someone mentioned my other catboy omens stuff in a few tags (thank you btw <3) and I decided I'd just dump all of it in a single post outside of the main tag

cringe is always due to one's self-perception. those that put others down for existing in the way that feels most authentic, comfortable, do it purely for either self-gratification or fear of others' perception of the self.

example: someone's LGB and cringes at a trans person's gender expression. they fear how others will see *them* based on the community-association.

example 2: a system sees an endo plural and fakeclaims them, bc it makes them feel more valid/real.

both of these cases are the same myth rearing its ugly head: the myth that putting others down makes *anything* better. cringe has and will always bring nothing but harm to *all* parties involved. it spreads harmful stereotypes, perpetuates insecurities and pushes folx further away from self-discovery and authenticity.

let cringe culture die.

Atlanteans keep summoning Phantom. They don't mean to, but now he has a very different look.

Apparently the summoning ritual for the High Prince of the Infinite Realms was leaked (he's pretty sure it was Johnny and Kitty), and teenage Atlanteans are like any other teenager; absolutely willing to peer pressure their friends into doing stupid creepy shit.

He keeps appearing underwater, and it's super uncomfortable to take that moment to remind himself to stop breathing so he doesn't accidentally inhale a lungful of water.

Easy solution; he's already got two forms, and one of them is pretty malleable. As a ghost, it's not like he needs to use his legs anyways.

So he changes it.

It's got glittering white scales, glowing green freckles, claws, and a betta-fish-like tail with glowing neon ridges. He calls it his mer-sona, and makes sure to call it that before Tucker can beat him to it.

Now whenever he gets summoned, he just sticks to that form.

i will like forever stand by the fact that self-insert art is good and helpful honestly. call it cringe or whtever but at the end of the day you need to realize that drawing yourself or writing yourself into your favorite media that makes you happy can be incredibly healing. there is seriously nothing wrong with wanting to experience a bit of a reality in which u live a life that is with your favorite character ever even if its "weird" cuz honestly who the fuck cares. make urself happy. let yourself have that singular pleasure of imagining yourself with someone or something that brings you comfort outside of this world that is not nearly as kind

nobody in their right mind will let me do this but I want to get in the water and try to mimic orca sounds at orcas in real time. I know I can do whistles and clicks underwater, and I need to see if

a) they would be loud enough for the orca to hear and

b) if it would freak them out

whether or not I get killed in this scenario is irrelevant. I need to see an orca as wigged out as a cat when you meow at it.
