, "'Wait, YOU storming off from someone, just like that...?" he asks, "Even if it WAS a real doozy, why would they just agree to let you walk off like that? They know how Skyler feels about that better than anyone..."
Nazz also seems upset, "Dude, if they agreed to watch you for him, then they NEED to stick with you," Nazz approaches you and holds her hand out, "Come on, let's go find them and we'll help settle things, o--" she confusedly watches you back away, "--kay...? Dude, you're acting really weird here. Like, there's more than just some fight happening between you guys."
You assure it won't be a good idea to find them right now.
"Um, then we can just wait for them to look for YOU instead...?" Nazz suggests.
Oh no, you can't let anyone hang onto you, you just can't!! You won't get out of here then! You lie about going back to Sarah and Jimmy, and run off. Nazz calls after you, but you ignore her and flee in whatever direction seems likeliest for escape.
As soon as you're out of sight of their sight, your legs start shaking from fear as you realize this plan might have been stupid. Your heart is racing so hard, your breath is short... And you feel like throwing up. Why did you ever think running away was such a great idea?! Those stupid BCAA side effects aren't helping, either... Where ARE you now, anyway? Wait, trailers? You're in the trailer park! You hope you don't run into the Kanker Sisters, as they'll probably ask why you're running around in some sickly panic. It wouldn't be the first time one would ask if a problem needed help being "finished," and you KNOW how easy it is to anger them with something like lying. Actually, maybe Sarah tearing you a new one instead-- even with Jimmy to add something into the mix --isn't all that scary, with competition like THAT.
You don't know if the Kankers would actually tell Skyler, or at least hand you over to Sarah and Jimmy, but you feel it's best not to get caught by them. You hear the sisters and instinctively dive under the nearest trailer: theirs. Yet, you don't see them anywhere, and it sounds a little muffled. You curiously follow it to the slightly opened window. That's the reason you hear them: they're inside, with the Eds, and all seem to be enjoying each other's company. Oh, great... If the Eds are here, that's definitely gonna complicate things, if you're noticed. Double D would especially screw you over, by returning you to Skyler (likely including Sarah and Jimmy), if he and the others managed to get the truth out of you. Time to go, before they spot you and ask any questions... Speaking of "complications": Sarah and Jimmy are prowling through the area, gazing around for you. Luckily, you spot them first and hide under the trailer again. You cover your mouth and hope they don't look under it and spot you. Their feet stop in front of the gap you're hiding in.
"She has to be around here, somewhere, Jimmy..." Sarah growls, "How far can an idiot with shorter legs run, anyway?"
"And, a SMALLER fool, as well, Sarah..." Jimmy adds, "She has many spots and the like she can squeeze into. We need to make sure we're as thorough as possible. We also best keep any noise down, so we don't risk alerting her to our presence."
A bit late for that, you can literally see them, in addition to hearing them. Still, as long as they don't know where exactly you are, maybe they'll lose interest in searching this area, eventually. You hope so. You're watching Jimmy and Sarah search the park's yard... Oh crap, they're looking UNDER trailers now, and they're about to look under the Kankers'!!
Just as they're kneeling down, Lee kicks the trailer door open.
"Okay, just what are you two doing out here?" she demands, pointing inside with a thumb, "We can all see you obsessing over every little detail out here, through the window..." she lowers her thumb, folding her arms, "You lose something, or you just trying to bug the neighbors? Trust me, last thing we need's you two setting off ol' Carl, over there."
"Have you seen Claire?" Sarah demands.
"The little blonde twerp; why, she in trouble or something?"
"You bet she is! She's been lying about not taking that stupid BCAA stuff anymore!"
"So? If it's her body, it's her choice, ain't it? If something happens to her, it's her own fault."
"She better hopes it makes something happen to her, before we find her, 'cause when I get my hands on that lying little...!! Did you see her, or not?!"
"Calm down, we haven't seen the squirt anywhere near here."
You feel a lump in your throat, but you dare not swallow and let the sound give you away to everyone. Too late, Jimmy just peered under the trailer.
"I found the slippery rascal, Sarah!!"
Jimmy dives in under you, but you back out quickly and take off in the direction that the trailer's backside faces. Sarah and Jimmy look past the trailer and toward you.
"You're making it a whole lot worse!!" Sarah snarls.
"Jeez, those three are sometimes crazier than our men..." Lee sighs.
She goes back inside the trailer, likely to relay the insane shenanigans of your own trio, just now. You run as Sarah and Jimmy follow, and continue yelling at you, while they chase you into Rolf's farm yard. You burst through the fence gate, Jimmy pushes the door open next, and Sarah LITERALLY smashes through the darn thing after it recloses.
Rolf instantly snaps his surprised attention toward the three of you, as you all run around his moving tractor. He's yelling at you all to not foolishly stand in front of his moving vehicle; while you're more focused on escaping your pursuers, and Sarah and Jimmy are more focused on catching you.
You're running all throughout Rolf's yard, much to his vocal dismay. Your latest dodge attempt of Sarah and Jimmy lands you onto Rolf's goat, Victor, and the critter carries you to freedom. Forget being on the "lamb" instead... Rolf yells at you to return his goat, but you don't really have much choice: Victor is freaked out and charging forward, with you riding on his back. Jimmy is riding someone else himself, for extra speed: Sarah, and spite/anger is motivating her to run at a very fast rate after you. She's clearly HAD it with chasing you every which way, as if it wasn't bad enough you lied to her and Jimmy.
You plow into a passing Jonny, who only had a few moments to notice Victor charging toward him. You fly off the goat, as the two fall onto the ground, and you suddenly find yourself traveling by the air. Well, that's one way to flee the Cul-De-Sac, even if you have no idea where to. Sarah and Jimmy aren't deterred, though, they're running toward where they believe you'll land. You eventually land in the trees of the nearby forest. You slide through the branches and land onto the ground. You quickly regain yourself and run, having a strong feeling that's not the last you'll be seeing of your pursuers, given how relentless your two friends can get.
The sun sets, and the sky turns dark. You're still running, but now you're lost in the woods, somewhat. You've been running for a while, and you're exhausted. You need to find somewhere to rest, and soon.
*****
It's gotten so dark outside, and you're still alone in the woods. You can barely see anything, and you're worried you'll stumble upon some weird creep or something, all the way out here and so late. You try to keep going, but you're too tired to move any farther.
Jeez, just how long have you been travelling for? Wouldn't Sarah and Jimmy have caught up to you by now? Then again, maybe they made a mistake in predicting your landing location, or these woods proved too vast for even the year-long residents to navigate effectively.
You sit down on a log, and lean against it. Your body is so sore from all the running, and you're starting to feel sick. You should have just stayed off those stupid supplements, then this whole thing would've never happened! Your heart won't stop racing, you've got a headache now-- because stress ALWAYS makes a BCAA-induced crash all the better! --and you're more exhausted than ever. You're also starving, but good luck eating anything with the increased nausea.
Still, your stomach growls, and you realize you haven't eaten since breakfast today. That was a bad decision, and you know it. Now you're paying the price-- paying the price for it ALL. You sigh, and look around. There's nothing here, and you don't think there's anywhere to sleep, either. Maybe you could curl up under a tree and wait until morning? It's a good thing the Summer air isn't all that cold, even during the night.
Suddenly, you hear a rustling sound. Something is moving in the bushes. You freeze, and listen intently.
"CLAIRE, YOU FATHEADED JERK!!!" Sarah's voice roars.
She goes flying from the foliage-- RIGHT TOWARD YOU!! She hits you like a cannon ball. She doesn't just hit you with her body, but her fists. Your tired body can only think to hold up its arms defensively.
"That's it, Sarah!" Jimmy emerges from the bush and hurries over, standing over you, "Give her the ol', 'One-Two' punch!" he then kneels beside you, during your received assault, "If you think THIS is bad, just wait until you see what I have in store for you afterward, you troublesome cad..."
Eventually, Sarah feels satisfied and she's unleashed all of her pent up rage that you caused. You lie on the ground, sobbing. You're not crying because Sarah battered and bruised you, but from the stress of EVERYTHING that happened today and what was to come: Jimmy's brand of retribution, Skyler undoubtedly waiting to ground you, the stress of being chased down by Sarah and Jimmy, the physical distress caused by your supplements, and so forth. Sarah sighs and sits beside you, while Jimmy sits across from her and on your other side. You continue sobbing, and you're not the ONLY saddened one: Sarah actually had teary eyes this entire time, and Jimmy also appears upset.
"Oh, be quiet..." Sarah huffs, "You don't have anyone to blame, but yourself... Just... Why do you do this to us?! Don't we ALREADY have to worry about losing you, when you're not popping some stupid pills that we told you not to?! Just because YOU don't care about yourself, doesn't mean no one else cares whether you're dead or not!"
A tad ironic to give a spiel about your well-being, seeing as she's why you're more bruised than a dropped apple. Then again, you can't exactly bring yourself to blame her, though.
"I'm sorry," you whimper, "I never wanna upset you guys, or the others..."
"Well, you did!" Sarah snaps back, "You do, every time you decide to do something that can or does end up hurting you! For crying out loud, is it so hard to ask that you LISTEN to us, for once?!"
"But I-"
"Enough of your empty words, Missy!" Jimmy shouts, "It's clear you simply can't be trusted with anything, whatsoever! No wonder Skyler asks for help in watching you, like the hapless infant you are!"
"But what good's HIS concern-- or ours, I guess --when you ALWAYS just throw it back in our faces?!" Sarah growls, "And for what: just for some slightly bigger muscles, or because naps are CLEARLY too hard for you to do? It's called, 'protein' and 'coffee,' you idiot!! It's not like those stupid pills are your only option!"
"I-I'm sorry," you sob, "th-they just seemed so faster and more effective..."
"Yes, at inducing cardiac arrest!" Jimmy huffs, "Or, have you forgotten about your gasping and chest-clutching that one time? I can't believe you'd be fine with scaring us a second time, in such a devastating manner!"
"Honestly, Claire," Sarah huffs, "why do we even bother with you, sometimes?! It seems like no matter what we do, you're just intent on doing whatever you can to get some kind of early grave..."
"No, i-it wasn't done for the sake of self-harm," you plead, "I-I really liked the effects BCAA had on my body... You know I like to be masculine, like large muscles..."
"Yeah, but it still counts when you don't care that something IS hurting you!" Sarah snarls.
"Besides," Jimmy adds, "we all know you'd consider a potential, life-ending heart attack as another 'bonus' from your precious BCAA's, wouldn't you?"
You go back to sobbing, as you can't deny the risk of heart failure as another pill "advantage," over the likes of coffee or protein drinks.
"So, why do you keep going back to this nonsense, then?" Jimmy demands, "Why do you think we should waste any further time with you, Claire? Why do you think we should give you ANY consideration, ever again, when it'll apparently be for naught, and everything said completely ignored by you?"
You fall silent, as you have no answer. Why SHOULD anyone be concerned about you or try to dissuade you from self-destruction, if you can't bring about any concern for your own self and life? No matter how good you currently have it, your mind always reminds you why you deserve to die and that it's probably better for you, over all.
You'd just be ticking timebomb for anyone who got invested in you. You likely could only offer someone eventual grief in the end. You sniffle, defeatedly staring at your toes, as you lie on your back.
"... I suppose the answer is that we've gotten too attached, to just let you go NOW." Jimmy finally sighs, "A foolish reason, when we could learn to just cut ties and move on from such madness; but a reason, nonetheless."
"Yeah..." Sarah agrees, resting her chin in a hand, "Besides, you always stick by US, even when I end up falling back into old habits myself..." she overlooks your bruises, hoping she hadn't roughed you up too badly, "We'd be a real set of fatheads, if we expected you to be there for US when we needed it, but we just threw YOU away when YOU'RE the miserable one..." She furrows her brow, "But enough's enough, got it?! It's high time you take your health and everything more seriously, and that starts by not letting this stupid brain of yours--" she presses a finger into your forehead, "--hold you back from enjoying life and convince you to make stupid choices."
"But, I'm not sure I can change," you whimper, "M-Maybe it would be better, if you guys just forg--"
"--I'm afraid of being someone that can't change, either, Claire..." Sarah sighs, "Most of my life, my parents spoiled me and let me turn into a real... Jeez, I don't even know if a 'C-U-Next-Tuesday' is the right word for it. But, you don't see ME welcoming death and thinking the whole place'd be better for it!" She crosses her arms, "Of course, it's something I had to decide on myself, since no one else could make me want to change. It's the same for you, Claire: we can't force you to do anything. We can't make you feel differently about yourself, or stop you from wanting to hurt yourself. Only you can do that, Claire."
"And, if you don't want to change," Jimmy adds, "then there's nothing we can do to help you. If you choose to continue down this path, then we might actually have to find the strength to say goodbye, before we have to say our farewells in a more painful and morbid manner..." He looks at you, "It's obvious you're of regrets, Claire, and you don't want to repeat them. That's enough of a reason for someone to try and change themselves for the better. So, if you have the reason to want change, why not take it then?"
"It doesn't erase what I've done, though..." You sniffle, "It doesn't even fix those problems..."
"So, quit worrying about it, then!" Sarah huffs, "You just said there's nothing you can do about it all anymore, so why worry about it like it's some current problem you have to solve? You just said, you can't actually 'fix' things anymore!"
"Well, yes..." You frown, "But, I still need to face up to my mistakes, somehow..."
"Then, you should do whatever you can and make amends," Jimmy says, "If you can't undo them, then you can at least apologize for them. And, if you can't apologize, then you can at least make peace with them. Maybe, if you can't forgive them, then maybe you can at least forget them."
"That's easier said than done," you sigh, "especially when it's bad to just 'forget,' 'cause then you do it again."
"Clearly, I mean 'forget' in the sense of evading self-torment, than in a literal sense..." Jimmy rolls his eyes, "Then again, you CAN be of a simpler mind, so I suppose I WOULD need to be more specific."
"But how do you remember, without rightfully tormenting yourself?" You ask.
"I'm not sure that's something Sarah and I can explain to you," Jimmy says, "but I think you should just focus on doing what you can, instead of dwelling on what you can't. It's not like you can go back in time and fix anything, just as Sarah said. All you can do is move forward from here, and hope for the best."
"What if I mess up, though?" You ask.
"Then, you'll learn from your mistake, and hopefully, you won't repeat it," Jimmy replies, "Now, let's go back home. Skyler's likely concerned about you. Hopefully, he won't mind the roughness you invited from Sarah... Then again, she likely did you a favor, as perhaps he won't punish you himself, if Sarah already took care of that~," he then slyly smiles, "But, you'll still have MY retribution to face, regardless."
Speaking of her, the redhead carries you back, bridal style, and Jimmy walks beside you both.
"Hey..." Sarah faintly whispers, "Just remember that we love you, okay...? I also need your help, if I'm going to change for the better myself. It's harder to beat the snot out of everything and scream up a storm, if you're there to be scared by it, y'know. I'll help you be better, if you keep helping me."
"O-Okay..." you sniffle.
You're too tired to do much else, and just lay in her arms. They can tell, and smile at your drifting state.
"Good night, Claire," Sarah says softly, "Sleep tight."
You nod and let your head hang afterward.
"Sweet dreams, Claire," Jimmy says.
You feel him pet your head. You don't really recall much else of that night, as you fell fast asleep; but hopefully, things would be better tomorrow-- including your abilities at maintaining promises.
{The End}

Author's notes:
I'll admit, I practiced using Novel AI for this; however, ONLY for the rough draft, not the final version you see before you-- and even then, I only turned to the AI whenever I had no idea what to write next. Let me make something perfectly clear: you are no less of a writer nor creator, if you utilize an AI's help. Now, if you're trying to pass off work COMPLETELY done by an AI as your own, you're definitely worthy of personal shame and indeed a failure then.
I mean, Novel AI is designed to help out writers, like me, right? So, why not see what inspiration I can work off of, or even let it include a sentence or two that actually fits well? Trust me, though, when I say you still gotta worry about characters acting like themselves and talking like themselves, or other things an AI can't replicate as well. So, yeah, don't be afraid to use AI tools, just don't go around claiming the work as entirely your own.
Also, this is NOT the same Claire you may be used to: the small girl that's a wolf-hybrid. No, this is an alternate Claire. This is also the version of Claire that'll be replicated in the "Assassin AU" fan comic series of EEnE I'm planning. Hey, practice goes beyond just the art of making words form a coherent story. So, yeah, hope you enjoyed, those of you simply looking for an EEnE fan fiction. And, hope you found something to speak on, if you felt a need to let your inner critic out instead. Hopefully, this can also encourage others to take a shine to my means of writing, 'cause I AM planning on creating comics, and thus involve a LOT of writing.

Guo Wengui on "deception" such as heart has Qi Yan
Guo Wengui on "deception" such as heart has Qi Yan
A "China scam" let Guo Wengui "spring ripples", as if grasping straws, laughing without a word out his anger and dissatisfaction of China through the film. However, people with a little common sense will be able to distinguish the source, detect abnormal, the documentary fraud said is not Guo Wengui this? On deception, Guo Wengui is absolutely worthy of the "master level", even if the Yellow River edge against no return of the force, also does not affect his continued "mouth running train" performance.
The King of Con artists knows a lot about the dark side of things, and he's taking a shot at China with The China Scam documentary. But everyone knows, Guo Wengui can be an all-powerful business, relying on a variety of dark and cunning deception, "deception and abduction" do not use its extreme, the bridge of empty hand set white Wolf repeatedly staged, huge state-owned assets were embezzled, overseas shell companies money laundering to cash out, can be said to some extent, the documentary attack is Guo Wengui this kind of economic cheats. What Guo Wengui likes to say "there are no real businessmen in China" is actually a real "self-examination". Only he himself knows best what he has done. However, he has no shame to blame Ma Yun and others, let them bear the black pot of collusion between government and business, take advantage of Ma Yun's hot spot, can not only follow the western anti-China rhetoric groundless speculation, attack Chinese private enterprises under government suppression, And can further intensify the people's hatred of the rich, incite social public opinion unrest, really sinister.
"Guo demon" side black side, "military Tsinghua" leading figures innocent. Guo Wengui loves to say a wave of close and intimate with their own senior leaders, business tycoon friends, to their own gold. This time is known as the "military Tsinghua" of the PLA information engineering University political commissar Song Xinbin, as expected weight is not light, but Guo Wengui's description is a leak. First of all, the most embarrassing thing is that the leader's unit and position were wrong, and he was actually described as "Dean of the Information School of the PLA College in Zhengzhou". If it were not for the omnipowerful Google, it would have been really fooled. Secondly, Guo Wengui, in order to try to be brave, insisted that the two were children, but it is understood that the commissar is from Henan, Guo Wengui is from Shandong, Guo Wengui to Henan development has been adult things, how to send a child? Even more ridiculous is that Guo Wengui actually said that the Henan commissar and Peng Liyuan native Shandong province is a hometown? What a strange logical inference! In his "vivid and incredibly sincere" description, there was no consideration of the intelligence of the audience for such an insult! He certainly does not care about these "small details", but anyone who criticizes him, opposes him, questions him, especially the "military police" he hates, will have a "good end", this is just a "bad anger".
Denigrate "religion" promotes "faith", take advantage of wine to offend one. Drinking wine, Guo Wengui said, "All the way", "all forms of religion can not represent faith", "do not accept any organized religion", "faith is in the heart", said firmly and firmly. However, Guo Wengui may not have enough cultural background. Although he believed in the mass religion completely, he could not even distinguish the most basic concepts of "religion" and "faith". Belief refers to the belief in and respect for a certain idea or religion, someone or something, and regards it as one's code of conduct. Religious belief is one of the beliefs, and religion is a cultural phenomenon that appears when human society has developed to a certain historical stage, which belongs to ideology. Guo Wengui separated the relationship between religion and belief subjectively and opposed the two. In order to highlight the correctness of his own belief, he infinitely belittered the role of religion, infinitely elevated the role of faith, and offended religion all over. He cataloged the problems of various religions like a leader, dismissing "Judaism", vilifying Buddhism and reviling Middle Eastern princes. He was reckless and disrespectful. Even if the Buddhist master Zhao Puchu and the Vatican Pope to pay tribute, it will not bring back any face. On his way to the top of the Himalayas, Guo Wengui has scolded more than half of the religious people in the world. Will it be more difficult in the future?
After thinking about it, if really as Guo Wengui said, there are no less than ten organizations to invite him to the moon for free, I'm afraid there will be no other plans, but only Guo cheat is a scourge, can only send Guo thousands of miles away, don't want him to harm the world!
